“Our dog Biscuit had a wonderful stay. Great communication and so helpful as we booked the stay very last minute. Super updates with messages and pictures. They were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend.”

“Eva is so good, she has been amaizing. I have left my girl with her for 2 weeks which is a shelter dog, I adopted her at the end of April and it was her first time boarding and staying with a pet sitter. Eva is so organised, she took Oxa to the vet to have her booster, she gave her flea tablets, she has trained her to be more calm and to follow when having walks, she even bought a harness for Oxa and gave it as a gift to Oxa. She gave me advices, considering that Oxa is a shelter dog, which help me a lot. She answered to my messages even after the booking.Eva kept me up to date and sent pictures regularly too, which it was so reassuring. I definitely recommmend Eva, she has been briliant!”

“Goofy had a very joyful time at Shreya’s , specially his companion Riley. This was our second time with Shreya and she is very good will definitely book her again and recommend always”

“Lyn looked after my dog, Candy, for a week while I was away, and I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. She is such a sweet, kind, and caring person, and it was clear that Candy was in safe and loving hands throughout. Lyn kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which really put my mind at ease and allowed me to enjoy my time away without worrying. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for Candy was. I would highly recommend Lyn to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring to look after their pet. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Candy!”

“Julie & Craig are absolutely amazing dog sitters, Ruby had the best time they kept us informed at all times and sent some lovely photos across would 100% recommend them to anyone thank you again for having Ruby!”

About: Although I am new to Rover, I have cared for dogs for family and friends for several years. I am reliable, caring, and committed to providing a safe, loving environment for every dog in my care. I understand how important it is for owners to trust the person looking after their pet, and I will treat every dog as if they were my own. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. I am available for regular walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I live in a house with a fully fenced, secure garden, providing plenty of safe outdoor space for dogs to play. I also have a friendly young Labrador Retriever who enjoys spending time with other dogs. I always follow each owner's instructions and routine to make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Coral and her family were so awesome to my little Lomi. They kept me updated throughout the visit and took good care of Lomi even as she was injured. So happy with the care we received”

“I could not be happier with Honey and Bernie's stay with Lai. They were very settled as soon as they arrived, and I received lots of photos and updates throughout their stay. I knew both dogs were very happy and relaxed, as they did not make any fuss when I came to collect them. I cannot recommend Lai highly enough.”

About: I've had dogs since I was about 10, with a variety of breeds including a bearded collie, retrievers, a cross-bred rescue and my all time favourites, labradors. I enjoyed helping my parents train guide dogs too, and have used those skills many times over the years, helping train friend’s dogs when there was a need. I've also got plenty of experience looking after other people's dogs, as friends have often asked me to either babysit, drop in or fully take in their dogs when they've been away, something I've always been very happy to do, the latest being a fun mix with a shitshu with attitude and his very laid back buddy, an Alsatian😄 I don't have dogs of my own at the moment, however I would love to help other dogs if needed and is something I really enjoy doing, sometimes along with my partner. We are both very outdoorsy and love a dog walk, in all weathers! I'm available to help with any services for dogs at weekends (Fri evenings through to Sunday evenings) as I work full time in the week. We live in a house which has a large enclosed garden, and at all times, the utmost care is obviously given, with all rules and requests strictly adhered to. Photos will happily be provided, and I aim to please! As far as I'm concerned, anything else is unacceptable, as it's how I'd want my pets looked after.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 35 years of experience caring for my own dogs, and I truly believe they should be treated with the same unconditional love and loyalty that they give us. I share my home with my husband and two friendly Border Terriers, who are very much part of the family. They have free access to our small, comfortable bungalow, so visiting dogs can enjoy a relaxed, homely environment rather than being confined to one area. We also have a small, secure, dog-friendly garden where your dog can safely enjoy some fresh air and outdoor time. I’m very security conscious, and your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved dog in someone else’s care. You can feel confident that while you’re away, your dog will be treated as one of the family, with plenty of attention, affection and care. With my genuine love of dogs, I will do everything I can to make their stay happy, comfortable and stress-free — giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. Your dog will be cared for, loved and looked after as if they were my own. ❤️🐶 I am now retired so have plenty of time to play with and care for your dog any day of the week. Weekends can sometimes be a little busy for me but I will try and accommodate if I'm given enough notice. I can provide doggy day care while you are at work or can pop in your own home a few times a day if required. If you are going on holiday for a week or two, I am happy to accommodate if given enough notice. I have a secure, fenced garden and my own two Border Terriers to keep your dog company and to play with. Inside the home we have a baby gate which we use when answering the front door for security. We have toys, a paddling pool and a tunnel.
“Nellie is an Excellent Dog Sitter, Very Friendly, Helpful & was updated on how my dog was doing. Buddy was really happy when I picked him up & I would use this sitter again without hesitation. Thank you again.”

“Would 1,000,000% book again. Tim’s first time being left with someone he isn’t familiar with since we’ve had him. Lourdes, your regular updates were fab and the kindness and compassion you showed towards him was really meaningful for us. Especially as we were unsure if he would settle. Thank you so much. Tim had a lovely time and clearly felt very comfortable being with you!”

“Jess and Luke are truly lovely people and took such great care of Bruce!! He got plenty of trips, walks, and cuddles, and I could tell he was happy and well-loved while I was away. I especially appreciated the daily updates on what he was doing and how he was feeling – it really put my mind at ease 🥰 I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!! Let me know if you would like me to make any changes or additions!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a child and have experience caring for them through every stage of their lives, from puppies through to their senior years. I currently have a Pomeranian of my own, which has given me continued, hands-on experience with daily dog care, routines and companionship. I work from home, so I’m at home throughout the day. Shreya and her husband Arj provided a fantastic home from home environment for our almost 12 year old cockapoo Bramble. They provided thorough updates and gorgeous pictures throughout his stay. He was provided with lots of enrichment activities along with their own Dog Riley who is adorable. I would 100% recommend and will contact again should the need arise.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t be happier with the care Orsi gave our dog while boarding him for a few days. From the moment we dropped him off, we felt completely reassured that he was in safe, loving and capable hands. Orsi was fantastic throughout the stay — caring, attentive and clearly genuinely passionate about dogs. She kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind, and it was lovely to see how happy and settled he was. It’s not always easy leaving your dog with someone else, but Orsi made the whole experience completely stress-free. We came back to a very happy, relaxed dog, which says it all! We would absolutely recommend Orsi to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their dog. We’ll definitely be using her again! 🐶❤️
Elvis spent 2 wonderful weeks in the care of Erika, I had the feeling he almost was hesitating to return home. During his stay he needed a visit to the vets and Erika lovingly took care of him spoiling him with lots of attention. I had daily updates and photos. I certainly will book with Erika again.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my dog! Leaving him for 6 days was something I was really anxious about but from the moment I met Karen, it was clear he was going to be in great hands. We loved receiving updates, photos and videos throughout his stay, and it was obvious just how happy, relaxed and loved he was! He was treated like one of the family which was so important to me, and he absolutely loved his time there - I was a little concerned he wouldn’t want to come home! 😂 We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and I can’t recommend Karen highly enough. Thank you again for taking such amazing care of him! 🥰

We are repeat customers of Aarthi, in fact she is the only sitter I use due to her obvious care and love for our cavapoo Oscar! It is very clear that she adores dogs and is veey knowledgeable about them so I always feel that Oscar is in excellent and trustworthy hands and we can totally relax on holiday. She had a huge garden and Oscar loves playing with her dog Cookie and has a great time with Aarthi’s family. I highly recommend Aarthi!

Craig and Julie are so lovely, both genuinely really caring dog lovers and want your dog to have a 'home from home' stay. They took care in ensuring Casper stuck to his routine for length and frequancy of walks plus feeding times . Their location is surrounded by wonderful walks. I recieved regular photos during his stay, showing his activities, resting and even a paw washing after a fabulous but muddy walk. I highly recommend them and are planning our next stay. Thank you for such amazing care.

Sunny cared for our female husky Nia for 10 days whilst we were out the country - it was the first time leaving Nia and we were a little apprehensive as Nia is true to her breed and can be quite a handful at times! Sunny quickly put our minds at ease, sending regular updates and photos showing her on amazing walks, getting pup cups and on a doggy play date! We will definitely be booking with Sunny again whenever we need a pet sitter 💛

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
