I have been a dog owner for the last 7 years and a cat owner all my life. I therefore appreciate the needs, walks, love, care and attention our furry friends need I lead a very active life style and am always out walking with our pooch. I have a 7yr old, female, German Shepherd who I’ve had since she was a puppy. My GSD has been through all the training regimes - puppy classes, beginner, intermediate and advanced courses (I am by no means a dog trainer though). My GSD has also undertaken some agility classes & loves nothing more than showing off her party tricks, from spin, twist and kiss to playing dead. Owning a breed such as a GSD has taught me a lot about the demands a dog needs, whether that be exercise, socialisation, mental stimulation etc. I have a love for all breeds regardless of their size and have regular contact with my friends dogs, ranging from sausage dogs, cavapoos, springer spaniels to border collies and I often look after them when my friends go away 🏨 I understand work commitments and social events can sometimes get in the way of exercising our dogs so I am happy to help anyone in need....plus I enjoy it and it keeps me active ☺️ Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer boarding on a regular basis, however I do have some of my regulars come and stay with me. If this is something you’d be interested in booking, please feel free to reach out and I will consider (well-behaved dogs only). I also owned a cat (Molly) for 15 years but sadly lost her in 2022 due to a tumour. Cats have always been a family pet so I grew up with and around them, right from when I was 4 months old. I therefore have a lot of experience with our feline friends and am more than happy to pop in to feed your cat, provide fresh water, empty any litter trays, give them a cwtch or play with any toys that they enjoy 🐈🐈⬛

Melanie looked after my cat Benekli whilst me and my son went on holiday and I could not be happier with how wonderfully she looked after him! Melanie sent so many pictures of Benny which really put my mind at ease and sent thorough updates each time she visited. It was a pleasure to read the updates and I felt 100% happy and relaxed because of the amazing care she gave my cat. Would absolutely recommend!!!

We cant thank Mel enough for looking after our two cats. A worry free break was what we needed and knowing the fur babies were in her capable hands got us that. This is the 2nd time Mel has done drop in visits and the cats are so relaxed and happy in her company. I would thoroughly recommended Mel and oh my word does she take incredible photos for her kitty updates!!!

Schedule
I currently work full time from Monday - Friday (home working at the moment) but I have the benefit of flexi time. I can therefore tailor walking, feeding or visiting times to suit both you and your pet, e.g. mornings, lunchtimes, evenings and weekends.

I understand that it can be worrying leaving your fur baby with someone new so I’m more than happy to provide photos and videos of your pet/s whilst they are in my care, either through the Rover app or directly through what’s app. I am fully vaccinated against Covid-19 but more than happy to wear a face mask during home visits if required. If you think I would be a good match for your pup or kitty cat or if you have any questions, please let me know ☺️
Pets
A typical day
Dogs not only need physical exercise but they also require mental stimulation. Your dog and I can go for nice walks where your dogs can sniff and read their newsfeed or we can play with their favourite toys or practice any tricks they have learnt and/or are learning. If there is anything in particular your dog loves to do, just let me know. If you require drop in visits for your cat, I can offer this also, along with a variety of other pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters to name a few.
