“Our dog xena has only been looked after by friends and family non of which are animal owners. So this was the first time xena had stayed anywhere other than home I was so worried, worried she would feel abandoned & not familiar with the new surroundings. I went away and to my horror my phone wouldn’t work so I had no communication on how she was doing. As soon as I landed home and my phone started working I received all these amazing photos & videos of xena and what an amazing time she was having with Lisa and her partner without a thought for us. About: Hi there! We’re Katie & Dan, and we’d love to look after you dogs in our own home in Meppershall . We are very experienced owners and love all dogs. We live in a large detached house in Meppershall, with plenty of space and a secure & safe fenced back garden. We both work from home, so our schedule allows us to look after your dog/s during the day, for the evening or overnight stays, whilst you work, attend an appointment, have social occasions or go away on a trip. We have two medium size hounds who are Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens. Sonny is 5 and Clara is 18 months old. If you live local to Meppershall you may have seen us out walking them in the village & fields. They are extremely friendly & happy dogs who are happy to welcome furry friends into their space to hang out & play. We will only accept bookings after you’ve brought your dog/s round for a visit and have met us and our dogs , to make sure your dog/s are happy & comfortable here and get along ok with our two. We will include daily walks within your pets stay, either solo or group , depending on what’s best suited to your dog. We have lots of experience looking after dogs, both our own and friends & relatives . From puppies to senior dogs. Including looking after dogs with long term conditions such as diabetes and epilepsy, so we’re comfortable giving medications as directed if required. We will send you regular updates and photos/videos on your pet’s stay, so you can see they are happy & well cared for. Please get in touch if you have any questions We are available on weekdays for doggy daycare, except some Tuesdays. We can also offer weeknight dog sitting, and overnight stays. We have some weekend availability for both daytimes and overnight stays. We can have dogs for longer stays during your holiday with some advanced planning We will look after your dog/s as you would at home in their usual routine. Please give us instructions on all their liked & dislikes, feeding, medications, walking, play & exercise, sleeping routines and we will follow the same at our place. Sonny & Clara will be here to be best canine companions too and help them settle in.
“When searching four someone’s suitable to watch our two dogs, we had the choice of several sitters. Lucky for us Laura was prompt in her responses so we moved forward and met with her. After meeting Laura and her dog, we knew that’s where we would like our dogs to go because you can tell her love for her pets which we hoped would continue onto ours. She kept us up-to-date with the going on of our dogs with photos and texts, she was honest if there was an issue, and again, she was prompt with replies. As long as Laura continues to pet sit, we will be using her again.”
About: I have grown up with dogs and our wedding present from dad was a beautiful black lab. Family all love dogs and the open countryside. We have one dopey old lady lab who is shy but caring. Fully insured and will provide lots of fun, exercise and petting for your best friends. I have recently retired early so have plenty of time to walk and play with your dogs. I can brush throw sticks and just have fun with them. I occasionally go to the beach with my lab and they would be welcome to join in the splashing. Rest also good in our sunny fenced garden I have a large fenced garden overlooking quiet countryside. I can cage if they/you like for rest otherwise the ground floor home is all theirs to share.

Our 11 month old puppy Leo was eased in well to their household with a couple of visits prior to our weekend away, which was the first time he was away from all of us for more than a few hours. Leo gets on well with Watson and the two of them spending time together has been good for Leo’s confidence and assertiveness as he can be a little submissive with other dogs. I can honestly say that Katryzna was outstanding in looking after my elderly dog Bailey. I had total peace of mind in leaving him with her. She sent photos and updates daily. He was very chilled and relaxed and well cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending her. Total Star 🌟
My lab Bailey had an amazing stay with Florence. I was caught out last minute when my previous sitter cancelled. Florence got back to me super quick, and even made herself available for a meet and greet at the park before Bailey’s stay. Bail looked like he had the time of his life while I was away, Florence sent through some amazing photos and it was great to know he was having a ball. It’s always hard leaving your pup, but Florence genuinely made Bailey a part of the family, and he loved Bonzo’s company during his stay. Couldn’t recommend Florence highly enough, Bailey was so well looked after, and I’ve already booked him for my next trip away!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
