It’s been lovely to meet Kev and to have her look after my home and Lola. Kev is kind, capable, trustworthy and really loves dogs. They’ve had a great time together in the house and on walks, and Kev kept me updated with photos. Kev also took good care of my home. Highly recommended!

About: Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a 29 year old working professional based in Taunton and I live with my partner in a fully detached house with a large secure enclosed garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to play and explore. I’ve grown up around both cats and dogs all my life, and featured in my photo is our family dog Coco, a mini Pomeranian who I absolutely adore. I regularly dog sit for friends over weekends and love taking their dogs out for walks and adventures in the countryside. I enjoy being outdoors and discovering new walking spots, so your dog will get lots of exercise, attention and companionship. I work from home on Mondays, meaning I’m around throughout the day for walks, toilet breaks, feeding and company. Although we don’t currently have pets living with us, our home is very pet friendly and calm, making it a great environment for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m available on weekends and love spending time outdoors on long walks and adventures with dogs. Most of my friends have dogs and I love going for Saturday morning coffee and dog walks with them. I also work from home on Mondays, so I’m around all day for walks, feeding, toilet breaks and plenty of company. Your dog will get lots of attention, playtime and care throughout their stay! Your dog will be cared for in a calm, loving home with a large secure enclosed garden where they can safely play and explore. I currently don’t have pets, so your dog will have plenty of space and attention. I always make sure dogs are well looked after, exercised, comfortable and treated like part of the family!

About: Hi! I’m Holly, an early 30s cat obsessed Architect based in North Petherton. Having grown up in rural Cornwall surrounded by animals, I settled in Kent in 2011 before returning to the south west in 2024. Cats are one of nature’s greatest gifts, and their perception of both human emotions and their own surroundings are unrivalled. Whether large or small, from Tigers to Munchkins, all cats are fantastic beings that deserve the best care. I have a range of experience in looking after these majestic creatures, some with complex medical needs and others who simply tolerate the presence of us mere humans. I’m able to assess the mood of various cats and treat them accordingly, ensuring that their boundaries are respected and allowing them to both feel loved and continue their daily routine in their own home whilst you are away. Understanding the needs of different breeds also creates bespoke interactions and unrivalled care.

The quality of service and care that Grace and Rhodri provide is exemplary - I am so impressed and will definitely be booking again for future holidays. We have an elderly cat and a very anxious dog who between them have fairly complex needs meaning neither could be looked after away from their home. Grace and Rhodri have been superb in making sure Moy and Jess are as happy as can be. This meant that we could relax on our holiday too. The daily updates on how things were going with photos, videos and a commentary was fantastic and so reassuring. I can't thank Grace and Rhodri enough - they're pet angels! 👼

About: I own a gorgeous mixed dog breed so have direct experience as well as my childhood home hosting various cats and dogs. I have dealt with heartbreak and pure pleasure. Currently in between jobs so could do with some extra money. Each week I can be flexible. Evenings are also a possibility as well as weekends. I have a modest sized house with sufficient fencing. I live alone. No children. I own a dog myself so I am very aware of what is too much .

About: With lots of hands on experience caring for animals after many years of pet ownership! From owning pets at the age of three, to looking after loved ones' pets and working in wildlife conservation - I am a huge animal lover and have spent nearly my whole life surrounded by them! My experience mostly lies with dogs, cats and rabbits - but also varies from sea turtles to other marine animals! In my background, I have developed a strong knowledge and understanding of animals and their needs. I know how important it is to provide them with attention, companionship, exercise and, most importantly, safety! I am familiar with caring for pets - including feeding, walking, administering basic care, maintaining routines and ensuring they feel comfortable and happy. I am currently a Marine Biology student, who loves nature/animals and will be living at home over the summer, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets and provide them with bespoke care! At my home, I have a front gate/porch and a fenced back garden to keep your fur baby safe and secure. Also, I can easily crate your pet if necessary. I do not have any other pets or children present in my home environment, nor is it a busy setting with lots of activity or high noise levels. I believe clear communication is key, as I am aware that each pet is unique and has individual requirements, alongside every owner having personal preferences. I will always do my very best to provide the top level of care for your pet.

Im currently a student with 2 full days off college and a further 2 days part time as I am nearing the end of my education. I have little commitments during the weekends. About: I know dogs well and can handle all and any, however as I have a small child now I only accept well behaved dogs, easy to walk and dogs that will get along with my dog. I’ll treat your dog as if he/she were my own - with lots of love and care and the occasional sneaky sprat. We have an acre of land your dog(s) can run around and play with my dog Jett and some fantastic walks nearby that we do at least twice a day. I am currently not working and am a stay at home mother to my dog and child, we spend most days pottering around the garden and enjoying the outdoors. We have a fenced off acre of land where dogs can run around freely at their own leisure. On a cold day we would go for a walk in the woods and then cozy up by the fire to warm up.

Harriet was brilliant to say she would spend the day looking after our very excitable rescue border collie with separation anxiety. She arranged an initial meeting with him and we were able to talk through his issues and routines. Harriet was very kind, patient and caring. She listened and followed all our instructions and kept in touch for updates. They had a lovely day together. We would fully recommend Harriet to as a dog sitter and we will be using her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Taunton Deane on Rover is £44.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 704 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Taunton Deane. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Taunton Deane walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Taunton Deane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
