We couldn’t recommend Tilly highly enough. From the very first moment, she showed such a calm, thoughtful and genuinely caring approach, always putting Romy’s comfort and wellbeing first. She really took the time to help her feel relaxed and at ease, which made a huge difference for us. Throughout the day, Romy was clearly in the best hands. When we picked her up, she was completely herself: happy, confident and relaxed… and once we got home, she collapsed straight into a deep sleep, which says everything about how much positive activity, play and engagement she’d had! It’s obvious that Tilly truly understands dogs and creates a lovely, balanced environment, especially with her own sweet cockapoo, Lila. Romy had an amazing time, and we felt totally reassured knowing she was being cared for so thoughtfully. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book with Tilly again and would warmly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind and fantastic dog sitter. Thank you so much, Tilly! Romy can’t wait to come back! 🐾💛

About: I’m a reliable, calm, trusted dog owner & sitter with experience of small & large breeds. I have had dogs all my life and grew up with dogs in the household. I have trained my own dog to a very high standard of recall and manners, and he gets along with all other dogs. My calm & confident approach has resulted in a harmonious, calm household that pets I have looked after settle into quickly. I live a fairly active lifestyle, so we are out and about every day for a nice long walk. We love to walk down along the river weather permitting, and we go to Exmouth a couple of times a week for a good run on the beach. We also like to chill in town at a few dog friendly cafes, where they get lots of fuss, so of course your dog would be with us. I live in a basement flat with direct access to a large, secure, enclosed garden that they access to all day. The garden is surrounded on all sides by a 7ft high solid brick wall that is escape proof, perfect for the dogs to free roam and play in complete safety at their leisure. I also live 50 metres from Belmont Park which we visit several times a day. The park is perfect for dogs to socialise as we have a large group of local dog walkers.

We left our lurcher with Danielle whilst we went to a rugby match. Despite the pouring rain she took her out for a walk (thank you)! She had 1 other dog there and they did not get along when they met so she kept them separate, which seemed to work well.

Alberto was absolutely brilliant with Gizmo and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first daycare experience. Gizmo had a full day of lovely walks, socialising with another dog and lots of stimulation, and it was clear from the photos/videos that he was having an amazing time and was really comfortable and happy. Communication was great, and Alberto was really calm, kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. Gizmo came home happy, relaxed and completely exhausted 😂 Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much!

About: I’ve given dogs a happy place to be while their families are busy for years now, looking after family and friends dogs during the week. As I work from home i’m able to provide regular breaks and walks but also find lots of time to play or cuddle! My friends rely on me to keep their dogs fed, safe and happy and i’m always their first choice of day care now! My partner Steve works from home part of the week so is also around for looking after and entertaining your dogs during the days. I’ve got experience with nervous, needy dogs to very chilled relaxed dogs (and everything in between)! Weekdays my boyfriend and I work from home, so my day looks like a morning walk, then flexible during the day to do what the dog needs, and free in the evenings if longer care is needed. We’re available for boarding weekdays and some weekends but notice is needed! We have a completely secure, fenced garden in a quiet safe neighbourhood. Dogs are allowed in any room in the house but will follow your guidance too on their rules. They’ll be allowed upstairs and on furniture, and will be given our full attention all day/evening!

About: My family got our first dog at aged 10, and our second when I was 17. I have cared for them both since they were puppies- teaching them to wait for food, fetch, lie down and even high five! As my first dog got older, I learnt how to be respectful of him as he didn't want to be played with all the time and was slightly more temperamental. This taught me to be patient and how to be around older dogs. Our second dog is a playful cocker spaniel with bundles of energy, always wanting to go on walks, which I am of course happy to do! I can therefore care for dogs of all ages and of many different natures as each one is unique and special in their own way. I am available anytime between 22nd July and 1st September. If I am unavailable, my sister can usually cover bookings- she is a Uni student studying animal science and bioveterinary course so has lots of experience with animals! I am able to do house visits and am happy to feed, play with or even just sit with the dog to keep them company! I can have pets in my home, but only if they get on with other dogs and small animals. I can do a whole day visit, a quick stop in, or I can take them on walks. I will send pupdates throughout the day of your fur babies so you don't have to stress while you're away from home!

Couldn't be happier leaving Sausage with Daniel. He is the first sitter we have felt 100% confident in. Clearly loves dogs - which is a good start - but also responsible, reliable and resourceful. Having a lovely dog himself has been a big plus point too. Sausage has come to trust him very quickly and, as a dachshund, that is definitely not always the case. We are happily enjoying some well-earned days to ourselves, after a long time.... nights away next!

About: I have always LOVED spending time with animals of all kinds from a very young age, from having pet rabbits as a kid, to having four dogs since I’ve grown up. I love taking dogs for walks and caring for them in the house as it really boosts my mental health and makes me feel happy :) I’m currently at the University of Exeter studying History, but I am generally very flexible and would love to look after dogs in the evening especially. My week varies quite a lot but generally I have at least 2 days where I can have full care of a dog in the weekday and then weekends I’m very available. I have a fenced garden, and five other girls in my house who are in love with dogs so would always keep a dog company and never be alone! Also plenty of treats for the little pooch !

Pablo’s stay with Alicia and Gismo for the day was terrific. This was Pablo’s first time staying with Alicia and she took the time to settle him in before introducing him and Gismo. Alicia was very responsive when I made the booking request and asked great questions about Pablo’s eating routine, temperament, walking habits, likes and dislikes ?. She kept me updated all day on how Pablo was doing and sent me lovely photos. Pablo is going back for another day visit soon and I would very much recommend Alicia

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Exeter

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Exeter on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 277 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Exeter. About 89% of Exeter sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Exeter commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
