“Our little dog seems to have endless energy. Vasiliki was so kind and patient. We couldn’t have asked for more. Milo had so much fun he sat by the front door when he did get home crying to leave again 🤷🏻♀️”

“Really reluctant to give Jennifer a review as, selfishly, I don’t want her to get too busy. She takes care of our puppy as if he was her own. He loves spending the day with her and she prioritises looking after him above anything else, finding exciting stuff to do and going the extra mile to develop him and keep me up to date with each day’s adventures. We feel exceptionally lucky that the very first use of Rover has ended up with Dexter meeting Jennifer and Goose. Wouldn’t hesitate to leave Dex with her overnight, either.”

“Emma was a brilliant carer for my sausage dog Dougie. Can’t praise her enough. She went above and beyond with a 5.30am start until 6pm. Kept me informed with pics and regular updates. I’d definitely recommend Emma, she clearly loves the dogs she looks after. I felt reassured from the time I dropped him off. He loved his day. Many thanks”

This was his first time away from us/family and I'm happy he was so cared for and looked after. Kate was really lovely and reassuring to us, and we will be using her again in the future!”

Sarah takes great care of Dexter and always finds varied things to do to keep him occupied and busy. Sarah loves having Dexter and he loves it too (nearly chokes himself pulling me to the front door on Mondays). He has such fun that when he gets home on the evening he is good for nothing other than eating dinner and passing out 🥴

Tina and Richard are lovely! Welcomed us and dogs in to their home, they were very accommodating for the dogs. Kept them entertained and safe. Took them for a walk and showered them with love. Texts and pictures throughout the day which we really appreciated. Thank you so so much. Really recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
