“We booked our dog, Nelly in with Claudia last minute due to being let down. She was really accommodating, making sure she knew everything about Nelly before she arrived. Claudia kept in touch during the whole stay, sending videos, photos and updates. Nelly had a fantastic time and looked like she had a better holiday than we did.”

“Matthew took care of our 10 years old German Pointer for a couple of days. I can only say how happy we are with him as the dog was super happy and calm after staying in his house. Great keeper !”
“Nick and his family are so amazing at looking after my dogs. It was the first time of having both dogs and they had a fabulous stay. My dog that has stayed before, was overjoyed to see Nick and both definitely wanted to stay longer! I’m incredibly grateful to Nick and his family for taking such good care of my dogs, so that I could have a much needed holiday. Can’t thank you all enough!”

“I can’t recommend jacqui enough. Our dog, Floyd, was so well looked after and we could see in the videos jacqui shared that he enjoyed being with other dogs. It was lovely being able to leave him and have complete peace of mind. We have already booked 2 further stays.”

“Charlotte and Josh were wonderful carers for our dog while we were away on holiday - easygoing and knowledgeable, reassuring and flexible, they sent us regular updates and brilliantly navigated some difficulties that arode in a really accommodating, professional and sympathetic manner. We couldn't have asked for more, and we wholeheartedly recommend them for your dog-caring. Thank you to you both!”

“My Chow Chow has taken a real shine to Leoni. Lovely environment, plenty of secure mooching around space outside. Had some great photos of my girl there, which makes a real difference. We met up with Leoni and her dog initially just to see how they'd all get on. Then trial of leaving her there for a few hours. All went really well and Leoni takes this all in her calm, relaxed manner. Next step is our first overnight stay. Looking forward to seeing how this works out!”

“This was the first time leaving Maisy, so we were very nervous. However, not only did Mark and his lovely partner accommodate us last minute (due to change of circumstances), but they welcomed Maisy with a very warm and calm nature. This enabled Maisy to settle quickly, putting our minds at ease. Mark sent regular updates, photos and videos throughout her stay. It was wonderful to see her having such a lovely time, being spoilt with lots of attention and treats and being well loved. We would not hesitate to book with Mark again, in fact, we are already planning to, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who genuinely understands and loves dogs.”

“We adore Ela and how she looks after our Mila, she has had her a few times now! Mila always comes home happy and the videos and pictures sent show us how excited mila is with Ela. When we say Ela’s name Mila gets a very waggy tail - would highly recommend :)”

“Absolutely wonderful experience, first time using this sort of service and it’s been a breeze. Lovely couple, kept me informed every day and Harry looked like he had the best weekend. Thank you so much. Will 100% be using your services again if you want too anyway 🙃”

About: I’ve had pets all my life and I just love them. I own a dog and seven cats currently. They are my whole world. I can take your pet for a walk, toilet breaks etc anytime. I will look after your pet as if they were my own. My pets are home with me and my husband too so your pet must like other dogs and cats. Your pets will fit in so well with us and we will love and cherish them whilst they are here. I can provide a safe environment for your pet. I will be happy to give them any medication if needed and lots and lots of love and care throughout the day.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care and attention I give to every dog as if they were my own. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and loving environment so pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I’m patient and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that means extra playtime, gentle walks, or quiet companionship. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine, as I prioritise consistency, reliability, and flexibility. I structure my schedule to ensure I have dedicated time for walks, feeding, play, and companionship, so pets in my care receive proper attention rather than being squeezed in around other commitments. In both settings, I provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know how your pet is doing. I’m attentive to behaviour, health, and wellbeing, and I’m happy to accommodate special requirements such as administering medication, caring for senior pets, or supporting basic training routines.
About: From the age of 6 my family adopted a dog and I walked and cared for him. Since then I have always loved dogs and their very individual personalities. Every time I visit my father in Spain, I happily am the one who cares for his dog. I am currently looking for work that I can do online, so that when I do have work, I would also be able to be home with the dog. Tuesdays and Wednesdays I usually visit a friend to work on an art project, although should you require a full week of dog sitting, book in advance and I can rearrange this. The dog would have access to a fenced garden. There are a few parks locally where the dog can also relieve themselves and exercise. Dogs being pack animals do love attention and I love to pet.
“Mia has been a wonderful person to look after our 10 year old labrador Ella, she is professional and knows how to make both the dog and the owner feel relaxed and trusting that she will take very good care of the dog. She is clearly very experienced with dogs, and knows how to introduce them and make them feel safe and comfortable. Getting daily photos of what outings they have been on made me feel good and confident that Ella was happy and very well looked after - thanks Mia! (and Haley, the lovely retriever)”

“Absolutely brilliant kept in contact with me throughout with photos, Charlie was really happy I’d certainly ask him again, trust is very important as is Charlie to me , I trust Matteo completely.”

About: Hi, I'm Dawn, and I'd love to welcome your dog into my home while you're away. As a lifelong dog lover and owner of a friendly young Sprocker Spaniel, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. My aim is to provide a safe, calm and loving home where your dog will be treated like one of the family—not just another booking. Your dog will enjoy plenty of walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles and attention, along with a comfortable place to relax after a fun day. I'll stick to your dog's usual routine as much as possible to help them feel settled and happy. I'm experienced in caring for others through my professional background in training and care, and I bring that same patience, reliability and attention to detail to looking after every dog. Whether your dog is energetic and loves adventures or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they receive the care that's right for them. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is happy, safe and well cared for. I can't wait to meet you and your four-legged friend! Dog care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending my time with my own dog. My Sprocker Spaniel is a much-loved part of the family and loves spending tine with other dogs, so our days already revolve around walks, playtime, training, enrichment and plenty of cuddles. I work flexibly, which means I can provide lots of company, regular toilet breaks and plenty of attention throughout the day. I enjoy getting outdoors whatever the weather, so your dog will receive the exercise and mental stimulation they need, balanced with time to relax in a calm, comfortable home. I believe every dog deserves to feel safe, loved and included, so when your dog stays with me, they'll be treated as part of the family and cared for just as I care for my own. On the odd day that I have to attend my physical work place, my partner, Neil, works from home so the dogs are never left on their own. My priority is making sure your dog feels safe, relaxed and loved. I'll take the time to get to know your dog's routine, personality and any specific needs so I can provide care that's familiar and reassuring. I have a fully enclosed garden and live close to the beach as well as several nice dog walking areas so every trip out is an adventure. I'll ensure they have regular walks, plenty of playtime, fresh water, meals according to your instructions, and lots of affection and companionship. I'll also keep up with any training routines, medication or special requirements if needed. If your dog stays in my home, they'll be welcomed as part of the family in a calm, comfortable environment with plenty of attention and opportunities to rest, play and explore. If I'm caring for them in your home, I'll stick as closely as possible to your dog's normal routine to help them feel settled while you're away. I'll keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, safe and receiving the same love and care I'd want for my own.
“We are extremely pleased that we found Rhys on Rover. Rhys was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Rhys sent us photos throughout our Cocker’s stay, and it was clear that our boy felt at home with him. He was well and truly worn out when we picked him up from all the wonderful walks Rhys took him on. We are very grateful to Rhys and certainly be using him again in the future.”

“I can't recommend Talita, Neil, and their lovely dog Mala enough! They took care of Moka, our needy Doberman, for just over 10 days while we were out of the country. Communication was seamless, with frequent updates, photos, and videos. Moka had such a great time that we were almost worried he wouldn't want to come back home! We will definitely use their services again.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and today my constant companion is Harper, my wonderful three-year-old cocker spaniel. We spend most days exploring the countryside around Dartmoor, where we live in a large converted chapel in a peaceful Devon village. Life here is a dog’s dream. We’re surrounded by woodland trails, open moorland, reservoirs and beaches, which means plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment and adventure. Whether your dog loves long walks, paddling in the water, playing fetch or simply relaxing in the garden, I’ll tailor their day to suit their personality and energy levels. I work from home, so your dog will have company, attention and regular toilet breaks throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. I also have a secure, enclosed and shaded garden that’s perfect for playtime and keeping cool during warmer weather. Most importantly, I understand that leaving your dog with someone else is a matter of trust. I’ll care for them as if they were my own, making sure they’re safe, happy, well exercised and showered with affection while you’re away. I work full time from home but most of my team is in the U.S, so half my day is my own time to work flexibly which works well during the warmer weather for cool morning walks. I’m available for boarding and house sitting during the week and weekends and I can be flexible for fairly last minute requests. I have a completely enclosed garden that is beautiful and safe. My dog, Harper, is the absolute friendliest cocker spaniel - she’s neutered, very friendly with other dogs and typically follows me around everywhere. I’m happy to take the lead from you on any routines or care your pet requires.
“I was nervous to leave my boy with a dog sitter but I had no reason to worry at all. He has clearly had the best time being looked after by Nicky In her home. Regular updates of how he was getting on, and was great for him to make a new doggy friend too with Nicky’s own dog. I will be in touch next time he (I) need a holiday!!”

“Angela is such a caring person, and both she and her husband are absolutely lovely. Archie was extremely well looked after during his stay and it was clear he was happy, relaxed and in very good hands. We would happily send Archie on holiday to stay with them again without hesitation. They are genuinely lovely people and we cannot recommend them highly enough.”

Tracy was brilliant. She provided a warm and caring environment for Vesper and kept me updated throughout the duration. A home from home experience for Vesper, so much so she wasn't too bothered about my homecoming. I would definitely use Tracy again and would highly recommend.

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
