About: I've been around all creatures great and small for longer than I can remember, and have loved animals than I can remember still. My experience as a pet owner is with smaller mammals - I am the proud parent of two rats - while other pets I have experienced through relatives and family friends. I spent long summer days as a teenager cat-sitting for my grandma - I don't think Tuppence (the cat) ever quite warmed up to me, but she enjoyed using me as a place to sunbathe and very much liked when I would attempt to bribe her affection with treats. I have been around dogs my entire life and, more recently, have enjoyed work as a dog walker for a family friend and their animal-care business. This is where I have gained my professional experience in animal care, having completed a Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Diploma as part of this placement. Overall, I have experience with every variety of pet, including rescues and especially seniors. I'm currently formally unemployed, doing some casual work as a dog walker. Most of my time is spent with my gorgeous pair of rats (Baba Yaga and Kugrash), who are endlessly amusing and endlessly keeping me busy cleaning the out and creating new and incentive ways to engage them. As it stands, I have plenty of free time to spend caring for other people's pets - because every animal deserves the same love and companionship as my Mischief! I would be offering my services to care for your pet in your own home, so I would want to understand your typical routine and dynamic. In my Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Diploma, I learnt best practices for maintaining safety and trust for all involved, including rudimentary pet first aid (which I intend to learn more about).

Winnie has never been left overnight before so we were understandably a little anxious. We neednt have been as Gabby was patient and kind to her and within 24hrs she has settled in and was playing and enjoying her walks. Gabby sent at least a daily update with photos and we were confident at all times she was being well looked after . Many thanks Gabby ?

About: I’ve always loved spending time with animals and have cared for cats and dogs for family and friends over the years. More recently, I’ve been house sitting and realised how much I enjoy looking after pets and keeping them happy while their owners are away. I’m a patient and caring sitter who takes the time to get to know each pet’s personality and routine. I’ll always make sure everything is clear by asking questions, and I love sending daily updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. Whether it’s house sitting, walks or drop-in visits, I’ll treat your pets with the same love and attention I’d want for my own. Pet care fits smoothly into my daily routine. I set aside dedicated time for walks, play, feeding and attention, so I can give pets consistent care and companionship. During house sitting or drop-in visits, I make sure to follow each pet’s routine closely and can easily adjust to special needs or schedules. I also make it a habit to send updates and photos to owners daily, keeping them connected while they’re away. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I treat their space and routines with the utmost respect. I follow any instructions carefully, making sure pets are fed, walked, and given plenty of attention and playtime according to their usual schedule. I’m patient and observant, so I notice any changes in behaviour or needs, and I make sure to communicate with owners through daily updates and photos. My goal is to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable while their owners are away. My partner, Harry, joins me during house sits, we're more than happy to do a video call or meet up before hand so you can feel safe and comfortable with us both!

Ben looked after our boy on an incredibly hot and uncomfortable day, and with Ozzy being an American Akita he really struggles in this environment. We found that Ben looked after all of Ozzy’s needs during the period of his dog sit, and Ozzy seemed to really like Ben and was comfortable with him from their initial meet and greet :-) Ben is able to walk Ozzy (55kg) without any issues and was very respectful of our property - everything was left as it was when we left the house. This was our first time using Rover (and any kind of dog sitting service in general), and we are SO happy that we found Ben. We look forwards to seeing Ben again in a little over a week when we go on holiday and I will certainly be recommending him to local family and friends.

About: I have experience of walking and boarding different small dogs and I have a real love for dogs so I will make sure they are happy and cared for when they are with me. I am a primary school teacher who works part-time in the week, so I have availability to look after dogs from Friday evening and all weekend in school time, however I am available all week and weekends during most school holidays. I have walked and boarded a few dogs and I absolutely love being around dogs and playing with them! I will keep to the routines and schedules that the owner has for their dog and try to mimic this when they are with me. I have a small garden that is fenced and secure where they can run around and have lots of places to walk with dogs near to me that have big open spaces to run around and play.

Alice looked after our terrier Luna as a house sitter for four nights. It was the first time we’d left Luna, so we were very keen to find the right person. Alice was fabulous, keeping us updated with messages & photos each day. It was obvious that Luna had a lovely time whilst we were away. We will definitely ask Alice to dog sit for us again. We thoroughly recommend Alice.

About: I’ve previously had my own dogs (lurchers, saluki cross and greyhound cross). I have also volunteered at a local rescue shelter for several years. Additionally I frequently look after neighbours and friends dogs as needed. I currently work on the bank for the NHS, I can pick and choose when I work but still require appropriate notice. This means I can be flexible to a point if notified early. Due to working in the NHS I have an up to date enhanced DBS. I can’t look after pets in my home as I rent, but I have plenty of places I can take dogs in the daytime or visit their own home.

About: Hello! ☺️ I’m Chloe, I’m 21 and currently working at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as a Healthcare Assistant while training to become a nurse. Caring for others has always felt very natural to me, whether that’s looking after people or animals… and sometimes I’m not sure there’s much difference! Animals have always been a big part of my life. My family used to joke that even a quick walk to the corner shop would take twice as long because I would stop to say hello to every dog I passed. Safe to say that love for animals has never gone away. Through visiting the Lake District I discovered my love for hiking and the outdoors. Spending time in nature quickly became one of my favourite things, which means long walks and outdoor adventures with your pets would be something I genuinely enjoy. I also love photography, especially photographing animals and nature. Capturing those little moments of personality in pets is something I really enjoy, so you can always expect plenty of photo updates while you’re away! I love spending time with animals, whether that’s playing outside, grooming dogs, or relaxing in the evening with some sofa cuddles. I’m more than happy to get muddy on walks, throw a ball for as long as needed, or simply keep a pet company so they feel happy and settled while you’re away. I also have a big soft spot for horses. There’s something incredible about caring for such powerful animals that are also so gentle and affectionate. As someone working in healthcare, I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to routines and details. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away, and I would treat your home and animals with the same care and respect I would my own. I update my availability calendar each week as I work shifts as a healthcare worker. This means that during my days off I have plenty of time to give your dogs lots of care, attention, and company, treating them just like part of the family. Please feel free to message me if you’d like to book in advance or check my upcoming availability. I’m always happy to chat and help however I can! As a real dog lover, I treat every pet I care for as if they were my own, and I’m lucky to have some wonderful references that reflect this. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and comfort will always be my top priority. I usually prefer caring for dogs in their own home environment, as it helps them feel safe, relaxed, and settled in familiar surroundings. I also have experience with dogs who can be reactive to other animals, and I’m confident in calmly managing these situations by redirecting their attention and helping them feel secure. I’m also very happy to follow your dog’s usual routine so they feel as comfortable as possible, and I love sending regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing they’re happy and well looked after.

About: I have 15+ years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities — from playful puppies to gentle seniors. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, or overnight sitting, I make sure every dog feels loved, comfortable, and safe while their owners are away I currently work part time. Pet care is a natural and fulfilling part of my daily routine. I structure my days around the needs of the animals I care for — making sure they get consistent attention, feeding, walks, and playtime. I have a fenced garden. I also can offer crate care if required. When pets stay with me, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I maintain a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where they can relax and enjoy their time. Each pet has their own space for sleeping and downtime, and I stick closely to their usual feeding and walk schedules to keep their routine consistent.

Amazing service from Gabby. She looked after my cat and dog with care and attention they needed. My dog is super nervous around new people and I was a little anxious to leave Aira with someone she didn’t know. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Gabby that she was actually a brave girl, came up to her, took the treats, had a bit of fuss, zoomies, ate her meals (which she doesn’t do if she’s stressed) and overall felt quite comfortable around Gabby. So it seems that Gabby really knows how to deal with sensitive dogs like Aira which was very reassuring. My cat seemed pretty unbothered but he was left a few times before, he just lives in his little world where he is the king and others come to serve him… Communication was good and efficient, I would definitely recommend her and use her services again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Bromsgrove

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bromsgrove on Rover is £39.1 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,387 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bromsgrove. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bromsgrove walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bromsgrove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
