About: I have always had a profound love for all animals, especially dogs and a passion to look after them. I have had a variety of animals around me my whole life and I am experienced in caring for all breeds dogs. I would love to help someone out who has work commitments or deserves a holiday/break by looking after their pet. I would ensure they have lots of love, cuddles, walks and attention. I live in a house with a large, secure garden so lots of space for your dog to run freely. I am home a lot of the time so they would hardly be left on their own for long periods of time. I have been dog sitting for almost 7 years now and have lots of experience looking after a variety of dog breeds and ages. I work from home so can be very flexible around your schedule and adapt to your pets requirements where needed. I have a Cavalier King Charles called Ruby who would love a play date or a walking buddy! Ruby is brilliant with children and a registered therapy dog. I have 7 years of experience caring for a variety of animals, so you can trust me to provide the highest standard of care to your pet. I'm passionate about animals and I'll do everything I can to ensure that they're happy and well looked after whilst in my care.

Thanks for entertaining Charlie. I’m glad that he was able to join in for the online meeting! We’ll certainly look for some other dates (hopefully when not in a heat wave), as he’d love chasing his ball around Crapstone.

Scout had the best day staying with Sophie. She played all day with Spencer. Sophie is a fantastic host, reliable, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend her. She sent brilliant photos and video of Scouts stay.

Our puppy Teddy seemed to take to Vanessa instantly. Teddy stayed with Vanessa for a few hours today ahead of a longer stay in June. This was a really helpful introduction for them both. Teddy is a high energy pup who can at times become over stimulated quite quickly - Vanessa was very skilled in managing this. It was the first time Teddy had been left with anyone and we went away reassured that he will be well looked after whilst we are on holiday.

Sam is a brilliant dog sitter, Tala took to him straightaway when we met up and when I dropped her off for her daycare today, she immediately remembered where she was and couldn't wait to get it the house :-) She had a lovely day with Sam, plenty of time outside and lots of attention. She came back to me happy and relaxed, thank you Sam!

We couldn’t recommend Tilly highly enough. From the very first moment, she showed such a calm, thoughtful and genuinely caring approach, always putting Romy’s comfort and wellbeing first. She really took the time to help her feel relaxed and at ease, which made a huge difference for us. Throughout the day, Romy was clearly in the best hands. When we picked her up, she was completely herself: happy, confident and relaxed… and once we got home, she collapsed straight into a deep sleep, which says everything about how much positive activity, play and engagement she’d had! It’s obvious that Tilly truly understands dogs and creates a lovely, balanced environment, especially with her own sweet cockapoo, Lila. Romy had an amazing time, and we felt totally reassured knowing she was being cared for so thoughtfully. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book with Tilly again and would warmly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind and fantastic dog sitter. Thank you so much, Tilly! Romy can’t wait to come back! 🐾💛

About: I have had dogs my whole life, having been brought up in the countryside with collies. My gorgeous labrador, Storm, is playful and very loving and comes first in every decision I make! I am incredibly passionate about dog welfare and nutrition and always strive to give them the best quality of life. I have always looked after my friends’ and family’s dogs and am proud of the trust they have in me for this. I work full time but fully remote, so I will always be at home to keep an eye on the doggos and have long walks at least twice a day, with toilet breaks whenever needed! I have a fully fenced garden for regular toilet breaks and perfect for dogs to lounge in good weather with lots of shade too. The house is very safe and I have plenty of dog beds dotted around for whichever space your dog best prefers!

About: My family got our first dog at aged 10, and our second when I was 17. I have cared for them both since they were puppies- teaching them to wait for food, fetch, lie down and even high five! As my first dog got older, I learnt how to be respectful of him as he didn't want to be played with all the time and was slightly more temperamental. This taught me to be patient and how to be around older dogs. Our second dog is a playful cocker spaniel with bundles of energy, always wanting to go on walks, which I am of course happy to do! I can therefore care for dogs of all ages and of many different natures as each one is unique and special in their own way. I am available anytime between 22nd July and 1st September. If I am unavailable, my sister can usually cover bookings- she is a Uni student studying animal science and bioveterinary course so has lots of experience with animals! I am able to do house visits and am happy to feed, play with or even just sit with the dog to keep them company! I can have pets in my home, but only if they get on with other dogs and small animals. I can do a whole day visit, a quick stop in, or I can take them on walks. I will send pupdates throughout the day of your fur babies so you don't have to stress while you're away from home!

Ludo had a great time with Ela for two days doggy day care. Ela clearly loves dogs, I have no doubt Ludo was well cared for with nice treats, cuddles and walks. Ela was so flexible to accommodate our short notice request, she took the time to meet Ludo in advance of the booking, and communication was great. Thanks Ela!

About: I’ve had pets in my family home as long as I can remember, including three dogs, two cats, two tortoises, fish and hamsters over the years. I’ve always loved being around and looking after animals, especially dogs. I grew up with an English Springer spaniel and a Dandie Dinmont terrier - two dogs that were polar opposites but both affectionate and loyal - what more can you ask for? After they both passed away last year, my mum brought a Maltese poodle puppy called Lola into the family home and it’s reminded me of how playful and loving pets are. In terms of experience, I’ve dog-sat and walked my mates Australian Labradoodle and previously looked after neighbours cats while they’ve been away. If you’re interested, please feel free to reach out - Thanks. I work full-time for a multinational professional services company however my job is fully remote and employees are entrusted to work flexible hours to manage their own work schedules. I’d love the extra bit of company when working from home and the opportunity to get out on walks during the day. I live in a dog- friendly duplex flat with open plan living and kitchen and a small-medium sized balcony. I understand this may be off putting but I’m a 3 minute walk from Lovell Park, and only a 10 minute walk from the canal, which I often run along and is very popular with dog walkers. I have a very comfortable sofa and plenty open floor space to roam around

Alison provides a calm, safe environment. Her house is located conveniently with two large parks. Alison looked after our boys for the very first time today, and we were very pleased with how she helped them make themselves at home and occupied them. She is trustworthy and a good communicator. We wouldn't hesitate to ask Alison to look after our boys again. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog care provider. Thank you, Alison!

It was great to meet Ani, who was really good with our elderly collie. Ani sent us regular updates and photos and looked after our girl really well, taking her for walks and playing with her to keep her occupied. When we picked her up we could see that our dog had had a really good time and had been well looked after. Thank you Ani!

About: Hello! My name is Hannah. I have loved dogs since my little Westie Frodo (only the size of a jacket potato!) entered my life when I was 3 years old. Since then, I admire every pup that walks past me. Luckily for me, I work for Brittany Ferries, so I get to sign in all the holiday ready pets! I have been looking after dogs since I was little, my dog Frodo was the light of my life, I wanted to do everything that would make him happy. I was also the first call when friends needed a place for their pet to stay, as they knew I would put all my attention on looking after their pup (I also love taking photos, so they enjoyed recieving updates!). Currently I am regularly looking after a little darling dog named Snowy and also house sitting for friends with two new tiny kittens! Last year I did a Pet First Aid course. I currently work part time (every Sunday and 1 Tuesday a month), and when not working I am making art at home so regular pee breaks remind me to get up and take care of myself too! I live in a large house/land with a few other families. This includes 2 cats, 2 dogs and small children. In the house, which I have a room in and the pet will stay, we have two cats roaming around. One loves cuddles (even from dogs!) and the other is a grump, but if given space he doesn't mind being around a dog. A few steps from the house there is a big field, great to throw a ball and to do a quick morning pee before I have time to make a coffee! Just off of the land, it's a 10 minute walk through fields to the moors! So great walks are awaiting. As for home visits, my goal is to make sure the pet has some quality play/cuddle time and a wee and snack, so they can tire out then nap until you return home!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 336 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in West Devon. About 89% of West Devon sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your West Devon commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
