“Amy has done an amazing job drop in visiting our two cats Tinky and Millie. She is professional, friendly and thoughtful in everything she does. We were kept up to date regularly with any goings on via messages and videos which was a lovely touch. I would not hesitate in recommending Amy and we are already using her in the future. Our cats absolutely adored her, she is a natural.”

“Came home to 2 happy cats, lovely to know they'd been getting plenty of attention while we were away. Gemma kept in touch so we could enjoy our trip without worrying. Thanks Gemma”

About: As a teacher, I am naturally patient, reliable and caring, and I bring those same qualities to looking after animals. I absolutely adore pets and treat every animal as if they were my own. I do not have children, so my own dog is very much my baby, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with your pet. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs, including looking after neighbours’ pets while they are away on holiday, regularly caring for my parents’ and sister’s pets, and dog walking for elderly neighbours. I am confident with animals of different ages and temperaments and always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give to every pet. I know every animal has their own routine, personality and needs, and I am happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. Whether that is long walks, lots of play and attention, or a calm and gentle approach for older or more nervous pets, I will always provide the same level of care that I would expect for my own dog. I currently have 6 weeks off over the summer holidays. Due to not having children, I can be incredibly flexible with pet care. I take my own dog for 3 walks a day anyway and enjoy physical activity. I have one cavapoo boy dog who absolutely loves company. We have a lovely fenced garden that we will often play in, an endless supply of toys and even a small paddling pool for the summer hotter months.
“Gemma was brilliant at making our slightly timid cat be at ease and our cat warmed up to her in now time. Gemma responds promptly and is a brilliant cat sitter. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their furry friend!”

“Thank you Philippa. First time I have left my 2 fur boys without anyone at the house. They are too free range to put in cattery. Liquorice enjoyed her drop ins and so did Clint. A huge relief and peace of mind with someone so trust worthy. Loved the updates on the app. Thank you again”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and dedication I bring to every dog I look after. I’ve been a dog sister (my mum's dog) for over 10 years, so I understand dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family. I’m extremely reliable, caring, and attentive, and I always treat each dog as if they were my own. I’m fit, healthy, and active, and I walk every day, which means your dog will get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and outdoor time tailored to their energy level. I’m confident handling dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, including seniors who need extra patience and gentler care. I’m naturally calm, affectionate, and loving (dog kisses are always welcome!), and I focus on creating a safe, happy, and stress-free environment. Whether it’s long walks, companionship, or simply making sure your dog feels secure and loved while you’re away, you can trust that they’ll be in caring, capable hands with me. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work full time as a teacher, so I’m available for dog walking in the evenings and on weekends. I already walk daily, so fitting pet walks into my schedule is easy and consistent. Dog boarding is available on weekends only, which allows me to give dogs my full attention, plenty of exercise, and lots of companionship without weekday time constraints. I plan my schedule carefully to make sure every pet receives dependable, high-quality care, love, and attention during the times I commit to. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs, routine, and personality. I always take time to understand a dog’s feeding schedule, exercise needs, training cues, and any special requirements so they feel comfortable and secure. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. They receive plenty of love, supervision, regular walks, playtime, and a calm, safe environment. I keep routines consistent and make sure dogs have their own space to relax while also enjoying lots of attention and affection. In a pet owner’s home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely. I focus on maintaining your dog’s normal routine, providing walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, and any basic care needed. I’m reliable, tidy, and trustworthy, and I always make sure pets feel happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: Hello, I’m Karen. Having grown up with dogs, especially varying types of spaniels, my love for them has grown even more into adulthood and I understand that dogs are family. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of dogs. I have 40+ years of experience in dog walking and dog care, with a passion for dogs having a happy home. Whether your dog needs extra belly rubs or a patient companion, I am dedicated to providing a safe, loving environment. I believe love is just a tail wag away. Dog people are my people. No matter how long we have our dogs, it's never long enough. My dogs are not pets; my dogs are family. My experience in Pet Care is from having my own dogs and caring for family and friends' dogs over the years. I have plenty of availability to provide love and care for your beloved pet dog. I will take the initiative to slowly build trust with your dog through patient, consistent and compassionate care. I have a secure garden. The garden is surrounded by fencing and hedging, and includes a gate. The garden has a lawn and patio area.
About: I’ve been an avid animal lover as long as I can remember, having owned my own dog since age 7 and cat since age 16 I have grown to learn more and more every day. I have dog walked and sat for many friends, family and neighbours before as well as having completed a year of work experience at a veterinary practice where I came in contact with every breed, size, shape and temperament of both dogs and cats! This valuable experience has helped me develop my knowledge in pet care and stimulation. Looking after my dog in his last senior years also taught me what senior dogs need, as well as good medication taking techniques. I have done many dog training classes before in a rang of areas including obedience and agility. My passion lies with animals and always will, I thrive in giving pets what they deserve! I’m currently working 8-5pm Mon - Thurs and 8-1pm on a Friday. This allows me to be free on weekends, Friday afternoons as well as both early mornings and late evenings in the week. I drive and own my own car meaning transport is not an issue. I have a large semi-enclosed garden and field with many areas for your dogs to explore and run! I myself am an avid hiker, meaning I know many nice areas for your dogs to go as well as loving to take them on the long, stimulating walks they deserve.

About: Hi, I'm David! I work to ensure that fur babies of all sizes are properly looked after and cared for, with plenty of cuddles and attention. I've spent my life around animals and understand how irreplaceable loved ones are. I am willing to meet up before arrangements to find out whether we're a good fit for each other and your pet(s). Although I am new to this platform, I am not new to what it takes to care for a variety of different animals including Dogs, Cats, Birds, Hamsters, Reptiles and even my sheep named Minty. I love animals and I'm happy to learn how to care for them, even the ones I'm unfamiliar with. That doesn't stop at the type of pet or the personal needs that each may have. I understand that each pet has their own needs, including how long they can comfortably be left alone for. Pets would rarely be left alone for extended periods during my care, and I would send regular photo updates so you can see how they're getting on. Although I have a willingness to learn and adapt, I love animals so much that I would not feel comfortable feeding one animal to another pet (with the exception of bugs/insects). Transparency and honesty are important to me, so feel free to ask me anything. It's very important to me that both you and your fuzzy, fluffy, feathered or even scaly family member feel at peace knowing they're in safe hands. I am also fully DBS checked. In the unlikely event of an emergency, your pet's safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I carry a phone at all times and will contact you immediately if any concerns arise. I am available early mornings and evenings. I can walk your pets for around 30 minutes, more or less depending on their needs, and would keep them within Shrewsbury. During stays I can maintain things like litter boxes and enclosures. If you require assistance with more extensive work, we can discuss things further. I look forward to helping. Pet Care 🐾 I work full time from home on a rota that varies between 8AM-9PM, but most shifts are between 8AM-6PM, and I sometimes work on weekends, because of this I don't have a 'set' schedule, however, I would almost always be available during the early morning, evening or on my days off to take care of your pets. Boarding & Drop-In Visits 🏡 Due to me working from home, if you require a pet sitter at your home I would be available on most days, providing that you have accessible Wi-Fi for me to connect my laptop to and a table for me to work at. If you require Drop-In Visits, I can also accommodate these on most days as my work hours can be flexible, but early mornings, lunch time and evenings would work best for me, let me know your preferences on Drop-In times and we can figure something out. 💕🌼 Pets have needs and wants like the rest of us. It's important for us to be in-tune of what they are, just as we would for ourselves. I know that I wouldn't appreciate my bathroom break being put on hold for an hour; when you gotta go, you gotta go! It's the same for them. 💩 I would give your pets frequent 'potty' breaks/walks to match their personal needs. I would also give your pets lots of love and attention throughout the stay and if you have a set schedule that your pet eats at and likes to take walks, please let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you and your pets needs. If your pet requires medicine, I have done this before and would be comfortable with administering that for them, just let me know beforehand precisely what dosage and how you typically provide that for them. 🩺 During home stays I would leave no mess behind and ensure I would maintain your home and any cat litter trays and/or enclosures. 🧼

About: I offer genuine love, patience, and attention to every dog in my care. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I treat every dog as if they were my own by offering plenty of affection, play, cuddles (if they enjoy them!), and individual care. I’ve taught my own dog a wide range of tricks, commands, and life skills, and I love keeping dogs mentally stimulated through enrichment games, sniffy walks, fun training sessions, and reinforcing the routines they’re already familiar with. As an inclusive teacher, patience and understanding are second nature to me. I’m experienced in adapting to different personalities and needs, whether your dog is an energetic youngster who loves to learn or a quieter companion who just wants company and a gentle walk. My priority is making sure every dog feels safe, happy, loved, and excited to come back. I offer meeting before any care so you can decide if Penny and I am a good fit. I’m staying in Shrewsbury over the summer and into September, as I am on summer break as a teacher. I have a very flexible schedule, which means I can dedicate plenty of time to the dogs in my care. My own dog, Penny, is at the heart of my daily routine, so our days are built around walks, play, enrichment, training, and rest. Because I’m home for most of the day, I can easily adapt our routine to suit your dog’s usual schedule, whether that’s multiple walks, medication, training, regular toilet breaks, or simply plenty of companionship and cuddles. I know every dog is different, and I’ll do my best to keep their routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. (As long as you don’t mind Penny coming along for the ride) My priority is making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and part of the family while they’re with me. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and well-being will always be my top priority. Whether I’m taking them for a walk, dropping in for a visit, or staying overnight in your home, I’ll care for them with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own dog, Penny. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I take the time to understand your dog’s routine, personality, and any specific needs before we begin. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, settled, and in caring hands.

Amy was absolutely fantastic looking after our cat, Smartie, while we were on holiday. As first-time users of a cat sitter, we were naturally a little apprehensive, but Amy put our minds at ease from day one. She visited every morning and evening to feed Smartie and spend time with him, allowing him to stay happy and relaxed in the comfort of his own home. The daily updates and photos were wonderful, and it was clear how much care and attention she gave him. Amy is friendly, professional, highly responsive, and genuinely goes above and beyond. We had complete peace of mind while we were away and would recommend her wholeheartedly. Thank you, Amy! 🐾

Gemma was brilliant at making our slightly timid cat be at ease and our cat warmed up to her in now time. Gemma responds promptly and is a brilliant cat sitter. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their furry friend!

Kirstie took such great care of my three cats. She made extra effort to check on one particularly shy girl to make sure she was ok. Photo and text updates were provided each day so I was able to travel with peace of mind. I would 100% recommend Kirstie to friends and family and will be booking with her again in the future.

Sarah looked after our two elderly dogs today for the first time. One of our dogs is quite shy and sensitive and Sarah was fabulous with him, very gentle and encouraging. The other dog is sixteen and requires additional support which Sarah was happy to help with. We will definitely ask Sarah to look after our dogs again.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shropshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
