“Tegan has been a wonderful help for Herbert over the past few months. Always very cheerful and gets on brilliantly with our little man. Such a joy to know he's in safe hands. Looking forward to future bookings.”

“Anindita was absolutely brilliant with Cookie, it was our first time using Rover & Cookie is very attached to us so I wasn’t sure how it would go, but from the moment we saw Anindita, Cookie warmed to Anindita immediately. Anindita was calm with Cookie while they accustomed to one another & they played a little together & Cookie settled quickly. I felt so relieved & comfortable leaving Cookie with Anindita, I will definitely rebook again, thank you Anindita :-)”

“We’re so pleased to have found Skye’s new sitters. She settled much quicker than we expected, which was a huge relief given her anxious attachment. By her second visit, she was already relaxed and happily sleeping between walks and playtime, which is exactly what we’d hoped for. Communication has been great throughout, and they send lovely picture updates during the day, which is so reassuring. They’ve been warm, welcoming and really flexible with us, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. We’ve recently moved to the area without close friends or family nearby, so finding people we trust with Skye makes such a big difference. It’s lovely knowing she’s happy, comfortable and well cared for while she’s with them. We’ll 100% be continuing to use their services and would highly recommend them!”

“Having never used Rover before, I was a bit nervous, but Daryl quickly put me at ease. He’s been fantastic at reassuring me and sends detailed updates after each of Flossy’s visits. It’s clear from the way he cares for his own dog, Cooper, that Floss is in very safe and loving hands. She’s looking forward to building a new friendship with both Cooper and Daryl.”

“We're so grateful for all the extra care Abi put in for our dog Norman... she managed to tire him out which is rare! We felt totally at ease leaving our dog with her, we'd definitely recommend her and will be use her again soon. Thanks Abi!”

“David and Kayleigh did a brilliant job looking after Tala. We'd met for a short walk beforehand and Tala took to them both immediately. When I dropped her off, she happily trotted into their house. Communication was brilliant and Tala looked happy and settled when I picked her up. She had been spoilt with cuddles and attention and I'm sure she'll be delighted to go back for her next stay :-) Thank you both very much!!”

“Kate has been so kind and caring getting to know our anxious dog - Luna had so much fun at her evening stay today, we’ll definitely be booking with Kate again very soon! Kate has a lovely home and is super accommodating to our dog’s needs. We feel really happy and content knowing Luna is relaxing while spending time with her. Thanks so much!”

“Aruna was amazing and Teresa loved her. I chose a day care to see how Teresa would get along with her dog Hope and it was great, they got along really well 💞. We will soon do a boarding and I will be able to travel with peace of mind because Aruna took care of her with a lot of love and attention.”

“Sam is a brilliant dog sitter, Tala took to him straightaway when we met up and when I dropped her off for her daycare today, she immediately remembered where she was and couldn't wait to get it the house :-) She had a lovely day with Sam, plenty of time outside and lots of attention. She came back to me happy and relaxed, thank you Sam!”

About: I've taken care of dogs of all kinds for over four years. I moved back in to my family home, where I have two adorable Bichon Frises. I also look after pets for friends, and family. I’m experienced with feeding, walking, playtime, basic training, and grooming. Whether it’s lively puppies with anxious accidents or gentle senior dogs, I know how to tailor care to each pup’s needs! Living in Plymouth means I have access to some incredible walking spots like coastal paths, parks, and woodlands - perfect for giving your dogs the exercise and enrichment they need. I had just graduated and currently work part-time, so I have plenty of flexibility to care for your pets. I’m now available for boarding full time, any day - any time. Your pup will get my full attention for its respected diet, playtime and walks. I live in a secure home in Plymouth with a fenced backyard. I can safely crate your dog if needed and always follow your instructions carefully. My home also has 2 very well behaved and lovely Bijon Frices, they will be sure to get along with your pup! The house is clean, calm, and ideal for dogs to feel safe and relaxed.
About: A true animal lover, I have had many myself since I was a child growing up on a farm in the mountains of Andorra: horse, cats, rabbits, dogs, pigs, cows, sheep...I was lucky enough to be able to take my dogs with me to study at Plymouth University- marine biology and oceanography. Therefore, your furry best friend will also have the chance to make new pawsome mates to spend time with and above all, never get bored. My two dogs are called Salsa (jack russell cross) and Billie Eilish (working cocker spaniel), both part time working dogs for pack Boar hunt, mountain goat finds and rabbit hunt. More about myself- I did several weeks of volunteering in a veterinary clinic which gave me the energy needed, skills and patience with sick or old animals. Gentle, jovial and energetic in nature, I would be delighted to enjoy the outdoors with your furry friend during various walks a day, to clean it, feed it and of course to give as much love and cuddles as necessary. Serious and dynamic, I listen to your needs and those of your animal so that he feels as good as possible in your absence and during his stay with me and my partner which lives home aswell. I live near the Hoe and I can travel around Plymouth or its surrounding areas having my car here I offer pick up and drop off services! I am a student at the University of Plymouth and study marine biology and oceanography which means a lot of time at the beach with the pups to fill in this notebooks! I propose long stay and short stay as i don’t go out and live with my fiancé who is also a doggo lover! As previously said, I live by the Hoe which means it is a quick walk to a nice open space for dogs to exercise which is like a garden to me as walks are around 3-4 times a day for my two gorgeous girls. I also do have a little garden on the back of the flat which is secure but small that i therefore don’t use. During bad weather I use sniffin’ games, play hide and seek and get my pups to learn new tricks which could do with yours aswell :) Usually on a basis nice day and weekend we go 3h to the moors or Plymbridge to play and evening rest and walkies around the park. Sundays we go to central park and have an amazing time chasing squirrels or playing fetch ! We also go biking or rest depending on the energy of the dog!
“Bridget was fabulous throughout! We were visiting Plymouth for a family funeral so didn’t really know what to expect. We had several communications before our dogs stayed, which put our minds at rest. Bridget was quick to respond to messages and keen to help. She also gave us regular updates and videos through the day. We couldn’t have asked for better care. I would thoroughly recommend Bridget and will definitely book again when we’re down in Plymouth. Thank you from Izzy and Jet too 🦮🐕🦺🐾”

“I’m really grateful to Becki for looking after Gracie at such short notice. Gracie had a wonderful time and looked extremely happy in the photos I was sent. I would have no trouble recommending Beckie’s services and look forward to Gracie visiting soon.”

“A regular here. My boys are so comfortable around Alison now that Kai, my 'aloof Shiba Inu with attitude', let Alison rub his tummy for the first time today, and they weren't in a hurry to come home with me! 😆 Thank you, Alison. Till next time! X”

About: Aside from looking after my own shi tszu for 9 years, I frequently look after my partners pugs who are the best company. Professionally I have looked after several dogs and cats and loved every single one of them. I am experienced with laid back dogs, happy dogs, grumpy dogs, anxious dogs and cuddly dogs. I have just finished my degree in psychology! Whilst I usually do bank healthcare assistant work, I have a lot of time off at the moment and would love to spend it taking care of animals. I am polite and trust worthy, communicative and friendly. I can send regular pupdates and photos whilst you're away for your peace of mind. When sitting in your home, I am conscientious of your space and keep it clean and tidy, making sure that the house is just as you left it. I am an open and honest communicator and will not hesitate to contact you if there is an issue.

Georgie was able to take Cleo overnight at the last minute which was so helpful and I felt so relaxed leaving her at her home with Nala! Georgie was happy to follow all instructions given and did a great job of looking after Cleo, I will definately ask her again next time. Thank you! 💗

Kate did an amazing job looking after my young Springer Junie for the day. She's a high energy pup and had never been with a sitter before so I was a little worried but Kate was brilliant. She kept me updated, took her on some great walks and sent some lovely photos. Junie came home exhausted in the evening so clearly had an amazing day! I would highly recommend - thank you so much Kate

We’ve now trusted Lucy and her family to care for our collie, Max, for the second year in a row, and once again they’ve been absolutely fantastic. Max clearly adores his time with them. He enjoyed plenty of lovely walks, lots of snuggles, and constant positive attention. It’s such a relief knowing he’s in such caring and capable hands. They treat him like part of the family, and it really shows in how happy and relaxed he is when we return. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and are so grateful for the love and care they give Max each time!

Nicola has been wonderful. She looked after our Otis (who has never been with anyone other than us, family and friends) who wasn’t sure when we left him with her at first but he soon settled in and was snuggling, playing and eating in no time. Nicola sent regular updates with photos which was lovely to receive. We tried Otis with Nicola just for a day and we will certainly be booking her for boarding in the future! Thanks Nicola for being amazing 🙏🏼

Laura is absolutely lovely, easy-going, and brilliant with dogs - Tala adores her! She looked after Tala really well, took her on long walks and gave her plenty of attention. On Tala's second time with Laura, Tala ran right into the house as soon as Laura opened the door, obviously feeling at home there and happy to come back. I would definitely recommend Laura as a dog-sitter.

Thanks so much for getting wet and muddy with Charlie during some rainy days. He’s not a fair-weather dog … and he loves being in the water. He slept well after his doggy day care. He’s clearly comfortable with your company (nice to see him run into the house in readiness to play!). We’ll look for some future dates.

Hannah was absolutely wonderful with Tala, took her for a glorious walk around Saltram and gave her loads of cuddles and attention. Hannah is a lovely person and Tala took to her straightaway. She could not have been in better hands and I expect she is already looking forward to another day with Hannah in the near future :-) Thank you so much Hannah!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
