“Rebecca has looked after Chester several times now. He has separation anxiety and is quite nervous but is always well looked after and has great fun with Weaver! We never worry when Chester is with Rebecca and would absolutely recommend her.”

“Pedro was great with my dog Tuna. His home is ideally set up with an enclosed garden in a quiet area and Tuna settled there quickly and easily. He communicated well with me and was very accommodating when I needed to collect Tuna later than I originally thought. I would definitely book Pedro again if I was ever in Northampton in the future.”

“Craig and Suzanne were great dog sitters for my furbaby Freddie. Chester their dog was gorgeous and has a lovely temperament. They were very relaxed and are clearly very experienced dog sitters. Highly recommended as Freddie had a great time!”

About: Hi everyone, My name is Maddy and I have furry babies of my own. I’ve always been good with cats and dogs, looking after and caring for them. Out of my three cats, two are rescues and I love them equally. They’re very needy. I have over ten years of experience and I’d love to provide the same level of care for your furry friends as I do for my own.
“Dani and Ruby are fantastic dog sitters! They provided plenty of entertainment and took my dog for walks. I knew my dog was in great hands with them, as they treated my dog like their own. They are definitely my first choice for dog sitting!”

About: We have had dogs (mostly bulldogs!) in our home for the last 15 years & currently have an English Bulldog called Troy…who is adopted! Now our kids are a little older & we are settled in our new home, we would love to help you when you need somewhere safe, comfortable & loving to send your dog. I am a housewife & mum of 2 so I am home most of the time. Your dog will only be left alone when I have to do the school runs and errands. I have plenty of time for walks & play. I have a fenced garden & are also lucky to have plenty of options for walks including nearby woodland trails. We have a/c so your pet will be safe & cool during the summer months. I have one friendly dog to keep your pet company. Your dog will be cared for like a member of our family.
“James & his dog Ruby are so lovely! Looked after my dog Willow so well, she always came home with a smile on her face & sleepy from a fun day! Thank you so much! Would definitely recommend James & will 100% use in the future! Thanks again”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. Growing up on a farm I have always been surrounded by animals and at least 2/3 dogs minimum. Most recently we had our own rescue dog who had a variety of health and behavioural needs. But we managed to train him up, build his confidence and he led a happy life. Unfortunately he has now passed away and we made the decision with two young kids not to tie ourselves down to having a dog full time; so this seemed like a perfect solution. I love the idea of my kids growing up around dogs and animals; they are already used to all my extended families dogs, including two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, so they are used to big dogs. Rest assured there will be plenty of cuddles and attention for any dogs that stay with us. I work from home full time and we have plenty of space in the house and the garden. I work full time at home and am off work every Friday. Weekends tend to be orientated around getting the kids outside; which generally includes going out on their bikes, round the woods and on walks. I have a fenced in garden and am happy to accommodate to any rules/ boundaries you prefer to set. We are a fairly relaxed and flexible family and our main priority is making sure both kids and dogs alike are safe, looked after and happy.
“As always, Kylo had so much fun with Sabine, he absolutely adores her. Sabine has our full trust and we couldn't wish for a better person to look after our pup! Kylo gets super excited to see Sabine! Thank you!”

“Traveling from London for the competition game to Northampton, my doge stayed with Jana for half day. She was so helpful and good communication person. Very clean house and look after my boy. Highly recommended”

About: Having owned my own dogs since childhood and cats in the last 20 years I am well versed in caring for them. I have owned a mini menagerie of animals with my own children as well as offering support to my local community to take care of dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, hamsters, hedgehogs, birds and the odd rescued creature. I am a part time student (mature) and so am at home most days during the week and weekends are certainly negotiable. I am able to base myself at another home if that suits both parties better. I love having dogs and animals in my orbit as I go for walks, enjoy snuggles and "chats" and pootling around with them - in between essay writing! I have a fenced garden and it is secure. I recently lost my labradoodle to old age sadly but I still have a cat, rats and am currently overwintering a hedgehog. I am equally happy to discuss staying at a clients home if that suits both our needs better.
“Vicky and her partner looked after Basil for the day. They took really good care of him and Basil was super relaxed and comfortable in their home. Vicky sent lots of updates and photos throughout the day too - Basil looked like he had a lovely day. Thank you again Vicky!”

About: Distinguished by a personalised approach, I go beyond happy walks – I create tail-thrilling adventures, connecting with your pet and ensuring your furry companion's joy with every step. I am currently quite busy during the weekdays, so the best days for me to provide care services are Fridays and Weekends or some evenings. I care for pets and dogs at my home as if they were my own providing personal care at all times, I love it so much.
“Skylar was amazing with our puppy and also very flexible with both drop-off and pick-up times! She kept us updated throughout the stay and sent lots of photos as well. Our boy really enjoyed his time with her😊”

“So happy I found Lucie to look after my doggie, 2nd visit and my dog Athena was so excited to see her I’m very relaxed when Lucie is looking after Athena, she genuinely cares and always sends updates, very reliable!”

I am so glad we found Ruby and Daniel. Parker has some separation anxiety but this is the second time we left her and she came home happy and exhausted from a great walk. She looked so happy in her pics, so I know she wasn’t just waiting around for us and actually had a full day of exploring and being cared for.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
