Leah’s lovely. I felt happy Scout was safe in her care, her house and surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Scout has a few special needs because of his sight disability and Leah took all of this on board, and I could tell he instantly felt settled in her space. I highly recommend her.

Julie is amazing! Welcomed our severely anxious puppy into her home - and he was really happy. She is kind, gentle and patient - and you can tell how much she loves the dogs in her care. Nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciated everything she did. Thank you x

Our dog Heddwyn is typical of a cockapoo who follows his mum everywhere. We wondered how he would react to being left with someone he did not know. He was taken for a walk after we left him and all was fine. We were sent some photos of the walk and once back at Debbie’s house. Heddwyn had clearly settled well. We will be absolutely happy for Debbie to look after Heddwyn again.

From first meeting both Susan and Stephen my mind was put at ease. Both are considerate and listened to understand Terry’s do's and dont's to make the stay a pleasurable for everyone. Kept me updated and provided photos throughout. Terry returned a very happy dog with his tail wagging, which says it all. Thank you both for being so accommodating and understanding to Terry's "pawticular" requirements. It is evident you're dog lovers and Terry is looking forward to his next stay with you 😀

About: We lost our beloved cocker spaniel earlier this year. Abi was 13.5 years old and we had her since she was a puppy…so we have experienced all the stages from high energy puppy to the later stages of patience, peace and quiet including giving the necessary oral/topical medication. Both of us grew up in households full of pets as well, so dogs have always been a part of our lives. We've also loved dog sitting for friends. We are not ready to adopt another dog yet but we miss their company very much and we would love to look after your dog. We are a couple in our mid-50s, who both work part-time from home (we are self-employed, so don’t tend to work to a schedule), which means we have the flexibility to work around the needs of your dog. We understand that different pets/owners have different requirements and are always ready to be flexible – following usual routines for walks / feeding / play time. We have a fully fenced garden where dogs can safely play and relax. We provide a home-from-home experience, allowing all dogs full access to our house so they can relax wherever they feel most comfortable (as per your instructions). If your dog prefers a crate, we have room for you to bring your own crate to give them their own cosy retreat.

Baloo and Misha had a lovely time and were well looked after. They’re not the easiest dogs, but Peter handled them really well and was calm, friendly, and helpful throughout (even helping me adjust the booking so I wasn’t overcharged). He has a great setup in a lovely part of the world. Would recommend to anyone!

About: Hi, I’m 25 and live in my own home with my boyfriend Jack and our Dutch Shepherd, Jett, who is a huge part of our lives and truly our pride and joy. I work from home full-time, which means I’m able to provide plenty of attention, supervision and companionship throughout the day. I offer dog sitting and doggy daycare in my home, dog walking and drop-in visits, giving you flexible options depending on what your dog needs. I don’t currently offer overnight boarding, as I feel many dogs are more comfortable and settled either spending the day with me or staying in their own familiar home overnight. My boyfriend has experience with obedience training, and together we’ve put a lot of time and effort into training Jett, including working on his reactivity and teaching him a variety of commands and tricks. This has given us a good understanding of the importance of patience, consistency and positive training when caring for dogs. I’ve also grown up around dogs, including a Beagle, American Bulldog and Cocker Spaniel, so I’m familiar with different breeds, personalities and the different ways dogs can behave. I’ve also cared for family and friends’ dogs, taken them for walks and looked after them when needed. Having Jett of our own has given me even more hands-on experience and taught me how important it is to understand each dog as an individual. Having recently looked for a dog sitter ourselves, I know how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust with your dog. I understand that every dog has their own routine, personality and needs, and I’ll always do my best to keep things consistent and make them feel comfortable and settled. Whether your dog needs some company while you’re at work, a good walk, a drop-in visit or somewhere to spend the day, I aim to provide a calm, safe and loving environment where they’ll receive plenty of attention and care. Your dog will be treated as one of the family, with their wellbeing, comfort and happiness always being my priority. Most importantly, I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in safe, caring and trustworthy hands. At home, we follow a structured but relaxed routine, and dogs staying with us for daycare can easily fit into our day. Our mornings start early, with my boyfriend getting up at around 5:30am and letting Jett out for a toilet break, followed by his morning walk around 30 minutes later. Once we’re back home, Jett has his breakfast and settles into a calm morning routine with me while I work from home. As I work from home every day, dogs in our care are never left alone and will have plenty of company, attention and supervision throughout the day. They’re welcome to relax with me while I work, have cuddles, play with toys or simply settle down for a nap. We have a calm home environment and are happy to follow each dog’s usual routine as closely as possible. Jett is a very affectionate dog who loves being around us and enjoys cuddles, playtime and relaxing at home. He has plenty of toys and enjoys interactive play throughout the day. Due to Jett being an active breed, we have a good amount of exercise built into our routine, including a mid-day walk and a longer evening walk. However, we always take each dog’s individual age, breed, energy levels and needs into consideration rather than expecting every dog to follow Jett’s routine. We’re also happy to accommodate your dog’s usual feeding, toilet and walking schedule wherever possible, so they can enjoy a familiar routine while they’re with us. At weekends, we enjoy exploring local woods, hills and other dog-friendly places, as well as spending relaxed time at home and in the garden. We can also provide dog walking and drop-in visits if your dog would be happier staying in their own home. Our aim is to make every dog feel comfortable, safe and included, whether they’re spending the day with us or we’re visiting them in their own home. Every dog is treated as an individual, with plenty of love, attention and care throughout their time with us. As mentioned, I work from home full-time, so dogs in my care are never left alone for long periods and receive plenty of supervision, attention and companionship throughout the day. I understand that every dog is different, so I always aim to follow each dog’s individual routine as closely as possible. This includes their usual feeding times, toilet breaks, walks, rest periods and any training or behavioural needs. I believe consistency is really important in helping dogs feel comfortable and settled, particularly when they are spending time away from their owners. For dogs attending daycare or being cared for in my home, there is a safe and relaxed environment where they can rest, play, have cuddles and receive plenty of interaction throughout the day. I’m happy to provide toys and enrichment suited to each dog, while also making sure they have quiet time when they need it. Our own dog, Jett, is used to being around other dogs, but I understand that every dog has a different personality and comfort level. Any introductions are handled carefully and gradually, with the dogs’ individual needs and safety always coming first. Walks are tailored to each dog’s age, breed, energy levels and ability. This could be a shorter local walk, a longer outing or simply some play and mental stimulation at home, depending on what is most appropriate for them. I also offer dog walking and drop-in visits, so if your dog is more comfortable staying in their own home, I can provide care in their familiar environment instead. My aim is to provide reliable, caring and personalised support, whether your dog is spending the day with me, going out for a walk or receiving a visit at home. I want every owner to have complete peace of mind knowing their dog is being treated with the same care and attention I would want for Jett.

About: I've always owned a dog until recently but unfortunately I don't have a dog of my own at the moment. I have experience with a range of dog breeds having owned and dog sat: lurchers, poodle crosses, Rhodesian ridge backs, Labradors, rottweilers and mutts. No children or other dogs in the home. I regularly dog sit for friends and family. I have a large garden which is around an acre completely fenced. I work from home so I'm able to take dogs on regular walks. I work from home so always looking for company and an excuse to go on walks round the river! I travel internationally occasionally for work so I can't own my own dog but otherwise available 7 days a week I have a fully fenced 1 acre garden and no other dogs in the home. Lots of space in the house and I have a dog crate if preferred

About: I used to own a cat for most of my life and helped take care of him, now I regularly take care of my friend’s two dogs and another friend’s cat which has a dietary requirement when she goes away on holiday. I’m home from uni and so I have more than plenty of time to spend some quality time with your pets. I work part-time (usually three 5/6-hour shifts a week) and that is the most amount of time I’d be out at once. I have a spacious environment and a fenced backyard in a neighbourhood full of super friendly dogs and cats, and my house is ready to accommodate any needs for your pets.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Malvern Hills commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
