“First sit with Tammy, our boy was immediately comfortable when she arrived & fussed all over him, and seems to have a lovely time. The house was perfectly tidy when we got home. Thanks Tammy! ❤️”

About: I offer genuine love, patience, and attention to every dog in my care. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I treat every dog as if they were my own by offering plenty of affection, play, cuddles (if they enjoy them!), and individual care. I’ve taught my own dog a wide range of tricks, commands, and life skills, and I love keeping dogs mentally stimulated through enrichment games, sniffy walks, fun training sessions, and reinforcing the routines they’re already familiar with. As an inclusive teacher, patience and understanding are second nature to me. I’m experienced in adapting to different personalities and needs, whether your dog is an energetic youngster who loves to learn or a quieter companion who just wants company and a gentle walk. My priority is making sure every dog feels safe, happy, loved, and excited to come back. I offer meeting before any care so you can decide if Penny and I am a good fit. At the moment, I’m staying in Shrewsbury over the summer and into September as I am on summer break as a teacher. This means have a very flexible schedule, which means I can dedicate plenty of time to the dogs in my care. My own dog, Penny, is at the heart of my daily routine, so our days are built around walks, play, enrichment, training, rest, and lots of one-to-one attention. Because I’m home for most of the day, I can easily adapt our routine to suit your dog’s usual schedule, whether that’s multiple walks, medication, training, regular toilet breaks, or simply plenty of companionship and cuddles. I know every dog is different, and I’ll do my best to keep their routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. (As long as you don’t mind Penny coming along for the ride) My priority is making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and part of the family while they’re with me. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and wellbeing will always be my top priority. Whether I’m taking them for a walk, dropping in for a visit, or staying overnight in your home, I’ll care for them with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own dog, Penny. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I take the time to understand your dog’s routine, personality, and any specific needs before we begin. Whether they love long sniffy walks, a game of fetch, enrichment activities, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m passionate about positive reinforcement and canine behaviour, and I’m always attentive to a dog’s body language and wellbeing. As an inclusive teacher, I’m naturally patient, observant, and adaptable, helping even nervous or shy dogs feel at ease. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, settled, and in caring hands.
“Sam was fantastic, friendly and professional. He came to look after my energetic GWP with less than a days notice. Rumble took an immediate liking to Sam..helped by cuddles, treats and a long muddy walk with his squeaky ball. What more could one ask for?! I’ve already booked Sam again because he went to a lot of trouble to keep my Rumble occupied and happy. 😊”

About: I have cared for dogs all my life as my nan has a 5 star breeders license, where I have cared for puppies and helped in welping. I have done varied work experience with dogs such as, dog/puppy training and kennels- where I have maintained cleanliness, fed and assisted owners in training the dogs. In my family I have 3 dogs- Meg, soxs and Walter. Soxs has recently had a litter of puppies. I am currently looking for work as I have recently completed my course in animal management. I can do walks everyday and house sitting on the weekends or weekdays anytime after 3pm I wont be having any pets at home as I have 2 cats that can be nervous around dogs or other cats. But I am available for walks and house sitting
“Eve was amazing with our 2 dogs and cat. We were 100% happy and comfortable leaving them with her and they were all happy too. Eve's communications with us were brilliant from the meet and greet onwards. Fantastic petsitter 😁”

“First sit for Florence with Megan. Pooch so excited to see her again after our Meet and Greet. Megan was very calm and managed Florence beautifully. Lovely photos and videos to show how settled Florence was while we were out. ☺️”

“Bridie came to look after my pooches at short notice. A lovely young lady with lots of animals experience and qualified in their first aid. I didn't have one concern leaving her to care for my pooches in my home. She sent me updates throughout the day and all my dogs relaxed in her company. Felt lucky to have found her and will definitely use again.”
“Josie is just lovely. She came to see us pre-booking to meet Polly & Belle and we immediately felt re-assured we were leaving the girls with not only someone who would care for them but also genuinely loved dogs. She kept us updated whilst we were away and we came home to two very sleepy (hot weather) but happy pooches. A huge bonus was the care and consideration given to our home. It was pristine and she had even washed the bedding! No hesitation in recommending Josie. We will certainly be using her again.”

“Alice took wonderful care of my Labrador, Willow, over a weekend at my house, and she followed all the odd instructions l had left, ensuring that Willow was happy and relaxed with her normal routines. I felt very confident and comfortable leaving Alice in charge; she was extremely responsible and I would definitely ask her to help another time.”

About: Hi, I'm David! I work to ensure that fur babies of all sizes are properly looked after and cared for, with plenty of cuddles and attention. I've spent my life around animals and understand how irreplaceable loved ones are. I am willing to meet up before arrangements to find out whether we're a good fit for each other and your pet(s). Although I am new to this platform, I am not new to what it takes to care for a variety of different animals including Dogs, Cats, Birds, Hamsters, Reptiles and even my sheep named Minty. I love animals and I'm happy to learn how to care for them, even the ones I'm unfamiliar with. That doesn't stop at the type of pet or the personal needs that each may have. I understand that each pet has their own needs, including how long they can comfortably be left alone for. Pets would rarely be left alone for extended periods during my care, and I would send regular photo updates so you can see how they're getting on. Although I have a willingness to learn and adapt, I love animals so much that I would not feel comfortable feeding one animal to another pet (with the exception of bugs/insects). Transparency and honesty are important to me, so feel free to ask me anything. It's very important to me that both you and your fuzzy, fluffy, feathered or even scaly family member feel at peace knowing they're in safe hands. I am also fully DBS checked. In the unlikely event of an emergency, your pet's safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I carry a phone at all times and will contact you immediately if any concerns arise. I am available early mornings and evenings. I can walk your pets for around 30 minutes, more or less depending on their needs, and would keep them within Shrewsbury. During stays I can maintain things like litter boxes and enclosures. If you require assistance with more extensive work, we can discuss things further. I look forward to helping. Pet Care 🐾 I work full time from home on a rota that varies between 8AM-9PM, but most shifts are between 8AM-6PM, and I sometimes work on weekends, because of this I don't have a 'set' schedule, however, I would almost always be available during the early morning, evening or on my days off to take care of your pets. Boarding & Drop-In Visits 🏡 Due to me working from home, if you require a pet sitter at your home I would be available on most days, providing that you have accessible Wi-Fi for me to connect my laptop to and a table for me to work at. If you require Drop-In Visits, I can also accommodate these on most days as my work hours can be flexible, but early mornings, lunch time and evenings would work best for me, let me know your preferences on Drop-In times and we can figure something out. 💕🌼 Pets have needs and wants like the rest of us. It's important for us to be in-tune of what they are, just as we would for ourselves. I know that I wouldn't appreciate my bathroom break being put on hold for an hour; when you gotta go, you gotta go! It's the same for them. 💩 I would give your pets frequent 'potty' breaks/walks to match their personal needs. I would also give your pets lots of love and attention throughout the stay and if you have a set schedule that your pet eats at and likes to take walks, please let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you and your pets needs. If your pet requires medicine, I have done this before and would be comfortable with administering that for them, just let me know beforehand precisely what dosage and how you typically provide that for them. 🩺 During home stays I would leave no mess behind and ensure I would maintain your home and any cat litter trays and/or enclosures. 🧼
“Jessica was amazing at helping me out last minute. I was in the area for a funeral and needed dog care last minute when I found out my dog couldn’t be left unattended where I was staying. Jessica helped me out. She was super helpful and got there early so she helped look after Delilah when I was getting ready and took her for a lovely walk! She sent me update photos. Thank you so much Jessica! You are a star ⭐️”

“Abbie was brilliant, looking after Willow during her recovery from cruciate ligament surgery, which involved specific short, lead walks, a selection of daily physio exercises to build up muscle. making sure she didn't run, jump etc and generally keeping her entertained while she couldn't do her normal active walks. I can see a distinct improvement in Willow's walking over this period. Abbie was very flexible in timings, and she left the house really clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending Abbie for dog sitting, and I would certainly ask her to help another time. Really pleased with our first Rover experience, thanks. Maureen”

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have always loved caring for them. I’ve had cats since I was young, rescued 3 lovely dogs, worked at a dog daycare in London, and volunteered at dog kennels, so your pets will be in experienced and loving hands 😊 I’ve just moved back from London to be with family and my aim is to do dog walking/sitting full time so my availability is very flexible, I can be free in the week and on weekends. I currently live in a lovely home with my mum, dog and cat with a fenced off garden for your dog to run around, and spaces in the home for your dog to rest and relax! If you need me to come to your home that’s no problem

“It has been a very hot week in the UK and our dog Mitchell does not do well in the heat. However: KIM CAME PRIOR TO OUR HOLIDAY TO INTRODUCE HERSELF AND LOOKED AFTER OUR MOAN OLD BOY IN EVERY WAY. KIM EVEN BROUGHT A FAN OF HER OWN IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP HIM COOL. HE WAS NOT STRESSED OR UPS3T WITH US AND I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE EFFORT KIM HAS GIVEN IN LOOKING AFTER OUR DOG. I CANNOT RECOMMEND MORE HIGHLY THIS PERSON TO LOOK AFTER YOUR PET. THANK YOUU KIM.”

“Booked Charlie for the first time to look after our pup & we were really pleased. She is very easy to communicate with and is a kind and respectful person. She came early to get to know our dog first and came across as very calm but confident and responsive to his needs. We left the house feeling he was in safe hands and she sent us pictures and updates. When it came to say goodbye, we could clearly see that our dog had taken to her and we're already looking to her for our next booking(s).”

“Annabel helped us with our cat and very timid dog. A couple of nights pet sitting, which we have never done before. Annabel’s patience paid off and slowly gained the trust of our dog, he is genuinely a very complex character, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the experience. We will definitely carry on and book again soon...”

“Amazing! A very content Doggo on our return after a long weekend. Fantastic updates throughout the stay, put our minds at ease. A very personable carer, who beams when around Dogs (probably any other fluff ball too). House was cleaner when we returned to how we left it. Highly recommended.”

Tamsin was a godsend for us over the weekend of a wedding. Our dog has special needs and had had unexpected surgery just before the booking as well. Tamsin was completely unphased by this and was delightful, punctual, professional and considerate throughout. No hesitation to book her for our dog again.

Lois looked after my puppy Phoebe for the day. I’m really grateful for her help and Phoebe had a great day. Lois clearly loves dogs and was great with Phoebe. Got updates and photos during the day so I knew all was going well. Thank you Lois, much appreciated and will definitely be in touch when I need a dog sitter again 😊

We couldn't recommend Becca highly enough. She helped us out with house sitting this weekend for our 12 week old puppy, and he was in great hands. Because was friendly, polite and responsive when we first contacted her, and was happy to have a call to get all the initial details. She confirmed the booking quickly, and was great on the day. She arrived and our puppy took to her instantly. She obviously has great experience with animals, especially dogs, as she could handle him and his puppy stage perfectly. She spent time with us to learn about the routine, house, going out etc., and followed all these throughout they day. She gave us lots of updates and pictures, and seems like they had a great day together. It made our day away much more comfortable knowing he was being well looked after. He was absolutely shattered when we got home, and slept all night. Would definitely recommend Becca to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter, and we're already booking her in for our next away day.

Sarah was a wonderful house-sitter. She looked after our little cocker spaniel and our bengal cat who were both very content during her stay. She provided plenty of updates and Margot our dog got lots of wonderful walks. We were very happy we booked Sarah to stay! Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Shropshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shropshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
