It had been quite a while since I’d had to go through the process of meeting a new sitter and while Toby is very chilled about where he goes and with whom, I always get anxious about leaving him somewhere new. However when I drove up to Helen’s beautiful and calm home my mind was put at rest. Helen is lovely and obviously adores dogs. She had thought of everything needed in the very hot weather, there was a fan, a paddling pool and walks only when it was safe. Her husband and other family members are also delightful and dog focused. She sent us lots of photos of Toby having a great time with another dog who was also staying. About: I’ve had both cats and dogs since the age of 7, I’ve always been an animal lover. I regularly take care of relatives and friends pets and have been trusted to do so from about the age of 10. My own dog, Kaya, is a sweet-hearted nine year old collie x whippet who's recently joined the family. She's a sensitive soul and, like Hector, suffers with separation anxiety. As such, I understand entirely how important consistency and comfort are for anxious dogs like them. I spend much of my week working from home, so I have plenty of time to offer care and companionship to pets who need company whilst their humans are busy. I believe in showing all our canine companions calm and consistent company, whether during an enriching walk, a quiet cuddle or just a lunchtime check-in for food and water.

About: I have had pets growing up and 14 years experience with dogs. Our dog was a very playful and excited puppy, he grew to be a very large dog so I am experienced with all sizes. I have experience with senior dogs and understand how different it is taking them for a walk compared to a younger dog with lots of energy. I currently work part time so have lots of spare time for walking and looking after dogs. This is the first period of time we haven’t had a pet in 14 years so I have all the time for other dogs now. Over the last few years I’ve also walked my friends dogs when they’ve been away and family dogs when they haven’t been able to.
