Baffy was so well looked after by Hannah and Jordan, many thanks. Secure private garden, regular walks to a network of local parks and the beach and plenty of playing in between. His likes and preferences were all catered for. I would unhesitatingly recommend Hannah and Jordan for your dog's worry-free stay

I can highly recommend Sophie. She recently looked after my 7 month old golden retriever and she was fantastic. He was well looked after and we received regular updates and photos. She even ensured his training continued and he had exposure to other dogs, which was invaluable for his development. We will definitely be booking her again.

This is a really easy review to write, and throughly deserved. It’s never easy leaving part of your family with someone you don’t know, but my mind was put at ease immediately when I dropped him off. Hector, our Australian Labrador had a great time and I’m sure didn’t want to come home. Comms were fantastic throughout, we received regular messages accompanied each time with photos of him, out for a runs visiting parks and many other areas it seemed. He also made himself at home on the sofa and bed but Nicola always checked first what was allowed. If we’re back in the area Hector will most certainly be staying again, and we can’t recommend highly enough.

This was Bobbies second stay with Stacey, also her longest stay with anyone. As soon as we dropped Bobbie off she went to Stacey, it was so reassuring to see that your dog is very comfortable with someone other than family. Once again Stacey took amazing care of Bobbie, we received lovely photos & videos throughout her stay to reassure us. You could see that Bobbie had settled well & was having a wonderful time. Not only did Stacey & her family treat Bobbie like their own dog, but they also even bought her a gift of some lovely toys for her to take home, so kind and completely unexpected. We will definitely be booking with Stacey and her family again; we are completely reassured that Bobbie has a lovely time while away & is as well cared for as we could wish for. We cannot recommend Stacey highly enough - Thank you

About: I have had dogs throughout my life and have always loved being around them. Over the years, I have gained plenty of experience caring for dogs, including providing daycare and dog-sitting services for a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes. I am confident looking after dogs with different personalities and needs, and I understand the importance of giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. I enjoy taking dogs on regular walks in the park near my home, as well as longer walks through the surrounding countryside, giving them the opportunity to explore and stay active. I have a friendly dog of my own who loves having other dogs around for company. He is very sociable, playful, and enjoys making new friends, which helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment for visiting dogs. I am passionate about providing a safe, caring, and enjoyable experience for every dog I look after, treating them as if they were my own. I am available throughout weekends and have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your dog. We are usually at home or out enjoying adventures with our own dog, Norman, so any visiting dogs will have lots of company, attention, and opportunities for exercise. Whether it’s relaxing at home, enjoying playtime, or exploring the outdoors on walks, I will make sure every dog feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I love being able to give dogs the time, care, and companionship they need while their owners are away. We have a spacious three-bedroom house with plenty of room for dogs to feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay. Dogs are welcome throughout the house, including on the furniture and even in the bed, so they can enjoy all the home comforts and feel part of the family. We also have a secure garden where dogs can safely play, relax, and enjoy some outdoor time. Our own dog, Norman, is very friendly and loves having other dogs around. He enjoys making new friends and helps create a fun, welcoming environment for any visiting dogs. Our home is a safe, friendly, and dog-loving space where your dog can settle in, enjoy plenty of attention, and feel right at home.

About: I currently own a 14 year old male Chihuahua named Milo. Myself and my boyfriend live in a home near central park but also have a lovely secure garden. In November 2025, alongside working full time I have been providing dog/house sitting for a 13 year old Pekingese, 2 guinea pigs and chicken where I offer a high level of care, administer oral medicine and take care of eye treatment and I understand the importance of patience, routine, and attentive care — especially with senior dogs. I have really taken to enjoying looking after someone else's pets so I registered as self employed and have decided to pick up some Rover clients too! I have experience with owning my own dog, a rabbit when I was around 11, plus my grandparents had sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, and all manner of farm animals which I was happily involved in from a young age! My work schedule varies as I currently work full-time, with typical shifts falling between Monday–Saturday (8:30am–5:30pm) and Sunday (10am–4pm). However, I’m always happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs and come to an arrangement that works best for them. Whether your pet is comfortable with shorter periods alone or requires more companionship, walks, medication, or check-ins throughout the day, I’ll always be transparent about my availability and ensure they receive the care, attention, and routine they need to feel happy and secure. My home provides a safe, clean, calm, and loving environment for your pet while they’re in my care. I live in a house with a fully enclosed and secure garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to enjoy. I will be the sole caregiver for your pet, allowing me to provide consistent attention, supervision, and routine throughout their stay. I’m experienced and comfortable caring for dogs with additional needs, including administering medication and following specific dietary requirements or schedules. Having a senior dog myself, I understand how important patience, gentle handling, and maintaining familiar routines can be. My Chihuahua, Milo, is very friendly and still enjoys his daily walks — whether that’s a shorter 20-minute stroll around the block or longer 50–60 minute walks around the Central Park loop, depending on your dog’s energy levels and needs. Your dog’s comfort and safety will always come first, which is why I strongly recommend a meet & greet before any initial booking. This helps ensure everyone gets along well and gives you complete confidence that your pet will feel happy, secure, and relaxed during their stay.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t recommend Julia highly enough! ❤️ Hildi felt completely at home during her stay, and it was obvious she was loved, well cared for, and treated like part of the family. Knowing she was in such wonderful hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I was especially grateful that Julia was able to help me out at such short notice. I urgently needed boarding because of an important family event abroad, and she went above and beyond to accommodate us. That meant the world to me. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter or boarding experience. If you want to be absolutely certain that your dog is in the best possible hands while you’re away, I can wholeheartedly recommend Julia. She genuinely cares for every dog as if they were her own. Thank you so much for everything! I really hope Hildi will be able to come back and stay with you again. 🐾❤️

FAQs for Boarding - Plymouth

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Plymouth on Rover is £31.43 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 201 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Plymouth. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
