“Clare is an amazing lady and cat sitter. My cats are usually timid but they are more than happy approaching Clare almost immediately. She sent me daily updates with pics/videos, telling me how she chats to them and plays with them (if they requested it, otherwise respected boundaries). Really set my mind at ease. 100% be requesting for her again!”

“Very happy with how Harriet looked after our two elderly ragdolls. We came home to very happy cats who had clearly been well looked after. Particularly impressed that they had been given a good brush so were nice and fluffy. Totally recommend 🙂”
“Jen was excellent. She communicated clearly prior to our booking, and visited us promptly for the meet and greet. Her updates from the drop-ins were reassuring and accompanied by good photos of the cats. We will definitely be booking Jen again.”

About: I’ve got about 8 years of experience taking care of both my own dogs and my family and friend’s dogs. I’ve handled everything from long and short walks to feeding, bathing, and plenty of playtime. I genuinely love to be around dogs and making sure they’re happy, comfortable and well cared for makes me happy!! I’m currently a university student studying with the Open University, which gives me a lot of flexibility with my schedule. Alongside that, I work a part-time job where my hours are also very versatile, so I’m able to balance both really well and stay flexible making plenty of time for taking care of your pups! I always tailor my care to each pet’s routine and needs. In my home or a pet owner’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, and lots of attention and playtime. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions, including walking routines, feeding preferences, or medication. I focus on keeping pets comfortable, safe, and relaxed, and I treat them like they’re my own.
“Aneta looked after our dogs for the first time at the weekend, they warmed to her instantly and she took time to understand what our dogs liked/disliked. We’ve rebooked Aneta for a week or so in September and we feel happy and comfortable knowing our dogs are in good hands.”

“Tom responded promptly to an urgent request. He attended to meet Shelby and I the next day to go over what was needed and for us all to enjoy the benefits of an introduction as we hadn't met before. Throughout the multi-day booking I was given regular updates. On return Shelby appeared fit, well and her usual self so I would not hesitate to recommend Tom or use him again.”

About: i’ve volunteered to help a doggy daycare care where i helped walk, feed, wash dogs. in the past i have used my home to dog sit for people who needed their puppies trained and who didn’t want to leave their puppies on their own so they would come to me and i would train and keep the puppies entertained for the day i am currently in education, but my schedule is relaxed so i can do tuesdays 9-11am and 2-4pm, thursdays 9-11am and 2-4pm, fridays 2-4pm and anytime on sundays my dog is well loved and well cared for, unfortunately we don’t have a garden but we take him on long walks every 3 hours to make sure his needs are met. he has an array of toys to keep happy and i love playing catch and tug of war to keep him entertained. he eats 2 a day, morning and night, with treats throughout the day when warranted. he is bathed and groomed regularly so it does not affect his health and has his monthly anti worm and flea tablet.
“Ashleigh was great looking after our Cat Cashew while we were away, kept me updated and even offered to go in an extra day to check on him when he was being fussy! Thanks Ashleigh!”

“Beth is amazing. Very accommodating to changing schedules and keeps me informed with regular messages and updates. My collie/lurcher loves her and she makes sure he is well looked after when I am unable to. I highly recommend Beth.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, including my own, who I’ve trained well and raised with patience and consistency. Through this, I’ve developed a strong understanding of dog behaviour and feel confident handling dogs of all types and personalities. I truly love all dogs and believe they should always be treated with kindness, respect and plenty of affection. I’ve also supported neighbours by checking in on their dogs and friends have trusted me to dog sit in their homes. During those times, I’ve made sure each dog is well fed, exercised, and given lots of affection and love - just as I would my own. I take pride in creating a safe, happy and comfortable environment so both dogs and the owners feel at ease. I work a 9 to 5 schedule, which means I’m available for dog care in the early mornings, evenings and weekends. I can provide morning walks or check-in before Work and I’m fully available in the evenings for feeding, walks, playtime and giving your dog lots of attention. Weekends are flexible, so I can offer longer stays, extended Care, or more dedicated time with your dog. I’m organised and committed to making sure each dog’s routine is followed closely so they feel comfortable and settled whilst you’re away. I provide Care for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I understand how important it is to maintain dogs usual routine, so I make sure to follow their feeding schedule, walking routine and any specific care instructions closely. When caring for pets, I give them plenty of attention, playtime and affection as well as ensuring their wellfed, exercised and settled. I treat every dog as if they’re my own with kindness, patience, and care. I’ve been trusted by friends to dog sit in their homes and my neighbours to check in on their pets, so I’m respectful of both your Home and your pets needs. Please note that I don’t offer boarding at my own Home, but I’m happy to care for your dog in their familiar environment where they are happiest.
“Catriona was lovely to meet and our cat was well behaved and happy to play with her. Followed our instructions whilst away and kept to agreed visit times. Would recommend her if looking for a cat sitter.”

About: I have loved animals my entire life, growing up with cats, rabbits, ducks and hamsters and owning a dog as an adult. I understand that your pets are very important, and my top priority is to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you are away. Until recently we had a blind Labrador who was almost 13, who we had from 8 weeks old. So have had experience of dogs and one with extra needs (she was only blind for the last 3 years). I have looked after family dogs and walked friends dogs too. I grew up with cats and have had some since they were kittens, so lots of cats when I was younger! I am a primary school teacher so I have lots of time during school holidays to look after your pet, and I am available most days. During term time I am able to visit early morning, before 7:30am and evenings after 6pm. Evenings are best if you should require me to walk your dog (during term time) and during school holidays I can do any times. Whether your dog needs a high-energy walk around the neighborhood or your cat prefers quiet, patient companionship and laser-pointer games, I can tailor my care to each animal's unique personality. I am experienced with all life stages, from energetic puppies and playful kittens to senior pets who need a gentler touch and strict medication schedules. I will follow your feeding, exercise, and house rules to keep your pet's routine completely consistent When visiting other people's houses I am very careful and ensure that it is left as I found it, ensure the animals are happy and can even send photos to you!
About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats my whole life, providing love, exercise, and companionship. Experienced with various breeds and personalities, I ensure pets feel safe and happy. Schedule: Working from home allows me to stop by for daytime check-ins as required. I’m available for evening walks and longer, more enjoyable walks on weekends. I have a fenced garden however will not be accepting boarding in my home due to my two cats needing their own space. Happy to attend an owners home to care as needed
About: My story 🐾 I’ve always loved animals! I grew up with rabbits and in 2022 I spent time in Italy caring for 3 dogs, 4 cats, and a rescue bunny while helping on a house renovation. Later that year, my partner and I opened a Rover profile and cared for lots of wonderful pets. After some travelling, we’ve now settled in Devon with our 1-year-old dog, Alby 🐾. My partner works full time, and I’m reopening the pet business alongside my part-time work. Animal Care 🐾 I am available for day or night pet sitting, walking, and drop ins, and we are considering boarding in the future too. I can care for your pup, cat or small animal. I am happy to arrange a free meet and greet before walks and sits. I’m very active and enjoy walking and exploring so will enjoy taking your pup for walks or keeping your cats healthy and active. However, if you need me to be purely at the house then that is fine too. As an owner you can tell me how you would like your pet to be looked after, and I will look after them as such. So, if you have a super strict schedule for them that’s fine or if you’re really laid back, that’s fine too! I may bring my dog Alby on some walks too. Please let me know if you would prefer him not to attend. He is such a loving boy and has been attending daycare whilst we have been working full time – so he is used to a variety of other breeds and temperaments. He will be a great pal for your dog! I have administered medication for pets before and with clear instructions would have no quarrels with taking on that extra responsibility. Prior to a sit, please let me know your vet details, backup contact, feeding & walking schedule, or if they require any medication. I know how important it is to feel your pets are safe, happy and well cared for when you’re away. 🐾Whether it’s a fun walk, a cosy overnight stay, or keeping their usual routine. I have cared for dogs of different sizes, ages and temperaments and will tailor each booking as such. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout. Availability 🐾 I will be working part-time hours at my regular job so if my Rover profile is showing some unavailability please feel free to message me if you need care during these hours and I will see what I can arrange. About: I have taken care of many animals over the years… right from when I was 6 years old! Growing up in New Zealand, I owned many different types of pets from rabbits to horses. My family have always owned dogs and have had several different breeds, all with their own unique personalities so I know how to adapt the care I give to ensure your beloved family member gets the best care! I am a mum to two young children so I spend a lot of time at home so am able to make sure your furbaby is well cared for. If for whatever reason I need to pop out, my husband would be at home so your pet would never be left alone for long periods of time. I am here to offer a few services for your beloved pets. From boarding where your pet will stay in my family home to dog walking where I'll take your fur baby to a local park etc. I tend to do long walks around 4 miles or so, but can take different equally as fun routes if your pet isn't up for as long walks! I live in the beautiful town of Dawlish so there is a countryside park around 10 minutes away, a few grassy areas and most importantly, the beach! We currently live in a 2 bed ground-floor apartment with my 2 children and my husband. Although we don't have a garden, I take all our doggie guests out often during the day for short walk around the block so they have time to go toilet. These walks are separate to the 4 mile walks as previously mentioned! I can walk your dog as often as needed. Your pet will have free roam of the open plan kitchen and living room. They will be allowed on our comfy sofa to have a rest and cuddles! My kids are brilliant with pets, they are being taught how to handle animals safely and are learning when a dog has had enough playtime/ cuddles, and will never be left alone unsupervised with your pet. I am an extremely trustworthy and reliable person. You will be able to rest assured knowing that your pet is in the best care where they are being walked lots, played with and cuddled for the whole time your away. I will also send you updates and pictures while you are away so you can see for yourself how much fun your pet is having! And just so you can be absolutely certain I am one you can fully trust, I have a full enhanced DBS and can provide references if required.
About: Growing up my family has always had dogs and these have all been of varying breeds and sizes. When I moved out of my family home my partner and I decided to get a golden retriever, Harley, so any dogs coming to stay will need to be comfortable around him. Harley is very welcoming to any guests and is used to spending time with small, medium and large dogs so will be good company for your pet. I have a flexible job that enables me to work from home. It is a very sedentary job so I like to go on walks and be outside in my breaks and free time. We live in kingsteignton with an enclosed garden and a gate that opens up onto a park so ideal for the dogs. (Both the garden and park are in the pictures). This means we have several walks on our doorstep but we also like to drive to some. We love going on long walks with Harley and we like to keep the routes varied so we never really do the same walk two days in a row. We have no children and Harley is our only pet.
About: I've grown up with a variety of pets my whole life and have always been an immense animal lover! Because of this, I am often relied on by friends and family to look after their fur-babies whilst they are away and also have lots of experience house-sitting. I'm at my happiest when I'm around dogs and animals and giving them the love and attention they deserve. I own my own home so I'm therefore very responsible and respectful of whoever's home I'm staying in. I will be sure to follow your instructions regarding pet care and certain things around the house. I currently work full-time Monday to Friday so I would be available to look after your pup(s) from late afternoon on Friday until Sunday evening (or early Monday morning). On some occasions if need be, it may be possible for me to work remotely from your home (if WiFi permits and dependant on your facilities but I would need plenty of notice for this). Over the weekend I will be on hand every couple of hours to give your fur-babies my undivided attention, walkies and play time! I would also be available to pop in for checks and short walks during weekday evenings as well. I have a handsome miniature dachshund who keeps me company while I work from home during the week. I have a fenced and secure garden and have a car seat cover that covers the entire back seat meaning we can go further afield for walks as where we live has lots to offer on our doorstep for a variety of walks and terrain. We tend to go on two walks a day and perhaps a longer, more adventurous one on the weekends.

“Excellent sitter. Great communication, care and attention to detail. Dominika took the time to understand my cats’ need for a calm environment, which I (we) really appreciated. They were happy and relaxed when I got home. I’ll definitely be making more bookings. ”
“I could not be happier with Danu and Chris. They paid so much attention to detail and I felt so reassured. One of my cats needs lots of medication which they delivered with confidence and ease. I personally think its very hard to find a great pet sitter and these are second to none. 100% recommend! Thank you🐾”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Teignbridge
Tom is an excellent cat sitter, he was able to accommodate our last minute booking for drop-in visits and took the time to build up some trust with our cat who is quite nervous of new people. We received detailed updates and felt very comfortable that everything was well taken care of while we were away. Thank you!

Extremely happy with Harriet looking after Roly and Atti. She kept me updated with messages and photos and ensured they were kept comfortable in the heat. When I returned home from my time away they were calm, well fed and happy. The sure sign of a good sitter. Would happily call upon Harriet again to look after my boys (if my long note of their requirements has not put her off 🤔🤣)

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Teignbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
