About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was around 10 for neighbours and friends and family I have reptile and equine experience I’m currently only working part time and am informed of my shifts days in advanced which opens up my schedule to more hours during the week! I have a fenced garden and a park just opposite my house which is mostly enclosed, I can take your pet on multiple walks a day and they shouldn’t be alone for more than a couple hours at a time :)

We had such a lovely experience with Katie looking after our dog and cat while we were away for the night! 🐶🐱 She kept us updated throughout, which was really reassuring, and was so polite, responsive and kind from start to finish. We came home to two very happy pets and the house was left lovely, clean and tidy too! It’s always a bit nerve-wracking leaving your pets with someone new, but we felt completely at ease knowing they were being well looked after. We’ll definitely be using Katie again in the future and would happily recommend her! 🥰

About: I took care of my mom’s grumpy senior cat during the last stages of her life (apparently arthritis doesn’t prevent them from turning into Mike Tyson). I am a single, young, energetic 23 year old female university student, so my schedule is very flexible. I am very social and physically strong (practically move boxes for a living atp). I have a great social circle with their own pets as well, so your pets will have a friend to go on walks with xx I volunteer for the dog walking service at our university. Back home as it was not really common to keep dogs, I used to take care of my neighbours’ cats. These are the two lovely babies I walk here. Luna is a cocker spaniel and my regular, and has the shiniest black coat and grinch feet! She has a fascination with tennis balls but is very possessive over them. If I throw the ball once, she won’t ever let go of it, and will even pick up multiple things in her mouth but never let go of the ball. She likes dog ice cream, and is very happy to see new people, however she has an attention span of a toddler xD she’s quite a diva in the best ways and has a routine on how she wants things done. Reggie is a duck toller, but I’m half convinced he’s just a cat in the wrong body. He’s an absolute rocket, and loves swimming in the Quay (beware of the swans and geese tho!). He loves his frisbee, but will try to take it out of your hand if you’re holding it for too long ._. He’s got a lovely coat and looks like fried chicken when the sun hits it right. He is also a bit ADHD, and will not go down the same side of the road that he went up before. My program relies heavily on self study, so class durations are short over the week. I work part time as well in the middle of high street, so I can be flexible with my schedule. Most residences will simply be a short walk or ride away for me as I live on university grounds. Communication is key-our pets are unable to talk, so understanding their body language and being quick to act if something looks off is the difference between a healthy and dead pet. My phone will be on 24/7 without silent mode when I’m taking care of a pet. I will take a lot of pictures with your pets though :p I play for the university’s basketball team, so I’m constantly out for runs and walks outside of training time. Having a pet would be great company for me especially during the darker hours.

Anna looked after my tour cavaliers for the weekend . As I’ve been a dog walker / sitter for fifteen years I’m very fussy . Anna arrived at the time we arranged so we could discuss my oldest dogs medical needs . She was brilliant sending me photos of the dogs while out on their walks or their favourite thing chilling at home . I highly recommend Anna and will definitely book again . Thank you so much Anna you were brilliant .

Myah is a great sitter - responsive, reliable and very attentive to the dogs and what they need and how they behave. Both our dogs are rescues and have their challenges. Myah came for a meet and greet and then a walk to get to know them both. We felt very confident to leave our house and dogs with her and would highly recommend.

It’s always difficult to trust your beloved dogs, puppies and canine family to people who are new to your pack. But Patrick has been amazing. He made the trip to meet my two dogs who are very different in their needs and personalities. Every day we have been away I have had an update on what they have been upto, photos and amazing communication. As a pet owner it was great to receive the updates but also good to see how Patrick had settled into our home and community. I can’t recommend him enough, really pleased we chose each other and for the service I received. We will be using him again. Thank you Patrick

About: I’m a friendly, reliable medical student who absolutely loves animals. Our 7-year-old Labradoodle Ozzy passed away this year and I really miss having a dog to walk so decided to sign up for Rover! Ozzy was a very anxious dog, so I am very used to walking anxious dogs and understand the patience and reassurance they can need. I have previously house-sat for a Cockapoo called Benny, which I thoroughly enjoyed — from taking on the responsibility to spending quality time keeping him happy and well cared for. I’m very organised and attentive, and I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, and playtime. I also understand how important peace of mind is for owners and would be more than happy to provide regular updates and photos on walks! I am currently on my university summer holiday so when I am not working as a hospital healthcare assistant, I can be found walking dogs! I’m very happy to follow any guidance from owners and stick closely to your dog’s usual rules and routine. This includes things like keeping dogs on the lead at all times outside. I’ve previously cared for a dog who had a tendency to run off, so I’m very mindful about safety and supervision.

Trained Rufus my own flat coat retriever. Flexible hours and high availability. I am student based in Bath and Exeter. During holidays I am in Bath with more availability. About: Hello, We are Hannah and Sam and we've been full time global petsitters for over 3 years, from house cats in Dubai to Beagles in India. Now we are back in Exeter and want to continue our love for petsitting. We’ve been fortunate to receive many lovely reviews from pet owners who appreciate our attentive care, regular updates, and the bond we build with their pets which we are happy to share upon request! There are two of us on the profile, so your pet gets double the attention, double the love and double the care! It also means should an unforeseen event occur where one of us can't make it, you can rest easy knowing the other person can still manage the booking. Sam and I both grew up with dogs and have a deep understanding of what it takes to keep them comfortable and content. Whether it’s playing games, engaging in fun enrichment activities, or taking them on exciting walks, we treat every dog as if they are our own by making sure they feel loved, safe, and entertained while you're away! We are both local to Exeter so know of all the safe and fun walks. A dog’s routine is incredibly important to us, we find that sticking to their usual schedule keeps them happiest. Whether it's mealtime, walk times, or bedtime, we work around their routine to ensure they feel secure and comfortable. As I am self employed our schedule can align to theirs. Also, if house sitting they would have company and lots of attention throughout the day. We believe that communication is key, especially when it comes to your pet’s well-being. If we notice any changes in their behaviour or something seems off, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way, ensuring you always know how they’re doing. We have experience administering medication, including pills and topical treatments, and have cared for senior dogs, including those with hearing impairments. Whether your pet needs extra attention, a little patience, or simply their usual routine, we’re committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in our care.

About: I've done cat sitting in England, and back home I shared my life with 3 cats of my own so I know firsthand how much personality (and routine!) every cat has. I even took one of my cats on a trip to the seaside with me, so I understand what it takes to keep a cat calm and comfortable outside their usual environment. When I look after your cat, I stick to their feeding schedule, keep the litter box clean, make time for play, and just try to be a calm, familiar presence while you're away - the way I'd want someone to care for mine. I'm especially patient with shy or nervous cats, and I love sending photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your cat is happy and well cared for. I'm available for cat sitting after 5pm on weekdays, and on Wednesdays I'm also free after 2pm. My weekends are flexible too, so cats are welcome to stay overnight at my home from Friday through Sunday. I'm happy to arrange a schedule that works around your cat's routine and your travel dates. When cats stay at my home, they have a safe, comfortable, cat-proofed space to relax in. I also have a small fenced garden, so cats who enjoy a bit of supervised outdoor time can safely explore while I keep an eye on them. I keep fresh water and food available at all times, clean litter boxes daily, and make sure there's plenty of quiet time as well as play and cuddles, depending on what each cat prefers. Since I have had 3 cats of my own back at home in Ukraine, I'm mindful of introducing new cats slowly and safely, and I always keep a close eye on how everyone is settling in together. I'm also happy to follow any specific instructions from owners regarding feeding, medication, or routines.

I had such peace of mind going away on holiday knowing that Katerina would be visiting our dog Oscar during the daytime in our home (we had family staying in the house at nighttime). Oscar is a unique character and we felt having someone look after him during the day in his own space would suit his personality best. Katerina came and met Oscar before we went on holiday so he got to know her a bit beforehand. Oscar warmed to Katerina and even ended up cuddling on her lap. He was very relaxed and chilled when we got back. Katerina sent us photos and updates on how he was getting on - we were able to totally relax knowing he was being well looked after.

Jamie took really good care of our lively 6 year old Springer Spaniel for 2 weeks, even down to issuing medication at shot notice for an ear infection. We had regular updates. It was reassuring to know that he was in such good hands and we arrived home to a really happy dog. I would have no hesitation in using Jamie again.

Myah was an absolute legend. Just before leaving one of our dogs wounded his leg and Myah was left with unexpected complications and multiple vet visits. We are so hugely grateful for everything she did and would highly recommend her.

I can highly recommend Nikki as a fantastic cat and house sitter !! From the moment she came round to meet me and Alfie, I felt confident Alfie would be in safe hands whilst I was away. I could tell Nikki really loves cats and would look after Alfie, who is an older cat, with care and attention. She was great at keeping in touch, updating me and sending photos or videos, and checking in with me about stuff. It meant I could relax and know that Alfie, who is very precious to me would be ok !! I came back to a very happy contented cat and a tidy clean house Thank you so much from both of us Nikki. We look forward to seeing you again.

Chantelle was wonderful with Reggie. Spent time making sure she had all the information she needed before she took him for his first walk and before she stayed in our home for a week as dog/house sitter. She is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced with dogs, and dealing with one of Reggie's grumpy moments with another male dog while out walking. We were pleased that Chantelle felt comfortable in our home and Reggie clearly loved having a young person (as in same age as our adult children) to chill out with, snuggle up with for a cuddle, or play with his toys. The updates and photos were lovely. We had no reservations about her professionalism and knew that we were leaving Reggie and our home in good hands. Thanks Chantelle. You're a star. Reggie wants to know when we are going away again!

I cannot speak highly enough of Grace . She is caring , conscientious , responsible , level headed and immediately gained a rapport with our cat. It was quite a major thing for me to hire a cat sitter , but after having Grace sit, I wish I had done it years ago. Previously we have used high end kennels but our cat is getting old and always took time to settle back home again. On returning home this time we found our cat completely chilled and content . Grace had kept us up to date with updates and photos while we were away , and had given our cat all the love and attention she needed. She clearly loved her time with Grace. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Grace for sitting to anyone.

The average cost for House Sitting in Exeter on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Exeter walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Exeter choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
