“Very friendly and looked after our Percy very well. Lots of contact and pictures while we were away. The property lends itself to having dogs stay with a field for walks nearby.”

About: I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a small farm, I was surrounded by both dogs and cats and learned from an early age how to care for animals responsibly. Looking after pets has always been a natural part of my daily life, from feeding and exercising them to ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I take pride in providing patient, reliable, and caring attention to every pet I look after. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your dog as if they were my own. I work flexible hours and can often work from home when needed, which allows me to be available throughout the day to meet your pet’s needs. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, or maintaining their usual routine, I can provide reliable care and attention to help your pet feel comfortable, happy, and well looked after while you’re away. I provide a safe, caring, and reliable environment for every pet in my care. Having grown up with both dogs and cats on a small farm, I understand the importance of patience, routine, and animal welfare. When pet sitting or providing lodging, I ensure pets have constant access to fresh water, regular feeding schedules, plenty of exercise, and a comfortable place to rest. I closely follow the owner’s instructions regarding medication, routines, and any special requirements. For dog walking, I use secure leads and harnesses where appropriate, choose safe walking routes, and monitor pets closely at all times. I pay attention to weather conditions, avoid hazards, and ensure dogs receive the exercise and mental stimulation they need while remaining safe and comfortable. My priority is always the health, happiness, and wellbeing of every pet entrusted to my care.
“Absolutely fantastic! Jo was exceptional in her level of care and made Beau Bo's holiday stay a wonderful experience. Beau Bo was cared for, loved and treated as one of the family and she had so much fun and enjoyment playing with Jo's dog, Mario, and daughter, Skye. Communication was exceptional and I was kept informed and updated each day with plenty of messages, photos and videos. Jo is a kind, caring, responsible and reliable person and I would not hesitate to entrust her to look after my dog again. A wonderful experience for both dog and owner! Can not recommend highly enough!”

“Teddy is so well looked after and cared for when he stays with Laura, he gets the continuity of a family environment plus the company of Lola. Would not hesitate to recommend Laura to anyone looking to leave their dog in a kind loving environment.”

“Margot had another great stay with Talita, Neil and Mala. We were kept updated with fun videos of their walks and cute pics of them relaxing afterwards! Margot always has so much fun and is sad to leave!”

“We needed somewhere for our 11 year old black lab Blake to stay when our daughter got married in Cullompton Devon. Blake stayed with Jan & Ed from Thursday to Saturday. About: I am an experienced veterinarian from Turkey with 4 years of hands-on clinical practice in a busy pet clinic. I recently moved to the UK with my spouse, who is also a veterinarian. While I am currently improving my English to achieve my RCVS registration, my true passion remains caring for animals—and luckily, the language of love and care for pets is universal! In Turkey, my role as a clinician was incredibly comprehensive and hands-on. I didn't just work in the surgery or examination rooms; I provided full-service care, which included: In-home medical treatments and medication administration. Pet boarding management, ensuring all daily needs, feeding schedules, and long walks were perfectly met. Hygiene & Grooming: Experienced in professional bathing, nail trimming, and hair clipping. Behavior & Training: Thanks to my deep interest in animal behavior courses during my university years, I am well-versed in understanding pet psychology and providing basic training. I am looking for part-time pet care opportunities to stay connected to my lifelong profession while improving my English. While I am still building my confidence in human conversation, I completely understand the language of pets. Your furry family members will be in the safest, most professional hands possible! As I am currently managing a flexible schedule while focusing on my language studies, I have excellent availability for part-time pet care. Daycare & Boarding: Your pet will never be left alone. Our daily routine includes regular feeding intervals, multiple refreshing walks, and plenty of playtime. Active Engagement: Since I am home most of the day, I can strictly follow your pet's specific routine, text you regular updates, and send photos throughout the day. Your pet's health and safety are my absolute highest priorities. Coming from a professional veterinary background, I bring a level of clinical awareness that standard sitters cannot offer. I can easily spot early signs of stress or discomfort and manage strict medication schedules or special diets if needed. My home and neighborhood offer the ultimate environment for a pet's happiness: Massive Nearby Park: I live just a 4-minute walk away from a huge park, which is perfect for long, energetic walks and outdoor fun (you can check the park's map in my profile photos!). Secure Private Garden: My home features a secure, enclosed garden, providing an excellent and safe private play area where your dog can stretch their legs safely. Bad-Weather Indoor Play Area: Even if the UK weather turns rainy, your pet won't miss out on exercise. My house has a spacious, completely empty attic that I set up as a dedicated indoor play zone to keep them active and entertained. I handle every pet with the clinical responsibility of a veterinarian and the love of a true animal enthusiast. Your furry family members will be in the safest hands possible!
“Nick communicated well throughout the process and was flexible and friendly. Our pup was well looked after and came home happy and healthy. We had daily photos and updates which was a lovely way to stay in touch.”

“I can’t quite express how thrilled and thankful we are to have found Julia! She’s everything we could ask for in a sitter and our little dog, Heidi had the best time! She was warm and friendly, and loved and cared for Heidi as if she was her own. Communication was excellent - she sent lots of pictures and updates, and responded quickly to messages. When we first met Julia at our meet and greet, she asked lots of questions and took the time to really get to know Heidi and us. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to make Heidi comfortable in her home. She even gave us a tour of her property so that we’d have an idea of where Heidi would be hanging out. Knowing that our girl was in such good hands made it easy for us to relax on our trip, and we didn’t worry about her once. When we arrived to collect Heidi, it was clear that she had really bonded with Julia and they’d become the best of friends - Heidi didn’t want to leave at first and kept running back for more cuddles! Honestly, I can’t praise Julia enough. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful friend to care for Heidi when we go away. Thanks a million, Julia! Xx”

“Holly has been brilliant with Reggie. He stayed for a week and we received regular photo and video updates. Communication with Holly has been great throughout the booking and with the pre-meet. We would definitely recommend 👍😁”

“Josie is absolutely fabulous. If you want your dog to have a wonderful holiday as well, this is your lady. She sent lots of photos, so we could see what a great time Tilly was having with funny comments that made us laugh. Josey had 2 lovely boys who loved on Tilly so much it was perfect. Pretty sure if Tilly could pack her bag she would be going back ASAP. I cannot recommend Josey enough and we already have more breaks booked with her.”

“Flynn had a lovely time with Kerry and Wesley. Kerry was lovely with Flynn and he settled straight in. Regular updates and photos were appreciated. Would recommend Kerry 100% and we will book again.”

“Paddy had the most wonderful time. Shelagh and Pete gave him the best holiday - lots of cuddles and plenty of fun running in their field with their dog Spike. We couldn’t have asked for more. When we picked him up he seemed completely at home so we wouldn’t hesitate to book him in for another stay. Very grateful for all of Shelagh’s care and attention.”

“Hazel had the best time with Andrew and his family. Andrew took her on lots of different adventures, gave her lots of attention and sent us plenty of updates. It was our first time leaving Hazel so we weren't sure how she would be but she was very happy staying with Andrew and had a lovely time. We're very grateful that she was so well-looked after and will definitely book again in future.”

“Anna is an absolute hero! We were let down by another sitter and at really short notice Anna stepped in and took our pup for the night. Patch had a wonderful time going on walks with Anna and her Jack Russell, Herbert. I honestly can't recommend her highly enough. Will absolutely be using again.”

“Yves and Nick took amazing care of our big chap Snoopy this weekend. They sent lots of photos and videos of their adventures and he was clearly a very happy boy staying with them. We will certainly be booking again in the future. Thank you again ☺️ x”

About: We are a dog-loving family based on the edge of Exeter, with over three years’ experience as trained Guide Dog fosterers. Through our work with Guide Dogs, Luke and I have completed official training and have hands-on experience caring for dogs with a range of needs, routines, and temperaments. Before fostering, we’ve always had dogs in our lives as family pets, including supporting with breeding and puppy rearing, so we’re confident and capable with dogs of all ages. Our children (aged 8 and 11) are calm, respectful, and well used to being around dogs, understanding how to approach and interact with them safely. Both of us work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of attention, regular toilet breaks, and consistent care throughout the day, as well as daily walks. We lead an active outdoor lifestyle and enjoy trips to the beach, walks on Dartmoor, and (in the summer!) wild swimming—so there’s plenty of adventure on offer if your dog enjoys it. We live in a peaceful location with a good-sized woodland garden and easy access to beautiful rural walks, giving dogs space to explore, play, and relax. We absolutely love having dogs as part of family life and, while we’re not in a position to have one of our own just yet, we take real joy in caring for others as if they were part of our family. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine as we both work from home, so there is always someone available to provide consistent care, attention, and supervision throughout the day. We’re able to offer regular toilet breaks, feeding at set times, and plenty of companionship. Our days already include walks and outdoor time, which we can tailor to suit each dog’s needs—whether that’s shorter, frequent walks or longer, more active outings. Evenings are typically relaxed and home-based, giving dogs time to settle and feel part of the family. Weekends are flexible and often involve outdoor activities like countryside walks or trips to the beach, so dogs in our care benefit from both structure during the week and enrichment at the weekend. We provide a safe, calm, and structured environment, drawing on our experience as trained Guide Dog fosterers. We follow each dog’s individual routine closely, including feeding, exercise, rest, and any specific training or behavioural guidance provided by owners. Our home is set up with dogs in mind, including a woodland garden for supervised outdoor time and easy access to quiet rural walks. Dogs are never left unattended for long periods, and we ensure they have a comfortable space to relax and feel at ease. We are confident handling dogs with different temperaments and needs, and always use positive, consistent reinforcement. We’re also mindful of safety around children—our two are experienced, calm, and understand how to behave respectfully around dogs. If caring for pets in an owner’s home, we aim to maintain their usual routine as closely as possible to minimise stress, while keeping owners updated with regular communication and photos for peace of mind.
“This was Ruairi's second visit and he went in to Angie and Garry's tail wagging and more than happy to see them. Is is obvious that they provide a loving and caring environment and that he feels safe and secure with them. Thank you!”

“Lauren was fantastic! Our dog can be nervous but she obviously felt right at home and had a great stay. We really appreciate Lauren’s experience and skills and the dedication to the dogs in her care. Thank you!”

Jenny looked after our cocker spaniel Lottie for 12 nights. We had twice daily updates with lovely photos. Jenny was so kind and loving to Lottie, she was treated as if she was her own. We will not hesitate to book Lottie in for her holiday with Jenny again in the future.
Jo and her family took great care of Snoopy, sending regular updates and photographs so we knew he was happy and settled. This was really reassuring and enabled us to relax and enjoy our weekend knowing he was in a safe and comfortable place. I would definitely recommend Jo and I’m sure Snoopy will be back for another visit.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
