Sophie was quick to respond and was very accommodating, looking after two cats and two gekkoes as well as house sitting. She sent through regular updates with pictures and videos and Ginger seemed to be very happy. She left the house clean and tidy. Would recommend & will definitely rebook.

Absolutely fantastic!!! We haven't left our dogs since 2020 and were really apprehensive about going away; however, when we first met Anna, we instantly knew our dogs would be cared for and loved like they were hers. Anna sent us daily updates, daily including photos and messages, which was great for us and our children as the dogs are like our babies. Anna is a really lovely dog sitter who not only looks after your dogs but also your home. We will most certainly be using her again!!!!

Amanda was a lovely caring pet sitter - she looked after my 2 dogs, one old Chihuaha cross and the other a lively young cockerpoo. We met initially for a meet and greet and it was clear that Amanda was a real animal lover and both my dogs were really happy and I was happy leaving them with Amanda safe in the knowledge that they were going to be well looked after. Amanda sent me photos and let me know how they were settling. I highly recommend Amanda and without hesitation would book her again.

About: Taking care of our family dogs, cats and small animals for 12 years! We love all animals and you can rely on the fact they will be in a very safe and loving environment. We both work from home 9-5 and do a 2 hour walk after work, so pet care will fit into our routine perfectly. Your pet will never be alone as we will be with them 24/7. We have a secure and looked after garden, which dogs will have full run of this all day. Our downstairs is also open plan, so they can sit with us. We also drive so would be able to visit peoples homes to look after pets!

About: I have been taking care of my friends and family’s dogs since i was 15 while they go away on holiday. I give them lots of love and play with them all the time. Pet care fits into my daily/weekly routine easily as i look after 3 dogs of my own and know how to fit their needs and requirements in throughout the days and evenings. I will do what is needed such as, walk them, feed them, make sure they have plenty of water, play with them to exert any energy that is needed and to stimulate their brains, i am happy to cuddle and love your dogs as much as they require and are comfortable with and if there is any extra needs or requests then i will go above and beyond to make sure your pets are happy and safe in their home/on walks.

About: I’ve always been around dogs (mainly German shepards and cocker spaniels) so I’m used to bigger dogs. I enjoy teaching new tricks and have even taught my cat tricks! I’m currently training to be a teacher so each day/term varies in terms of availability. Weekday mornings (before 7:00) and evenings (after 17:00) are mostly workable depending on location - if you’re interested or would like to book a different time, please just ask and I’ll see what I can do! I’ll make sure to follow any instructions given to ensure that your pup gets the best care possible and, they feel comfortable with their normal routines.

About: As a proud cat owner and experienced dog carer, I understand how important it is to feel completely confident leaving your pet with someone else. While I haven’t owned a dog recently, I regularly care for friends’ dogs and am comfortable with a range of personalities and needs. I’ve even looked after a dog with seizures, staying calm and following clear steps to ensure they were safe and comfortable. Whether your dog needs long walks, gentle company, or a little extra attention, I provide patient, attentive care and treat every pet like my own. I currently work on a 7-14 shift pattern, so I am available during weekends and week days where needed and almost most hours. I also have some shifts that require early or late finishes so I can be available before and after these also. Whilst I can't have pets at my own house, I understand the importance of having a safe environment for ones pet. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I provide a secure, pet-friendly environment with a high, fully enclosed fence to ensure dogs can play and explore safely. Gates are kept closed and checked regularly, and I’m always mindful of surroundings during walks to avoid busy roads or potential hazards. Indoors, I make sure the space is calm, clean, and free from anything that could pose a risk. Whether your pet is energetic or a little more cautious, I create a safe, structured environment where they can feel relaxed and comfortable.

Over the years my family has had Pinschers, Mini Poodles, Labradoodles, and Rottweilers, which has given me hands-on experience with both small and large dogs. Being around dogs my entire life has helped me understand their behaviors, needs, and personalities. I genuinely enjoy caring for them and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. My schedule is extremely flexible and I am self employed. I walk my dog for at least an hour a day in the beautiful woodlands and whilst on walks i do some training too. I have a valid CRB check that is live. About: I’ve taken care of pets ever since I can remember. Having been raised around dogs of all sizes, and my family’s love for having many cats at home, I have accumulated years of experience from home alone. This includes pets with special requirements, and those who just prefer more attention to others! I grew up spending most of my time at my uncles farm, spending a lot of time with his farm animals and sheep dogs. I have volunteered frequently at Stourbridge cat rescue over the years, and having 6 of my own at home, the care required came naturally to me. I currently study full-time at university, however my schedule is very flexible! I have filtered my availability to show for this, so any days you see free means I am able to accommodate to your pet full-time or whenever required! As someone with pets of my own and an understanding of how clumsy some pets can be, I can ensure that I will keep a permanent eye on your pet during sittings- and that all small objects are kept away and doors/ windows are checked frequently. Personally, my dog loves to sprint out the door whenever he hears the handle go, so I have mastered how to leave the house without any flight-risk. Any special requests shall be adhered to also.

About: I have grown up around animals from dogs to chickens, which helped spark my love and desire to persue a career working with them. I have completed a college diploma in animal care where I learnt many valuable skills into how to care for a variety of animals. I am looking for some part time adventures to enjoy alongside my part time job, I have availability for these amazing experiences everyday including all day Tuesdays and weekends. For dog sittings or drop ins I would be able to let your dog out for the toilet, ensure that they are fed their correct diet and have sufficient water. I would also love to play and tire out your dog, but be able to leave them confident that they are safe housed in their dedicated area whether that is a crate. I am a confident walker, and would be willing to help in any way I can.

Isabellas's quite confidence worked really well with Sansa as gpt used to her. Even. Better she left my house spotless. Bedding washed and dried abd replaced. A real Gem Do not hesitate to book her.

I couldn’t speak higher of Laura and how she has cared for my very old and complex little dog Tetley. He started off the week unwell which is stressful when he is so old but she was amazing at keeping me informed and stayed calm. She’s looked after him through such hot weather and has taken really good care of him. We had photo updates and regular messages whilst still allowing us to focus on our holiday. She has been an angel last minute stepping in and allowing us to have a family break as our usual dog sitter was unable to have him. We wouldn’t have been able to all be together and knowing he was having a lovely time and company too was amazing. Couldn't rate her higher and she left everywhere so tidy too. Tetley was so happy to see us but it was clear he’s been well looked after and Laura even took time to message my family to put their minds at rest. Thank you Laura for taking such good care of Tetley. You really are an angel and have allowed us to have our holiday and make some lovely memories with our children 🥰

Fantastic!!! Everything we asked for our dog was carried out as requested & beyond. When we returned to our house it was spotlessly clean. It was a very tough decision to leave our dog with a stranger but that was soon made easier once we saw how she bonded Alicja. I honestly cant reccomended Alicja highly enough to house/dog sit. Everything we asked of her was followed above & beyond expectation. We had daily pupdates & videos which helped us to enjoy our holiday. I really hope Alicja is still doing this service in years to come as she will be our No1 choice for our next big holiday.

FAQs for House Sitting - Dudley

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Dudley on Rover is £32.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,398 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dudley. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Dudley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dudley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
