“I was apprehensive leaving Lady for the first time, but when I picked her up, she was so happy. She'd clearly had a wonderful day. I've re booked now so that she is used to Michelle, and visa versa, so she won't be stressed once left overnight when we go away.”

“We would highly recommend Kirsty as she’s looked after our frenchie (yoda) for the past couple of weeks. She’s treated him like he’s her own, by little touches such as the paddling pool and doggie ice cream as well as lots of long walks and photos daily. He always gets really excited when he goes there. Will definitely be rebooking again. Thanks so much. Emily :) x Yoda will look forward to seeing you again!!!”

About: I have had dogs all my life, most recently my last two dogs needed medication including insulin injections. Very experienced looking after dogs that need daily medication. My dog was an old boy when we had to say goodbye to him, so I understand the needs of senior dogs. I am retired and my wife works from home in pet insurance. Our days are spent around the home going out for shopping, but there is always someone home. I did do Rover for a while before, but stopped due to health. So I did have feedback but unfortunately not now. We have a lovely large fenced garden with a bit aviary with 40 budgies. Dogs do love to lie and watch them. We have a park close by for walks, however, your pet will never be off the lead at the park even if recall is good. Your pet will be treated like a member of our family and will not be forced to sleep on the floor unless this is what you want. They will be allowed on furniture and upstairs.
“Domenica looked after my nervous German Shepherd with much gentleness, patience and care. It was his first daycation with a pet sitters and I was nervous beforehand. But I'm so glad we went for it, I really want to give my dog more positive experiences with people outside his little circle. We will definitely be arranging some more regular days.”

“Daryl & Becky were so lovely and couldn’t have made Rolo more comfortable at their home. They gave him an enriching walk as well as lots of cuddles and fuss throughout the day. They updated us with messages and photos throughout the day meaning we could see what Rolo was up to! He’s already booked in for another day soon ☺️”

About: My aim is simple: to give your dog a happy, comfortable home-from-home while you're away. Dogs have been part of my life since childhood. I've shared my home with Gypsy, a 35kg German Shepherd, Dark Knight (DK), a 30kg Belgian Shepherd, and today Sunnie, my friendly 2-year-old German Shepherd x Sproodle. I particularly enjoy caring for larger and more active breeds. I've also looked after friends' Border Collies and boarded a 35kg German Shepherd alongside Sunnie, so I'm experienced with intelligent, energetic dogs and comfortable walking multiple strong breeds together. I also have experience caring for dogs with medical needs. Dark Knight had epilepsy, so I'm confident administering oral medication, recognising seizures and remaining calm during emergencies. Whether your dog is energetic or prefers a gentler pace, my aim is always the same: to help them feel relaxed, secure and right at home. I work from home and am around for most of the day, so dogs receive plenty of companionship and supervision. Apart from short trips such as food shopping or visiting the gym a few times each week, I'm at home and can easily adapt my routine to suit your dog's normal feeding, medication and exercise schedule. I only board dogs from one household at a time, helping to create a calm, low-stress environment. My home has a large, secure fenced garden, and visiting dogs are treated as part of the family throughout their stay. I'm happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs if they prefer sleeping in their own crate, and I'm experienced following medication and care routines provided by owners.
“I was worried about leaving my new puppy for the day while I had to attend a family funeral but I needed have. Rachael was very sweet, professional and accommodating. Would use again in the future. Hilary.”

About: An animal lover for as long as I can physically remember! I'm very experienced in animal care and have worked in the veterinary industry for many years. Alongside this, taking care of my own very loved pets! I'll always take photos and update you throughout their stay. Making it that little bit easier to leave them in the first place, knowing you can rest assured. I currently work full-time. However, working shifts allows me blocks of time off. Which is where I fill my spare time sitting and spoiling animals. Ensuring their stay away from their owners is like a holiday for them too. I currently only offer sitting in owners homes due to having a cat at home who gets very stressed by dogs. I like to arrange a meet and greet prior to staying to set out a care plan for your pet. Ensuring all theirs and your needs can are met.
About: I have been a devoted pet owner from an early age. My Staffordshire, Buddy, lived with epilepsy for 8 years, teaching me patience, care, and the importance of tailored attention. After his passing, we welcomed Louis, a Pomeranian, who shared 10 wonderful years with us. Now retired, I want to continue sharing my life with dogs and cats, combining my love for animals with a commitment to their happiness and wellbeing. I believe every dog and cat is a cherished member of the family and deserves attentive, compassionate care. This business is my way of enriching their lives while enjoying the joy they bring. I provide safe, loving care for dogs and cats, including walks and sitting. My large, fully fenced garden ensures pets can play freely and safely. I take photos during their time with me so you can have peace of mind. Safety, respect, and happiness are always my top priorities.

About: I’ve had my own dog (a greyhound), and have walked and cared for other dogs, big and small before. I have lots of weekday availability. I’m currently working on Saturdays, so I’m available to walk your dog on weekdays and Sundays. I am willing to get up early to walk your dog if required. I am a kind and patient person, my priority is always to ensure your dog is happy and safe. I am respectful of you and your dogs boundaries.
About: I’ve grown up with both dogs (especially dachshunds!) and cats, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. Being around different breeds and personalities has given me patience, attentiveness, and a real love for their individual quirks. When I travel, I love dog sitting — it’s such a rewarding way to experience a new place while giving a pet consistency and care. I’ve looked after a variety of breeds, but one of my favourite experiences was caring for a lively Jack Russell in a Bavarian-style treehouse in Australia — morning nature walks and cosy evenings in a wooden hideaway. It perfectly combined my love of travel and animals 🤍🐾✨ My cabin crew role has made me extremely responsible, punctual and attentive to detail — all qualities that carry directly into how I care for pets. Because my schedule is planned in advance, I’m able to dedicate specific, reliable time slots for house visits and only accept bookings when I know I can give your cat my full attention. During each visit, I’ll carefully follow your cat’s routine — feeding, fresh water, litter cleaning, playtime, cuddles, and any medication if required. I understand how important consistency and a calm presence are for cats in their own home, and I’ll always treat both your pet and your space with the utmost respect. Whether caring for pets in my home or visiting yours, I prioritise keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I know how important familiarity is so I take time to understand their usual feeding schedule, preferences, hiding spots, and personality before starting. In a pet owner’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, keep feeding and litter areas clean, refresh water, provide playtime or quiet companionship depending on what your cat prefers, and administer medication if needed. I also send regular updates and photos for peace of mind. I’m very respectful of other people’s homes and always leave everything exactly as I found it.
“Ashleigh came through for us when our original plans fell through last minute. One very happy dog and a huge thank you to Ashleigh for her patience and understanding both of our circumstances and our unusually energetic senior dog.”

“Siobhan and Conor took such amazing care of my pup Milo. They were great at providing updates throughout the day and sent lots of videos and pictures where I could see that Milo was loving every minute in their care and getting lots of play and attention. Would highly recommend both to any pet owner!”

About: Both me and my partner have grown up with dogs and love being around them. Our boys childminder has rescue dogs and our family have dogs so our kids are very used to them and loves them too. My partner works from home quite a lot in the week but will be out and do visits during the day. I work from home Thursdays and Fridays. We don’t work weekends. We are all home from 4 pm and love an evening walk. We have a fenced garden and we live just a few minutes away from a lovely park. We like to be outside and spend our weekends in a park or forest somewhere. We live in a semi detached house and we like to keep our neighbours happy so if your doggie is vocal we will not be able to look after him/her unfortunately.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
