About: I have owned dogs all my life and have experience training, walking and caring for them. I have owned several types of dogs so have learnt to handle different personalities. I have experience caring for dogs other than ones I own as well, such as babysitting for neighbours, extended family members and friends. I currently am a student at the university of York, on summer break until October. During this period I have no academic obligations, so my schedule is completely flexible seven days a week—including evenings and weekends. This open availability allows me to commit readily to regular or one-off engagements, accommodate last-minute requests, and dedicate consistent time and attention wherever it is needed. At home, I follow a consistent, safety-first routine: each of my dogs enjoys two purposeful walks every day, never less than an hour per outing. Whether we’re on-lead along busy pavements or in a secured, off-lead exercise area, I use well-fitted harnesses, high-visibility gear, and clear verbal cues to keep every dog under confident control. Years of working with energetic pups, strong pullers, and shy seniors have sharpened my ability to read canine body language and respond calmly to everything from sudden leash reactivity to distracted wandering. I proactively manage encounters with unfamiliar dogs—maintaining distance when needed, redirecting focus with positive reinforcement, and ensuring that every outing remains relaxed, enjoyable, and incident-free.

Justina was an excellent cat sitter for Blaze while we were away. She made regular drop-ins and took the time to ensure she actually saw him and confirmed he was eating—especially important since he tends to skip meals when his routine changes. Her updates were detailed, with several photos each day, which gave us real peace of mind. We felt completely reassured knowing Blaze was in such caring hands. Highly recommend and will absolutely use her again without hesitation!

Kirstie looked after our two cats over the holidays. We met up before to go through everything, which was great and Kirstie met the two pests briefly 😂. We came back and my cats were so happy, a lot happier than staying at a cattery. Will use Kirstie again without hesitation, she’s lovely and friendly. Thank you xxx

About: I have worked with dogs for many years within the pet industry and with working farm dogs. I have no problems with giving medication as my eldest cat currently has medical supplements for bladder issues. I love going for walks and I can cater to your furry friends needs, whether it's a 30 mins stroll outside or an hour running around a woodland or open fields. I've also had many other furry friends of my own such as a dog, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbit and tropical fish. I do work full time but have the flexibility of working from home. I'm local to the Milton Keynes area but happy to travel if and when required. I'm an early riser and can work around your pets routine throughout the day. I have had cats since I was 15 years old and currently own two cats (Ted & Pixie). One is an outdoor cat and the other stays indoors. I have no problems with cleaning litter trays or giving medication as my eldest cat currently has medical supplements for bladder issues. My cats are also used to dogs when our family or friends occasionally bring their pooches to visit.

About: Need someone who truly speaks 'dog'? I’ve spent my whole life surrounded by pets (including hamsters and even ducks!), so I’m well-versed in the care and quirks of all kinds of animals. My dog, Enzo, and I are looking for some new buddies to join our daily adventures! We offer a friendly, social environment—and on special days, my dad’s Mini Schnauzer joins the crew for even more tail-wagging fun. I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages and sizes, and I can’t wait to treat your pup like one of my own 😊 If your dog isnt a fan of others, thats completely fine! Im happy to walk your pup alone if needed. I do have a car if required, but I usually walk around the river or in the meadows during the week! I work full time, but in a flexible role and from home. I can work different hours, but do normally have some meetings to attend, but as I'm often coordinating these I can fit them to a schedule. I have a fenced garden and have Enzo, my Italian Volpino, to keep your pup company! I live in Central Towcester so often walk int the area.

About: I have been working around animals pretty much my entire life, so much so that I have formal qualifications in animal care. I have experience working in Catteries which came with professional training on administering medication and treatments while on the job! I have a deep seated interest in cat and dog behaviour and psychology. I have studied this for years, employing what i have learnt onto my own furry friend to great effect, to the point that she performed on stage, in a rendition of "The Wizard of Oz" where she, of course, played the role of Toto I look forward to hearing from you and meeting all of your pets! I'm available all hours of the day and every day of the week! So if you need a dog sitter for your holiday in 3 months, or if you need one in 30 minutes, I'll be there! When I'm sitting with your dog I will do exactly what you need and request! If your dog has a specific regime then let me know and it'll be followed to the letter! I have a large amount of experience with giving medication to cats and dogs, so if your furry friend struggles with any health issue then let me know! That way you can rest easy knowing that they will be kept in peak health while you're away However if you have a dog that can be a little silly and needs to be trained or helped in some way then look no further! I have a triple distinction in animal care so I have the qualifications to make sure your furry friend is the happiest they can be! I can always offer the services of my own dog if that's something which floats your boat! She is a very well trained dog that has endless experience with helping other dogs, by giving them an example to follow if needed.

About: Hi, My name is Jess and I have been dog walking professionally for 3 years and before that doing it on a ad-hoc basis while I was studying. I've always had a passion for animals and have been the go-to person for family and friends whenever they needed assistance with their pets. I love taking dogs for walks and caring for cats whenever I can. When I meet a pet for the first time, I make it a priority to learn all about them—their routine, habits, and personality and any health issues. Understanding these aspects is essential for me and making sure that the pet feels comfortable with me. This allows me to provide the best care possible, tailored to their individual needs. When I take a dog for a walk, I make it a point to provide a well-rounded experience. I ensure they get plenty of exercise while also allowing them to sniff and explore their environment, as that’s just as crucial as letting them run freely. One of my favorite activities is playing the “find it” game with treats. It’s a fantastic way to help them settle down after all the excitement of running around! I have a certificate of attendance that I have completed a CPD accredited activity in dog first aid and emergency canine care. I also carry a first kit around with me. As I'm currently living in a flat sadly I don't have a dog of my own but do have 3 fishes all named Gus! Known as the Gus's my wonderful guppy fish. Along side my fish I also share custody of the family dog Pumba (mini Yorkie 11 years old!) who is a lovable dog but lacks a braincell expect when it comes to food! When I was younger we had many family pets including hampers, degus and a very grumpy rabbit. So I would be willing to pet sit for your small furry friends. Looking forward to hearing from you, Jess I'm a self employed dog walker so this is my day to day which I love! I'm available all week to help with your pets. When I take care of your pet in your home I make sure I follow their routine to keep them as happy and calm as possible.

About: I moved to the UK 10 years ago from New Zealand where I grew up in a family home full of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits and a horse. I love having animals around so would love to help anyone out with caring for their furry family members. I work from home and would love some company! I can be relatively flexible but do work the usual 9-5 even though I am at home but am happy to keep any animals who may otherwise be home alone company during the days. I can go for walks at lunch time and after 5pm and do toilet breaks more frequently during the day. I would love to care for anyone’s pets as if they were my own. About: Hi, my name’s Rebecca. I’m a reliable and caring dog walker and pet sitter with experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities, including strong breeds, puppies, and senior dogs. I’ve grown up around dogs such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Great Danes, Rottweilers, and Jack Russells, so I’m confident with both energetic and larger breeds as well as smaller dogs. I also have experience helping young dogs build confidence and supporting older dogs who need a gentler, more patient approach. I always use calm, consistent handling and take time to understand each dog’s individual personality so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m also experienced with cats, having grown up with them and regularly providing drop-in visits including feeding, litter tray cleaning, playtime, grooming, and companionship. I’m reliable, punctual, and respectful of every home I visit. I provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel reassured while they’re away. Above all, I genuinely care about every animal I look after and always treat them as if they were my own. 💕 Pet care fits naturally into my routine as I already care for and walk dogs regularly. I work a rotating shift pattern during the week and offer morning walks (6am–9am), evening walks (5:30pm–7:30pm), and weekend availability. I provide both 30-minute and 60-minute dog walks, tailored to your dog’s energy level and needs, as well as dog and cat drop-in visits. Drop-ins include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, litter tray cleaning, playtime, grooming where needed, and companionship. I’m reliable and punctual, and I make sure every visit is carried out calmly and with care, following your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with their safety, comfort, and wellbeing as my priority. In a pet owner’s home, I follow their usual routines and instructions closely to help pets feel secure and settled in their familiar environment. During dog walks and drop-in visits, I ensure each pet receives the right balance of exercise, toilet breaks, companionship, and attention. For cats, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, grooming, playtime, and calm companionship based on their individual personality. I always adapt my care to suit each pet’s routine, energy level, and temperament, and I aim to keep their environment calm, clean, and stress-free while their owners are away. I also provide regular updates and photos after each visit or walk so owners can feel reassured that their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.

I share my life with a highly trained Belgian Malinois, and my partner also works closely with working dogs, so I’m very comfortable handling intelligent, energetic and sensitive breeds, as well as maintaining consistent routines and calm handling. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Northamptonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
