“Andy was loving and caring towards our two dogs! He was not only professional but easily contactable and replied promptly every time. We were not only comfortable with him looking after our dogs, we would consider visiting their family as they got along so well with our pups! We received images of the dogs and updates daily! Would highly recommend.”

“We used Jessica last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, but she was amazing throughout putting our minds at ease knowing Leo was being well looked after. After the first meet my partner and myself were really happy with Jessica and Troy and left feeling Leo would be cared for. Jessica provided daily updates for the duration of his stay, which helped us massively enjoy our time away knowing our boy was in good hands.. I would recommend and will be using Jessica again in the future.”

“Pedro looked after our Cockapoo Albi for a week while we were out of the country. We're very pleased with Pedro and would happily send Albi for a mini-break again! The communication was great, before and during the stay, and we received regular updates on how Albi was doing with photos.”

“Sid absolutely loved staying with June and Ben. He was spoilt rotten and really enjoyed having a playmate. Would not hesitate to recommend June and will definitely book her again when the need arises. Thankyou for taking great care of him. Mark and Julie x”

“Otis is a bit anxious and always very busy so we were nervous about leaving him in someone's home, but right from the start Kristy put us at ease. Krisy gave us daily updates about long walks and swimming, which, as it was our first time was really appreciated. Otis will definitely be holidaying with Kristy again!”

“Would 1,000,000% book again. Tim’s first time being left with someone he isn’t familiar with since we’ve had him. Lourdes, your regular updates were fab and the kindness and compassion you showed towards him was really meaningful for us. Especially as we were unsure if he would settle. Thank you so much. Tim had a lovely time and clearly felt very comfortable being with you!”

“I am so thankful for finding such a lovely person to look after Riley, he had the best time and I felt relaxed knowing he was being looked after in a lovely safe home environment with Shreya .”

“Our Pup Mila stayed with Samantha for 4 nights recently. Samantha is very warm and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about dogs with helpful advice. Attentive to Mila and all her needs. Samantha updates are amazing. A lot of videos and photos sent - which I really appreciate and enjoy receiving. Contact with Samantha was immediate. The whole process starting with a meet and greet is organised and accomodating. Mila settled well with Samantha and her lovely pack of pups. We will definitely book with Samantha again.”

About: Hi everyone, My name is Maddy and I have furry babies of my own. I’ve always been good with cats and dogs, looking after and caring for them. Out of my three cats, two are rescues and I love them equally. They’re very needy. I have over ten years of experience and I’d love to provide the same level of care for your furry friends as I do for my own.
“Karen is honestly amazing. Nini has just come back from an overnight stay. I have one happy dog. He was well cared for, happy and it’s clear Karen was passionate about dogs. It really helped calm my nerves at leaving him knowing she has lots of experience with Staffies. Will definitely have Nino stay with her again and would recommend her to anyone wanting a lovely, friendly person to look after their 4 legged furry friends.”

“Andy looked after our dog Lottie overnight and we honestly couldn’t have asked for better care. From the moment we met him, it was clear how kind, trustworthy and genuinely caring he is with animals. Lottie settled immediately and was so happy and relaxed when we collected her. Andy kept us updated, treated her like one of his own, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s obvious he truly loves dogs and takes great pride in what he does. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and will absolutely be using him again in the future. First class in every way!”

“Ethy wonders why my car doesn’t stop in front of your place when we drive somewhere! I’m sure of it! Thank you so much for making me feel at ease and letting her stay with you! I’ll be sure sure to sing your praises! Thanks you so much Nayelly and her awesome family!”

About: I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) based in Milton Keynes, offering calm, reliable, and compassionate care for pets of all ages. I’ve spent years working closely with animals, and I love creating a safe, relaxed environment where they feel understood and genuinely cared for. My RVN background means I’m confident supporting pets with medication, senior‑pet needs, post‑operative routines, and recognising early signs of stress or illness. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, elderly, or has specific medical or behavioural needs, I adapt my care to suit them. I can also follow and carry out your training routine. I’m gentle, patient, and very attentive, and I always follow your instructions carefully. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you feel connected and reassured while you’re away. My goal is simple: to treat your pet with the same kindness and respect I’d want for my own. If you’d like to chat or arrange a meet‑and‑greet, I’d be happy to hear from you. I keep a flexible weekly routine, which allows me to fit pet care in comfortably and reliably. I plan my days around the pets I’m looking after, making sure I have plenty of time for walks, visits, and any extra needs. I’m also available for morning walks, which many pets enjoy as part of their routine. I never overbook, so your pet always gets calm, focused attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home: I follow your routines closely so your pet feels secure and settled. I take time to understand their habits, feeding schedule, favourite spots, and any medical or behavioural needs. As an RVN, I’m confident recognising early signs of stress or discomfort, and I always prioritise calm, gentle handling. I keep your home tidy and secure, and I send regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. When caring for pets in my home: I provide a quiet, relaxed environment with plenty of space for pets to settle in. I only take pets from one family at a time, so your pet receives my full attention and never has to worry about overcrowding or unfamiliar animals. I also have a very friendly resident cat who used to be a clinic cat — he’s calm, social, and used to meeting new animals in a gentle, controlled way. Introductions are always slow and safe, and I only allow interactions if everyone is comfortable. Your pet’s wellbeing comes first. I use my RVN experience to ensure safe handling, clean environments, and careful monitoring, while keeping everything warm, patient, and reassuring. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I aim to create a calm, predictable space where pets feel secure and understood.
“Harvey had his second doggie day care with Greg. He enjoyed meeting another dog, was looked after well and Greg seems to help with Harvey's socialisation and puppy training. I received some photographs during the day and had useful feedback at the end of the day. My cats think Greg is great because they get a day without the puppy too!! I am happy to recommend Greg. We will always hope to book Greg as our first choice of dog sitter.”

“Thanks so much to Craig and his family for taking such wonderful care of Ted. They really listened to my instructions and followed them carefully. I appreciated all the updates and pictures, they really put my mind at ease. Ted came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I’m very grateful for the love and attention they gave him and would highly recommend them!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - South Northamptonshire
Pedro was fantastic with Treacle and he took great care of her considering the heatwave and some unexpected setbacks with her care. He clearly adapted to this and didn’t let it affect our time spent away, sending us lovely updates throughout the time spent. We’re really grateful that he handled this, despite her coming into season early and a bit of a chaotic drop off initially. Thank you again Pedro!

Ralph had an amazing time with Andy and his family! He looked truly happy and settled from frequent photos and updates received. Andy took great care to ensure Ralph was as comfortable as possible during the heatwave. Thank you for welcoming Ralph into your home and treating him as one the team! We are relieved to have found a great sitter and friend for Ralph for the future! Thank you all so much!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
