Rebecca has looked after Chester several times now. He has separation anxiety and is quite nervous but is always well looked after and has great fun with Weaver! We never worry when Chester is with Rebecca and would absolutely recommend her.

Highly recommend James and his partner, my normally anxious Vizsla clearly had a great time. I got pictures throughout the day and my instructions were followed regarding feeding and medication. They even washed her winter coat and food bowl which was a nice touch. They are very clearly dog people and i would recommend them to anybody.

First time using rover and had a last minute need for a sitter. We found Melissa, and right from the start she was super helpful and you can tell how much she loves and care for dogs 🥰 She updated me with messages and pictures throughout my Leo’s stay, and how happy he looked. He can be a handful as he’s very energetic but I believe he enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you again Melissa for taking such good care of Leo. It won’t be the last time 😁

Crash loved his stay. He was entertained throughout the day. Crash loves playing fletch with the ball. The dog sitter was quick to response to my request and we did a meet and greet session before booking Crash in. I would use their dog services again. Highly recommend.

About: My wife and I both grew up with dogs, we've had our own for over 3 years now. We've been sitting dogs via rover for over two years now. We like to take our dogs for a long morning walk, around 5km and a shorter afternoon walk to make sure they're well exercised. My partner and I work mostly remote, there is always one of us at home so we are very flexible with sitting and walking dogs. We have a dog of our own, we always like to have a short introduction first to ensure they get on (we haven't had any rejections yet!). We always walk the dogs at least twice a day: a long walk in the morning and a shorter walk in the afternoon. We have a fenced garden with lawn area for the dogs to sunbath and run around in.

About: I've got a lot of experience with pet sitting and with dogs in general. I have my own dog, Ernie, who is a 2 year old Border Collie x Golden Retriever. I've regularly looked after friends and families pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits and birds, as well as doing a number of day and house sits in the UK and in other countries. My work is also in the charity sector and I've previously worked for the charity Dogs Trust and previously volunteered at a dog sanctuary in Thailand for a month, where we had to do all sorts from walking, feeding, bathing to picking out ticks! I've looked after a whole range of dogs through Rover but stopped for a while after getting my own dog. He's now 2 years old and I'd love to start dog sitting again. Ernie loves other dogs, so it'd really suit if your dog also loves to play! Equally, I will absolutely make sure your dog gets the space they need and won't leave them alone together. I work from home so I'm around a lot to give your dog lots of time and attention. Me and my dog, Ernie, are up and out in the mornings on walks and usually go for another walk later in the day or in the evening. We also have lots of play time or enrichment activities throughout the day. However, I can be flexible to fit in with your dogs routine. With house sitting or visits, I will take your lead on the environment thats best for your dog. Happy to support with enforcing any rules and any training requirements.

About: Hi, we’re Arno and Sarah! Having grown up surrounded by animals, caring for pets has always been a natural part of our lives. Between us, we’ve had experience with a wide variety of animals over the years. We grew up with dogs, as well as cockatiels, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, a chinchilla and even a pony. As adults, we’ve continued our love of animals and have been proud fur parents to a Cocker Spaniel, several cats and even a hamster. We work from home, so your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will have plenty of company, attention and cuddles throughout the day. We understand how reassuring it is to know your pet is with people who are around to keep them happy, settled and treated as part of the family. We’re an active family and absolutely love being outdoors. We regularly head out to woodlands, beaches, parks and countryside footpaths, so your dog can expect plenty of walks, fresh air and adventure if that’s what they enjoy. Equally, we’re happy to adapt to dogs who prefer shorter strolls, slower-paced walks or simply lots of fuss and company at home. We are a busy but loving household made up of two adults, three teenagers and a four-year-old, all of whom have grown up around animals and are confident and respectful with them. One of our teenagers even works in a cattery, so animals are very much part of our everyday life. Our home has both a secure, fully enclosed garden and a separate enclosed yard, providing plenty of safe outdoor space for your dog to explore, play and relax. We also have a very friendly Cocker Spaniel who enjoys the company of other dogs, and our cat is well accustomed to canine visitors and happily keeps out of the way when he chooses. For everyone’s comfort and safety, we’d ideally like to welcome dogs that are comfortable around cats and aren’t inclined to chase them. We know that every pet has its own personality, routine and quirks, and we’ll always take the time to follow your instructions so your dog feels as settled, safe and loved as possible while you’re away. We’ll happily send regular photo and video updates, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, having fun and being cared for as if they were one of our own. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet, we look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members! I work from home, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long periods. My schedule is very flexible, and when I do need to pop out, I can ensure I’m away for no more than around three hours at a time. This means your dog can enjoy a calm, settled environment with lots of companionship, attention and reassurance while you’re away. We have both a secure, fully enclosed garden and a separate enclosed courtyard, providing plenty of safe outdoor space for your dog to explore, play and relax.

Isabella took really good care of my rescue Golden Retriever. He was a bit shy the first day but went in full happy energetic mode the next day. He even stops in front of her door now on our walks so it is clear that he enjoyed his stay very much. Isabella was quick in responding, kept me updated during the day and followed all my instructions to make care Bailey had a great time.

I am so glad we found Ruby and Daniel. Parker has some separation anxiety but this is the second time we left her and she came home happy and exhausted from a great walk. She looked so happy in her pics, so I know she wasn’t just waiting around for us and actually had a full day of exploring and being cared for.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in South Northamptonshire on Rover is £27.6 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,348 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in South Northamptonshire. About 88% of South Northamptonshire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your South Northamptonshire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
