About: My wife and I have always had pets and have been around animals since a very young age. Together we have had a Dalmatian who lived an amazing 14.5 years, meaning we have experience in tending to senior dogs. We now have an energetic Fox Red Labrador and 2 affectionate cats. We absolutely love animals and will always go out of our way to make sure that they are happy, loved, safe, and well-fed. We're very patient and gentle and understand that every pet is different. My wife and I work from home fulltime so will always be around to spend time with your pet(s). We tend to walk our dog Nancy early in the morning during the week, either through the fields or at the beach. At the weekend we often try to find new places to explore, making sure to avoid the hottest parts of the day. We have a fenced back garden and live in a nice quiet area on the outskirts of Williton, facing fields with horses and passing steam trains in the distance. We have a very friendly dog who loves the company of other dogs and is great at sharing her treats and toys. We have a hose and paddling pool in the garden to help them keep cool in the hotter weather. We also have 2 very easy going cats who come and go as they please. We can have safety gates in place if required, but we would ask that you only book with us if your dog is happy to be around cats. We want your pet to be as happy and comfortable as possible during their stay with us, so please let us know if they have any particular requirements.

Paddy can get overexcited on meeting new people and had not boarded away from home or stayed with another dog before so we were uncertain how he would react. We needn’t have worried. Shelagh and Pete are very animal aware and felt he’d settle into his new routine. He had an initial two day visit, spent a lovely time running free in the enclosed field, and we returned to collect him finding the two dogs perfectly happy wandering around together. A real success - we instantly booked Paddy for a week’s stay so we could go away on holiday on our own. Very pleased and grateful for Shelagh & Pete’s care.”

“From the meet and greet, it was clear that Helen is a sensible, down-to-earth person who genuinely cares about the dogs in her care. The meeting was relaxed and unhurried, giving Shadow plenty of time to get to know Luna and the other dog staying at the time, as well as allowing plenty of opportunity for questions from both sides. The pre-stay forms were reassuringly thorough, covering all the information Helen would need to ensure Shadow’s needs were fully met. On the day of Shadow’s stay, Helen kept me regularly updated, and it was clear he was having a wonderful time — not only playing with the other dogs, but also, importantly, feeling comfortable enough to relax. It was a very hot day, and Helen did a great job of striking the right balance between giving the dogs enough exercise and keeping them cool. The set-up is fantastic, with plenty of safe indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to roam and relax. 10/10 — I will definitely be booking again!”

About: I have grown up taking care of animals and have a wide variety of experience. Personally, I have always owned cats and have been taking care of my neighbour's dogs for the past 11 years. Professionally, I have just completed my veterinary training at the University of Liverpool and have spent the last 5 years learning to care for animals and putting this in practice on placements (both in and out of clinical settings). As a minimum, we complete 38 weeks of placement outside of our studies and the last year and a half of our degree is spent on rotations in veterinary hospitals. I have been trained in small animals (mainly cats, dogs and rabbits), equine and farm species (mostly cows and sheep) but I am mainly interested in working in a small animal veterinary setting when I enter practice. For now, I am taking a year-long break between my studies and entering full time work. Because of this training, I have a good understanding of animal care and behaviour, am capable of reading animals and their cues, can administer medications and notice if a pet is unwell and of course, have a great deal of love for animals! (Let me know if you would like more details of specific experience, I can happily provide this but is quite a long list) I am currently unemployed as I have just graduated after 5 years at university and have decided to take a year long break before I enter into full time work as a veterinarian, and so I am pretty available! From anxious to over-excitable, I make an effort to understand each animal's temperament and interact with them accordingly which usually means we can get on well! I am more than happy to receive information about a pet's personality and likes / dislikes ahead of meeting them. When taking them out for walks, I am open to suggestions on locations, especially if they have favourite routes and will keep them on the lead unless given specific permission otherwise and in an area I deem safe. I understand it is a lot to let a new person care for your pets and enter your home so I am happy to meet (if local and schedules permit) or at very least call with you before starting and keep you updated via phone if you are away so that you have peace of mind. “Paddy had the most wonderful time. Shelagh and Pete gave him the best holiday - lots of cuddles and plenty of fun running in their field with their dog Spike. We couldn’t have asked for more. When we picked him up he seemed completely at home so we wouldn’t hesitate to book him in for another stay. Very grateful for all of Shelagh’s care and attention.”

“I left Bear with Murad and his wife for the night, it was the first time he’d boarded in a different house but, by the photos I received, he settled straight away! He was thoroughly spoilt during his stay and I was provided with photos and videos of his sleep over. He has been snoozing all day since I picked him up!! Suffice to say he thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely be using Murad again☺️”

“Macy took such good care of our little chap I think he misses her. The whole family were welcoming and some enjoyed walks and playtime too. This is obviously a dog loving household. Communication was great and we had lots of pictures and videos clearly showing a very smiley and happy dog. If there was anything that Macy was unsure of she contacted us directly which we appreciated. We would not hesitate to ask Macy to care for our very energetic little terrier again as we know he had an amazing time. Thank you Macy for looking after him as if he were your own.”
“Helen was fab with my dog Dora and I didn’t have to worry about her at all while we were away. We got regular updates with photos and Dora was kept busy and happy. Dora is on a couple of medications and these were all administered with no problem. Would definitely book again and highly recommend.”
“Dom is a ray of sunshine and her love for dogs just absolutely shines out of her from the moment you meet her. We left our two goldens with Dom for a week and just know they had the absolute best time (which always helps with the feelings of guilt when you leave your babies!) Dom takes care of your dogs as if they’re her own - even had them sleeping in her bed! Constant communication and updates, with pics and videos. Will 100% be asking Dom to look after them again - home a few hours and I think they’re missing her!! Thanks so much ♥️♥️”
“We decided to book Ewa's home boarding services quite last minute when our original plans fell through. We were quite apprehensive at first, as we were worried our 1 year old schnauzer would be too much to handle and wouldn't settle with Ewa and Patrick's dog JJ. The whole time we were away on holiday Ewa kept us updated on Cole with lots of pictures, videos and messages on what he was up to and how he was during the day. The frequency of communication between us really put us at ease as we hadn't done anything like this before. We were really pleased to know that our dog Cole was so well behaved and seemed to have a lovely time on his own little holiday. I would definitely recommend Ewa's services to anyone, she is very professional and a lovely person who you'd be happy to leave your pets with. I would book Ewa's services again anytime in the future if her and Patrick are avaliable. Thank you for everything!”

“Leon spent a full week with Bronte, Sam and their fab dog Teo! Leon was made to feel part of the family and was clearly very comfortable sprawled out on the sofa for cuddles! Plenty of exercise each day and sent regular photos and updates. Bronte was also very helpful when I had to pick him up slightly later. Highly recommended and I’d definitely use again!”

“Adell was amazing with our Labradoodle Betty. She has a lovely little dog herself, Edgar, and Betty really enjoyed her weekend with a little friend! Adell was brilliant with communicating with us- giving us daily updates every few hours and took Betty on some amazing walks! Some of the photos she captured of Betty on her adventures with Adell are now printed and up in the house 😍 Betty soon had another snuggle buddy after long walks and was always happy in the photos Adell sent us!
