Pet care experience

Remote worker ready to pamper your pets!

As a remote worker based in Turnchapel (Plymstock), your pets will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day – no long stretches home alone here. I live with my housemate Bryony (35), a district nurse who also works part-time from home and is a huge dog lover, so between the two of us your pup will have lots of care, cuddles and company. Over the past 9 months, I’ve looked after a wide range of wonderful animals, including: • A little 11-year-old Jack Russell called Beano • Two 5-year-old Cockerpoos (a girl and a boy – total Velcro dogs, which worked perfectly as I work from home!) • Two Collies • A Colliepoo cross • A large rescue dog (breed unknown but big personality!) • A sausage dog • Even a horse and chickens! I have plenty of 5-star reviews from another app that I’m more than happy to share for reassurance. I grew up with my beloved Jack Russell Lakeland Terrier cross, Twixi, who lived to 15. I raised her from a puppy and did all her training myself, so I’m confident with everything from basic commands to managing high-energy breeds and keeping routines consistent. I absolutely love long walks, so your pup will be well exercised and mentally stimulated — and living in such a beautiful part of Plymouth means we’re spoilt for scenic routes. I particularly enjoy walking dogs who are comfortable off the lead, as it allows them to have more freedom, exercise and natural interaction, and they’re often more relaxed when meeting other dogs. That said, I’m completely happy to keep dogs on the lead where needed and always follow your preferences. Whether your dog prefers cosy sofa time, structured walks, playtime, or sticking closely to their usual routine, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. If they enjoy the outdoors, they may even join me for the occasional camping trip (with your permission, of course!). Above all, I know how important it is to feel completely at ease when leaving your pet with someone. You can trust that they’ll be safe, loved, and very well looked after with us. 🐾💛

Indie always has a fab time with Naomi. She really takes care of Indie as if she were her own dog. Indie loves going to visit and gets excited when we pull up outside the house! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is feeling nervous about leaving their dog. She really puts your mind at rest with all the picture updates.

My dog has had a great stay with Naomi for a long weekend. Naomi made sure to send me updates and pictures. She had a lovely home with perfect location for nice walks. I'll happily leave my dog with Naomi again.

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into my routine as I work remotely and structure my days flexibly. Walks, feeding, enrichment and downtime are built around the dogs I’m caring for, so they’re never an afterthought — they’re part of the day. There’s usually someone home, so dogs aren’t left for long stretches, and I plan my schedule to suit their needs. We’ll head out for daily walks in the local area, adjusting pace and length depending on energy levels and routine. If your dog enjoys off-lead time and is well-socialised, we can incorporate that. If they prefer lead walks or quieter routes, I’m very happy to stick to what works best for them.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog will be cared for in a safe, calm and welcoming home environment. I keep my space clean, secure and uncluttered, and I’m mindful about doors, gates and general safety at all times. Before any stay, I’ll chat through your dog’s routine, habits, quirks and preferences so I can keep things as consistent as possible. Whether that’s feeding times, sleeping arrangements, medication, or favourite walking routes, I aim to make their stay feel familiar and low-stress. I introduce new environments gradually, keep a close eye on behaviour and energy levels, and never leave dogs unsupervised in situations that don’t feel appropriate. If they’re staying with me, they’ll be treated as part of the household — with plenty of company, attention and reassurance. You can relax knowing your dog will be safe, cared for and genuinely looked after as if they were my own.

A typical day

A typical day is shaped around the dog and their usual routine. We’ll normally start with a short morning walk to stretch the legs and get some fresh air, then either a longer lunchtime walk or a longer evening walk — depending on their energy levels and what they’re used to. Because I work from home, walks tend to happen before I start work, at lunchtime, or in the evening, so they’re nicely spaced through the day. In between, there’s plenty of companionship. Every tea break usually turns into a quick cuddle or a bit of playtime, and they’re free to relax nearby while I work. If they prefer a slower start and like a lie-in, I’m more than happy to let them snooze and settle back into bed after breakfast. It’s a calm, balanced day with a mix of exercise, enrichment and lots of affection — tailored to what suits them best. 🐾

To make sure your dog has the smoothest, happiest experience possible, it’s really helpful for me to understand a few things in advance: • Are they on any medication or do they have any health conditions I should be aware of? • Are they comfortable walking off the lead? • How are they with other dogs and children? • Can they be left alone for short periods if needed? (They won’t be left for long stretches — I just like to plan my schedule responsibly.) • Where do they usually sleep? I’m best suited to dogs who are generally well-socialised, comfortable in a home environment, and able to settle when needed. If your dog has specific behavioural needs, anxieties or triggers, I’m always happy to discuss them openly beforehand to make sure it’s the right fit for everyone. The more I know about their routine, preferences and personality, the better I can make their stay feel familiar, safe and relaxed.
