About: Hi! We're Angie & Alex, full-time professional house and pet sitters. We have both always loved animals and grown up looking after dogs and cats. I (Angie) grew up with dogs (a spaniel, a lab and a German Shepherd), whilst Alex grew up with cats. We now move around looking after different, wonderful dogs and cats, and their owners' homes while they're on extended trips (usually 2+ weeks). We give all animals the individual care and attention they need. So far this year we have looked after two elderly dogs in Devon (including giving them medication), a couple of energetic, young golden retrievers in Guildford, and a wisler and dachshund in Cornwall before that. We especially love getting outside with dogs, enjoying lots of walks in nature! We both work remotely, so we are at home all during the work week. Angie works part-time and flexi hours, so she is available to meet longer walking needs, if required. When we're not working, we're dedicated to the pets, and make any social plans fit around the animals' needs. We only do house-sitting, staying at the owner's house, and usually for 2+ weeks at a time. We take great care to learn from you what your animal needs and work with those needs. It's important to us that dogs and cats feel safe and comfortable with us, and that they thrive in our care. We ensure their routines are not disrupted; such as taking them on as long or short walks as they need and at the times they're used to. We can also administer medication, and give them playtime and attention.

Jo was absolutely perfect for our reactive, strong rescue dog! Jo is warm, kind and sent us updates but most importantly left us feeling totally reassured that our anxious dog would be loved and well looked after. Our dog also took to Jo and her wonderfully warm energy instantly, as did we. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

Zoe answered our request immediately even though it was at relatively short notice. We met up the next day where Freya’s immediate response was very positive. Zoe asked all the right questions to understand and get to know Freya and her idiosyncrasies. Zoe contacted us a couple of times during the three day sit on minor issues which were quickly resolved. The only problem was that when it was time for her to leave Freya insisted on following her out of the door! Zoe clearly has an infinity with dogs and a caring attitude. We felt complete confidence in her and will have no hesitation in using her again and recommending her to others. Thanks Zoe.

About: I love dogs, have owned them since childhood, and along with my sister have helped foster and find home for rescues for the past 5 years. I have a four year old small breed mix named Rue. I work from home, so I’m home all day long to give your pup the love and affection he or she craves. My apartment features a fenced backyard for free running, and is near a lovely park where dogs go to play. My recently passed dog, Baxter, had epilepsy and took medication daily, so I’m familiar with dogs with special needs as well. I’ve owned or helped foster many breeds and will listen and tend to your dogs specific needs. Dogs are like family members in my home, so will be showed the utmost comfort while you’re away.

About: Hello, We are Hannah and Sam and we've been full time global petsitters for over 3 years, from house cats in Dubai to Beagles in India. Now we are back in Exeter and want to continue our love for petsitting. We’ve been fortunate to receive many lovely reviews from pet owners who appreciate our attentive care, regular updates, and the bond we build with their pets which we are happy to share upon request! There are two of us on the profile, so your pet gets double the attention, double the love and double the care! It also means should an unforeseen event occur where one of us can't make it, you can rest easy knowing the other person can still manage the booking. Sam and I both grew up with dogs and have a deep understanding of what it takes to keep them comfortable and content. Whether it’s playing games, engaging in fun enrichment activities, or taking them on exciting walks, we treat every dog as if they are our own by making sure they feel loved, safe, and entertained while you're away! We are both local to Exeter so know of all the safe and fun walks. A dog’s routine is incredibly important to us, we find that sticking to their usual schedule keeps them happiest. Whether it's mealtime, walk times, or bedtime, we work around their routine to ensure they feel secure and comfortable. As I am self employed our schedule can align to theirs. Also, if house sitting they would have company and lots of attention throughout the day. We believe that communication is key, especially when it comes to your pet’s well-being. If we notice any changes in their behaviour or something seems off, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way, ensuring you always know how they’re doing. We have experience administering medication, including pills and topical treatments, and have cared for senior dogs, including those with hearing impairments. Whether your pet needs extra attention, a little patience, or simply their usual routine, we’re committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in our care.

Olha recently looked after my dog (Toby) whilst house sitting for a weekend. Olha is very trustworthy and kept in communication the whole time. She provided reassurance that Toby was doing okay, and sent updates including some pictures of him. Olha was amazing with Toby and looked after him so well that he didn’t want her to leave! Highly recommended.

About: Hi, I'm Clare. I am extremely passionate about animals and have had pets for many years of my life. I currently don't have any of my own pets, so am more flexible than ever, with the services that I offer. I have 10+ years experience of professional pet sitting and dog walking and also completed a dog grooming course 3 years ago, so I am haooy to negotiate grooming prices, if required. Over the course of this time, I have sat for several different animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, horses, tortoises and fish and have loved every minute of it. I believe that animals are a vital part of a family and deserve as much respect as humans. I am happy to sit for other animals again, if it's not/not just a dog that you require being looked after :) I have experience of administering medication via oral syringe, drops and tablets and have also had to apply skin cream to a horse with skin cancer!! As well as sitting, walking and grooming, i have also volunteered at an animal rescue sanctuary, in Thailand. I did this for 2 months and the experience was absolutely invaluable! I am also looking at starting up my own sitting/walking and feeding/visiting business. Most of my experience has been gained through word of mouth, family and friends and via the website Trusted Housesitters. I have quite a few reviews on there, all of which are 5*. I also ran a little doggy day care business in Spain, a few years back, and did a few house sits while i was living there. I can also get you some personal reviews for friends that I have pet sat for. I am flexible, trustworthy, honest and caring and would be more than happy to have a Zoom call or Whatsapp video call with you, if you wanted to chat, or alternatively I can pop by to meet you and your furry friends, and to have a chat. Just let me know what you'd prefer :) I Looking forward to hearing from you soon :) I run a private property rental business from home, which only requires a few hours of my time every week, so I am around most of the time to give my full attention to your gorgeous fur babies. I have expeeience of both staying in the pet owner's home, as well as boarding at my home, and treat any pets as jf they were my own. I love going out walking, playing with animals and i adore lots of cuddles! I'm also happy to give animals their own space, if they aren't so cuddly or are a bit shy to start with. I have experience of administering medication, so this won't be an issue at all.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Devon on Rover is £47.13 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 344 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Devon. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Devon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Devon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
