“Absolutely brilliant! Lupe was wonderful with our lovely Buddy, took him on fab long walks in the woods and showered him with love. He was very responsive to us via text too, sending updates and photos, very reassuring. We will definitely be booking him again.”

About: Hi, we’re Emily & Kyle ! We provide loving, professional, in-home pet sitting around Torbay so your dog can stay relaxed in their own familiar surroundings while you’re away. Unlike many sitters, someone is with your dog all of the day. Your dog would get plenty of companionship, walks, play and cuddles—not hours left alone. Our own Beagle, Daisy, is a friendly, well-trained two-year-old who accompanies us. Every introduction starts with a meet and greet to make sure they’re a perfect match. Daisy helps makes the experience a holiday for your dog by introducing a playmate or snuggle buddy! We’re fully insured, DBS checked, canine first aid trained, and experienced with dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities—from nervous dogs who need reassurance, to energetic dogs who love adventure. Our own dog has experienced separation anxiety, so we understand how important routine, patience and companionship are. Many owners choose us because their dog is happiest staying at home with someone they can trust. Your dog’s routine always comes first. Whether they want long walks, a game of fetch, or simply someone to curl up beside, we’ll care for them as if they were our own. We’d love to meet you and your pup—get in touch to arrange a free meet and greet! 🐾 Whether your pet enjoys lots of company, regular walks, playtime, or simply having someone nearby, we can provide the care and attention they need throughout the day. We walk our own dog, Daisy, for at least an hour every evening, and on weekends we love exploring new walking routes and going on longer adventures. If suitable, we’d love for your dog to join us and become part of the fun! Unfortunately, we are unable to host pets in our own home due to having elderly cats and not having the licence that is required. However, we are happy to stay in your home and care for your pets in their familiar environment, helping to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. We are fully insured and have a DBS check. Our friendly Beagle, Daisy, must accompany us during house sits for some extra company and fun. We always arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure all dogs are comfortable together.
About: I have been taking care of pets through borrow my doggy app, caring for a gorgeous border collie and many others quite recently and having had experience in my personal life of living with dogs. I am a respectful, experienced and dedicated pet sitter and helper. I enjoy all dogs and they have fun hanging out with me. Making sure their needs are met and more! Recently pet sat for a lovely black Labrador puppy for a few hours. I’m currently using this platform as my main job and therefor would be putting this first over other jobs I would have in the future as this is one of my passions. I have no prior commitments. I am available 24/7 At a pets home, I would discuss with the owner what the dog enjoys, preferences and accommodate within the discussions had and on top of that, I would bring treats specific if a diet was required. Being attentive is key and an awareness.
About: I’ve had dogs in my family ever since I was young and will soon have my own puppy to look after. I’m also very trusted by all my neighbours to look after over night of, take for a walk, or have for the day their dogs. I work from home and i have three children, two of which go to school so i am very flexible in the week and flexible at the weekends to come and care for your pets. I own my house with my own private garden, my house isn’t the biggest but it is dog proof due to having my own and I am very respectful in other peoples home, my neighbours trust me to go over and care for their animals in their own homes.

About: I have worked on farms and studied animal care everything from welfare to animal management. I have grown up around different breeds and have a passion for spending as much time with dogs as possible. I believe all dogs are unique and a blessing. I am available for dog walks and any requirement you need for your dog i look to satisfy. There is no time in the day im not available or from short notice. Unfortunately i dont have the ability to home a dog dud to living arrangements. But am happy to meet any requirements of the dog owners requests.
“Abby was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We reached out to her at the last minute, and she truly saved us. We stayed in touch throughout the day to make sure everything was going smoothly, and she always responded quickly. Dash seemed to really enjoy his time with Abby, and we will definitely book her again.”

About: Hello! I'm Harri & my better half is Jen. I have taken care of cats, dogs, and all sorts of other family pets most of my life. Jen's family used to volunteer to do puppy raising for guide dogs, so we have both always had dogs in our lives, and we love to sit our friends dogs whenever they need! We both absolutely love dogs but unfortunately aren't currently in a position to have our own, though we are on a (very long) waiting list for a beautiful Australian Shepherd puppy, which we hope to welcome into our life very soon. In the meantime, we'd love to look after your dog like they were our own! Available any time any day as currently in between jobs. Feel free to send me a request and I will fit you in around my job search. We live in a 3 storey townhouse which your dog will be free to enjoy with us. We only have a small courtyard garden but the beach is a 5 minute walk away. There is space for a crate/bed if needed. As we don't have any pets (or kids) of our own, your pup would have our full attention. We are always available to call or text for regular pupdates!

About: Although I don’t have professional pet-sitting experience, I’ve grown up around animals and have my own dog, so I understand how much love, attention and care they need. Because I work away at times, it isn’t practical for me to have more pets of my own, which is why I love having the opportunity to care for other people’s beloved animals when I am home from work. When I’m home from work, I’m home full-time, so your pet will receive plenty of companionship, attention and care throughout the day. Whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, daycare or boarding, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I’ll happily keep you updated with regular photos and messages for complete peace of mind. I love animals of all kinds and would be delighted to meet your furry family members. I can’t wait to give them lots of love, cuddles and attention while you’re away! I work on a rotational schedule, so my availability varies throughout the month. When I’m home, I’m home full time and can provide plenty of attention, walks and companionship. I keep my Rover calendar up to date, so you’ll always be able to see my availability before booking. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I’ll take the time to learn about their routine, personality and any specific needs before their stay, so they can feel as comfortable as possible. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, whether that’s feeding schedules, exercise, medication or favourite routines. My home is calm, clean and pet friendly, with plenty of space for your pet to relax. I’ll provide regular updates and photos throughout their stay, walks or my visits so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re safe, happy and well cared for.

“Carly was amazing and sent me daily updates and photos while she house sitted looking after Baggins and I felt reassured while we were on holiday he was being looked after and cared for and got loads of fuss and playtime. I would highly recommend Carly and when we go away again I will definitely want her to look after Baggins”

About: I Currently have two Cats that I helped birth Tash and Gizmo. They are my housemates. I love them to bits ! I've had cats my entire life and the most I owned was 9 when I lived on a farm ! I'm an emergency first aider, calm in a crisis and almost lost Tash last year when she was bitten by a rat. She needed surgery and it was a 3 month recovery where I didn't leave her side. I organised a fundraiser to help pay the huge vets bill after vets suggested we put her down. She's currently snuggled on my lap and I'm so glad we both fought for her to still be here ! I will treat your cats like they are my own and 99% of cats warm to me almost instantly. I've owned birds, rabbits, reptiles, rats, dogs, pygmy goats, sheep and kune kune pigs.. all as pets ! We've pet sat in the USA, Spain and even in the Peruvian jungle and have great references. Self employed and love playing and bonding with all animals. We enjoy looking after people's pets all over the world. Its purrfect for us. We treat your pets like members of our own family. We like to find out each individuals likes, needs and requirements as every pet is different

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Torbay
Wow. Just wow. Our very first experience of having a dog / cat sitter and we struck gold. Adrienne did a meet and greet beforehand and we immediately felt good vibes from her. Extremely prompt with her arrival timings. Clearly loves animal as they do her. Kept in touch whilst we were away, sending pics and videos. She phoned us immediately following an incident with another dog. Could not rate her highly enough. Would recommend her 1000%.

My second house sitting booking with Caroline. I drove away from my house knowing Koda was relaxed and content in the garden with Caroline. I particularly appreciated the photos and texts that Caroline regularly sent because the sitting took place over one of our heatwaves. I could relax because Caroline was closely assessing how Koda was coping with walks and extreme heat - photos of her relaxing in the shade of the garden/wood - moreover, walks were left until cooler periods. It was reassuring to know that Koda's needs were first and foremost. I returned to one happy dog. Once again, I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline.

George was a great comfort whilst looking after Cassie and Coral for us in our home. The dogs took to him immediately which always helps when you are leaving your dogs. When we came home, they were relaxed and seemed to have enjoyed their time with George. Highly recommended if you need someone to house sit with your fur baby.

Thank you Amber, you looked after our two dogs for 3 nights at our house. Loads of pictures and updates throughout the stay, good communication and understood the care requirements, especially for our Jack Russell who has separation anxiety and is reactive. Will definitely book again.

Victoria was amazing!!! We were so grateful that her and her partner were so caring and attentive with Riley! We had no worries he was being looked after properly and having amazing walks! Our only concern was that he loved Victoria so much he didn’t want us back!!! We are so impressed with their dog sitting - it felt like they understood Riley (who can be a special dog) and loved him like we would! Massive thank you!!!

At a moments notice Carly was able to house sit my dogs. I just moved to Torquay and when you don’t know anyone, it really means a lot. Frequent photos followed by any gossip makes time away from the pups effortless. If anyone needs a dog sitter I would 100% recommend Carly.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Torbay walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Torbay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
