About: My wife and I have always had pets and have been around animals since a very young age. Together we have had a Dalmatian who lived an amazing 14.5 years, meaning we have experience in tending to senior dogs. We now have an energetic Fox Red Labrador and 2 affectionate cats. We absolutely love animals and will always go out of our way to make sure that they are happy, loved, safe, and well-fed. We're very patient and gentle and understand that every pet is different. My wife and I work from home fulltime so will always be around to spend time with your pet(s). We tend to walk our dog Nancy early in the morning during the week, either through the fields or at the beach. At the weekend we often try to find new places to explore, making sure to avoid the hottest parts of the day. We have a fenced back garden and live in a nice quiet area on the outskirts of Williton, facing fields with horses and passing steam trains in the distance. We have a very friendly dog who loves the company of other dogs and is great at sharing her treats and toys. We have a hose and paddling pool in the garden to help them keep cool in the hotter weather. We also have 2 very easy going cats who come and go as they please. We can have safety gates in place if required, but we would ask that you only book with us if your dog is happy to be around cats. We want your pet to be as happy and comfortable as possible during their stay with us, so please let us know if they have any particular requirements.
About: I'm in my forties and I've taken care of many pets throughout my entire life ranging from cats, dogs, ferrets, rats and more. I walk dogs for friends and neighbors regularly and love them like my own. As I'm not working at the moment I'm able to take and walk pets all week, even in the late evenings. I'd be available from around 8-9am to 11pm. I'm capable to take care of medicated pets by giving medication or even providing first aid. I have experience in grooming and bathing dogs. Energetic and high maintenance dogs are also welcome as I have experience and am happy to walk far and spend hours with them at the park. I prefer to keep dogs on leash when walking them to avoid any risks.
“Really lovely people with excellent communication. My dogs seemed very happy when I picked them up.i would definitely recommend them and use them again if I’m in that part of the country. Thank you”

“Paddy had the most wonderful time. Shelagh and Pete gave him the best holiday - lots of cuddles and plenty of fun running in their field with their dog Spike. We couldn’t have asked for more. When we picked him up he seemed completely at home so we wouldn’t hesitate to book him in for another stay. Very grateful for all of Shelagh’s care and attention.”

“Amazing experience whit Victoria, Specially when I new I don't have the most friendly dog? From the first meeting my dog Nanny loved her and get very well whit Clara( Victoria's little dog) She is gorgeous. She has send me videos and photos every day and that given me peace of mind and my little girl was very happy and well looked after. I highly recommend Victoria and we will definitely book her again. Thank you Victoria ❤️”

“We kept our 4 legged baby with Liz while we went to Butlins. It was very short notice, and she was very kind to accept to keep him. Neo was well looked after and we got updates from Liz. Thank you so much Liz. Will definitely ask her in future needs. Xx”

“Our dog Chloe had a wonderful weeks long stay with Sarah and her family. She was spoiled and looked after like she was part of the family. We were able to have a wonderful holiday reassured by the regular updates from Sarah.”

“Macy was absolutely fantastic with our french bulldog, Bella, while we were away on holiday for six nights. From the moment Bella stayed with her, it was clear how much love, care and attention Macy puts into looking after dogs, and we were so grateful for how warmly she welcomed Bella into her day-to-day family life rather than just “watching” her. She spent time playing with Bella, made sure she felt included and comfortable, and it was obvious that Bella was being treated like one of the family. We also really appreciated the daily updates, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away and showed just how happy and settled Bella was. Macy is kind, caring, thoughtful and clearly loves dogs, and we would not hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for a genuinely wonderful dog sitter. Thank you Macy for doing such a good job x”

“Jo and buddy were amazing from the first meeting I knew that my dog louie would be more than fine as they were so kind and welcoming. I did not have one worry leaving him with Jo, my only thought was that he would not want to come home after! Louie had the best holiday with Jo and buddy and I can't thank them enough. Would 100% recommend Jo to anyone as it was home from home for my dog Louie ( actually better than being at home I think!) Thanks again you really did put our minds at rest from the first meeting and kept us updated throughout his stay. Louie misses you both already:)”

“Absolutely fantastic! Jo was exceptional in her level of care and made Beau Bo's holiday stay a wonderful experience. Beau Bo was cared for, loved and treated as one of the family and she had so much fun and enjoyment playing with Jo's dog, Mario, and daughter, Skye. Communication was exceptional and I was kept informed and updated each day with plenty of messages, photos and videos. Jo is a kind, caring, responsible and reliable person and I would not hesitate to entrust her to look after my dog again. A wonderful experience for both dog and owner! Can not recommend highly enough!”

“Omg, wow, don’t know where to start!!! Bramble has had the best week with Holly and her adorable dog Benji!!! Think she had a busier holiday stay with Holly than us. A week of adventures which Holly kindly kept us informed of with photos of Bram whilst we were away. Such piece of mind knowing she was being so well looked after and being loved and cared for. Was a bit worried Bram wouldn’t want to come home. Holly has been utterly professional with first meet up etc, and the updates. I can’t thank, rate Holly and co enough, and will be definitely booking again with her. Worth every penny. Thank you Holly 🙏”

“This was the second time Mollie has looked after Rusty, and once again she was brilliant. Rusty was clearly excited to go back, which says it all! It's so reassuring to know he's happy and being well cared for. We were updated with lovely pictures, and Mollie's communication throughout was brilliant. We highly recommend Mollie, and have already booked again!”

I have upskilled my experience recently with an up to date hands on Dog First Aid Course and Diplomas in Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, Animal Psychology, Introduction to Animal Care Certificate and Introduction to Kennel Management Certification. I am also doing an Introduction to Dog Training, Canine Communication, Pet Nutrition and Grooming courses. About: I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a small farm, I was surrounded by both dogs and cats and learned from an early age how to care for animals responsibly. Looking after pets has always been a natural part of my daily life, from feeding and exercising them to ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I take pride in providing patient, reliable, and caring attention to every pet I look after. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your dog as if they were my own. I work flexible hours and can often work from home when needed, which allows me to be available throughout the day to meet your pet’s needs. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, or maintaining their usual routine, I can provide reliable care and attention to help your pet feel comfortable, happy, and well looked after while you’re away. I provide a safe, caring, and reliable environment for every pet in my care. Having grown up with both dogs and cats on a small farm, I understand the importance of patience, routine, and animal welfare. When pet sitting or providing lodging, I ensure pets have constant access to fresh water, regular feeding schedules, plenty of exercise, and a comfortable place to rest. I closely follow the owner’s instructions regarding medication, routines, and any special requirements. For dog walking, I use secure leads and harnesses where appropriate, choose safe walking routes, and monitor pets closely at all times. I pay attention to weather conditions, avoid hazards, and ensure dogs receive the exercise and mental stimulation they need while remaining safe and comfortable. My priority is always the health, happiness, and wellbeing of every pet entrusted to my care.
“This was the first time I had used Rover for my one year old (very small) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Ed and Jan were fantastic. They immediately gave me peace of mind and looked after Fudge really well - in fact, they spoilt her so I am sure she will be keen to go there again!! I would not hesitate in recommending Jan and Ed, and can't thank them enough for looking after Fudge so well.”

About: My partner and I have had pets for our whole lives. I have mainly had experience with smaller dogs and cats that crave the attention and love I provide, whereas my partner has experience looking after larger dogs such as staffs, huskies, and german shepherds. We both adore animals and have passion for pets that we rarely get to indulge in. We can't wait to take care of your pet in our home and treat them like our own. We usually wake up around 6am and go to the gym to be back in the house by 8:30. My partner works from home 9-5 whereas I am currently unemployed and have free time all day to look after your pet. If I do for some reason need to leave the house, it will not be for much longer than 2 hours, so your pet will always have someone close by. If morning pick up or drop off is needed, I am very flexible and will move my schedule around to fit your needs. I have an unfenced garden but have anchor points if your pet would like to go in the garden on a lead. I have a little Jack Russel terrier who is calm with any dogs in his presence once he has had a feel for their vibe. We don't have a crate, but we do have the space for one if you would like to bring your own, and we have a bath in which I can bathe your pet and trim or file their nails if you would like (this will cost extra).
About: Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a 29 year old working professional based in Taunton and I live with my partner in a fully detached house with a large secure enclosed garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to play and explore. I’ve grown up around both cats and dogs all my life, and featured in my photo is our family dog Coco, a mini Pomeranian who I absolutely adore. I regularly dog sit for friends over weekends and love taking their dogs out for walks and adventures in the countryside. I enjoy being outdoors and discovering new walking spots, so your dog will get lots of exercise, attention and companionship. I work from home on Mondays, meaning I’m around throughout the day for walks, toilet breaks, feeding and company. Although we don’t currently have pets living with us, our home is very pet friendly and calm, making it a great environment for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m available on weekends and love spending time outdoors on long walks and adventures with dogs. Most of my friends have dogs and I love going for Saturday morning coffee and dog walks with them. I also work from home on Mondays, so I’m around all day for walks, feeding, toilet breaks and plenty of company. Your dog will get lots of attention, playtime and care throughout their stay! Your dog will be cared for in a calm, loving home with a large secure enclosed garden where they can safely play and explore. I currently don’t have pets, so your dog will have plenty of space and attention. I always make sure dogs are well looked after, exercised, comfortable and treated like part of the family!
“Shelbie was great, I had a mix up with the dates to start off, she was still able to help us at last minute to enable us to have a great weekend away. She kept us informed about Messi all throughout so we were able to relax knowing he was okay. Will definitely be using her again in future. Great service xxx Thank you”

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
