“We couldn’t recommend Zsuzanna more! What a kind and caring sitter. We needed to drop Annie off earlier than planned and she was more than accommodating, felt instantly at ease which was perfect as we had a busy day and couldn’t check our phones. Seeing the updates later was lovely and Annie obviously had the best time playing games. She slept all afternoon when we got home, happy dog!”

“Shishir and Marion took great care of Alfie, from the start they saw I was anxious about leaving him with a strangers and did everything they could help reassure me, allowing me to schedule a few meetings and greets to get to know them and for them to get to know Alfie. Throughout my stay I got daily updates and pictures and felt constantly reassured he was happy whilst I was enjoying my holiday. I would book them again without a doubt and highly recommend them!”

“Miso stayed with Gabriella overnight while my husband and I attended a wedding and he seemed to have the best time ever! We had to find someone to dog sit quite last minute & Gabriella was so accommodating & we were able to have a quick meet up beforehand so miso could get comfortable (which he did VERY quickly 😂) I just want to say a massive thankyou, our boy had a great time being fussed over and meeting new people, I don’t actually think he wanted to leave with us afterwards!”

“Karen was just brilliant: super easy to make an arrangement with; efficient; friendly; perfect house and garden for a sitter: and most important my dog loved her. Highly recommended: 5 stars!”

“Our dog has had the most wonderful stay with Mehtap. I was updated with photos of their adventures and I could see my girl was happy and relaxed to be with Mehtap. She certainly made me and Deena feel reassured and I know she was made to feel like one of the family. I felt so confident that Deena was cared for so well, I have booked for Deena to stay another night the following week.”

“Michele was absolutely amazing with Lilo. I got lots of updates with pictures, on which i could see how happy and comfortable my cat was. We would definitely book with Michele again, highly recommend!”

“Would highly recommend Sohee. We had an excellent experience! Lots of updates and pictures which were so lovely. Our dogs were well looked after and her dog Winston was so calm and lovely. We would definitely be reaching out to Sohee again.”

“The absolute best dog sitter! She made us feel totally at ease straight away and gave us regular updates with photos of Rodney throughout his stay. We will definitely be using Holly again is she’ll have Rodney ❤️❤️”

“Elizabeth looked after my French bulldog Lily for four days and was amazing. I found her last minute, and she made me feel at ease straight away that Lily would be in good hands. She sent regular updates, took Lily on walks, and made sure she had plenty of fresh air in the garden. It was clear Lily was very well cared for. Thank you so much, Elizabeth!”

“It was re-assuring to see Heidi bond straight away with our young Bichon Frise Leia, when we dropped her off. It gave us the confidence to enjoy our few days away without worrying about Leia. While we were away we got daily updates from Heidi with photographs. When we got back Leia was relaxed....and clearly had come to terms with the changes in her young life. All good and we will ask Heidi to look after Leia again.”

“Jessica was absolutely lovely with Neo! She was so sweet and caring, kept me updated throughout the day, and sent me lovely photos of him. She was also super friendly and easy to communicate with. I felt really comfortable knowing Neo was in such good hands. I would definitely recommend Jessica and would happily have her look after Neo again! ❤️”

“Meg and her partner were brilliant with Mila over a couple of nights stay. Great pupdates and quick and clear communication. Mila would go back again for more belly rubs and cuddles.”

“Maggie is always well looked after with Emma. I always feel confident that she will be relaxed and happy. Emma always sends regular updates which is reassuring. Thanks again”

“Gigi was fantastic looking after Freddie. She made sure that everything was tailored to suit his needs. Gigi was full of love and care for Freddie and continually kept me updated with photos. Freddie loved spending time with Gigi and her son. He enjoyed the play, cuddles, walks and entertainment they provided. I felt comforted by the regular updates and Gigi adapting things for Freddie over the hot weather. Freddie enjoyed his 6 day holiday and I will definitely use Gigi again. Many thanks for the wonderful care you provided!”

“Olive had a lovely time staying with Roger. He was so welcoming and we had every confidence she would be taken care of in a very professional and thoughtful way. This is the first time I have left Olive with anyone other than family but my fears were allayed - Roger kept us fully informed throughout her stay and sent photo updates. I would highly recommend Roger as a first class dog sitter.”

“Ezra thoroughly enjoyed his stay with Mina, who quickly made him feel at home and treated him to some lovely walks. Mina also provided frequent updates, including pictures and videos, which really put our minds at ease.”

Karen is an amazing carer for our pup. She sends daily notes and photos sharing the adventures Oscar is enjoying with his holiday family. It was his birthday when we were away and we received a lovely video which made it seem special despite our absence. No hesitation to recommend.

Jessica was absolutely lovely with Neo! She was so sweet and caring, kept me updated throughout the day, and sent me lovely photos of him. She was also super friendly and easy to communicate with. I felt really comfortable knowing Neo was in such good hands. I would definitely recommend Jessica and would happily have her look after Neo again! ❤️

Lionel had a lovely time, with walks and socialising with other dogs. Declan and Abigail were in regular contact with videos and pictures, and helpful in terms of dropping off and picking up (including coming around to drop off Lionel's bed which I forgot to take back with me!) Would happily send Lionel for another stay.

We left our 10 month old Cocker Spaniel puppy Dolly with Michele for 9 days . We received daily pup updates and photos from Michele which were so reassuring as it was our first time leaving her to go on holiday . Dolly had a wonderful stay and was totally spoilt rotten ❤️ The one to one care Michele gave was fantastic , and she treated Dolly like her own pet which was so lovely to see. Dolly has returned home and very happy puppy .Thank you so much Michele, we shall see you again soon xx
Darcy's first stay with Ann and her family was a great success. She was very comfortable in their house and ate all her meals and slept well. Ann was very caring and diligent and kept us updated on how Darcy was settling in, also sending us photos of her in the garden looking happy and content, which was reassuring. We would not hesitate to use Ann again.

We were really anxious about who we would leave our older boy with while we were away on holiday, so much so that we met with several sitters before choosing Shishir and Marion. From the start, they were incredibly responsive and kept us updated throughout our trip with regular photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. He stayed with them during the heatwave, and they were very mindful of the high temperatures, adapting his walks and care to keep him comfortable and safe. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shishir and Marion to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter, and we would happily book with them again.

Looked after our Bluebell for 4 nights. First time for her staying at someone’s house that isn’t a family member or close friend and she was very well looked after. Was hot days so was walked in mornings and evenings and Bluebell looked very happy on all the photos we were sent!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
