“I cannot praise Adrienn too highly. My Phoebe-dog was clearly very happy with her care and company. She treated my home with great respect and left it immaculate. She even changed her bedsheets not knowing I have mobility problems and find it a real challenge, so an extra thank you Adrienn. If you want peace of mind that your dog is safe snd happy in their own home whilst you are away I wholeheartedly recommend Adrienn.”

“I am very greatful for Savannah! What a wonderful girl I can always relayed on her. I trust her with my home and my boy. She is great with my golden, really appreciate all your help Savannah!”

I grew up in Guernsey the wonderful smaller isle of the Channel Islands, and have moved to Portsmouth 4 years ago, I had been looking after my work Colleagues dogs and then he mentioned this fantastic app Rover so thought I’d join in the fun and have dogs around me more often and I love it!! I would love to help with your pets care, from a hamster to a dog I am happy to help where I can. let me help you enjoy your holiday or event you may have planned by taking out the worry of what can you do with your pet. I am DBS credited so you will have peace of mind your home will be in safe hands. I can watch your dogs, cats, birds or even the fish! I am currently not boarding at present as I am between houses, however I’m available to house sit and do drop in’s several times a day. I also offer one to one walks. No pack walks. Myself and partner both work however but our shifts are different making it easy to care for your pet. Early afternoon finishes for hubby. Late morning starts for me and we also have the weekends off. The longest they would be left is for approximately 4 hours till someone is back home. Hubby works out and about in his van so can always pop in for puppy pats and treats. we would be happy to take two dogs from the same home to board at our home. we can offer pop ins if near by early in the morning or lunch time, also walks in the afternoon and evening. High walled back yard with plenty of space to run and play. No children to pull and poke your beloved pet. Two adults who adore animals but can’t have our own. We would welcome any opportunity to look after your pet. Doggy therapy is the best.
“Absolutely brilliant! Lupe was wonderful with our lovely Buddy, took him on fab long walks in the woods and showered him with love. He was very responsive to us via text too, sending updates and photos, very reassuring. We will definitely be booking him again.”

About: About Me – Your Pup’s New Best Friend! 🐾 Hi! I’m Julie, and I’m passionate about giving dogs the same love, care, and attention they get at home—if not more! With over 30 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, I understand that every pup is unique and deserves personalised care. Whether it’s long walks, playtime in the park, cuddles on the couch, or sticking to a specific routine, I go above and beyond to make dogs feel comfortable, safe, and happy. I’m also reliable, detail-oriented, and great at following special instructions—whether it’s administering medication, managing specific diets, or handling anxious pups with patience and kindness. Your dog won’t just be looked after—they’ll be loved like family. I send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can relax knowing your furry friend is in great hands. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dog like their own, I’m the sitter for you! I work full-time, but my schedule is flexible enough to give your dog the attention and care they deserve throughout the day which is perfect for pups who need companionship, feeding, playtime, and walks during those times. If your dog is comfortable being at the office during typical work hours, I make sure they’re well-exercised, settled, and content and I’m always available for dinner, cuddles, and walks. For dogs that need extra attention or have specific needs, I’m happy to work with you to find a routine that works for everyone. You’ll also get regular updates, photos, and peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in caring and capable hands. Loving, trustworthy, and committed—I’m here to help make your dog’s day (and yours) a little easier. At the weekends your fur babies will have my undivided attention. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a house with a fully enclosed, high-fenced back garden—perfect for safe outdoor play, exercise, and fresh air without any risk of escape. The garden is secure, well-maintained, and ideal for both active dogs and those who just like to lounge in the sun. Inside, my home is calm, clean, and dog-friendly, with plenty of space for your pup to relax and feel at home. Whether your dog loves to curl up in a quiet corner or explore a new environment, they’ll feel safe, loved, and well cared for in my home. I have 2 whippets of my own who are fun loving and love to play. Your fur baby will be allowed on the sofa but can crated if required. If they sleep on the sofa during the night I have a camera that I can check in on them rather than disturb their sleep.

About: I Currently have two Cats that I helped birth Tash and Gizmo. They are my housemates. I love them to bits ! I've had cats my entire life and the most I owned was 9 when I lived on a farm ! I'm an emergency first aider, calm in a crisis and almost lost Tash last year when she was bitten by a rat. She needed surgery and it was a 3 month recovery where I didn't leave her side. I organised a fundraiser to help pay the huge vets bill after vets suggested we put her down. She's currently snuggled on my lap and I'm so glad we both fought for her to still be here ! I will treat your cats like they are my own and 99% of cats warm to me almost instantly. I've owned birds, rabbits, reptiles, rats, dogs, pygmy goats, sheep and kune kune pigs.. all as pets ! We've pet sat in the USA, Spain and even in the Peruvian jungle and have great references. Self employed and love playing and bonding with all animals. We enjoy looking after people's pets all over the world. Its purrfect for us. We treat your pets like members of our own family. We like to find out each individuals likes, needs and requirements as every pet is different

My second house sitting booking with Caroline. I drove away from my house knowing Koda was relaxed and content in the garden with Caroline. I particularly appreciated the photos and texts that Caroline regularly sent because the sitting took place over one of our heatwaves. I could relax because Caroline was closely assessing how Koda was coping with walks and extreme heat - photos of her relaxing in the shade of the garden/wood - moreover, walks were left until cooler periods. It was reassuring to know that Koda's needs were first and foremost. I returned to one happy dog. Once again, I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline.

George was a great comfort whilst looking after Cassie and Coral for us in our home. The dogs took to him immediately which always helps when you are leaving your dogs. When we came home, they were relaxed and seemed to have enjoyed their time with George. Highly recommended if you need someone to house sit with your fur baby.

I cannot praise Adrienn too highly. My Phoebe-dog was clearly very happy with her care and company. She treated my home with great respect and left it immaculate. She even changed her bedsheets not knowing I have mobility problems and find it a real challenge, so an extra thank you Adrienn. If you want peace of mind that your dog is safe snd happy in their own home whilst you are away I wholeheartedly recommend Adrienn.

Thank you Amber, you looked after our two dogs for 3 nights at our house. Loads of pictures and updates throughout the stay, good communication and understood the care requirements, especially for our Jack Russell who has separation anxiety and is reactive. Will definitely book again.

Victoria was amazing!!! We were so grateful that her and her partner were so caring and attentive with Riley! We had no worries he was being looked after properly and having amazing walks! Our only concern was that he loved Victoria so much he didn’t want us back!!! We are so impressed with their dog sitting - it felt like they understood Riley (who can be a special dog) and loved him like we would! Massive thank you!!!

At a moments notice Carly was able to house sit my dogs. I just moved to Torquay and when you don’t know anyone, it really means a lot. Frequent photos followed by any gossip makes time away from the pups effortless. If anyone needs a dog sitter I would 100% recommend Carly.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Torbay walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Torbay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
