“Amber was fantastic with my two spaniels. They have been away from us before, but Amber settled them down no problem. Even sent us photos throughout the day. Highly recommend👍”

“Thanks for taking great care of Charlie whilst he had a poorly foot after running into a tree on the evening before his stay. We managed to get a vet appointment in the evening after his stay and he ended up having nail surgery! He's now on the mend and we will be planning future dog-sitting soon. Thanks again for caring for him whilst he was limpy.”

“Having never used Rover before, I was a bit nervous, but Daryl quickly put me at ease. He’s been fantastic at reassuring me and sends detailed updates after each of Flossy’s visits. It’s clear from the way he cares for his own dog, Cooper, that Floss is in very safe and loving hands. She’s looking forward to building a new friendship with both Cooper and Daryl.”

“Tegan was absolutely amazing! She responded quickly to messages and we met in the park to see how she and Tala would get on. They took to each other immediately and I was confident that Tala would be in good hands. This was my first time of leaving Tala with anyone other than family so I was a bit anxious about it but needn't have worried - Tala had a fabulous time! Tegan had her 3 days in a row and when I dropped her off on the second day, she happily ran into Tegan's house, wagging her tail :-) I work long shifts so Tegan had Tala all day long and Tala was always happy and relaxed when I picked her up. She had plenty of walks and cuddles and I suspect she wouldn't mind moving in with Tegan permanently!”

“Thank you so much Hannah for looking after Cookie today. Cookie took to you straightaway & I was very happy to leave her with you. Hannah was brilliant at communicating throughout the whole process & sent photos, videos & updates of their time together, which looked very fun & caring. Absolutely perfect, we will return 🤩 x”

“lauren and her family was outstanding with zulu today. Gave her lots of reassurance and lots of loves when needed and had a fantastic day. Lauren kept me updated on how zulu was during the day and understood from when we first met and the meet and greet what zulu needed for today to happen has exceeded my expectations. Knowing zulu spent time with the kids today gave me lots of reassurance that zulu is a great companion and is gentle when playing with her toys and being around small children. I would highly recommend booking again. Thank you so much and look forward to seeing you again soon from Zulu and Amy”

About: I currently own a 14 year old male Chihuahua named Milo. Myself and my boyfriend live in a home near central park but also have a lovely secure garden. In November 2025, alongside working full time I have been providing dog/house sitting for a 13 year old Pekingese, 2 guinea pigs and chicken where I offer a high level of care, administer oral medicine and take care of eye treatment and I understand the importance of patience, routine, and attentive care — especially with senior dogs. I have really taken to enjoying looking after someone else's pets so I registered as self employed and have decided to pick up some Rover clients too! I have experience with owning my own dog, a rabbit when I was around 11, plus my grandparents had sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, and all manner of farm animals which I was happily involved in from a young age! My work schedule varies as I currently work full-time, with typical shifts falling between Monday–Saturday (8:30am–5:30pm) and Sunday (10am–4pm). However, I’m always happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs and come to an arrangement that works best for them. Whether your pet is comfortable with shorter periods alone or requires more companionship, walks, medication, or check-ins throughout the day, I’ll always be transparent about my availability and ensure they receive the care, attention, and routine they need to feel happy and secure. My home provides a safe, clean, calm, and loving environment for your pet while they’re in my care. I live in a house with a fully enclosed and secure garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to enjoy. I will be the sole caregiver for your pet, allowing me to provide consistent attention, supervision, and routine throughout their stay. I’m experienced and comfortable caring for dogs with additional needs, including administering medication and following specific dietary requirements or schedules. Having a senior dog myself, I understand how important patience, gentle handling, and maintaining familiar routines can be. My Chihuahua, Milo, is very friendly and still enjoys his daily walks — whether that’s a shorter 20-minute stroll around the block or longer 50–60 minute walks around the Central Park loop, depending on your dog’s energy levels and needs. Your dog’s comfort and safety will always come first, which is why I strongly recommend a meet & greet before any initial booking. This helps ensure everyone gets along well and gives you complete confidence that your pet will feel happy, secure, and relaxed during their stay.
About: Me and Joel have had Milo for 9 years and looked after many dogs over the years. We will treat your dog like our own with lots of love. Joel works from home full time so is very flexible with timings and is around all day. I’m a vet, but I’m off Friday-Sunday every week. We are very relaxed and will allow the dogs to be on the sofa and bed. We have a fenced garden and can let the dogs out as often as you would like us to. We would never leave your dog alone. Milo has lots of food allergies so we are very sensible and don’t leave food lying around etc.
“Thanks so much for entertaining Charlie the tennis-ball crazed collie! It was great to see him readily settled on first visit. He was very happy to de dropped off on days two & three. He will have enjoyed his walks and splashing about in the river. He’s looking forward to future sitting with you both! Thanks once again.”

“Lucy agreed to look after Moss for a few hours at short notice, which was very much appreciated. Moss is a shy nervous little dog but settled quickly and was happy when we left him. Lucy sent us pics of Moss enjoying reviewing his new surroundings. Moss was also happy when we collected him, which showed he had enjoyed his stay with Lucy and her family.”

“We’re so pleased to have found Skye’s new sitters. She settled much quicker than we expected, which was a huge relief given her anxious attachment. By her second visit, she was already relaxed and happily sleeping between walks and playtime, which is exactly what we’d hoped for. Communication has been great throughout, and they send lovely picture updates during the day, which is so reassuring. They’ve been warm, welcoming and really flexible with us, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. We’ve recently moved to the area without close friends or family nearby, so finding people we trust with Skye makes such a big difference. It’s lovely knowing she’s happy, comfortable and well cared for while she’s with them. We’ll 100% be continuing to use their services and would highly recommend them!”

“Lauren was great with my 5 month old puppy and she loved playing with Daisy her playful beagle :) Lauren kept me updated with photos and videos throughout the day but I neednt have worried as Nala had a great day and is looking forward to going again soon!”

About: Happy, caring and energetic dog walker looking for new 4 footed friends to walk. I have ample experience walking many different dogs. I love a good long walk, don't know who enjoys its more, me or the dogs! i'm also very happy to host a dog or 2 in my house. I will happily do pop in visits for dogs that are at home all day. I have been caring for animals for many years, I grew up surrounded by animals, mainly dogs. for much of my teenage life i worked in a stables where i would help care for the 13 (yes 13!) stable dogs that ruled the roost. I have also volunteered at a few animal shelters where I would help acclimatise strays by being their primary carer. I am happy to travel around South East London as i have a motor bike and can easliey get around. Look forward to meeting you all soon!
“David and Kayleigh did a brilliant job looking after Tala. We'd met for a short walk beforehand and Tala took to them both immediately. When I dropped her off, she happily trotted into their house. Communication was brilliant and Tala looked happy and settled when I picked her up. She had been spoilt with cuddles and attention and I'm sure she'll be delighted to go back for her next stay :-) Thank you both very much!!”

About: Available over Christmas Growing up, my family had a large German Shepherd named Chico who I absolutely adored and would spend large amounts of time playing with. This is where my love for big dogs began. After moving from my parents, I was unable to get my own dog due to not finding suitable accommodation. However, I managed to get many hours of caring for my nieces boarder collie in. Reggie, the collie in question, was my first experience with a reactive dog. After months of doing my own research and training Reggie (and my niece) we saw some real progress in his behaviour. Fast forward a year and I was training my own, very large, very reactive Catahoula/Labrador. Training such a large, powerful dog and working alongside an incredibly skilled dog trainer taught me so much and helped me build my confidence with dogs that needed a little more patience and work. Because of these experiences, I am more than happy to work alongside pets that others may not be. I would be offering more than just a walking/sitting service and am happy to use my knowledge to help owners train their pets if desired. Please send me a message for my availability as I work shifts but am happy to move things about when I can. I will always want to meet a dog before sitting/walking then to ensure we are the right fit for one another! My care for your pet will always vary greatly depending on their own needs and personality. I will always ask to meet the pet and owner first to discuss any care requirements they have and to make sure we are a good for for one another
About: I’ve looked after dogs since I was a young girl. I always loved to look after my Nan’s Golden Retriever when we stayed there. I enjoyed taking her for walks, grooming her, feeding her, and so on. I’ve had a dog myself in the past and enjoy their company. I love to go out walking and love to be have their company. I’m an honest, friendly and reliable person that would not let you or your pet down. I’m happy to complete drop ins and look after your pet within my own home. I only work two days a week from home in the spare room. I have three breaks when I do work I drive, I live in a detached house with a large enclosed garden.. I would care for pets in my home or someone else’s home by showing them lots of love and attention. Make sure they’re fed and watered, walked & groomed. And, ensure they feel safe.
About: Have worked with animals most of my adult life, with plenty of experience in Vets and animal shelters. Please message for any enquiries. Or to talk about your pets specific needs I work in full time specialist education so I will have availability for Pet care during any of the school holiday times of year . I will try specialise the care of each pet individually as all pets have their own needs and requirements. I will always try to be as accommodating as possible to your pets needs
“Thanks so much for entertaining Charlie the tennis-ball crazed Collie Alex. Sorry he drooled over your water bottle! He said thanks for sharing a cooked breakfast! I’m glad that you enjoyed his company. Thanks for trying to tire him … it’s not easy!”

“I’m really grateful to Becki for looking after Gracie at such short notice. Gracie had a wonderful time and looked extremely happy in the photos I was sent. I would have no trouble recommending Beckie’s services and look forward to Gracie visiting soon.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Plymouth
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We left our two dogs for part of the day while we attended our daughter’s university graduation, and it gave us complete peace of mind knowing they were so well cared for. I was particularly worried beforehand because one of our dogs can be quite anxious and barky in new situations. I needn’t have worried at all. From the moment we arrived, both dogs settled straight away, which immediately put us at ease. She was warm, friendly and clearly has a genuine love for dogs. She kept us updated with lovely photos throughout the day, which was so reassuring and allowed us to fully enjoy the celebrations without worrying. When we collected them, both dogs were happy, relaxed and incredibly chilled, which says everything about the care and attention they received. They had obviously felt safe, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed their time with her. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy dog daycare. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our dogs and helping make our daughter’s graduation day even more special.

Nikita looked after Casper for a day and was brilliant from start to finish. She spent time making sure he got on with her dog, who is very energetic. They immediately started playing and clearly had a great time together (as shown by the photos!) When we picked him up his behaviour immediately showed that he loved Nikita and he was still playing with her dog happily. Very happy - will use again :-)

Georgie was able to take Cleo overnight at the last minute which was so helpful and I felt so relaxed leaving her at her home with Nala! Georgie was happy to follow all instructions given and did a great job of looking after Cleo, I will definately ask her again next time. Thank you! 💗

Sam is a brilliant dog sitter, Tala took to him straightaway when we met up and when I dropped her off for her daycare today, she immediately remembered where she was and couldn't wait to get it the house :-) She had a lovely day with Sam, plenty of time outside and lots of attention. She came back to me happy and relaxed, thank you Sam!

Kate did an amazing job looking after my young Springer Junie for the day. She's a high energy pup and had never been with a sitter before so I was a little worried but Kate was brilliant. She kept me updated, took her on some great walks and sent some lovely photos. Junie came home exhausted in the evening so clearly had an amazing day! I would highly recommend - thank you so much Kate

We’ve now trusted Lucy and her family to care for our collie, Max, for the second year in a row, and once again they’ve been absolutely fantastic. Max clearly adores his time with them. He enjoyed plenty of lovely walks, lots of snuggles, and constant positive attention. It’s such a relief knowing he’s in such caring and capable hands. They treat him like part of the family, and it really shows in how happy and relaxed he is when we return. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and are so grateful for the love and care they give Max each time!

Nicola has been wonderful. She looked after our Otis (who has never been with anyone other than us, family and friends) who wasn’t sure when we left him with her at first but he soon settled in and was snuggling, playing and eating in no time. Nicola sent regular updates with photos which was lovely to receive. We tried Otis with Nicola just for a day and we will certainly be booking her for boarding in the future! Thanks Nicola for being amazing 🙏🏼

Laura is absolutely lovely, easy-going, and brilliant with dogs - Tala adores her! She looked after Tala really well, took her on long walks and gave her plenty of attention. On Tala's second time with Laura, Tala ran right into the house as soon as Laura opened the door, obviously feeling at home there and happy to come back. I would definitely recommend Laura as a dog-sitter.

Thanks so much for getting wet and muddy with Charlie during some rainy days. He’s not a fair-weather dog … and he loves being in the water. He slept well after his doggy day care. He’s clearly comfortable with your company (nice to see him run into the house in readiness to play!). We’ll look for some future dates.

Hannah was absolutely wonderful with Tala, took her for a glorious walk around Saltram and gave her loads of cuddles and attention. Hannah is a lovely person and Tala took to her straightaway. She could not have been in better hands and I expect she is already looking forward to another day with Hannah in the near future :-) Thank you so much Hannah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
