“Our dog Biscuit had a wonderful stay. Great communication and so helpful as we booked the stay very last minute. Super updates with messages and pictures. They were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend.”

“Eva is so good, she has been amaizing. I have left my girl with her for 2 weeks which is a shelter dog, I adopted her at the end of April and it was her first time boarding and staying with a pet sitter. Eva is so organised, she took Oxa to the vet to have her booster, she gave her flea tablets, she has trained her to be more calm and to follow when having walks, she even bought a harness for Oxa and gave it as a gift to Oxa. She gave me advices, considering that Oxa is a shelter dog, which help me a lot. She answered to my messages even after the booking.Eva kept me up to date and sent pictures regularly too, which it was so reassuring. I definitely recommmend Eva, she has been briliant!”

“Erika is a wonderful Dog sitter. Rosa our French Bulldog settled quickly and felt right at home. Erika was so flexible and accommodating. We felt very at ease leaving Rosa. We enjoyed all the regular updates and pictures. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

“Julie, her husband and her lovely dog, Chester, made our doggie Evie so welcome. Evie had a lovely time going for long walks and snuggling by the fire. She had lots of cuddles and fuss. She kept us updated every day with messages and photos. We will definitely use Julie again.”

“A lovely family, we could tell Marnie was well looked after and that they were a family who really loved dogs. It makes such a difference and gave us piece of mind. Thank you for taking such good care of her.”

“Really Really happy with the care my dog received from our sitter. Coral was very caring and clearly passionate about dogs. My dog was happy and received plenty of affection. The regular updates and photos were a great touch, providing peace of mind. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“I could not be happier with Honey and Bernie's stay with Lai. They were very settled as soon as they arrived, and I received lots of photos and updates throughout their stay. I knew both dogs were very happy and relaxed, as they did not make any fuss when I came to collect them. I cannot recommend Lai highly enough.”

“Indra was great with communication, was happy to meet before our dog's stay to get acquainted and then kept us updated with how much fun the pooch was having on her walks and playing with the kids. We will definitely be using Indra again.”

“Our dog Daisy had a great weekend away! She looked so relaxed and could tell she had really been looked after. Irina and Santiago was so kind, friendly and really respected Daisys routine. Felt really at ease. Would recommend and use again!”

About: I've had dogs since I was about 10, with a variety of breeds including a bearded collie, retrievers, a cross-bred rescue and my all time favourites, labradors. I enjoyed helping my parents train guide dogs too, and have used those skills many times over the years, helping train friend’s dogs when there was a need. I've also got plenty of experience looking after other people's dogs, as friends have often asked me to either babysit, drop in or fully take in their dogs when they've been away, something I've always been very happy to do, the latest being a fun mix with a shitshu with attitude and his very laid back buddy, an Alsatian😄 I don't have dogs of my own at the moment, however I would love to help other dogs if needed and is something I really enjoy doing, sometimes along with my partner. We are both very outdoorsy and love a dog walk, in all weathers! I'm available to help with any services for dogs at weekends (Fri evenings through to Sunday evenings) as I work full time in the week. We live in a house which has a large enclosed garden, and at all times, the utmost care is obviously given, with all rules and requests strictly adhered to. Photos will happily be provided, and I aim to please! As far as I'm concerned, anything else is unacceptable, as it's how I'd want my pets looked after.

“This is the 5th time Reggie has stayed with Orsi, over the last 3 years. Whilst Reggie is an anxious dog, he always has a great time and Orsi takes amazing care of him, ensuring he enjoys his stay and is well looked after. Orsi sends regular photos and videos, so we can see how much fun he’s having - particularly on his walks, running around with other dogs in Orsi’s care. Orsi is always the first person we go to when we need a sitter for Reggie.”

“Nellie is an Excellent Dog Sitter, Very Friendly, Helpful & was updated on how my dog was doing. Buddy was really happy when I picked him up & I would use this sitter again without hesitation. Thank you again.”

“I am so thankful for finding such a lovely person to look after Riley, he had the best time and I felt relaxed knowing he was being looked after in a lovely safe home environment with Shreya .”

“Mandy and her family were so friendly and nice to deal with. They sent lots of lovely photos so we knew Marnie was being well looked after. As Marnie is a puppy and this was her first time away from us overnight, we were very anxious about her stay - but she seemed happy when we collected her.”

“toffee has boarded with maria twice now. she settles very quickly as maria is calm and patient allows toffee to investigate her home. she knows which house to go too. she is always both excited and calm when we pick her up.. maria also provides photos of her to help us settle as we miss. lol. we will be booking with her again as toffee is very happy to stay.”
“Jessamine was great. Really responsive to messages, took a real interest in Laika's routine, likes and dislikes and sent the perfect number of updates. Laika has stayed twice now and had no doubts about where she was going the second time so all good from her as well I think.”

Meg absolutely loved staying with Orsi! 🐾 We received a lovely update and photo every day, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Orsi was wonderful with Meg, and we’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be using her again! 😊

We are repeat customers of Aarthi, in fact she is the only sitter I use due to her obvious care and love for our cavapoo Oscar! It is very clear that she adores dogs and is veey knowledgeable about them so I always feel that Oscar is in excellent and trustworthy hands and we can totally relax on holiday. She had a huge garden and Oscar loves playing with her dog Cookie and has a great time with Aarthi’s family. I highly recommend Aarthi!

Karen was great with our elderly spaniel, he was very well looked after despite being a bit unsettled at first but this did not cause a problem. Karen also had to get inventive about giving him his tablets as he tries his best to avoid them. Would definitely recommend and Toby will be returning. Many thanks Karen

I found Leanne very easy going, friendly and the ability to deal with any situation that might have come about. Josie spent a long weekend being looked after by Leanne and I was sent pictures and updates of her stay which was quite reassuring. Josie was relaxed and somewhat reluctant to leave her home when it was time to pick her up. I highly recommend her services and look forward to booking more sessions in the future!

Marlowe stayed with Shreya and her partner for one night and he came back the happiest dog! Shreya gave us regular updates and took some amazing pictures which gave us peace of mind our pup was having the best time. We will definitely using her services again, would highly recommend.

Craig and Julie are so lovely, both genuinely really caring dog lovers and want your dog to have a 'home from home' stay. They took care in ensuring Casper stuck to his routine for length and frequancy of walks plus feeding times . Their location is surrounded by wonderful walks. I recieved regular photos during his stay, showing his activities, resting and even a paw washing after a fabulous but muddy walk. I highly recommend them and are planning our next stay. Thank you for such amazing care.

Sunny cared for our female husky Nia for 10 days whilst we were out the country - it was the first time leaving Nia and we were a little apprehensive as Nia is true to her breed and can be quite a handful at times! Sunny quickly put our minds at ease, sending regular updates and photos showing her on amazing walks, getting pup cups and on a doggy play date! We will definitely be booking with Sunny again whenever we need a pet sitter 💛

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic dog sitter! They took wonderful care of my dog, providing plenty of love, attention, and updates throughout. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Viktorija came very highly recommended by our dog walker’s friend and has totally lived up to her recommendation. Reggie has had daycare and a few days boarding and he greeted her extremely enthusiastically following his first stay with her. From our perspective Viktorija is extremely accommodating and very flexible when booking. We highly recommend her.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
