“Kaitlin has been great, we received regular updates about how the cats were getting on during her daily visits. She kindly disposed of some unwanted gifts/offerings they left, and neither seem too annoyed with us that we went away!”

“This is the first time I have used Rover. I was introduced to to Victoria E, we met up to meet the dog before going away. She was an instant hit with the dog. She followed my instructions and all went well. I would recommend her 100%”

About: With lots of hands on experience caring for animals after many years of pet ownership! From owning pets at the age of three, to looking after loved ones' pets and working in wildlife conservation - I am a huge animal lover and have spent nearly my whole life surrounded by them! My experience mostly lies with dogs, cats and rabbits - but also varies from sea turtles to other marine animals! In my background, I have developed a strong knowledge and understanding of animals and their needs. I know how important it is to provide them with attention, companionship, exercise and, most importantly, safety! I am familiar with caring for pets - including feeding, walking, administering basic care, maintaining routines and ensuring they feel comfortable and happy. I am currently a Marine Biology student, who loves nature/animals and will be living at home over the summer, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets and provide them with bespoke care! At my home, I have a front gate/porch and a fenced back garden to keep your fur baby safe and secure. Also, I can easily crate your pet if necessary. I do not have any other pets or children present in my home environment, nor is it a busy setting with lots of activity or high noise levels. I believe clear communication is key, as I am aware that each pet is unique and has individual requirements, alongside every owner having personal preferences. I will always do my very best to provide the top level of care for your pet.
“Katie has been looking after Rambo for the second time and all went smooth, always keeping me updated with foros of Rambo and he seamed very happy too ☺️ thank you for looking after Rambo”
About: I am a fully insured and qualified professional, having studied animal management level 3. During my studies, I gained experience walking, caring for and training dogs and various other animals. I have been pet sitting for 5 years now and have experience with animals needing medication, specialised care and anxiety. I have two cats myself, and have experience with birds, rabbits, small pets like hamsters and many other animals. I am currently available weekdays as well as weekends so have plenty of time to look after animals as well as check up on them I have experience with different animals and many different needs that they may have and am able to adjust well and see what they may need at anytime.

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals of all sizes, so being around animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve had multiple pets growing up and am very comfortable with different temperaments, routines, and needs. I’ve also pet sat for friends and family on many occasions, looking after dogs and other animals in their homes and making sure they are well cared for and settled. I’m confident, calm, and tend to be the first person to approach and connect with an animal, even if they are shy or unsure. My focus is always on building trust, keeping routines consistent, and making sure animals feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. Pet care fits really well into my daily routine as I currently work from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility and time throughout the day. I’m available for walks during the day, as well as drop-ins, and I can offer boarding any day of the week. Having a flexible schedule means I can give dogs consistent attention, regular exercise, and company throughout the day. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so the pet feels safe and settled. I take time to understand their feeding, walking, and comfort needs, and always prioritise calm, attentive care. I’m very respectful of others homes. I make sure things are left clean and tidy, including food areas, floors after walks, and any mess that may happen during the day. I’m mindful of keeping doors, gates, and any house rules exactly as requested, and I always ensure everything is secure and as I found it before leaving. My aim is for both the pet and owner to come home to a calm, clean, and well-cared-for space.

“Katie was the perfect person to look after my 2 cats. They both took to her straight away as she was calm and quiet and knowledgeable. The updates and photos that she sent me were so reassuring and I came back to two very happy cats. I would definitely recommend her and I shall be booking her for my next trip.”

“First time ever using a cat sitter and I was quite anxious — but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Our little Pumpkin was clearly well cared for, communication was great, and we came home to a happy, relaxed cat. We felt completely reassured and would 100% book again. Thank you so much!”

About: I have a beautiful Labradoodle named Otto and have been caring for dogs since I was young. I work from home Wednesday through Friday, and with a spacious, secure garden, my home is the perfect environment for pets to feel comfortable and cared for. I work from home Wednesday to Friday and manage my own schedule, which allows me to be highly flexible and available to help whenever needed. I have a beautiful big garden that’s safe and secure which is perfect for lots of time in the garden. I also have a tiled porch, which is great for the hotter days.
“Jennifer did a great job of looking after Otto over the weekend and was able to customise the visit to suit my needs. She gave him some company through the day, took him out for a couple of walks and sent me regular updates through the Rover app while she was with him. Otto was clearly very happy with her and we'll be glad to get Jennifer's help again in the future!”

“Thank you Fay. I once again came home to a very happy Pepper. Between your visits, she seemed relaxed and happy when I checked in on her on the cat cam 😊 Fay is brilliant. She's punctual and communicative; she always let's me know when she's on her way and provides lovely updates with photos. ”

“We’d never left our dog with anyone before, so we were naturally quite nervous, but Hatty made us feel totally at ease from the very beginning. She was super friendly, easy to talk to, and clearly experienced. She asked all the right questions and really took the time to get to know our dog. While we were away, she sent us regular updates and photos, which made such a difference. It was so reassuring to see how happy and relaxed our dog was—we could tell she was being really well looked after. It’s very clear how much she loves dogs and she really went above and beyond to give our dog her own holiday while we were on ours! When we got home, our dog was calm and content, and everything at the house was just as we left it. You can tell Hatty genuinely cares. We’ve already said we’ll be booking her again next time”

I have also worked in stable yards and have a Level 3 in animal management from college study. I am passionate about animals and enjoy being surrounded by them. Absolutely solid - Angela loved my cats & obviously cared for them extremely well & sent regular updates while I was away. She also watered my plants - a boon in this heatwave. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter.
Thank you Katie for the wonderful care you gave my cat. He needed eye drops which can be a stressful task and you did it effortlessly. You also provided dedicated out of hours care and medication which ensured he had the recommended doses each day for a very painful eye ulcer. When he was hospitalised you sent lovely pictures of him and reassuring updates that he was settled and eating well. Thank you once again for all your excellent care.

Highly recommend. Cats were all happy and well looked after when we came home. Katie took her time to write lovely reports, play with them and make them feel at ease. She even managed to stroke our notoriously grumpy cat! Will 100% work with Katie again for peace of mind when I go away..

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
