“Whitney was fantastic!! She kept in contact sending loads of photos and videos and my cat loved her!! She got more cuddles than I usually get! Will definitely book Whitney again, thank you for looking after my home and cat!”

“Highly recommend Kaeya. She accepted a sit for our two elderly chihuahuas at very short notice. They can be quite antisocial but took to her straight away at the meet and greet, and she updated us regularly throughout the sit with lots of photos included. One of our pooches has extra needs and regular medication which were provided for perfectly. Thank you so much Kaeya. It was such a relief to find someone so in tune with our pooches and we will definitely be in touch in the future.”

“10/10, Great dog sitter. Eliana is accomodating and kind. She stuck to our complex routine and was thorough in her research and requests prior to staying with our dog. Our girl lived having her so much, she wasn't bothered about us when we got back! We even came back to a tidier house than we left 🥰 Highly, highly recommend!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience using a pet sitter! Alice was absolutely wonderful! So kind, attentive and clearly loves what she does. Throughout the stay we received plenty of updates and photos which helped us relax while we were away. It was so lovely seeing how happy and well cared for our puppy Chase was. She truly went above and beyond! Not only was our home left spotless but she even washed the bedsheets which we never expected and really appreciated. We’re so grateful for everything she’s done and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend! We’re very happy, thank you Alice!”

“Nala had a wonderful time with Sherelle, she’s so caring and loving towards dogs and she made me completely feel at ease coming into my home and sitting Nala. Nala loved her from the second she met her and Sherelle sent videos and messages through out the day. Nala can’t wait to spend time with Sherelle again soon.”

“Glenda was fantastic, communication was great right from the start. She was lovely with Reggie and sent me photos throughout the stay. Would definitely use again. Left the house immaculate too!”

About: Hello! I am a student nurse with a genuine passion for caring for both people and animals. I have grown up in a home with dogs and cats, giving me years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments- from a little Dachshund to a high energy Labrador retriever. I have one dog and two cats of my own, and they mean the absolute world to me. Because of this, I completely understand how worrying it can be to leave your pets while your away. My aim is to give you complete peace of mind by ensuring your pets are safe, happy and well cared for in the comfort of their own home. I can provide dog walks, drop in visits, feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, companionship and overnight stays in your home if required. I am happy to care for dogs of all breeds, as well as cats, and I will always treat your pets with the same love, kindness and attention that I give to my own. I am also happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages whilst your away, so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. Before any booking, id be delighted to arrange a meet and greet so we can get to know each other and your pet can become more familiar with me.🐶🐾 I currently work part time shifts as and when required for an agency so I am not tied to set hours and I can be pretty flexible. I take time out in the morning and the evening to walk my own dog and provide enrichment and playtime for him. I like to walk over Cannock chase and chasewater and would love to meet new dogs to be able to bring along with me🐾 I would not currently be looking to offer house sits in my own property due to having cats and I want to ensure they are comfortable. My dog is very friendly with my cats and they are able to get along but I know this is not always the case. When I look after your pet I will take time to play with them, provide walks, fresh water, enrichment activities and of course lots of love and attention 🐾❤️I know every breed is different and they all have different temperaments and require time and patience and understanding ❤️
“Ben was so good with our pets. They loved him as soon as they met him. We had no concerns whatsoever and he made us feel confident leaving our babies with him. We’ll definitely be using his services again in the future.”

“Just want to say how amazing Mark and Sue are!!! They looked after our 2 dogs and cat for our Halloween wedding. As soon as meeting Mark and Sue I knew my fur babies where in the best hands. Mark and Sue go above and beyond for you while your away, keep you updated and are just the loveliest people! Would not have anyone else look after my animals. So very grateful to you both and we well definitely be using you again. Thank you again Mark and Sue 🧡😀”

About: I have looked after dogs since I was 9 years old, ranging from little pups to older dogs, and absolutely love them all! I have a lot of experience in caring for puppies and know how to crate train, keep ‘place’ as well as basic commands if needed, but can care for your loving pet exactly how you would want me to :) I am currently dog sitting both at other people’s houses and my own. My own house has a large fenced garden next to a big park, perfect for walkies! I have a fenced, safe garden that is well maintained and do not own my own pets at current. I maintain a clean and organised home with space for crates, toys, and everything your dog requires! I live with my parents who also have experience in caring for other people’s dogs and previously owned our own.
“Thank you so much to both of you for looking after our little boy at such short notice! I cannot thank you enough. Rudy was welcomed with open arms, into a lovely home, and cared for brilliantly. He’s quite an apprehensive dog when meeting new people, but he soon settled in, and as Jas told me, stealing the show! See you again soon! Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I don’t just look after dogs — I help them feel calm, confident, and cared for. With experience in both puppy training and gentle senior dog care, I tailor every visit to meet your pet’s individual needs. Whether it’s reinforcing good manners, building trust with a nervous pup, or providing comfort and patience for an older companion, my focus is always on creating a safe and peaceful environment. Dogs pick up on our energy, and I pride myself on offering steady, reassuring care that helps every dog feel right at home. Hi, I’m Darcy! I’ve been caring for animals for years, starting with my own dog, Buddy, who’s been by my side for over a decade. Through him, I’ve learned the importance of patience, understanding, and consistency — qualities I bring to every pet I look after. Along with dogs, I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals, each with their own personalities and needs. As a part-time sitter, I’m able to give your pets the focused, one-on-one attention they deserve, whether it’s a comforting walk, playtime, or simply keeping them calm and content while you’re away. I have no set schedule for work so can work with you to find the best time to dog sit your fur babies. At our home, your pet will feel safe, relaxed, and part of the family. We have a large, fully fenced garden where dogs can stretch their legs, play, and explore freely under supervision. For pets who prefer their own space, there’s plenty of room for crates or quiet corners where they can unwind comfortably. We’re lucky to have beautiful forests and brooks nearby, perfect for peaceful walks and a bit of outdoor adventure. Whether your pet is staying with us or I’m caring for them in your home, I always keep their routine, comfort, and happiness at the heart of everything I do. With a calm environment and a caring family feel, I make sure every animal feels safe, loved, and right at home.

About: Growing up with dogs has instilled in me a profound love and respect for these loyal companions. My childhood taught me invaluable lessons in compassion, responsibility, and understanding the needs of dogs. I am committed to treating your pet with the same care and affection that I provided to my own cherished dogs in the past. Rest assured, your furry friend will receive dedicated attention and a nurturing environment while in my care. Balancing pet care within my part-time work schedule and weekends off as a dog sitter involves meticulous planning and dedication. During weekdays, I focus on afternoon visits, ensuring dogs receive essential care such as feeding, exercise, and companionship. This schedule allows me to cater to their daily needs while accommodating my work commitments. On weekends, with more time available, I dedicate myself fully to dog sitting. I extend walks, engage in longer play sessions, and provide additional attention to ensure each dog's well-being and happiness. This comprehensive approach not only meets their physical requirements but also nurtures a strong bond through consistent interaction and care. Overall, my routine revolves around providing reliable and loving support during afternoons on weekdays and full attention on weekends, creating a fulfilling experience for both the dogs and their owners. In my home, where I have a fenced garden, I ensure pets receive exceptional care in a safe and stimulating environment. Dogs under my watch enjoy regular access to the outdoors, where they can play, exercise, and explore freely within the confines of the secure fencing. This setup allows them to engage in natural behaviors while ensuring their safety.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and have looked after friends and family’s dogs too. I’m quick to learn their behaviours and bond with them I am a university student however there is a lot of free time around my timetable and I currently don’t have another job so I am able to be very flexible. I cannot care for pets in my own home but in others homes I would request instructions for both your pet and home and to be shown where what I need is to care best for your pet

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - South Staffordshire
I cannot recommend Cherelle highly enough. She looked after my dogs Coco and Bella while I was away on holiday and provided exceptional care from start to finish. Throughout my time away, she regularly sent updates, photos and videos, which gave me great peace of mind and allowed me to relax knowing my dogs were happy, safe and well cared for. It was clear from every update that they were receiving plenty of attention and affection. She is also a genuinely pleasant, friendly and professional person to deal with. One of my dogs can be quite cheeky at times, but this never seemed to faze her. She handled everything with patience, kindness and a good sense of humour. I returned home to two happy, content dogs, and I wouldn't hesitate to use her services again in the future. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of them.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Staffordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
