Andy was loving and caring towards our two dogs! He was not only professional but easily contactable and replied promptly every time. We were not only comfortable with him looking after our dogs, we would consider visiting their family as they got along so well with our pups! We received images of the dogs and updates daily! Would highly recommend.

Pedro has just had our nervous Romanian rescue dog Otto for a trial stay and all was great. Although generally a gentle dog, Otto can't be boarded with other dogs, cats or young children due to his anxiety so Pedro is a great choice for us. He listened to all of Otto's needs and quirks and took everything into consideration to make Otto's stay as stress free as possible. We are using Pedro again for a longer booking in a few weeks and have no worries about doing so.

We highly recommend Jessica !!! Our pup Mila stayed with Jessica and her lovely family for 4 nights. Jessica is extremely accommodating & flexible every step of the process. Jessica sends regular updates and photos. Mila was so well cared for and loved. I didn’t worry for one minute while she was in Jessicas care as she is so attentive and thinks of every detail. We will definitely be rebooking with Jessica again soon. 😊

Otis is a bit anxious and always very busy so we were nervous about leaving him in someone's home, but right from the start Kristy put us at ease. Krisy gave us daily updates about long walks and swimming, which, as it was our first time was really appreciated. Otis will definitely be holidaying with Kristy again!

Lourdes was absolutely fantastic. My mum was very nervous about leaving Marcus, but Lourdes met him first and hit it off straight away, which settled all the nerves! Throughout the process, Lourdes kept us updated with plenty of pictures and updates. Marcus looked like he was having a fantastic time. We can't thank you enough!

Eva is so good, she has been amaizing. I have left my girl with her for 2 weeks which is a shelter dog, I adopted her at the end of April and it was her first time boarding and staying with a pet sitter. Eva is so organised, she took Oxa to the vet to have her booster, she gave her flea tablets, she has trained her to be more calm and to follow when having walks, she even bought a harness for Oxa and gave it as a gift to Oxa. She gave me advices, considering that Oxa is a shelter dog, which help me a lot. She answered to my messages even after the booking.Eva kept me up to date and sent pictures regularly too, which it was so reassuring. I definitely recommmend Eva, she has been briliant!

I couldn’t recommend Andrew enough! This was my first time leaving Luna while I went on holiday, and he made me feel completely comfortable and reassured from the start. Andrew is such a lovely, kind and caring person, and it was clear Luna was very happy and well looked after. He gave her so much love and attention, took her on great walks, and even let her snuggle up with him in bed, which I know she absolutely loved! He kept me updated throughout my holiday with messages and lots of lovely pictures, which really put my mind at ease and meant I could relax knowing Luna was happy and in such good hands. I came home to a very happy Luna! I would 100% recommend Andrew to anyone looking for someone caring, trustworthy and genuinely lovely to look after their dog. I’ll definitely be hoping Andrew can look after Luna again in the future! ❤️

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs, horses and other animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I currently have one dog of my own who will come with me for overnight stays and will be at my house if I am looking after your pooch. I work from home most days, which means plenty of company and attention for your dog. I’m lucky to have countryside walks just minutes away, plus a secure garden for safe playtime. I’m experienced with all varieties - from lively puppies to gentle seniors, and I’m comfortable with administering medication and sticking to special diets! I have been pet sitting alongside my day to day job for 10 years now and can provide references. When your dog stays with me, they’ll be treated like part of the family. I can adjust my routine to fit theirs! You’ll get daily photo updates so you can see how much fun they’re having. The only thing I ask is that they are friendly with my pooch. I currently work full time, mainly from home other than 5 hours on a Tuesday. I can amend my routine to fit around dogs needs. I can do day boarding and overnight boarding but my own dog will be here with me. I have a fenced garden, many walks straight from my doorstep. I have a dog of my own here and my neighbours do have dogs on the other side of the fence, so just something to think about if you have a highly reactive doggo! Dogs are allowed on the furniture but if you prefer dogs to be crated whilst I’m out - usually only short burst to pop to the shop, I do have small crates from when mine was a pup. For larger dogs you would need to provide the crate.

About: I've had dogs since I was about 10, with a variety of breeds including a bearded collie, retrievers, a cross-bred rescue and my all time favourites, labradors. I enjoyed helping my parents train guide dogs too, and have used those skills many times over the years, helping train friend’s dogs when there was a need. I've also got plenty of experience looking after other people's dogs, as friends have often asked me to either babysit, drop in or fully take in their dogs when they've been away, something I've always been very happy to do, the latest being a fun mix with a shitshu with attitude and his very laid back buddy, an Alsatian😄 I don't have dogs of my own at the moment, however I would love to help other dogs if needed and is something I really enjoy doing, sometimes along with my partner. We are both very outdoorsy and love a dog walk, in all weathers! I'm available to help with any services for dogs at weekends (Fri evenings through to Sunday evenings) as I work full time in the week. We live in a house which has a large enclosed garden, and at all times, the utmost care is obviously given, with all rules and requests strictly adhered to. Photos will happily be provided, and I aim to please! As far as I'm concerned, anything else is unacceptable, as it's how I'd want my pets looked after.

About: Hi, we’re Arno and Sarah! Having grown up surrounded by animals, caring for pets has always been a natural part of our lives. Between us, we’ve had experience with a wide variety of animals over the years. We grew up with dogs, as well as cockatiels, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, a chinchilla and even a pony. As adults, we’ve continued our love of animals and have been proud fur parents to a Cocker Spaniel, several cats and even a hamster. We work from home, so your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will have plenty of company, attention and cuddles throughout the day. We understand how reassuring it is to know your pet is with people who are around to keep them happy, settled and treated as part of the family. We’re an active family and absolutely love being outdoors. We regularly head out to woodlands, beaches, parks and countryside footpaths, so your dog can expect plenty of walks, fresh air and adventure if that’s what they enjoy. Equally, we’re happy to adapt to dogs who prefer shorter strolls, slower-paced walks or simply lots of fuss and company at home. We are a busy but loving household made up of two adults, three teenagers and a four-year-old, all of whom have grown up around animals and are confident and respectful with them. One of our teenagers even works in a cattery, so animals are very much part of our everyday life. Our home has both a secure, fully enclosed garden and a separate enclosed yard, providing plenty of safe outdoor space for your dog to explore, play and relax. We also have a very friendly Cocker Spaniel who enjoys the company of other dogs, and our cat is well accustomed to canine visitors and happily keeps out of the way when he chooses. For everyone’s comfort and safety, we’d ideally like to welcome dogs that are comfortable around cats and aren’t inclined to chase them. We know that every pet has its own personality, routine and quirks, and we’ll always take the time to follow your instructions so your dog feels as settled, safe and loved as possible while you’re away. We’ll happily send regular photo and video updates, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, having fun and being cared for as if they were one of our own. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet, we look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members! I work from home, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long periods. My schedule is very flexible, and when I do need to pop out, I can ensure I’m away for no more than around three hours at a time. This means your dog can enjoy a calm, settled environment with lots of companionship, attention and reassurance while you’re away. We have both a secure, fully enclosed garden and a separate enclosed courtyard, providing plenty of safe outdoor space for your dog to explore, play and relax.

This was our first time using Rover and our first time leaving our dog with a sitter. We couldn’t be more pleased to have found Pedro. Our Pepper is very high energy and a little bit naughty but Pedro was happy to have her for nearly a week. Pedro took Pepper on daily walks and provided us with updates. We felt at ease that she was being well cared for and it helped us enjoy our holiday that much more.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
