About: I'm in my forties and I've taken care of many pets throughout my entire life ranging from cats, dogs, ferrets, rats and more. I walk dogs for friends and neighbors regularly and love them like my own. As I'm not working at the moment I'm able to take and walk pets all week, even in the late evenings. I'd be available from around 8-9am to 11pm. I'm capable to take care of medicated pets by giving medication or even providing first aid. I have experience in grooming and bathing dogs. Energetic and high maintenance dogs are also welcome as I have experience and am happy to walk far and spend hours with them at the park. I prefer to keep dogs on leash when walking them to avoid any risks.

Reggie had a fantastic three night stay with Jenny. From our first meeting to the stay, communication has been great. During the stay, Jenny sent us plenty of updates and photos, including on his walks. He was having such a lovely time we were a bit worried Reggie wouldn't want to come home! I would definitely recommend Jenny.

We kept our 4 legged baby with Liz while we went to Butlins. It was very short notice, and she was very kind to accept to keep him. Neo was well looked after and we got updates from Liz. Thank you so much Liz. Will definitely ask her in future needs. Xx

Josh and Julie were amazing with my 2 crazy over-excitable pugs. They have never stayed with them before and I was slightly concerned how things would go but it couldn't have gone any better. Will definitely use again. Thank you both so much x

Paddy had the most wonderful time. Shelagh and Pete gave him the best holiday - lots of cuddles and plenty of fun running in their field with their dog Spike. We couldn’t have asked for more. When we picked him up he seemed completely at home so we wouldn’t hesitate to book him in for another stay. Very grateful for all of Shelagh’s care and attention.

Helen was fab with my dog Dora and I didn’t have to worry about her at all while we were away. We got regular updates with photos and Dora was kept busy and happy. Dora is on a couple of medications and these were all administered with no problem. Would definitely book again and highly recommend.

Very happy with the care that Maisy received from Sarah and Richard, I had almost daily pics and messages too just to let me know she was doing well. Very accommodating as Maisy comes with a few additional 'needs', but ultimately what I'd expect from them too as they're genuinely nice people and want what's best for a dog. Definitely hope they'll be available to look after her again in the future, and thoroughly recommend their services.

We couldn't be happier with the care our dog, Bramble, received while we were away on holiday! From the moment I dropped her off, I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such capable and loving hands and that she’d have a playmate, gorgeous Buddy to hang out with too!! It was clear right away that Jo truly cares about the animals she looks after. Bramble was given plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and cuddles. We received updates on how she was doing with photos, which really put our minds at ease and let us enjoy our trip without any worry. When we returned, Bramble was relaxed and happy. It honestly felt more like she had a little holiday of her own! Would 100% recommend Jo to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you so much 😊

Leon spent a full week with Bronte, Sam and their fab dog Teo! Leon was made to feel part of the family and was clearly very comfortable sprawled out on the sofa for cuddles! Plenty of exercise each day and sent regular photos and updates. Bronte was also very helpful when I had to pick him up slightly later. Highly recommended and I’d definitely use again!

If there was a higher rating then Macy would definitely deserve it. Her and her whole family welcomed Jax into their home and were totally amazing. Macy kept us updated regularly with messages and videos. Jax is a young large Doberman with ongoing training for recall and reactivity to other dogs, ao not an easy boy to look after, but Macy went above and beyond expectations Thanks

What could be better than leaving your dog with a vet? Leaving your dog with two vets. Lovely, friendly, hospitable couple, both qualified vets. They looked after my large, energetic lurcher with great care and affection. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

About: Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a 29 year old working professional based in Taunton and I live with my partner in a fully detached house with a large secure enclosed garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to play and explore. I’ve grown up around both cats and dogs all my life, and featured in my photo is our family dog Coco, a mini Pomeranian who I absolutely adore. I regularly dog sit for friends over weekends and love taking their dogs out for walks and adventures in the countryside. I enjoy being outdoors and discovering new walking spots, so your dog will get lots of exercise, attention and companionship. I work from home on Mondays, meaning I’m around throughout the day for walks, toilet breaks, feeding and company. Although we don’t currently have pets living with us, our home is very pet friendly and calm, making it a great environment for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m available on weekends and love spending time outdoors on long walks and adventures with dogs. Most of my friends have dogs and I love going for Saturday morning coffee and dog walks with them. I also work from home on Mondays, so I’m around all day for walks, feeding, toilet breaks and plenty of company. Your dog will get lots of attention, playtime and care throughout their stay! Your dog will be cared for in a calm, loving home with a large secure enclosed garden where they can safely play and explore. I currently don’t have pets, so your dog will have plenty of space and attention. I always make sure dogs are well looked after, exercised, comfortable and treated like part of the family!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
