“Tamsin was great, would highly recommend her to look after any dog. From the initial booking to the sit she was responsive and when she arrived she was immediately at ease around Snoopy and it was very reassuring to see how he settled with her. During the sit Tamsin gave us updates and even when Snoopy had a few moments she was really great with him.”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and dedication I bring to every dog I look after. I’ve been a dog sister (my mum's dog) for over 10 years, so I understand dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family. I’m extremely reliable, caring, and attentive, and I always treat each dog as if they were my own. I’m fit, healthy, and active, and I walk every day, which means your dog will get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and outdoor time tailored to their energy level. I’m confident handling dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, including seniors who need extra patience and gentler care. I’m naturally calm, affectionate, and loving (dog kisses are always welcome!), and I focus on creating a safe, happy, and stress-free environment. Whether it’s long walks, companionship, or simply making sure your dog feels secure and loved while you’re away, you can trust that they’ll be in caring, capable hands with me. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work full time as a teacher, so I’m available for dog walking in the evenings and on weekends. I already walk daily, so fitting pet walks into my schedule is easy and consistent. Dog boarding is available on weekends only, which allows me to give dogs my full attention, plenty of exercise, and lots of companionship without weekday time constraints. I plan my schedule carefully to make sure every pet receives dependable, high-quality care, love, and attention during the times I commit to. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs, routine, and personality. I always take time to understand a dog’s feeding schedule, exercise needs, training cues, and any special requirements so they feel comfortable and secure. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. They receive plenty of love, supervision, regular walks, playtime, and a calm, safe environment. I keep routines consistent and make sure dogs have their own space to relax while also enjoying lots of attention and affection. In a pet owner’s home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely. I focus on maintaining your dog’s normal routine, providing walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, and any basic care needed. I’m reliable, tidy, and trustworthy, and I always make sure pets feel happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Our little dog Chatty enjoyed the company of Dave in our home while we were away for a few days. He was well looked after and Dave sent us pics and a video of him in our garden. Wouldn’t hesitate to ask Dave to come to our home and look after him again.”
“Sam was fantastic, friendly and professional. He came to look after my energetic GWP with less than a days notice. Rumble took an immediate liking to Sam..helped by cuddles, treats and a long muddy walk with his squeaky ball. What more could one ask for?! I’ve already booked Sam again because he went to a lot of trouble to keep my Rumble occupied and happy. 😊”

About: We live in a beautiful rural area with meadow and forest walks on our doorstep. Having just lost our 2 beautiful pooches at the age of 14 we have an empty home that needs the patter of doggy footsteps! Recently we have become grandPAWents to a beautiful blue staff called Bruno. Our son’s dog, who has just had a week with us whilst he was on holiday. He bought us so much joy and laughter, which has led us to join Rover. My husband works from home. His office backs on to our garden so pooches can have free rein whilst he is working. We are at home most weekends and enjoy walking/hiking when weather permits. We live in a rural area just 10 mins from Shrewsbury centre, so close to amenities and vets if needed. Forest and meadow walks are on our doorstep. We have a large country lodge with plenty of room for your pet to explore inside. Wooden floors and machine washable rugs in case of any ‘accidents’. We have a dog friendly local walk where everyone brings their pooches to play together just a 10 min car ride away if your pet likes to be sociable. We currently have no dogs of our own.., too soon following the loss of our cockerpoo dogs Monty in December and Archie in Feb. Both from the same litter aged 14. They had a wonderful life here. Previously we have had golden retrievers and Labrador’s. I have a fenced garden and we are happy to crate your pet or not crate.. however you have it set up in your home. We can provide a loving, safe, and warm environment for your pet giving you peace of mind whilst you are away
“Bridie came to look after my pooches at short notice. A lovely young lady with lots of animals experience and qualified in their first aid. I didn't have one concern leaving her to care for my pooches in my home. She sent me updates throughout the day and all my dogs relaxed in her company. Felt lucky to have found her and will definitely use again.”

“Eve was amazing with our 2 dogs and cat. We were 100% happy and comfortable leaving them with her and they were all happy too. Eve's communications with us were brilliant from the meet and greet onwards. Fantastic petsitter 😁”

“We could not have been happier with Josie’s care of Misty and our home. Misty had some amazing adventures while we were away and met some new friends, which she loves. Communication was brilliant and we could go away safe on the knowledge Misty was in excellent hands.”

About: Hi, I'm David! I work to ensure that fur babies of all sizes are properly looked after and cared for, with plenty of cuddles and attention. I've spent my life around animals and understand how irreplaceable loved ones are. I am willing to meet up before arrangements to find out whether we're a good fit for each other and your pet(s). Although I am new to this platform, I am not new to what it takes to care for a variety of different animals including Dogs, Cats, Birds, Hamsters, Reptiles and even my sheep named Minty. I love animals and I'm happy to learn how to care for them, even the ones I'm unfamiliar with. That doesn't stop at the type of pet or the personal needs that each may have. I understand that each pet has their own needs, including how long they can comfortably be left alone for. Pets would rarely be left alone for extended periods during my care, and I would send regular photo updates so you can see how they're getting on. Although I have a willingness to learn and adapt, I love animals so much that I would not feel comfortable feeding one animal to another pet (with the exception of bugs/insects). Transparency and honesty are important to me, so feel free to ask me anything. It's very important to me that both you and your fuzzy, fluffy, feathered or even scaly family member feel at peace knowing they're in safe hands. I am also fully DBS checked. In the unlikely event of an emergency, your pet's safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I carry a phone at all times and will contact you immediately if any concerns arise. I am available early mornings and evenings. I can walk your pets for around 30 minutes, more or less depending on their needs, and would keep them within Shrewsbury. During stays I can maintain things like litter boxes and enclosures. If you require assistance with more extensive work, we can discuss things further. I look forward to helping. Pet Care 🐾 I work full time from home on a rota that varies between 8AM-9PM, but most shifts are between 8AM-6PM, and I sometimes work on weekends, because of this I don't have a 'set' schedule, however, I would almost always be available during the early morning, evening or on my days off to take care of your pets. Boarding & Drop-In Visits 🏡 Due to me working from home, if you require a pet sitter at your home I would be available on most days, providing that you have accessible Wi-Fi for me to connect my laptop to and a table for me to work at. If you require Drop-In Visits, I can also accommodate these on most days as my work hours can be flexible, but early mornings, lunch time and evenings would work best for me, let me know your preferences on Drop-In times and we can figure something out. 💕🌼 Pets have needs and wants like the rest of us. It's important for us to be in-tune of what they are, just as we would for ourselves. I know that I wouldn't appreciate my bathroom break being put on hold for an hour; when you gotta go, you gotta go! It's the same for them. 💩 I would give your pets frequent 'potty' breaks/walks to match their personal needs. I would also give your pets lots of love and attention throughout the stay and if you have a set schedule that your pet eats at and likes to take walks, please let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you and your pets needs. If your pet requires medicine, I have done this before and would be comfortable with administering that for them, just let me know beforehand precisely what dosage and how you typically provide that for them. 🩺 During home stays I would leave no mess behind and ensure I would maintain your home and any cat litter trays and/or enclosures. 🧼
“First sit for Florence with Megan. Pooch so excited to see her again after our Meet and Greet. Megan was very calm and managed Florence beautifully. Lovely photos and videos to show how settled Florence was while we were out. ☺️”

“From the moment I met Marie at the pre-sit meeting I knew she would be the perfect sitter for our dog Misty. I really could not have been happier with the house sit - Misty had a fantastic time as we could see from the updates and was extremely well looked after. Marie is clearly very experienced with dogs, and was lovely to deal with, and I felt absolutely confident that the house and Misty were in the safest of hands.”

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have always loved caring for them. I’ve had cats since I was young, rescued 3 lovely dogs, worked at a dog daycare in London, and volunteered at dog kennels, so your pets will be in experienced and loving hands 😊 I’ve just moved back from London to be with family and my aim is to do dog walking/sitting full time so my availability is very flexible, I can be free in the week and on weekends. I currently live in a lovely home with my mum with a fenced off garden for your dog to run around, and spaces in the home for your dog to rest and relax! If you need me to come to your home that’s no problem
“Absolutely amazing! Kira was so great with our Kia but also so amazing with our 2 year old whilst we were faffing around. She also put up with our chatting for nearly an hour after we had gotten back home. Would 100% recommend Kira she is absolutely amazing”

“Annabel helped us with our cat and very timid dog. A couple of nights pet sitting, which we have never done before. Annabel’s patience paid off and slowly gained the trust of our dog, he is genuinely a very complex character, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the experience. We will definitely carry on and book again soon...”

About: I've taken care of so many pets since I was young. I've looked after my friends & families dogs and always had pets since I was young. I've had cats, dogs, snakes, hamsters, rats, mice... you name it! I volunteered at a nearby cat shelter for several years with my sister who is now studying animal care at college. I do PA work for families and mental health support (for humans!) alongside my love of fur babies! I have trained a few dogs and I am very outdoorsy - I love climbing outdoors, walks, and camping! I would love my own pup but can't afford it right now... soon though!! :D I am self-employed, so my schedule changes, but I have plenty of time to ppay with pups! I do PA work for families, work as a wellbeing coach & mental health, and petsit/babysit for my friends & family. We live in a small flat, but happy to have any dogs to stay! We have an unfenced front garden, but I love getting out and about so can take your doggies out as much as they need to go. I sometimes care for my mum's two doggos in case your furry friends like company :))
“Jessica was amazing at helping me out last minute. I was in the area for a funeral and needed dog care last minute when I found out my dog couldn’t be left unattended where I was staying. Jessica helped me out. She was super helpful and got there early so she helped look after Delilah when I was getting ready and took her for a lovely walk! She sent me update photos. Thank you so much Jessica! You are a star ⭐️”

You want someone who will give them all the love and care whilst you are away, I am here to do that for you. I have worked in animal sitting and in kennels for over 7 years. I've completed a pet first aid course, a K9 communication diploma, a pet sitting & walking diploma and a K9 physiology diploma. I hold a current DBS certificate and fully insured. I'd be happy to provide any these certificates if needed. My nightly rates £70 per night, my day rate is charge @ £12 per hour for 1 dog and £10 per extra dogs. where I stay with your pet the whole time. My aim as a Pet sitter is to come into your home and keep your pets in a similar routine as you would keep them, keeping them happy, calm, walked, fed and loved as you would.
“First time using a dog sitter and it worked out really well. We were away for a couple of days for our daughter's wedding so didn't want to be worrying about our dog at such a special time! Linda was completely calm and reassuring. We received a couple of updates with photos but not too many (we had other distractions). Eva seemed to take it in her stride too! Thank you Linda, we would definitely use you again in the future.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Shropshire is £35

Tamsin was a godsend for us over the weekend of a wedding. Our dog has special needs and had had unexpected surgery just before the booking as well. Tamsin was completely unphased by this and was delightful, punctual, professional and considerate throughout. No hesitation to book her for our dog again.

Lois looked after my puppy Phoebe for the day. I’m really grateful for her help and Phoebe had a great day. Lois clearly loves dogs and was great with Phoebe. Got updates and photos during the day so I knew all was going well. Thank you Lois, much appreciated and will definitely be in touch when I need a dog sitter again 😊

We couldn't recommend Becca highly enough. She helped us out with house sitting this weekend for our 12 week old puppy, and he was in great hands. Because was friendly, polite and responsive when we first contacted her, and was happy to have a call to get all the initial details. She confirmed the booking quickly, and was great on the day. She arrived and our puppy took to her instantly. She obviously has great experience with animals, especially dogs, as she could handle him and his puppy stage perfectly. She spent time with us to learn about the routine, house, going out etc., and followed all these throughout they day. She gave us lots of updates and pictures, and seems like they had a great day together. It made our day away much more comfortable knowing he was being well looked after. He was absolutely shattered when we got home, and slept all night. Would definitely recommend Becca to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter, and we're already booking her in for our next away day.

Sarah was a wonderful house-sitter. She looked after our little cocker spaniel and our bengal cat who were both very content during her stay. She provided plenty of updates and Margot our dog got lots of wonderful walks. We were very happy we booked Sarah to stay! Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Shropshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shropshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
