“Eve was amazing with our 2 dogs and cat. We were 100% happy and comfortable leaving them with her and they were all happy too. Eve's communications with us were brilliant from the meet and greet onwards. Fantastic petsitter 😁”

“Clare is fantastic and we trust her to look after our dog Lottie (golden retriever) in our home when we're away on holiday. Eight weeks ago lottie had cruciate ligament surgery. As Clare is a veterinary nurse, she knew all about the operation and was more than happy to look after Lottie for us, especially with the restricted on lead walks she required post-surgery. We had daily updates and photos. It's worked out so well that I've already booked Clare for my next holiday.”

“Absolutely amazing! Kira was so great with our Kia but also so amazing with our 2 year old whilst we were faffing around. She also put up with our chatting for nearly an hour after we had gotten back home. Would 100% recommend Kira she is absolutely amazing”

About: I am a true dog lover, and have been all my life. I have owned and raised dogs from puppies through to their golden senior years, and so have experience caring for dogs of any age. Most recently I had lovely Staffy mix girl, who I sadly lost this summer at 14 to old age. Her passing has left a dog shaped hole in my life, so I am looking forward to spending time with your pup as and when you should need. I also have extensive experience volunteering at a Staffy rescue centre, where I regularly go to spend time with and walk the shelter pups. I am retired which means I can be at home all day if your dog prefers to not be left alone. I have experience with senior dogs, and can administer medication if needed. I have puppy experience as well, but my new home means I would request that any dogs in my care be housetrained. I am retired but very active, so would be happy to take your pup for as much of a walk as they need! As a retiree I can be home all day and dedicate the time, attention, and care to your pup that they need. I have a fenced in yard and no other dogs or children in my home. I live in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of nearby walking routes.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was in primary school. My family rescued two dogs, a labrador and border collie. I was responsible for providing the dogs with training, walks and lots of love My neighbours, family and friends have relied on me for many years to check in, feed and play with their pets whilst they have been away or out for the day I’m a caring, responsible and reliable pet sitter who genuinely loves animals and enjoys giving dogs plenty of attention, exercise and affection. I’m confident following individual routines, handling dogs on walks, providing fresh food and water, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and needs, and I’m patient and attentive to their behaviour. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are happy and well cared for. I have recently come back from travelling. I do some volunteer work in the local area on occasion but have availability throughout the week and weekends. I like to be active and outdoors. I own a lovely two bed cottage and have a fenced garden so I have plenty of space for your pet. I also live by lots of woodland which is great for a dog walk.

About: I have adopted 8 elderly dogs since 2012 and have loved every second of making sure they have lived their final days in comfort and with love. I currently work remotely from home so very easy to have dogs here with me - it's a very calm, safe and dog friendly environment. I have a secure back yard that the dogs can play or snooze in - very secure. A lunchtime walk at the nearby park is essential. Plenty of space to explore in the house. No furniture is off-limit!

About: I can only offer day or overnight sitting at your home (not mine). I have always loved and been surrounded by animals. I had a German shepherd who sadly passed a few years back at the grand age of 12. I have always had cats, rodents and a horses. I have also volunteered at a local dog rescue home, dog walking and giving cuddles! I do hybrid working, working from home and I only work in person for 1 full day and 2 half days. Therefore my availability is evenings, weekends and some weekdays (when working from home). Due to living in rental I will only sit/board in the pets home. However I feel this is best for the dog, to be happy and comfortable in their own familiar surroundings. I will aim to do things in their normal daily routine to make the process easier on your pet.

About: I have taken care of dogs for the last 18 months since retiring from the police, I have owned dogs throughout my life, last being my beautiful Akita, I have experience with all breeds large and small. I’m a retired police officer and walk my client dogs most daily , I’m free to cater to all your needs and requirements whatever they may be. I will always try and keep to your dogs routine as close a possible to keep them relaxed and calm whilst you are away so they can still enjoy their time whilst you are away.

“First time using a dog sitter and it worked out really well. We were away for a couple of days for our daughter's wedding so didn't want to be worrying about our dog at such a special time! Linda was completely calm and reassuring. We received a couple of updates with photos but not too many (we had other distractions). Eva seemed to take it in her stride too! Thank you Linda, we would definitely use you again in the future.”

“Diana is brilliant, she clearly loves dogs and was a fantastic house sitter. She had no issue in caring for our recently diagnosed diabetic dog, maintaining her twice daily insulin injections and fairly strict feeding regimen. Have already recommended her to friends and will definately use her again.”

From start to finish, Jess was reliable, communicative, and incredibly kind. It was clear our dog was very well looked after — happy, relaxed, and clearly adored. Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Wrekin
Eve looked after our 4yo Labrador, Teddy, at fairly short notice. She was excellent and talked is through the process as we hadn’t used a dog sitter in our own home before. A very calm and kind nature, Ted seemed to very much at ease around her. She sent us picture updates through the day and the evening which we greatly appreciated! Excellent dog sitter, couldn’t recommend more and will certainly be using her again in the future 👍

Katie was absolutely fabulous with Axel, she even went out her way to come and meet him and us before the booking. Axel seems as though he had a great time with Katie and was chilled out and calm when we returned and had even eaten all of his food which he is particularly fussy about in different situations. Could not fault Katie enough and we will definitely book with her again ☺️

Imogen stepped in at short notice to look after my dog, Rolo, while I travelled to London for a meeting, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She’s absolutely lovely, very reliable, and clearly cares about the dogs she looks after. It gave me real peace of mind knowing Rolo was in such good hands. I really appreciate her help and would happily recommend her to anyone!

Kira came over in her free time before her visit with Ben to familiarise herself the house and Ben and introduce herself to him going out of her way to do this, was very friendly and great with Ben. During the visit she communicated well with me during the day to update me about Ben and my house was left as she found it. Was a delight to have you looking after Ben!

This was our first time using this service and Madison couldnt have been more helpful. She was happy to have a couple of visits before our trip to see if our pets were ok with her. She was respectful of our home, gave our pets lots of love and attention and provided numerous daily updates whilst we away which meant we could relax knowing our pets were safe and happy. Madison is now our trusted 'go to' pet sitter. I highly recommend Madison.

Lucia looked after Lola when we went on holiday and we were a bit nervous as we had never used a dog sitter before. But as soon as we met Lucia all our worries went! She was absolutely lovely and Lola was very happy too! We had regular updates and photos so we knew Lola was happy and safe ☺️ We will not hesitate again to have Lucia back when we go away again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Wrekin walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wrekin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
