“Emily was great. She was available short notice for us after a friend wasn’t able to look after our cat and she really helped us out. Excellent communication, flexible in terms of our pets needs, attentive and caring. Will definitely use again :)”

“Emma was great. She booked several visits to look after our blind cat at short notice, and was a real life saver. It was peace of mind knowing Jimbo was well looked after whist we were away. She uploaded photos from each visit, which were nice to look through once my phone had signal! I recommend :)”

“Rebecca did a super job looking after our cat Ziggy. She was easy to contact and always responded quickly. She attended at the times requested and send loads of lovely photos. Ziggy can be a bit nervous but he clearly enjoyed her visits making friends with Rebecca. I would highly recommend her and will definitely use her again she was excellent 👍.”

About: As a family household we are huge dog lovers and have lots of experience caring for all types and sizes of dogs. Since losing our own beagle, we’ve found ourselves really missing the joy of having a dog around. Whether your dog loves walks, play or just a cosy cuddle, they’ll be treated like part of the family in our house or their own. Pet care fits naturally into our routine. I work part time with someone home from 2:15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays ( we leave at 8.30am) , and full-day at home availability on other days if needed between myself and my husband Drew. We’re really excited to meet your loved ones and give them lots of attention, company and care. Our two children are around on weekends and evenings. They have grown up around both excited and nervous dogs, so they understand different behaviours and needs. Dogs are never left unattended and are always treated as part of the family. For dog walking or drop in services please check our availability calendar. Our normal availability is Monday 9.30-2.30 Thursday 9.30-2.30 and then 18-21. Saturday and Sunday all day, children will attend on weekends and holidays. Only one dog per walk unless a additional same family dog member is added. We care for pets in a calm, loving home environment and follow each dog’s usual routine as closely as possible. We have a fully fenced garden for safe outdoor time, as well as nearby fields and woodland for walks, and we’re also happy to travel by car for variety if your dog enjoys different walking spots. Dogs are supervised at all times and included in family life, with plenty of play, affection and rest. We’re happy to accommodate crates if required and can follow any specific instructions around feeding, exercise, medication or routines to help your dog feel settled and comfortable during their stay. Before we start walking your dog, we’ll take the time to get to know them properly. We’ll ask about the type of walks your dog enjoys most. We’ll also discuss their routine, recall, behaviour around other dogs and people, any training cues you use, and any health or mobility needs. This helps us tailor each walk to suit your dog’s personality, energy level, and wellbeing, so they feel happy, safe, and confident every time they’re out with us. Our dog walking service is one dog only at a time. Unless it’s an additional same family dog add on.
“I hired Réka to look after my two cats while i was away for my wedding. Réka is such a lovely girl and I felt instantly at ease meeting her in person. I could tell she was trustworthy right away and would be a calming presence for my cats. She gave us thorough updates of the cats during every drop in along with photos, so I knew they were both alright. When I got back home, my cats did not show any signs of stress and seemed very relaxed. This is a big thing as my older cat Kiki is very shy and becomes stressed easily with new people. It was nice to know that she had been comfortable while Réka took care of them and I would definitely ask Réka to help us out in future! Thanks again!”

I felt my cat was well looked after during our recent break over the bank holiday. Great interest in the cat whilst preparing for our absence, asking the necessary questions. During our absence, we received updates that reassured us he was just fine without us. Thank you, Joe. We will ask for your assistance again when we need it. 👏

Very very good . Highly recommend Victoria. Other than just feeding our cat took time to give her a lovely fuss which she really enjoyed and Victoria sent pictures of visits . My friend has used Victoria too which is where I heard about cat in a flat in the first place.

Karolina is fantastic 👏 did a fabulous job of looking after my 3 cats!! Especially since I had so many things for her to do she was so considerate and nothing was too much trouble! Fit me in last minute too! Kept me in the loop and came home to happy cats 🐈 highly recommend her and will be using her for any future sitting!! Thanks so much 🙏

Our first time leaving Elsa with someone she doesn’t know and Skye was brilliant! Communication was spot on, she made sure that Elsa was able to choose whether to interact and even came in earlier for us knowing that her usual feed time was incredibly early! We’d 100% recommend Skye!

I hired Réka to look after my two cats while i was away for my wedding. Réka is such a lovely girl and I felt instantly at ease meeting her in person. I could tell she was trustworthy right away and would be a calming presence for my cats. She gave us thorough updates of the cats during every drop in along with photos, so I knew they were both alright. Could not fault Sophie if I tried. My three absolutely adored her visits and this was shown with my least social one also being home for every time she came over. Sophie did everything requested and more. My kitties warmed up to her very quickly and I was kept up to date the entire time with pics and notes regarding visits. 100% going to book again. Thank you so much, and Oreo says meow.

Kate was amazing looking after my cat Silkie while I was away. She sent me lots of photos and videos after each visit, along with updates on how he was doing, which gave me real peace of mind. It was clear she genuinely cared for him, she even picked up on how happy he was to see her when she visited, which meant a lot to me. She was so kind and complimentary about Silkie too. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Kate again. Definitely recommend!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plymouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
