I’ve grown up caring for animals of all sizes throughout my life. After my beloved beagle passed away in 2020, I began hosting other people’s pets — and I’ve never looked back. I’ve welcomed dogs of all breeds and personalities, and it’s always a joy to see regular guests pulling their owners to my door, eager to start their holiday with me!

I would not leave my dog with Maria again. Communication was quite poor, she sent one text to say everything was fine and my cocker spaniel was good as gold. However, when I collected her, it transpired that Maria was at work the whole time and she was actually being looked after by her parents. Her parents said they wouldn’t have her again because her tail wagged too much (she’s a dog, tails wag!) and complained that she whined at night. It turned out they had put up a gate to shut my dog in and I had explicitly said before the booking that she shouldn’t be shut behind a door or gate because this reminds her of being in the rescue centre. Her collar was damaged when I got her home, and her tag missing. She came back very subdued and visibly upset. We’ve used may dog sitters on Rover with no issues like this before!
Maria was great - thank you Maria! Lovely big garden for Poppy to play in. Reassuring welcome. One little suggestion would be to maybe check in with the owner after the first night with an update of how the dog was doing. Otherwise, very satisfied.
Maria took fantastic care of our Springer Spaniel, Bilbo. She was really friendly towards him, gave him lots of attention and kept us updated with comments and photos. We could tell when we collected Bilbo that he had been incredibly well looked after. She took him out on walks and made sure he also had fun by playing ball with him. She promptly answered any queries we had, and looked after him extremely well. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Maria to take care of Bilbo again.

Schedule
I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of free days to spend quality time with your pet. I only look after dogs on my days off work, to ensure I am at home at all times to give your beloved pet as much cuddles and attention as they wish, as well as providing them with their exercise and toilet needs.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home has a secure front and back garden, so your dog will always be safe. The back garden is large with plenty of grass — perfect for a game of fetch or a good run around. Gates are always closed and double-checked to prevent any escape attempts! Inside the house, I use a movable safety gate that can be placed wherever you prefer — for example, at the bottom of the stairs or in the kitchen. I'm happy for pets to join us on the furniture and upstairs, but if you’d prefer to keep to your home’s rules, I’ll make sure to do the same.
A typical day
I have a big, secure garden which we can play fetch in. If you’re happy for your dog to do hurdles and they’re physically fit enough, I love doing hurdles with them in the back garden. Many dogs I’ve looked after have loved hurdles and get really excited. There is also a nearby field just one minute away from us.
