“Michaela was amazing, Bruce has happy and relaxed with her straight away and our cat loved her! She kept in touch and was very quick to respond to messages. Will definitely book again soon!”

“Kev was a great sitter - she obviously loves and cares for dogs. She kept me updated with lots of videos and pictures on their adventures, and I felt reassured that my dog was getting all the love and attention he desires.”

About: Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a 29 year old working professional based in Taunton and I live with my partner in a fully detached house with a large secure enclosed garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to play and explore. I’ve grown up around both cats and dogs all my life, and featured in my photo is our family dog Coco, a mini Pomeranian who I absolutely adore. I regularly dog sit for friends over weekends and love taking their dogs out for walks and adventures in the countryside. I enjoy being outdoors and discovering new walking spots, so your dog will get lots of exercise, attention and companionship. I work from home on Mondays, meaning I’m around throughout the day for walks, toilet breaks, feeding and company. Although we don’t currently have pets living with us, our home is very pet friendly and calm, making it a great environment for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m available on weekends and love spending time outdoors on long walks and adventures with dogs. Most of my friends have dogs and I love going for Saturday morning coffee and dog walks with them. I also work from home on Mondays, so I’m around all day for walks, feeding, toilet breaks and plenty of company. Your dog will get lots of attention, playtime and care throughout their stay! Your dog will be cared for in a calm, loving home with a large secure enclosed garden where they can safely play and explore. I currently don’t have pets, so your dog will have plenty of space and attention. I always make sure dogs are well looked after, exercised, comfortable and treated like part of the family!

“Excellent caring service. Grace and Rhodri provided love and attention to all 3 dogs. All 3 took to them straight away. Updates with photos and messages. They all looked like they had a whale of a time. Checked the dogs and took care of a few ticks after their walk on the fields!! House was left clean and tidy and even loaded the washing machine with the used bedsheets and towels. Hope you guys enjoyed your stay in our little slice of heaven!!”
About: I own a gorgeous mixed dog breed so have direct experience as well as my childhood home hosting various cats and dogs. I have dealt with heartbreak and pure pleasure. Currently in between jobs so could do with some extra money. Each week I can be flexible. Evenings are also a possibility as well as weekends. I have a modest sized house with sufficient fencing. I live alone. No children. I own a dog myself so I am very aware of what is too much .

About: Hi! I’m Holly, an early 30s cat obsessed Architect based in North Petherton. Having grown up in rural Cornwall surrounded by animals, I settled in Kent in 2011 before returning to the south west in 2024. Cats are one of nature’s greatest gifts, and their perception of both human emotions and their own surroundings are unrivalled. Whether large or small, from Tigers to Munchkins, all cats are fantastic beings that deserve the best care. I have a range of experience in looking after these majestic creatures, some with complex medical needs and others who simply tolerate the presence of us mere humans. I’m able to assess the mood of various cats and treat them accordingly, ensuring that their boundaries are respected and allowing them to both feel loved and continue their daily routine in their own home whilst you are away. Understanding the needs of different breeds also creates bespoke interactions and unrivalled care.
About: Hello 🤗 I recently moved to the UK from the US and, sadly, I haven't been able to bring my cat, Octavia, with me yet. I've had her for about seven years, so really miss having a cat around! I thought pet sitting would be a lovely way to get my "cat fix" as I genuinely enjoy meeting new cats and spending time playing with them (and providing plenty of cuddles). You can be sure your cat(s) would be in very caring and loving hands with me ☺️ I work as a water scientist, and when I'm not travelling for fieldwork, I work from home with a flexible schedule. This allows me to easily fit in cat care throughout the day, including regular feeding, playtime, and check-ins. I'm happy to provide consistent care that follows your cat's usual routine, and can adjust my schedule to accommodate any specific needs or timings. I will always follow your instructions closely to ensure continuity and comfort for your cat. I will provide regular feeding, fresh water, litter box maintenance, and lots of attention and reassurance. When in your home, I will keep the environment clean and secure, and will any specific routines or rules your cat is used to. If needed, I can also administer medication as directed and keep a log of feeding, toileting, and behaviour if requested.
“This was our first time having Julie look after our boy and she was fantastic from start to finish! We got regular updates with pics, it was clear our pup obviously had a fantastic day. We thoroughly recommend Julie and our dog will be thrilled to see her again soon! 🐶”

About: With lots of hands on experience caring for animals after many years of pet ownership! From owning pets at the age of three, to looking after loved ones' pets and working in wildlife conservation - I am a huge animal lover and have spent nearly my whole life surrounded by them! My experience mostly lies with dogs, cats and rabbits - but also varies from sea turtles to other marine animals! In my background, I have developed a strong knowledge and understanding of animals and their needs. I know how important it is to provide them with attention, companionship, exercise and, most importantly, safety! I am familiar with caring for pets - including feeding, walking, administering basic care, maintaining routines and ensuring they feel comfortable and happy. I am currently a Marine Biology student, who loves nature/animals and will be living at home over the summer, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets and provide them with bespoke care! At my home, I have a front gate/porch and a fenced back garden to keep your fur baby safe and secure. Also, I can easily crate your pet if necessary. I do not have any other pets or children present in my home environment, nor is it a busy setting with lots of activity or high noise levels. I believe clear communication is key, as I am aware that each pet is unique and has individual requirements, alongside every owner having personal preferences. I will always do my very best to provide the top level of care for your pet.
“Tianna came over to meet Freddie before the dates of the booking to run through things and meet him. She got on well with him and took time to Understand him. He’s a lurcher and a bit of a wuss lol. Oniy my second time away from him. Freddie was really well cared for and loved Tianna staying. He slept with her and she kept in touch and checked things so he didn’t fret too much She’s a kind responsible person who I thoroughly trusted and would recommend. Freddie is now trying to find her! Come back Tianna lol 🐶🐾”

“We were a little worried about having a house sitter for our two pugs. We found Karen on Rover.com and she was trustworthy, bonded with our dogs very quickly and really looked after them very well. We received photos every day whilst away and Karen was the perfect house sitter. We could see that our dogs were very happy on our return. Thank you Karen”

“Yet again Matthew came and looked after Sid while we went on our holiday. Yet again came home to a clean and tidy house and a very happy Sid. I cannot recommend Matthew highly enough. He is always my go to when I need a sitter for Sid. Very happy 😊”

“Caitlin met Freddie prior to the booking to ensure everyone was happy. Caitlin was able to answer all our questions and was really flexible. She instantly put us at ease and Freddie loved her instantly. We came home to one very happy dog. We’ll definitely be booking Caitlin again.”

About: I know dogs well and can handle all and any, however as I have a small child now I only accept well behaved dogs, easy to walk and dogs that will get along with my dog. I’ll treat your dog as if he/she were my own - with lots of love and care and the occasional sneaky sprat. We have an acre of land your dog(s) can run around and play with my dog Jett and some fantastic walks nearby that we do at least twice a day. I am currently not working and am a stay at home mother to my dog and child, we spend most days pottering around the garden and enjoying the outdoors. We have a fenced off acre of land where dogs can run around freely at their own leisure. On a cold day we would go for a walk in the woods and then cozy up by the fire to warm up.

Laura made an immediate impression on Benji…. He loved his day with her and I came home to a very happy boy. From my perspective Laura kept me informed at every step of the way, sent me loads of updates with photos and videos and I can not recommend her enough. Will definitely be using again.
No problems here with Michaela sitting my dog and all went well. Michaela seems to be very knowledgeable and confident around dogs, and is very good with my sensitive and quirky little dog. I'd have no hesitation in asking her to mind my dog again and no hesitation in recommending.
Harriet was brilliant to say she would spend the day looking after our very excitable rescue border collie with separation anxiety. She arranged an initial meeting with him and we were able to talk through his issues and routines. Harriet was very kind, patient and caring. She listened and followed all our instructions and kept in touch for updates. They had a lovely day together. We would fully recommend Harriet to as a dog sitter and we will be using her again.
Emily looked after our golden retriever for 2 weeks while we were on holiday. She made the effort to meet up before we went away to meet him and talk about his routine. Emily sent reassuring updates and photos which really helped put our mind at ease and allowed us to enjoy our holiday.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Taunton Deane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
