About: Hi, I’m Karolina! If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pet as if they were my own, I’d love to help. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve owned both a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix and a Miniature Pinscher mix, so I understand that every dog is unique, whether they’re a gentle giant, a little bundle of personality, or somewhere in between. I also worked in an animal shelter, where I cared for animals of all breeds, sizes and temperaments. My role included walking, feeding and transporting animals, caring for dogs recovering from surgery, helping new arrivals settle in and providing day-to-day care. Some dogs were full of confidence, while others were nervous, reactive or very high-energy and needed more patience, space and understanding. That experience taught me how important it is to adapt to each animal rather than expecting every dog to behave in the same way. I’m comfortable caring for reactive and high-energy dogs and understand that certain situations — such as meeting other dogs, runners, cyclists or being somewhere busy — can be challenging for them. I’m happy to follow the routines, boundaries and training methods you already use, and I’ll always work at your dog’s pace rather than putting them into situations they’re uncomfortable with. Alongside this, I’ve looked after dogs through BorrowMyDoggy and spent three years living with and helping care for a Cocker Spaniel and a Westie. Caring for animals has never felt like a job to me — it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet with someone else. That’s why I’ll take the time to learn their routine, get to know their personality and make sure they feel safe, happy and loved while you’re away. Whether they need long walks and lots of activity, a little extra patience, or simply someone to curl up with on the sofa, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. “Willow had a lovely time with Beth and Dan and their red fox lab Darcy. Willow is a very bouncy 5 month old working cocker spaniel and I was concerned she would be too annoying. However, it seems that Darcy and Willow had a lovely time playing and the photos and videos they sent showed willow looking quite calm at times which is rare! Beth and Dan have had lots of experience with many breeds of dogs and put my mind at ease when we visited for a meet and greet. I would happily have Willow stay with them again as I know she’d have a great time.”
