“Very happy to recommend Trina’s service. She was extremely welcoming and clearly enjoys looking after her “guests”. Lovely garden for Sparkle to explore. We were able to enjoy our day at a wedding even more knowing that Sparkle was being well cared for”

“Octavia took wonderful care of Biscuit for 10 days! Many lovely updates with pics and videos of a very happy, well looked-after pup. I don’t think she wanted to come home in the end! It truly felt like Biscuit was welcomed into the family with Octavia and co, and I’m sure we’ll be trusting her to care for Biscuit again in the future. Thanks again for everything! x”

About: I've been around dogs most of my life and have owned several dogs. My most recent dog, a Springer Spaniel, was with me for 13 years. Since he passed, I have looked after several of my friend's dogs. I am also registered with Guide Dogs as a Puppy Fosterer and have looked after lots of their dogs as well. I am retired so have lots of time to devote to your dog. I love going for long walks and exploring my local area. I also enjoy sea swimming. I have a fenced garden and 2 doors to my main front door offering extra security when I have visitors. I have plenty of space for a crate if needed.

“Lucy was great, she looked after and cared for Frank on his first stay with another family. Kept me updated with photos and videos of his stay and walks which he seemed to really enjoy. Would definitely recommend”

About: I offer daycare and dog boarding for a small number of dogs, who will have me, my husband, and our own dog Rufus for company day and night. Rufus is an eight-year-old ''viszlador", a wire-haired viszla / lab cross. He gets on best with females, but he's also fine with males once properly introduced. We have no other pets. We take 2-3 daily walks on the footpaths, coastal paths and beaches of the area, and your dog will have access to our enclosed garden and plenty of toys. I work part-time from home, so I'm always around and am easily able to schedule in some play time and plenty of exercise. We have an enclosed garden and enclosed rear courtyard. Your dog will have access to their own spot in the house if he or she wants some quiet time away from any other dogs. We will agree in advance to any particular preferences you have, such as when (or if) it's OK to let your dog off the lead, sleeping arrangements, feeding schedule etc.
“The first boarding attempt! It turned out to be that Kai, who normally takes longer to settle in less familiar places, slept through the night, while Jet, who is normally easy-going, had trouble calming down and falling asleep. Alison was very patient, and correctly analysed that Jet (the brightest and the most sensitive between the boys) realising that my husband and I were not going to be with him during the night was the cause. I was glad that Alison gave me her honest opinions. She also showed good undersanding of the boys' behaviour and showed great care for them. Thank you Alison, and have a good rest! Hopefully, it'll be better next time!”

“for zulu first time staying overnight and hearing that she bonded with all the family is amazing. Zulu truly loves coming to yours and spending time with all the family especially the spending time with the kids and making you all smile alot. She truly is spoilt when she there which is so lovely to see especially when i come and pick her up as this is what she gets a home. Thank you so much for the service and the update with photos and videos of zulu first time trying the car and the beach. You guys are truly outstanding and love the fact that you guys get to enjoy spending time with Zulu and enjoy her just like i do ❤️”

“I was nervous to leave my boy with a dog sitter but I had no reason to worry at all. He has clearly had the best time being looked after by Nicky In her home. Regular updates of how he was getting on, and was great for him to make a new doggy friend too with Nicky’s own dog. I will be in touch next time he (I) need a holiday!!”

“We booked our dog, Nelly in with Claudia last minute due to being let down. She was really accommodating, making sure she knew everything about Nelly before she arrived. Claudia kept in touch during the whole stay, sending videos, photos and updates. Nelly had a fantastic time and looked like she had a better holiday than we did.”

“Couldn't of asked for a nice person to look after Rocco would highly recommend her and her lovely family Rocco didn't want to come home he had a lovely stay and Stacey up loaded pictures for me everyday. That made me feel very at ease as he's never stayed any were before ❤️”

“Our pups had the best holiday with Vanessa. Was their first time staying with anyone since we have moved to Devon and they had the best time, you can tell they were truly looked after and spoilt. We met Vanessa before and did a couple of hours a few weeks prior to get the dogs used to it all, and the day they were staying for the weekend they were both itching to get in the house which as an owner you couldn't ask for more. We had regular updates and Vanessa made sure they followed the same routine they are used to which was perfect. We would choose for our pups to stay there again in a heartbeat.”

“Loki clearly had an amazing stay with Ela and has come home one very happy boy. We loved the daily pup dates and photos. He was clearly very settled and happy with Ela and enjoyed his adventures with her. 5 ⭐️ and we are looking already at booking his next stay with Ela. Highly recommend.”

About: From the age of 6 my family adopted a dog and I walked and cared for him. Since then I have always loved dogs and their very individual personalities. Every time I visit my father in Spain, I happily am the one who cares for his dog. I am currently looking for work that I can do online, so that when I do have work, I would also be able to be home with the dog. Tuesdays and Wednesdays I usually visit a friend to work on an art project, although should you require a full week of dog sitting, book in advance and I can rearrange this. The dog would have access to a fenced garden. There are a few parks locally where the dog can also relieve themselves and exercise. Dogs being pack animals do love attention and I love to pet.

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter than Matt! He looked after our dog Nellie for a week, and from start to finish, he was absolutely fantastic. Matt was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with Nellie, taking the time to make sure she felt comfortable, settled, and happy throughout her stay. It was clear that he genuinely cared about her wellbeing and treated her as if she were his own. One thing we especially appreciated was how regularly Matt kept us updated. He frequently sent us photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Seeing Nellie happy, relaxed, and enjoying herself made all the difference and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip knowing she was in such good hands. We are so grateful for the care, attention, and dedication Matt showed. Nellie had a wonderful time, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Thank you, Matt!”

“Ernie clearly had such a lovely time at Jacqui’s this weekend. The pics and videos she sent to me showed what a lovely, varied weekend he had with woodland and beach walks. He is now a very tired pup!”

“Mark and Donna, were the most loving and caring hosts to my little Freya. I had only previously left her with family members. I was so torn to leave her with strangers, who also provided day care to other fur babies. Mark was so reassuring with reassurance, photos, and videos that my time away was pleasurable and not filled with added worries. We are going to book again for April next year, I wouldn’t book again if I had any doubts or concerns.”

“Bridget and Nick are such an amazing couple. They were so accommodating for pick up and drop off. They kept us informed and comforted throughout Morris’s stay and couldn’t have found a lovely pair to look after him.”

About: I am self-employed, which gives me a lot of flexibility with my availability and hours. I also have two animal-loving children who are at nursery and school during the day, allowing me plenty of time for feeding visits, companionship, playtime and check-ins 🐱💕 I understand how important it is for pet owners to know their cats are safe, comfortable and well cared for while they are away. I always make sure pets have a calm, clean and secure environment, follow routines carefully, and give them plenty of attention, reassurance and fuss. I am respectful of owners’ homes and will always keep communication open with updates and photos if requested 😊

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
