“Molly and her partner were fantastic at looking after Kanan for his short stay. He settled right in and took to them straight away and had his fill of cuddles and play. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again!”

“Hannah & Jordan took such wonderful care of Woody, he has had a brilliant time with multiple walks per day in different locations, swims, brushes and cozy sofa time and cuddles. We felt really bad that we couldn't bring Woody away with us and were nervous leaving him but Hannah & Jordan sent us lots of photos and messages each day. They were also flexible when we were delayed by an hour. It feels as though Woody has had a holiday and has been so well cared for! We would definitely recommend Hannah & Jordan.”

“It Nora's first time not being with family. Anie was so welcoming and patient with her. She sent lots of photos of their day together which was so reassuring. I am definitely rebooking and would highly recommend.”

“Bella went for a 4 day holiday to Nicola and Jake's house and she had an amazing time with lots of lovely walks! We received updates throughout the day as well as pictures and videos. We felt so relaxed on our holiday knowing Bella was being taken good care of. It's hard to trust others with your pet but Nicola and Jake made it very easy to. Highly highly recommend!”

“Sophie was amazing with my 2 dogs. One suffers with bad separation anxiety. I got updates daily and both boys loved their time with Sophie and Spencer. She was attentive, understanding and I managed to feel safe knowing they were with her. She definitely helped my anxious dog come out of his shell a lot more, so will definitely book with her again.”

“Having already met Liza and Mike for a walk and visited their house, Liza had Henry for the first time last weekend and he clearly had a great time! He went on some lovely walks and was very well looked after. Liza kept us supplied with photos which was very reassuring. All Henry's 'stuff' was packed and ready for collection and he was completely at home with Liza and her family. We have already booked Liza again and plan to use Liza as our main dog carer for future holidays.”

“Thank you so much Bridget! This is a wonderful woman who knows her business. I really liked Bridget's approach to the dog. she did everything possible to make the dog's stay less stressful and more comfortable. several times a day I received photos and videos of my dog. I recommend!”

“This was Bobbies second stay with Stacey, also her longest stay with anyone. As soon as we dropped Bobbie off she went to Stacey, it was so reassuring to see that your dog is very comfortable with someone other than family. Once again Stacey took amazing care of Bobbie, we received lovely photos & videos throughout her stay to reassure us. You could see that Bobbie had settled well & was having a wonderful time. Not only did Stacey & her family treat Bobbie like their own dog, but they also even bought her a gift of some lovely toys for her to take home, so kind and completely unexpected. We will definitely be booking with Stacey and her family again; we are completely reassured that Bobbie has a lovely time while away & is as well cared for as we could wish for. We cannot recommend Stacey highly enough - Thank you”

“I honestly cannot recommend Millie and Sam enough!! Morris stayed with them for the weekend and I felt completely at ease the whole time. They kept in touch throughout with updates and lovely photos which made me feel so reassured that he was happy and being well looked after. I could tell that they genuinely cared about Morris and he had the best time. Sam even came and picked him up and dropped him back which made everything so easy and stress free for me. They made me feel so comfortable leaving him and I trusted them straight away. Morris came home relaxed and clearly very well cared for. I would 100% recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them again and again. Thank you both so so much!! ❤️🐾”

“I was worried about Winston going away as he rarely goes anywhere. Mark and Fee allowed us to visit first and made me feel far more relaxed and reassured. Winston was more than happy to stay with them and calm and happy when we picked him up. They updated me to let me know he was ok. Highly recommended, thanks Mark”

“Sarah was wonderful with our working Maisie. We had regular updates on where they on walks through out our time away. Maisie was well cared for whilst we were away and hope Sarah will look after Maisie agin. Most importantly Sarah turned up when she said she would and was happy for Maisie to sleep on the bed!”

“Our dog absolutely loved michelle, and michelle sent us photos and videos and updates every day for the two weeks lulu was there, we would put 10 stars if we could. Thank you so much michelle (Lulu didn’t want to come home)”

About: I’ve taken care of friend’s dogs for the last 5 years. Our amazing boxer dog died in March and we really miss having a dog around the house- so would be honoured to look after yours. I am on maternity leave until the end of 2026 so can provide lots of care for your dogs as I am at home a lot. Looking forward to connecting ❤️ I’m on maternity leave until the end of 2026 so have lots of flexibility to fit around your pet and am at home a lot of the time. I have a fenced garden and am close to lots of lovely parks for nice walks. In the afternoons and weekends we enjoy walking near the sea. Dogs are welcome on our sofa, in our bedroom and anywhere they want 😊

About: I am a professional lady who works for the NHS and am a huge dog lover of all types and sizes. I have looked after dogs for over 20 years now. They have full run of the house and are welcome on all furniture. My flexible working hours allow me to mostly work at home - ensuring dogs get the attention, love and lots of walks. My work is very flexible and I mostly work from home. Pets come first in this household-making sure they are cared for, loved and most importantly have lots of lovely dog walks. Our firm favourite is Plymbridge Woods. I have a safe and secure small garden, a dog flap if needed. They have the full run of my house and I only ever have one dog boarding to ensure your pooch gets the love and attention they need.
About: I currently own a 14 year old male Chihuahua named Milo. Myself and my boyfriend live in a home near central park but also have a lovely secure garden. In November 2025, alongside working full time I have been providing dog/house sitting for a 13 year old Pekingese, 2 guinea pigs and chicken where I offer a high level of care, administer oral medicine and take care of eye treatment and I understand the importance of patience, routine, and attentive care — especially with senior dogs. I have really taken to enjoying looking after someone else's pets so I registered as self employed and have decided to pick up some Rover clients too! I have experience with owning my own dog, a rabbit when I was around 11, plus my grandparents had sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, and all manner of farm animals which I was happily involved in from a young age! My work schedule varies as I currently work full-time, with typical shifts falling between Monday–Saturday (8:30am–5:30pm) and Sunday (10am–4pm). However, I’m always happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs and come to an arrangement that works best for them. Whether your pet is comfortable with shorter periods alone or requires more companionship, walks, medication, or check-ins throughout the day, I’ll always be transparent about my availability and ensure they receive the care, attention, and routine they need to feel happy and secure. My home provides a safe, clean, calm, and loving environment for your pet while they’re in my care. I live in a house with a fully enclosed and secure garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to enjoy. I will be the sole caregiver for your pet, allowing me to provide consistent attention, supervision, and routine throughout their stay. I’m experienced and comfortable caring for dogs with additional needs, including administering medication and following specific dietary requirements or schedules. Having a senior dog myself, I understand how important patience, gentle handling, and maintaining familiar routines can be. My Chihuahua, Milo, is very friendly and still enjoys his daily walks — whether that’s a shorter 20-minute stroll around the block or longer 50–60 minute walks around the Central Park loop, depending on your dog’s energy levels and needs. Your dog’s comfort and safety will always come first, which is why I strongly recommend a meet & greet before any initial booking. This helps ensure everyone gets along well and gives you complete confidence that your pet will feel happy, secure, and relaxed during their stay.
“I chose Sophie and Nick based on their combined excellent reviews and experience on Rover. I wasn’t able to meet them personally before the booking but they were very happy to atramge a video call and talk through all my queries and concerns before we booked. My two miniature dachshunds can be anxious and difficult and need patient and kind care. Sophie and Nick were amazing. The greatest recommendation is that my dogs were calm and very happy when I collected them. Stella who is particularly anxious was loving and affectionate with both Sophie and Nick as we left so I know they have been cared for impeccably. We received daily updates and Sophie always responded immediately when I contacted her. I would highly recommend this couple and would not hesitate to trust them with my beloved dogs in future. Thank you both for taking care of my precious dachshunds so lovingly.”

Hannah & Jordan were a fantastic help for us. They did amazing with our collie, Oakley. We were concerned about leaving him as he is a rescue and he is very close to our family. But Hannah & Jordan looked after him very well. We received regular updates which was great to see. And our dog came back happy. Thank you
Sam and Milly looked after my two girls for two days while we were on the Rame peninsular and I can highly recommend. Sam is an excellent communicator, responds very quickly and kept me updated so that I had no concerns whatsoever. Both dogs are completely different in size, age and needs but they were both very settled and happy. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Sam in the future if I'm looking for dog care in Plymouth

Morgan helped us out last minute with our 8 month old puppy. He has had the best time! She sent some lovely photos, gave him a proper little holiday, popped on some relaxing sounds to settle him at night. Woody was really well taken care of and has come back knackered and happy all of which has made leaving him for the first time so much more stress free! Lovely home and partner, great environment for a puppy, great communication and really accommodating - couldn’t ask for more. Thoroughly recommend!!

Amber is a fantastic pet sitter. She was great with Minnie giving updates and photos throughout Minnie’s stay. She’s very confident and caring and very responsive to messages etc. I would not hesitate to use her again and can definitely recommend her to anyone wanting a dog sitter.
Both of them absolutely amazing. Took care of our Willow, was communicative, sent pictures, highly responsive and genuinley lovely. It's my first time using rover so I was anxious leaving our puppy but they put every worry at ease. If I could give more stars I would!

Sara is a wonderful dogsitter. I highly recommend her. What a joy it's been to meet Sara and have our beloved Winnie be cared for so well. Sara is an excellent communicater. Extremely prompt replies and regular updates with messages, which is an excellent quality. Thank you Sara. We have truely valued your time. Thanks for looking after our girl. Blessings you!

Indie always has a fab time with Naomi. She really takes care of Indie as if she were her own dog. Indie loves going to visit and gets excited when we pull up outside the house! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is feeling nervous about leaving their dog. She really puts your mind at rest with all the picture updates.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t recommend Julia highly enough! ❤️ Hildi felt completely at home during her stay, and it was obvious she was loved, well cared for, and treated like part of the family. Knowing she was in such wonderful hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I was especially grateful that Julia was able to help me out at such short notice. I urgently needed boarding because of an important family event abroad, and she went above and beyond to accommodate us. That meant the world to me. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter or boarding experience. If you want to be absolutely certain that your dog is in the best possible hands while you’re away, I can wholeheartedly recommend Julia. She genuinely cares for every dog as if they were her own. Thank you so much for everything! I really hope Hildi will be able to come back and stay with you again. 🐾❤️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
