“Fantastic Really pleased with Emily she is brilliant and we have already booked in again. Our dog had a wonderful time we received updates with pictures on how he was doing. Emily is easy to talk to and listened to any concerns/ questions that he had. Excellent service, thank you 😊”

“Paulina took brilliant care of our Golden! She was really flexible and helpful ahead of time, and sent updates and pictures during the stay. He had a great time. We would absolutely use her again!”

“As always James is great, gives me peace of my mind that my dog will be well looked after. Took her out 3 times during the day and sent photos of her snoozing and playing out and about, shes runs to go in and isn't so keen on leaving!”

“Maria is such a great carer. She is perfect on communication, looked after my boy very well, updated me during the day sending lots of pics and videos. My boy looked absolutely super happy. I am so glad that we have come across Maria and we will definitely book for her service again. Thank you”

“First time using rover and had a last minute need for a sitter. We found Melissa, and right from the start she was super helpful and you can tell how much she loves and care for dogs 🥰 She updated me with messages and pictures throughout my Leo’s stay, and how happy he looked. He can be a handful as he’s very energetic but I believe he enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you again Melissa for taking such good care of Leo. It won’t be the last time 😁”

“Alice was wonderful while taking care of my puppy, Dexter. Even though the stay ended up being shorter than planned because the dogs didn’t quite get along, she handled everything with kindness, empathy, and great communication. I really appreciated how thoughtful and caring she was, and it’s clear she truly cares about the dogs she looks after. Thank you so much, Alice!”

“Rebecca deserves a perfect 5 star rating for her positivity, kindness, ease of communication, and professionalism as a caregiver. She accepted my last-minute request and sent regular updates throughout the day. My boy Newton looked so happy. Highly recommend to everyone.”

“Max had such a wonderful time with Litzi and Michael ☺️ They did such a great job of staying in contact and keeping us updated with how comfortable he made himself ? Max will definitely be back!”

“Veronica & Flint have been absolutely fantastic! Very friendly, super helpful and flexible since the very first moment. We couldn't be happier with them and feel totally confident that they have the best interests of our sweet Noomi at heart. We were really concerned about finding the right sitter and feel very fortunate to have Veronica.”

About: My wife and I both grew up with dogs, we've had our own for over 3 years now. We've been sitting dogs via rover for over two years now. We like to take our dogs for a long morning walk, around 5km and a shorter afternoon walk to make sure they're well exercised. My partner and I work mostly remote, there is always one of us at home so we are very flexible with sitting and walking dogs. We have a dog of our own, we always like to have a short introduction first to ensure they get on (we haven't had any rejections yet!). We always walk the dogs at least twice a day: a long walk in the morning and a shorter walk in the afternoon. We have a fenced garden with lawn area for the dogs to sunbath and run around in.
“Veja was brilliant with our Daschund Errol. Friendly and welcoming and helpfully sent pics so we knew he'd settled in. Errol also loved playing with Vejas Daschund puppies, so came home tired but very happy from his day.”

“Amanda has looked after my dog (Ethel 9 months) several times now as day care and is a star. Each time my dog has left the car excitedly wagging her tail on the way to her house and has zoomed in eagerly. She always has a lovely walk and enjoys spending time with Amanda’s chihuahuas playing around. When booking she is quick to respond and takes an active interest in the needs of the dog. During the day, Amanda sends photos and updates which helps make me feel reassured that Ethel is having a great day.”

“Tom was fantastic with our puppy Rubio. They both had a great day together. Tom was super helpful and came out to pick Rubio up and dropped him off. Rubio was calm and sleepy when he came home in the evening, showing us that he’d had a great day with Tom and his dog. I received videos and pics all throughout the day and had great open communication. Will definitely use Tom again.”

“Our Daisy had a wonderful time with Alex and the other dogs in his house. It was the 2nd time he took care of her for the day and I am very happy to have found someone like Alex to take good care of her when I need to be away on business.”

“Isabella took really good care of my rescue Golden Retriever. He was a bit shy the first day but went in full happy energetic mode the next day. He even stops in front of her door now on our walks so it is clear that he enjoyed his stay very much. Isabella was quick in responding, kept me updated during the day and followed all my instructions to make care Bailey had a great time.”

“Crash loved his stay. He was entertained throughout the day. Crash loves playing fletch with the ball. The dog sitter was quick to response to my request and we did a meet and greet session before booking Crash in. I would use their dog services again. Highly recommend.”

Alex and her partner are ideal carers for Buckley. He was made to feel very welcome on both days and they were able to accommodate a late meeting that I had to attend on day 1. Buckley returned happy and very well exercised which meant he was calm on his return each evening. All instructions were followed and regular pictures and videos were sent throughout each day to keep me updated. I would highly recommend them.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
