“We can’t fault Stephanie, she was absolutely wonderful with our cat, very friendly and professional and her communication before and during the visits was great. I loved that she regularly updated us and sent us little videos of our cat happy and playing, it really put us at ease and allowed us to enjoy our holiday knowing she was in very safe hands. Would definitely recommend her as a pet sitter and will be booking with her again next time we go away!”

“Leanne was lovely. Joe is a difficult boy and Leanne dealt with him really well taking account of his needs especially around walking. Great communication. Would definitely use Leanne again.”

About: As a proud cat owner and experienced dog carer, I understand how important it is to feel completely confident leaving your pet with someone else. While I haven’t owned a dog recently, I regularly care for friends’ dogs and am comfortable with a range of personalities and needs. I’ve even looked after a dog with seizures, staying calm and following clear steps to ensure they were safe and comfortable. Whether your dog needs long walks, gentle company, or a little extra attention, I provide patient, attentive care and treat every pet like my own. I currently work on a 7-14 shift pattern, so I am available during weekends and week days where needed and almost most hours. I also have some shifts that require early or late finishes so I can be available before and after these also. Whilst I can't have pets at my own house, I understand the importance of having a safe environment for ones pet. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I provide a secure, pet-friendly environment with a high, fully enclosed fence to ensure dogs can play and explore safely. Gates are kept closed and checked regularly, and I’m always mindful of surroundings during walks to avoid busy roads or potential hazards. Indoors, I make sure the space is calm, clean, and free from anything that could pose a risk. Whether your pet is energetic or a little more cautious, I create a safe, structured environment where they can feel relaxed and comfortable.

About: I’ve taken care of pets ever since I can remember. Having been raised around dogs of all sizes, and my family’s love for having many cats at home, I have accumulated years of experience from home alone. This includes pets with special requirements, and those who just prefer more attention to others! I grew up spending most of my time at my uncles farm, spending a lot of time with his farm animals and sheep dogs. I have volunteered frequently at Stourbridge cat rescue over the years, and having 6 of my own at home, the care required came naturally to me. I currently study full-time at university, however my schedule is very flexible! I have filtered my availability to show for this, so any days you see free means I am able to accommodate to your pet full-time or whenever required! As someone with pets of my own and an understanding of how clumsy some pets can be, I can ensure that I will keep a permanent eye on your pet during sittings- and that all small objects are kept away and doors/ windows are checked frequently. Personally, my dog loves to sprint out the door whenever he hears the handle go, so I have mastered how to leave the house without any flight-risk. Any special requests shall be adhered to also.

“Hayley was totally reliable and did a wonderful job with both my elderly cats especially with the most timid. Winning his trust was special. Daily contact and photos reassured me and allowed me to relax on holiday. Highly recommended and would definitely use this sitter again.”

Otherwise, the dogs are with me on a country walk or a park and cafe pitstop! I offer a complete home from home dog boarding service. “Melanie looked after our two cats whilst we were away on holiday and she did an incredible job. I received daily updates via the Rover report cards as well as photos each day. This was so reassuring and lovely to see. I completely trusted Mel and her ability to care for the boys whilst we were away. Mel also gave Simba daily medication and at the end of the week I received a photo of the daily medication log which confirmed he had received his tablet at what time each day. Mel went above and beyond in her duties, one day returning for a second visit, to check on Simba as he had been sick one day. I would absolutely recommend Mel if you are looking for a conscientious and caring lady to care for your pets. Thanks again Mel! We will defo be in touch next time we are away xx”

About: I have love for all animals, but dogs have my heart. I walk my 3 year old ridgeback daily, along with a rescue Belgian Shepard, a husky and occasionally a working dog! I have dealt with a few dogs who have separation anxiety so I am familiar with dogs who have triggers so this can be discussed before hand if you feel necessary. My walks have now jumped from anywhere between 1-4 dogs a day and I’m looking to do more. I have walked breeds from Yorkshire terriers to Rottweilers and shepherds so size isn’t a problem! I currently work night shifts so I am free during the day, and can negotiate times depending on the days I have work or not. I am young, confident and very understanding so any concerns discussed will always be taken on board. I love everyone’s dog like their my own so I like to ensure the owner is comfortable their pooch is in safe hands. I know a good few local parks and many routes that are on the quiet side if your dog is better walked alone.
“Alanah visited twice per day as requested and sent me some lovely pictures of the cats. Sadly my holiday was cut short so I can’t leave as full a review as if she had been coming for the whole time.”

About: I’ve taken care of peoples pets from a young age friends and family’s dogs and cats house sitting from 15 for family when they’ve gone away on holidays and needed someone to walk, love and feed their animals to drop in visits to play and let them out. I have free time to kill whilst at university in the mornings, afternoons and evening and my weekends are completely free to help out whenever I’m needed. I’m away from home at university so no pets in my home but I have cared for pets like family and friends before so I have experience in looking after big to small animals.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
