“This was Harvey’s third stay with Milla. He had a great time and I had a worry free time away. Milla understood that my dog is my baby and I really feel like she welcomed him into her home and her family.”

“A holiday is important to us all - but leaving your pet behind and worrying can be difficult. So we have to share our delight and gratitude to SUE A who put us and our Shiatsu WILLOW at ease from our first meet and greet. SUE shows most importantly that the services she provides for Dogs is a passion not just an income. Sue's own Dog Barney also makes the comfort and confidence needed to initiate a support service for our family holiday abroad much easier seeing Barney with a very calm and gentle character - WILLOW swiftly settled on the trial visit. SUE's set up is nicely accessible, lovely home too. Removing all those concerns and worry's that our Dog Sitter is that famous phrase 'SAFE HANDS', allowed our holiday to be stress free. Thank You SUE A - You were swift, communicative and we know WILLOW had her own fab holiday with you and Barney. YOU HAVE A GREAT BUSINESS/SERVICE - SO NICELY BALANCED WITH GOOD VALUE TOO. Keith, Nic, George & Willow 👍👍”

“Sonia C. looked after my dog, Wicket, over the Christmas period from the 17th to the 2nd and did a fantastic job. She was reliable, caring, and made sure Wicket was well looked after while I was away, which gave me real peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter, and I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“This is my 4th review, I included more detail previously, but at this point, I’d just say that, Lauren and Matt’s place is Brooklyn’s (my dog’s) second home. Simply the best!”

“Sarah took really good care of Joey, he was really happy when i saw him and full of energy, he’s also been a lot calmer since he’s come back and can’t thank her enough for looking after him as I know he can be a handful”

“Ted has another great stay with Alessia. Hes always very excited to see her and loves spending time with her. We always have regular updates and pictures on what Ted’s been up to and highly recommend Alessia.”

We have two medium size hounds who are Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens. Sonny is 5 and Clara is 18 months old. If you live local to Meppershall you may have seen us out walking them in the village & fields. They are extremely friendly & happy dogs who are happy to welcome new furry friends. “Chloe and her family took excellent care of Layla who had a wonderful time! Lots of long walks and cuddles, I know she settled in happily. Thank you for all the photo updates too. Will definitely rebook.”

“Wendy was absolutely fantastic from initial enquiry through to picking up my pup after the stay. She was informative and had loads of advice for me. Pup bonded with Wendy straight away and I felt at ease that she would be in a professionals hand. Wendy sent me regular updates with photos which also put my mind at ease that Pup was doing fine. This was the longest she would be away from me so didn’t know how she would behave with Wendy. When I went to pick her up she was excited to see me but I knew she had been well attended to as she went straight back into Wendy’s house! A fantastic host that I will most definitely be using again. Thank you Wendy!!!”

“We had a wonderful time away thanks to Natalie’s great care of Ronnie. We felt he had a little holiday too and we even received a lovely postcard from him as well as lots of other photos and texts. Ronnie has a sensitive stomach and Natalie listened very carefully to make sure he didn’t become unwell. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Natalie and we’d love it if Ronnie can stay again.”

“Great experience with Lisa and Andy, they took really good care of my 2 dogs and gave me updates and pictures whilst I was on holiday. Will definitely use them again, highly recommend 😊”

About: I’m an experienced dog owner and absolutely love spending time with dogs. I have my own Labrador, Billy, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your dog and treat them as part of the family. I’m based at home in the countryside, with plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring, so dogs in my care will get lots of exercise, attention and affection. I’m offering a range of services to suit different dogs and owners, and I’m happy to adapt to each dog’s individual routine, personality and needs, whether they’re energetic and playful or prefer a quieter pace. My aim is to provide a friendly, reliable and genuinely caring home-from-home experience where every dog feels comfortable, safe and well looked after. I’m at home full-time, so I’m able to give dogs plenty of company, attention and care throughout the day. I already take my Labrador, Billy, out for three walks every day, so dogs staying with me can enjoy plenty of regular exercise and fresh air too. I’m able to be flexible around each dog’s individual routine, including feeding times, walks, rest and any other requirements. My aim is to make their stay feel as close to their normal home routine as possible, while giving them lots of love, attention and companionship. I want every dog in my care to feel safe, comfortable and at home. I provide a calm, secure home environment with plenty of supervision, attention and companionship throughout the day. As I have my own Labrador, Billy, I also understand the importance of introducing dogs carefully and making sure they are comfortable together. Dogs will never be left unsupervised in situations where they may not be fully settled. I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely enjoy some time outdoors, as well as easy access to the surrounding countryside for plenty of walks and fresh air. I’m lucky to be in a lovely rural location, which provides lots of opportunities for dogs to explore.

“Aleks is absolutely amazing and am so pleased to have found someone to look after Obi whenever we are away. He was made to feel a part of their family and we received pictures and videos on a daily basis so I knew he was having a great time. Thank you so much, Obi will definitely be seeing you again soon! X”

“Mark and Katie were absolutely fantastic with our Whippet, Blue. From the start, we felt completely confident leaving her in their care. They’re warm, attentive, and clearly adore dogs, treating Blue like one of their own. We really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Blue had the best time and has become best friends with Watson — it’s so lovely to see how much she enjoys being with them! She came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Mark and Katie to anyone looking for amazing dog sitters.”

“Lozzie was so good with my girls. I’ve just moved to the area so was a bit anxious about a new sitter but Lozzie was reassuring me they’re behaving. One of mine is sensitive as we”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better home for Dottie while we were away for two weeks! She was absolutely spoiled with love, attention, treats, and plenty of walks. It was so clear that she was treated like one of the family, and she loved every minute of her stay. The couple were absolutely amazing with Dottie and such genuinely lovely people. They kept us updated throughout with lots of photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was so happy and well cared for. We came home to a very content and happy pup! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for caring, trustworthy dog sitters. Thank you both so much for taking such wonderful care of our girl! 🐾”

“Laura was brilliant with Lenny - don’t think he wanted to leave! We got updated pictures and let know how he was all the time. Always answered messages really quick and reassured me Lenny was ok! Definitely be booking again. Thank you :)”

Sophie was brilliant looking after coco for 6 nights. She sent us regular update and pictures while we were on holiday which assured us that coco was being well cared for. Coco came back very happy with her stay with Sophie. She was a amazing sitter & will definitely use Sophie again. Thank you Sophie. 👏👏👌👌👍

Joanne and her husband were absolutely lovely and took such great care of our dog for 4 nights while we were on holiday. She was treated like part of the family and had lots of lovely walks in the surrounding countryside. We appreciated the regular photos and updates, and Joanne was so flexible and accommodating throughout. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again!

I’m so grateful to Natalie for looking after Dexter. He can be quite anxious without his family around him, and Natalie treated him like one of her own. It was so lovely to receive photos and updates and put our minds at rest. She went above and beyond when we had a Home Emergency when we got home from our holiday by having him for an extra night at short notice. I thoroughly recommend, and will not hesitate to use again.

Chloe took our dog for a few hours while we were staying at nearby Center Parcs so we could eat out. She was very accommodating with a time change and sent us photos of him while in her care. He is a little nervous and so it was very reassuring that he settled, even though only with her and her family for a few hours.

I can honestly say that Katryzna was outstanding in looking after my elderly dog Bailey. I had total peace of mind in leaving him with her. She sent photos and updates daily. He was very chilled and relaxed and well cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending her. Total Star 🌟

My lab Bailey had an amazing stay with Florence. I was caught out last minute when my previous sitter cancelled. Florence got back to me super quick, and even made herself available for a meet and greet at the park before Bailey’s stay. Bail looked like he had the time of his life while I was away, Florence sent through some amazing photos and it was great to know he was having a ball. It’s always hard leaving your pup, but Florence genuinely made Bailey a part of the family, and he loved Bonzo’s company during his stay. Couldn’t recommend Florence highly enough, Bailey was so well looked after, and I’ve already booked him for my next trip away!

Charlotte and her family welcomed Talli into their home just as if they'd always known her. The regular picture updates gave us the confidence to know she'd settled in and wasn't stressing at all. We can highly recommend Charlotte and would have absolutely no hesitation in using her again.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
