About: I have had dogs my whole life, having been brought up in the countryside with collies. My gorgeous labrador, Storm, is playful and very loving and comes first in every decision I make! I have always looked after my friends’ and family’s dogs and am proud of the trust they have in me for this. I work full time but fully remote, so I will always be at home to keep an eye on the doggos and have long walks at least twice a day, with toilet breaks whenever needed! I have a fully fenced garden for regular toilet breaks and perfect for dogs to lounge in good weather. The house is very safe and I have plenty of dog beds dotted around for whichever space your dog best prefers!
“SJ is an all round excellent sitter, she has taken Freddie on a variety of walks and given lovely little updates through out the day. Communication has been spot on from the beginning and most importantly Freddie appears to have had a day full of adventure and returned a tired little pup.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a child and regularly take care of friend’s doggos! I am comfortable looking after all breeds and all needs! I work part time so am free all day on a Monday to cuddle with your pups! I live close to Dartmoor so there are lots of great walks nearby for them to enjoy! I have a safe fenced garden in a quiet area. I am experienced in taking care of many different types of dogs and making sure they are comfortable in my home. I am free mostly on weekends but often I am available during the week/evenings - please contact me if you have any questions at all! Disclaimer - I appreciate being told if you are running late to collect your pet - if you are late then I will modify the booking to reflect this.

“Great communication throughout, and the dogs absolutely loved their stay. It was clear they were well cared for and happy. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again.”

“I left my 5month old puppy Louie with Frances to attend a family funeral. She took excellent care of Louie and communication before the booking and throughout the booking was great! He was a very happy puppy spending time with Frances, and she provided the best care for him during the heatwave. She even had a toy for him waiting and he seemed to prefer it from his toys! That was such a nice touch to know that my puppy was in good hands. She was also very respectful of our puppy rule: our puppy is a dachshund breed and is forbidden to go up/down the stairs and has to be picked up in a certain way. Frances was happy to accommodate our needs. I will definitely make another book with her in the future!”

“Bramble went in with her tail wagging and came out looking happy and exhausted, ready to go home. She is a high energy dog and appears to have loved spending the day playing with Mia's dog and having an awesome walk with her new friend. Mia sent lots of photos throughout the day and chatted to me lots prior to the day as I was anxious about leaving Bramble, but she did a great job putting my worries to rest. Overall a great experience for Bramble and we were able to leave her with the peace of mind that we knew she was safe and having fun. Will definitely leave her with Mia again if we are in the area and need a sitter :)”

“First visit and Marley was clearly happy when we collected him. Vanessa clearly has a good understanding of dogs and observant to his behaviour. More than happy to leave him with her in Jan.”

About: I have had dogs snd cats since I was little. I have looked after and walked people’s dogs since I was 18 and I love bonding with different breeds and ages of dogs. I currently live with my partner and his family and we have 6 of our own dogs…we’re a bit dog mad! They also do dog sitting and walking, so I have a lot of experience! I have helped train puppies I’ve looked after in the past and also helped care for dogs on the older side. I adore all animals and would be happy to look after yours if needed! I am free most days, Monday to Friday but also happy to pet sit over weekends. I provide dog walking from 10am - 4pm on weekdays I live in an old farm house with a huge fenced off garden. Dogs are allowed free range of the house most the day but will be shut in separate rooms at feeding time. They have constant access to the garden and will be able to toddle off in the house and find somewhere comfy to chill out!

About: I have had big responsibility to look after many animals growing up. I am currently living away from home and I miss my animals, my dog (see profile picture) and I’m desperate to start involving myself around animals again. I have also done house sitting, mainly family members growing up, more of a good gesture but now I live away from home I have started to think of different ways to get out of the house. It’s more for me rather than money if I am honest. I find myself very responsible and trust worthy, I respect people and care for animals dearly. I wouldn’t say I have years of paid experience with looking after homes or animals but I have years worth of love for them. If you let me know in advance, I can sort your schedule around you. I am easy to your schedule as my shifts change so I can request different things as I work full time. I will chill with your dog. If you want me to keep them out then they will be out. If you want me to take them out I will. If you want me to crate them, I may do. Your call.

About: I've had dogs in my life since I was 12. I'm currently not able to have my own but adore dogs and love the thought of helping someone in the Buckfastleigh and Ashburton area with theirs. I've done some sits for people through the House sitters website (last one was a Cockapoo) and also looked after my brother's Border Collie and my in-law's Lurchers so have experience with different size dogs. As I work from home most of the week and often go for walks in the morning, lunchtime, or evening after work. I'm here all day so can tend to a dog's needs. I can also easily nip out to walk your dog if needed. I don't have a garden but have some lovely walks in the area. If they're happy to sit at home on the sofa or a dog bed most of the day then my place is perfect. If I was coming to you during the day that would work too.
“Alison was fantastic, had so many updates, photos and videos, definitely felt like I was missing out!!!! Tillie was so at ease with Alison. Definitely a great and easy stay, spoilt rotten, I will have to up my game!”

“Ela is absolutely incredible with our pup, this was a last minute booking and she had no problem taking Oakley for the day for us. Oakley has fallen madly in love with Ela and enjoys every minute in her care.”

“Molly was great with Freddie. We came down for a holiday down to Paignton and Molly took care of Freddie for the day which was really helpful. Her communication and photo updates were very much appreciated”

“5 stars! Bridget and Nick along with their adorable pup Presley made Stanley's stay a great one. Stanley was immediately comfortable with them and their beautiful home, and the enclosed yard is a major bonus! I enjoyed the text updates and pictures they sent to me, but mostly the level of comfort I have leaving my precious buddy in someone else's care!”

About: 🐾 I’ve looked after dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds through pet sitting and walking services, and always focus on building trust, so that pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy in my care. 🦮 Before recently moving back to Plymouth, I spent 2 years pet sitting and dog walking for regular clients in Australia, and prior to that I volunteered at a local animal shelter for over 8 years, walking dogs with a wide range of temperaments and backgrounds. 🐾 I am a qualified health professional by trade so have passed regular DBS checks (I am currently taking a break from the day job, so I can give my full attention to pet sitting). My partner, Zach is also always around to help - we had a joint pet sitting account in Aus. He also has a full DBS & police check. 🐕🦺 Having grown up with an array of pets, I have a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. • I currently have plenty of availability for 1:1 pet care and would love to help out with your furry friend. Regular updates and communication with owners are guaranteed. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions! • I am home full time - so my day would be completely devoted to looking after your furry friend. They would be left at home for minimal time (no more than 1-2hrs) - only when popping to the shops etc. I have a fenced garden and a large house with a lane for walking dogs and a park nearby. I can drive, so I also love to take dogs out for a variety of different walks to different locations, including the beach. We have outdoor cats at home but they aren’t fussed by other animals.

“A huge thanks for looking after Charlie the tennis-ball crazed Collie! He clearly settled really well with you and it’s nice to feel less guilty when knowing that he’ll get some real quality time (including falling asleep on you!). Thanks for accommodating early starts too … really helpful. He will have enjoyed plodding in different areas. We’re lucky to have some open green spaces for the four-legged friends. Good luck on travels. Will look to rebook on your return.”

About: I've looked after dogs from a young age and have had the pleasure of my own x2 pups for the past 4 years now. I've trained puppies both difficult and stubborn and helped raised multiple dogs having grown up with them since I was 3. I have first hand experience of untrained and unsocialized puppies who react and have trained them to the exact opposite. We have a big family home with a very large garden with lots of places to explore in all weathers, with loads of space for your pup to feel right at home inside. We have x2 pups of our own who love other dogs, one who is 4 and one who is 3. Having moved from London on the last year I know what it's like to leave your pups with a sitter for the day or week so have created a space I know my pups would love. I have all the time possible with your pup, with plenty of room for multiple dogs to play, sleep and explore. At the weekends our schedule is built round the dogs and going for walks to the locals parks like Oldway or the beach. Their care would be our main priority and with lots of places to explore in the garden and places to sleep they should find it a welcoming home from home. We have separate rooms if your pup likes to sleep alone and can feed separately if need be too. Just let me know.
“Mark is always so helpful with organisation. Elvis wags his tail and looks so happy as we go towards Mark’s door. Elvis is much calmer since his time with Mark, is much better with other dogs and seems generally happier. Great!”

“Anindita was absolutely brilliant with Cookie, it was our first time using Rover & Cookie is very attached to us so I wasn’t sure how it would go, but from the moment we saw Anindita, Cookie warmed to Anindita immediately. Anindita was calm with Cookie while they accustomed to one another & they played a little together & Cookie settled quickly. I felt so relieved & comfortable leaving Cookie with Anindita, I will definitely rebook again, thank you Anindita :-)”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
