“Georgina and her family provided a first class home stay for Jet, our border collie, with regular updates and pictures of him having fun, leaving us worry free for the weekend of our daughter's wedding. They went above and beyond, and we would give them 10 stars if we could.”

“Kristen was excellent, George very much enjoyed staying with her and the family of dogs and cats. Loads of photos updates everyday and updates on George. Defiantly booking with Kristen again for our next holiday! Thanks Kristen”

“She is a special person, my dog was very well taken care of, she is a very responsible and caring person, both she and her partner are very pleasant people, very sociable and friendly, I always received information about the dog, pictures and videos, I am very happy to have met her and I will use her again whenever I need to. THANK YOU”

“Mark and Helen looked after Simba as if he were their own dog. We were so happy knowing Simba was being so cared for in every way while we were on holiday. We can't recommend them high enough, we met with Mark and Helen before Simba's stay any worries we had about taking him to stay there were gone completely after chatting with them. Simba's a 10 year old dog set in his ways everything was accommodated with smiles and like it was completely normal. Anyone leaving their dog with Mark and Helen will be as happy as we were. They were fantastic thankyou so much to you both, such a lovely couple xxx”

“This was the first time Lulu has gone to a dog sitter and Beth and Dan did an amazing job with her. She had a lovely long weekend with them and had good walks and fuss. We are so pleased with the service provided.”

“Rachael was great with Chester. He absolutely loved being there. When he was picked up, he was very happy and tired and slept for hours when back at home I could tell had a fun time. I will definitely be using Rachael again. Highly recommended.”

“Ella is AMAZING. It was our first time leaving our 5 month old collie and we were quite worried about how he would adjust seeing as always had at least one of us around. Ella put our minds at ease straight away. She sent lots of updates and photos throughout each day to show how Sven was getting on and went over and above to make sure that his experiences was as enriching as possible. She even went out of her way to help him overcome his fears of ponies (without us even asking) and teach him some new tricks. We know that Sven can be a handful at times and it sounds like he was somewhat hyper for most of his stay but Ella was very understanding. She's extremely professional and knowledgeable, and gave us lots of great tips that we'll be using on Sven's training going forward. She was also very accommodating when our flight was delayed and we had collect him a bit later than originally agreed. Thank you Ella and Pita!!”

“Tobias and Bruce took very good care of Dixie during her stay. We had a meet and greet a couple of weeks earlier to get to know each other. Tobias obviously cares very much about dogs and is a calm, confident host. Bruce is a lovely little chap, and very friendly. Dixie settled in very quickly, and it looked like she had formed a good bond with Tobias during the stay. Dixie came home very relaxed and I will be booking another stay for her soon.”

About: I had a rescue labrador for 10 years and am now keen to help look after other doggos. I have worked in animal rescue centres and been trained on doggie first aid. I'm very calm and gentle with animals, and will be a responsible care giver for your beloved canine. I work from home half-days on Fridays with flexible hours, and am generally free on weekends. I'm very flexible around timing and happy to work around your pet's needs. We have a fenced-in garden and live on a quiet street just off the canal path and near several great fields and walks. Can provide dog beds and are flexible on whether dogs are allowed on furniture.
“Sarah was amazing with our dog . So comforting knowing that he would be well looked after, with long walks, playtime and cuddles. Sarah kept me updated with photos which was brilliant . He came back very happy ! Would not hesitate to leave him Again with Sarah”

“Thank you to Dominika and Adam who took excellent care of Siya while I was away. I received several photos of her, which is always reassuring, and she was very happy there.”

“Thank you Kay and your lovely family including Monty, for making Ebi's stay so much fun! The regular photos, videos and updates put my mind at ease. I'm sure Ebi will be more than happy to stay again!”

“Daniela was so lovely and warm, Luka was immediately at ease in her home and I was very happy leaving him in her care. She sent me updates and photos and Luka looked super relaxed and happy in them! He came home very reluctantly after clearly having a great time. Would not hesitate to recommend her :)”

“Anna looked after my two dogs a Labrador and a collie x lab for 1 night. Anna was quick to reply to my initial message and arranged a meet and greet. While our dogs were with her she sent lots of pictures and updates and took them on lots of walks. They slept very well once they returned home. I can tell they were very well looked after. Anna was flexible with pick up and drop off and gave me complete peace of mind while my dogs were with her. I will definitely use Anna again in the future.”

“Kell deserves five stars, a medal, and possibly honorary dog status after his week with Cassie. He and his family clearly treated her like one of their own — she came back happy, well-fed, and with the unmistakable air of a dog who’s been on a better holiday than her owner. Plenty of walks, lots of care, and (judging by her contented expression) zero complaints from the guest of honour. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure she wanted to come home. Would absolutely trust Kell again — though I suspect Cassie may try to rebook herself first.”

I have left my dog Fred with Tobias on two occasions now, both for multiple overnight stays. Fred was very relaxed with him and was even happy and excited to see him again on his second stay! Tobias has a great calm and level demeanour with dogs which I think they appreciate. Fred was allowed to completely make himself at home and seemed to have a great time with Tobias. We got some regular updates with photos as requested. Very happy and will definitely be happy to send Fred to stay again in the future! Thank you!!

Charlie and Milly had the absolute best of care and love from Georgina and family - with amazing extra thought given during the heat wave (including. frozen treats and ice packs in their bed). We got photos and updates throughout the stay so we knew and saw how happy, settled and looked after they were. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Michael and his lovely wife were wonderful, to the point my dog, Mabel, didn't want to leave! She was very at home with their lovely dog also, in fact they were quite similar and got on really well, so that was an extra bonus. Nothing was too much trouble and I got regular photo updates. I felt very relaxed knowing Mabel was being very well cared for while we were on holiday. It was definitely a home away from home environment, which is exactly what I was after. I would absolutely recommend!

She is a special person, my dog was very well taken care of, she is a very responsible and caring person, both she and her partner are very pleasant people, very sociable and friendly, I always received information about the dog, pictures and videos, I am very happy to have met her and I will use her again whenever I need to. THANK YOU

Daisy as always had a fantastic time with Estefania! Estefania sent lots of pictures and it was so clear that Daisy enjoyed her time there. Estefania was extremely communicative and prompt, making it really easy to set everything up. Could not recommend her more!
So happy we found Billie to look after Yoshi whilst we were away. She was more than happy to meet me and Yoshi before hand so we could get to know eachother and sent regular updates to show he was relaxed and having fun with his play mates. She is so knowledgable and kind and clearly has a passion for animals. Thank you so much, we will definitely use Billie again.

I was really nervous leaving June with someone whilst I was away, but Daisy was amazing. She kept me up to date with how June was doing and it was evident June had a lovely time and had bonded well with Daisy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an adaptable, reliable and communicative sitter for your dog.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
