“Emma looked after our elderly border terrier brilliantly, for a week . We came back to a peaceful, happy dog . Emma’s communication has been really good, reassuring us with pictures and updates . We also came home to a beautifully clean home ! Thank you Emma , it has been a pleasure to have you here .”

“We had a fantastic experience with Veronika. She came over for a pre-visit before our holiday and was incredibly helpful, taking the time to answer all of our questions. While we were away, she took fantastic care of our dog and kept the house beautifully clean and tidy. Her communication was amazing, and we loved receiving the regular photo and video updates. We felt totally at peace knowing everything was in such good hands. We have already quite happily booked her again for our next break!”

“Cherie was great, everything went smoothly and she sent us updates and pictures. Luna was very relaxed with her and the house was left tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cherie to anyone. We will and are using Cherie again.”

About: I love animals very much, and most of them never refuse petting and treats; for such cases, I always have long artificial nails on my left hand, and treats are kept in my desk drawer. I understand perfectly that every living creature has its own character, interests, and needs, and I am happy to satisfy them. Dogs first appeared in my house about 4 years ago, 2 Labrador mixes, aged 7 and 12. My mom took them from a shelter where we used to volunteer, walking, grooming, and photographing the dogs. In general, we spent time with them in every way possible, helping them socialize and find a home. By that time, I already had 2 cats and 2 rabbits living with me, and we also periodically took in 1-2 cats for treatment or temporary care. Then I moved in with my boyfriend, who has 2 wonderful dogs: a European husky and a Shepherd mix. I spent a lot of time with them since I wasn't working; we walked for at least 4 hours every day. When needed, I bathed and brushed them, never forgetting to treat them with snacks. They would take every free moment to get as close to me as possible so I wouldn't stop petting them. I looked after my friend's cat at his home while he and his wife were on vacation. I followed all recommendations and regularly sent photos and videos of the happy cat. I also occasionally go to help walk dogs and socialize puppies, giving them warmth and attention. Most of the time I spend at home writing a book and drawing, but for that I need inspiration, and every minute that it is absent, I am happy to devote to walks, games, and any other whims of your pet. I would be happy to follow all recommendations for caring for your pet. In case you wish to leave him/her with me, there is a guest sofa, as well as a place for a bed, blanket, or cage if the pet needs one (I do not have my own cage). From the room, there is always access to exit into a fenced garden, and there is also a wonderful park for walks right across from the house. A cat and a rabbit also live with me, but if your pet is not happy with company, I have the possibility to separate them from each other.

“Nina looked after our french bulldog Bella in our own home for the weekend (Friday-Sunday) whilst my family & I went to a family wedding. Beforehand, Nina gladly came over to meet Bella, finding out everything she needed to know in order to look after her well. This included checking Bella's routine, diet, habits etc. We knew that Nina would be popping in throughout the weekend but we feel that she went above and beyond. As we felt Bella did not need overnight visits, Nina came first thing in the morning to let her out etc and stayed for every visit at least 2-3 hours - visiting throughout the day for extended periods, before settling her for bed. Nina also sent us regular photos and videos which reassured us that Bella was being well cared for. In addition, Nina helped to train Bella which was definitely an added bonus. We 100% trusted Nina & could not have found a better dog sitter. We would absolutely recommend Nina to anyone requiring a pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking care of our family dog so well x”

“Tianna was brilliant with our rescue dog. Within a couple of minutes Katie was rolling on her back and wagging her tail! Normally she hides! We got regular updates and they seem to have had a lovely time. It was like having a family member staying to look after her. We were a little apprehensive because we hadn't had anyone to stay like this before. Tianna reassured us very quickly and charmed both us and Katie. We would thoroughly recommend her!”

“We are so pleased that we found Edita, it was clear to us straight away that she loves dogs and has a great connection with them. She agreed to have our dog at short notice and made everything so easy with great communication and flexibility about arrangements. Our dog is an elderly rescue and is quite needy, but Edita was fine with this and sent us messages and photos while we were away, giving us confidence that our dog was being cared for and was having an amazing holiday! We highly recommend Edita and won’t hesitate to ask her to look after our dog again”

About: Ever since i was young, I’ve had dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and rodents in my house to care for. I currently have a puppy, 9 months of age, who is almost perfectly house trained, showing that i can handle any level of responsibility for dogs. I am currently a college student, meaning some days may be more difficuly to do than others, so please try and book in advance! I go to college 4 days per week, so evening work is ideal for me. I also try to keep saturdays free to complete college work or other tasks. I will keep an eye on them whenever possible, ensuring that the animals’ needs are tailored too and routines (where given) are followed as necessary

I am great at sending updates during a sit, so if you wish to only receive one update and one photo please let me know and I'll make sure not to send any more than this! If you have a particularly shy or harder dog to deal with then please do not hesitate to contact me as I am confident and love a challenge. Barking does not bother me as it is just them expressing how they are feeling. About: Ive always had dogs, so im very comfortable around them and with all ages as ive helped raise my one of my dog’s puppies. Im currently a student with 2 full days off college and a further 2 days part time as I am nearing the end of my education. I have little commitments during the weekends. I am an active person who enjoys walks and getting out in nature so I can give your dogs whatever lengths of walks they may usually need. I make sure all animals are cared and have water and have gone to the toilet regularly.
“Ieuan was absolutely perfect for looking after Raffie, our 4 year old rescued failed sheep dog. They had a lovely walk together and Ieuan then kept him company for the rest of the day. Ieuan was extremely prompt in replying to my enquiry and very helpful with my questions regarding Rover as this was our first time of using them. I shall definitely use Ieuan again- if he is available!! Thank you so much. It made my day away so much more enjoyable knowing that Raffie was in safe hands.”
About: I am a reliable and intuitive pet sitter with a lifetime of hands-on experience caring for animals, having grown up with a father who was a vet. From an early age I learned not just the joy of having pets, but the responsibility that comes with properly caring for them - understanding animal behaviour, recognising subtle changes in health or mood, and appreciating the importance of routine and preventative care. Each animal has its own personality and needs, and I take time to build trust and provide calm, consistent care. As a mature and responsible mother, I am organised, dependable and respectful of both homes and routines. I understand how important peace of mind is when leaving a beloved pet, and I am committed to ensuring animals feel safe, well exercised, loved and thoroughly cared for while their owners are away. I work from home and can fit all pet care needs into a relaxed routine that works for your dog. I like to walk in the morning, after breakfast and depending on appetite often have another little perambulation in the afternoon Often it’s better for dogs to be in their own routine at home when their owners are away. Im happy to offer this service and will be with your dog/s for cuddles, feeding, walks and playtime. Please provide any details of routines you like maintained for me to implement. If home sitting doesn’t suit you, I can offer a home boarding service. I have a large home with a fenced garden and lots of fantastic countryside walks direct from my door. I have 2 friendly dogs to keep your pet company but will only take one dog into my home at any one time, so you can be assured they will get lots of love and attention. I am happy to accommodate a crate for your dog to sleep in, if that is their routine, and I am at home during the day for multiple toilet pit-stops and lots of attention.
About: I raised my 5 year old cocker spaniel, who loves ditch-the-bowl training. I'm a freelance outdoor instructor offering stimulating, long winter walks with new scents to enrich happy dogs. My two dogs enjoy morning and evening walks. With the garden always open, I provide 1-2 long weekday walks and adventurous weekend outings away from Sherborne. My garden is fenced, so they cannot escape. My two dogs will keep your dog company who are both very friendly and are used to other dogs staying. If they were to travel in the van I have seat belt clips, clips and a crate in the rear. I have a crate if your dog needs it's own space in the house too (Rusty sleeps under the stairs and Indi can sleep in our bedroom, so your dog can either sleep in the kitchen or living room). If you needed me to stay at your house, then I don't have to bring my dogs as my partner also works from home. We love dogs! We don't have children so they get a lot of fuss. I tend to use kibble/treats on their first walk with a retractable lead, to get a sense of recall and connection with the dog.
“Danielle was able to come and look after Timmy at short notice. We fitted in a meet and greet before she came . He was looked after very well , long walks everyday and photos , communication were frequent during the stay . Left the house tidy and clean , I would recommend Danielle .”

I have looked after dogs of all breeds and ages as well as being able to manage dogs with all kinds of behavioural traits. I have a full clean driving licence so am able to travel to and from clients houses with ease. I would be honoured to spend time with your fury friends and shower them with love and affection. I know that many people may also have other pets! I have fish and a rabbit so I am also well versed in the care requirements for other fury friends and creatures! I work 3 days a week. I am available for drop in visits and for short & long term stays. I have a car and am happy to drive in order to fulfill requirements. I would preferably travel to the owners home as I have pets of my own but I am able to travel to the necessities location for the sitting.

Veronika was absolutely amazing- she took perfect care of my old dogs and my home. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond in her care for them. I would highly recommend her and would definitely ask her to care for them again. I was really impressed!!

We had a great experience with Annabelle over the weekend. She took wonderful care of our dog, and sent us regular updates, and was a pleasure to communicate with throughout. We also came home to a clean and tidy house, which we really appreciated. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

Sheana was great, I have been apprehensive on this app as I have not used it before and I have a new pup but Sheana came to visit which kept us at ease, she was very friendly and reassuring. Throughout the visit she sent lots of pics and Ralph had a great time. 🐶🌹

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Somerset choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
