“Alberto was awesome from start to finish. He gave Lola so much love and affection and really really spoiled her. Communication was exceptional and kept us informed on all aspects of her stay with many messages and photos. He was so warm and friendly and a genuinely wonderful person. Lola was so happy and loved her time with Alberto and his family”

“Bonnie had a most wonderful day. It was her first time here and Kate was amazing. She let Bonnie snuggle with her, gave her ( approved ) treats. I felt so happy that Bonnie was being cared for in the way I would. Thank you 🤩 💕”

About: Unfortunately i lost my best mate Bodie (Cockapoo) at the start of the year, and although I’m not quite ready yet for another dog permanently i miss the walks, fun and day to day energy having dogs in the home brings. I’m off or working from home for most of the summer (and beyond) so have great availability and flexibility. I am up from 7am and active going for bike rides, walks and trips to the park. Pick ups and drop offs can be flexible, we are in Witney Town centre. We have recently moved to the area, so having fun exploring different trails, cafes, walks and countryside near by. I have a large fenced garden with easy access for dogs to run in and out of from the back of the house. It’s 5 minutes walk from the large local park with lots of space for a run!
“Truly fantastic with Bailey, not sure he wanted to leave after 8 hours with Dale and Kerry. Made us all feel warm and welcome as soon as we arrived right until the moment we picked him up. Thank you both, can’t wait for Bailey to spend more time with you”

“Emma was really fast to respond to our request and so flexible. This was the first time we'd left our puppy for more than an hour or two so it was great to have the updates and reassurance. Ralph is looking forward to the next visit!”

“Our Daisy had a wonderful time with Alex and the other dogs in his house. It was the 2nd time he took care of her for the day and I am very happy to have found someone like Alex to take good care of her when I need to be away on business.”

“Heidi has had an incredible day with Victoria. Victoria has been absolutely amazing. From the initial meet to drop off and pick up. Nothing has been too much trouble. She sent pictures of Heidis day (which was amazing for a nervous mum) and Heidi was completely relaxed and happy at pick up. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you”

About: I have always loved to be around animals and so I have always been on hand to take care of my friends, neighbours or acquaintances fur babies and so I've been house and dog sitting for approx 13 years for friends and family. I am insured! I work from home full time, so I am able to be on hand all day long! My own dog splits time between being with me in my office and in her own bed, but we always make time for a lunch time walk I have a secure, fenced garden and my house is offset from any major roads. I have crate trained my own dog, so I am able to crate a dog if required (though of course this would entirely depend on each specific dogs needs)

About: I have been surrounded by dogs since I'm very young. My passion for dogs has always been strong and I'm my happiest self when I'm around them! I have a family dog at home, a cocker spaniel, who's 13 years old and that unfortunately I don't see regularly due to me living in the UK for 8 years now. Before moving to England, I looked after him, walked him multiple times a day and played nonstop! I miss him dearly and I would love to give the same treatment to other dogs out there. If you give me an opportunity I would put my heart in this and you won't regret it. I'm currently studying my last year at uni, and I really miss being around my dog, who is with my family in Spain, so I thought it would be a good idea to give my love to other dogs meanwhile! I work only one day a week, on Sundays, I have Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays available. And if you need for me to take care of you dog at night I would also be able to! I would love to spend my free time being around dogs and taking care of them as if it was my own! Although I live in a small flat and I don't have garden or terrace, I do live near big fields here in cumnor hill so I can give long walks! I can travel by bus or walk and I would be more than happy to, if you need me to go to yours.
About: I live with a friendly and lively dachshund called Cannoli who is very sociable and would love to play with your dog! I have raised Cannoli from a puppy! Day care and boarding available for you fur baby! I have a fenced garden and live near lots of beautiful country walks. It would be great to introduce the dogs and the home beforehand to ensure that you and your dog feel comfortable. Weekdays and weekends for day care and boarding with two walks a day minimum! I work from home with Cannoli so will be able to care for both dogs. We have a fenced garden where your dog will be able to roam outside freely and go to the toilet. Your dog will have free reign of the downstairs of our house; kitchen, dining room, living room and beds.
“She is great, Bori came back home and slept five hours straight which I took as a real fun hanging out with Amanda’s doggo during two walks. He looked like he had a good comfortable day.”

“Friendly, communicative and caring ☺️ Leeroy had an awesome time with Quentin! We got lots of updates through the day and we would deffo recommend him if you’re ever in need of a dependable dog sitter! ✨”

“Laurence was absolutely amazing with our girls! From pictures and videos to walks and general communications. She had other dogs on the stay and it helps with socialising! Will definitely be booking again. Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I was little. My first interaction with a dog was when my uncle brought home an adorable Labrador puppy called Charlie and been a dog lover ever since then. In more recent year myself and my partner have looked after multiple dogs of borrow my doggie and really enjoyed helping out. I work for a children’s charity, and work from home 4 days a week. I usually go for a shorter walk in the mornings and at lunch time and then after I clock off from work I will go out for an hour or so. Plenty of opportunities to get out and about. We live in the countryside with a large fenced garden. When having dogs stay before they often love exploring the smells and pond in the garden. If staying at your house we will adapt to your routines and expectations of the dog.
“Molly was fantastic as always. So helpful that she picked our dog up (and he was so so happy to see her) and was flexible about pick up times. She kept us up to date throughout the day and Chewie returned home tired and happy.”

Kate was absolutely brilliant with my dog! So responsive and kept me updated throughout the whole stay, sending regular pictures and videos which was so lovely and reassuring. My dog didn’t even want to leave when I picked him up, which says it all! We’ll definitely be using Kate again and would highly recommend her ❤️

Claudia and her partner werte very accommodating on one of the hottest days of the year. Buckley was with 3 other dogs and they all got on well with each other. He wasn't walked but that was the most sensible decision, bearing in mind the temperature! I would recommend Claudia - Buckley returned calm and happy.

I booked Anna at the last minute, and wasn’t able to organise a meet and greet as a result. I had to rely on good reviews. And it seems my pumpkin had a good day with her and lovely Lulu! Anna is very attentive to the needs of the dogs she cares for. She has a calm nature, which my dog prefers. I would not hesitate to book Anna again.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
