Amber was fantastic with my two spaniels. They have been away from us before, but Amber settled them down no problem. Even sent us photos throughout the day. Highly recommend👍

Anindita was absolutely brilliant with Cookie, it was our first time using Rover & Cookie is very attached to us so I wasn’t sure how it would go, but from the moment we saw Anindita, Cookie warmed to Anindita immediately. Anindita was calm with Cookie while they accustomed to one another & they played a little together & Cookie settled quickly. I felt so relieved & comfortable leaving Cookie with Anindita, I will definitely rebook again, thank you Anindita :-)

About: I’ve always been pet sitting my family members/friends pets since I was little and have always loved it! Now that i’m at university, I don’t see their pets that often anymore and since im far away from home and love animals i decided i’d like to start pet sitting around where I live! Since it’s summer time, I have lots of time to hang out with your pet/check up on them, I’m available anyday after 10am I have no pets at home yet, my house is pet safe, big and comfortable for any type of pet. I’m happy with small and big pets.

Having never used Rover before, I was a bit nervous, but Daryl quickly put me at ease. He’s been fantastic at reassuring me and sends detailed updates after each of Flossy’s visits. It’s clear from the way he cares for his own dog, Cooper, that Floss is in very safe and loving hands. She’s looking forward to building a new friendship with both Cooper and Daryl.

About: I have always been surrounded by pets and have grown up caring for animals alongside my family. As my parents and grandparents have gotten older, I have become a reliable and trusted dog walker and cat sitter for several years. My parents much-loved Border Collie, needs plenty of playful attention, exercise, affection and companionship. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, loved and cared for when their families are away. I would love the opportunity to give your pets that same care, attention and love while helping you feel confident that they are in safe hands. Myself and my partner have different work schedules to fit around pet care. When I am working, my partner is currently on maternity leave so is able to care for your pets. We have a fenced garden and lots of local walks near the house. We have enough space for a crate should your dog prefer this and plenty of space to play and roam.

About: Happy, caring and energetic dog walker looking for new 4 footed friends to walk. I have ample experience walking many different dogs. I love a good long walk, don't know who enjoys its more, me or the dogs! i'm also very happy to host a dog or 2 in my house. I will happily do pop in visits for dogs that are at home all day. I have been caring for animals for many years, I grew up surrounded by animals, mainly dogs. for much of my teenage life i worked in a stables where i would help care for the 13 (yes 13!) stable dogs that ruled the roost. I have also volunteered at a few animal shelters where I would help acclimatise strays by being their primary carer. I currently have a small female dog and a large male (neutered) tabby cat. Both are friendly and welcoming to guests. I have an enclosed garden for pets to Enjoy and I’m a 2 min walk from Tothill park, a wonderful place for dog socialising and exercise. In April 2026 I welcomed my son into the world so our guests need to be ok with children. Look forward to meeting you all soon!

Bridget was fabulous throughout! We were visiting Plymouth for a family funeral so didn’t really know what to expect. We had several communications before our dogs stayed, which put our minds at rest. Bridget was quick to respond to messages and keen to help. She also gave us regular updates and videos through the day. We couldn’t have asked for better care. I would thoroughly recommend Bridget and will definitely book again when we’re down in Plymouth. Thank you from Izzy and Jet too 🦮🐕‍🦺🐾

About: I've grown up around dogs, so having muddy paws around the house feels pretty normal to me. My grandad was a well respected vet, which meant I was lucky enough to meet dogs of all breeds, ages and personalities, including plenty of rescue dogs! I have just moved out of my parents house which has meant I no longer have my two beloved border terriers to keep me on my toes! I work from home full time so your dog won’t be left counting down the hours until you’re back. They’ll have plenty of company, lunch time walks and lots of cuddles of course! I work from home full time, so I’m lucky to have plenty of time during the day to look after your furry friend and keep them company! My partner also has a flexible job, which means we would happily adapt to their routine and make sure they are well looked after. I’m active and love spending time outdoors, so getting out for walks is something I really enjoy! Whether they’re up for a longer walk or just a good explore of the local area, I’d love to have them join me and become part of my day. We have a fenced garden with lots of room for your dog to run around and enjoy some outdoor time! There are plenty of walking spaces nearby, including a forest 5 minutes walk away, so there are lots of options for longer walks and shorter strolls. We’re not a strict household, if your dog is allowed on the sofa at home, they’ll be more than welcome to relax on ours too! We’ll always try to keep them to their usual routine and make sure they feel comfortable while they’re with us.

About: Harriet and I have been surrounded by dogs our whole lives, and today we share our home with two much loved companions: Pablo, our energetic Collie, and Domino, our affectionate Dalmatian. Having one male and one female has given us genuine hands on experience with the different temperaments, energy levels, and needs that come with each, so whatever your dog’s personality, we know how to make them feel understood and settled. What truly sets us apart is the life we have built around our dogs. We are fortunate to have Hartley Park just a two minute walk from our house, and we visit two to three times daily, rain or shine, so your dog will enjoy the same consistent exercise and stimulation ours do. Beyond our local routine, we love exploring scenic routes around Plymouth and taking on adventurous hikes through the Highlands and Welsh mountains during our own holidays. Their wellbeing shapes our daily routine, and we would be delighted to offer your dog that same standard of care. Your dog will have their own comfortable bedroom, personalised feeding and sleeping arrangements, and regular access to a secure garden. If you use a crate or have a specific routine at home, we are more than happy to follow your exact instructions so your dog’s stay feels as familiar as possible. Sociable dogs are welcome to join the household and play alongside Pablo and Domino, while dogs who prefer a quieter pace can enjoy their own space with frequent toilet breaks, enrichment, and walks tailored to their comfort. Pet care is a central part of our daily life. Harriet works from home full time, and Robert works remotely two days a week, which means that every day, there is always someone at home to care for the dogs. On weekends, we are both available and fully dedicated to spending time with them. When we are looking after dogs, they become our main priority. We adjust our schedules as needed to ensure they receive consistent attention, exercise, and comfort throughout the day. Whether it is walks, playtime, feeding, or rest, your dog will be well cared for in a calm and attentive home environment. We understand that leaving your dog in someone else’s care requires real trust, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Your dog will be staying in a calm, clean, and secure home where their comfort and safety come first. Each dog has their own private bedroom with dedicated sleeping and feeding arrangements to ensure a familiar, stress-free environment. They will have regular access to our secure garden for toilet breaks and fresh air. If they are sociable and enjoy the company of other dogs, they are welcome to roam the house freely and interact with our own two friendly dogs, Pablo and Domino. If they prefer their own space, we will follow your preferences to keep them settled and content. We closely supervise all interactions and tailor our care to each dog’s temperament, energy level, and routine. Whether your dog needs quiet time, structured walks, or enrichment play, we adapt to ensure they feel safe, happy, and truly at home.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We left our two dogs for part of the day while we attended our daughter’s university graduation, and it gave us complete peace of mind knowing they were so well cared for. I was particularly worried beforehand because one of our dogs can be quite anxious and barky in new situations. I needn’t have worried at all. From the moment we arrived, both dogs settled straight away, which immediately put us at ease. She was warm, friendly and clearly has a genuine love for dogs. She kept us updated with lovely photos throughout the day, which was so reassuring and allowed us to fully enjoy the celebrations without worrying. When we collected them, both dogs were happy, relaxed and incredibly chilled, which says everything about the care and attention they received. They had obviously felt safe, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed their time with her. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy dog daycare. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our dogs and helping make our daughter’s graduation day even more special.

When we picked him up his behaviour immediately showed that he loved Nikita and he was still playing with her dog happily. Very happy - will use again :-)

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Plymouth on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 230 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Plymouth. About 91% of Plymouth sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Plymouth commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
