“Shishir and Marion took great care of Alfie, from the start they saw I was anxious about leaving him with a strangers and did everything they could help reassure me, allowing me to schedule a few meetings and greets to get to know them and for them to get to know Alfie. Throughout my stay I got daily updates and pictures and felt constantly reassured he was happy whilst I was enjoying my holiday. I would book them again without a doubt and highly recommend them!”

“Karen was absolutely amazing with our cocker spaniel, Pluto! From the moment we dropped him off, we could tell he was in great hands. She is incredibly methodical and organized—she had the entire day planned out thoughtfully, which gave us so much peace of mind. Throughout the day, Karen kept us updated with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. Pluto enjoyed plenty of walks and attention, and when we picked him up he was relaxed, happy, and clearly very well cared for. It’s obvious that Karen truly loves what she does and goes above and beyond for the pets she looks after. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Wow! What’s a wonderful, kind and generous person. We are so lucky to have found you. Alfie has been looked after so well I think he is sad to have come home. I’m sure he will drag me to your house the next time we go for a walk. The photos and little messages are so reassuring. We would definitely recommend you to any potential doggy parents. Absolutely perfect 🤩 I would give more stars if I could! XX”

“We couldn't be happier with Elizabeth's care for our dog, Charlie! Over the 5 days we were away, she was incredibly communicative and responsive. We always knew exactly how things were going, and she sent so many wonderful photos that genuinely put our minds at ease. She was gentle and kind from the very start, and her accommodating nature made the whole experience completely stress-free for us. It was clear Charlie was in loving, capable hands the entire time. Elizabeth is without a doubt a great dog sitter, and we will absolutely book with her again. We recommend her without any hesitation! 🐾♥️”

“Michele always takes the most wonderful care of our pup Rizzo and Rizzo is always so excited to see her! It's so great to be able to leave Rizzo with Michele and know that she is having a lovely time. Michele always plans lots of walks and things to do with Rizzo and sends us lots of updates, and we have complete peace of mind when Rizzo is there. Thank you Michele!”

“Chloe looked after our cocker Link for two nights. Looks like he had a lovely time with lots of great walks and fuss. Chloe made sure to keep us updated and we had every confidence that Link was in good hands. We'd definitely recommend Chloe and I'm sure Link will be visiting again 😊”

“Holly and Elliot were amazing! We had an emergency last minute need for our 5-month old puppy, Hazel, to be dog sat over the weekend, and they responded so quickly and helpfully! Hazel was wonderfully cared for, so much so that we had to convince her to come home with us again… We were kept updated with pictures and information and they were responding within minutes to us. We will definitely use them again!”

“The boys loved their time here and Peter and his lovely wife were so friendly and welcoming and very attentive to the boys needs and quirks! Thank you Peter! Highly recommend and we will be a returning customer for sure 😄”

“Ethan was fantastic from the initial communications all the way through to the end of Daphne’s stay. Ethan catered to all our requirements and gave lots of lovely updates to let me know how she was getting on. Daphne was clearly well looked after and loved so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.”

“Mina took care of our spring/collie cross 4yr old over three days. A good summary is our dog did not want to leave! Mina was absolutely lovely with her throughout. Very professional and affectionate towards our dog. Plenty of exercise with quality walks and fantastic communication throughout the stay. Couldn’t ask for more and would definitely recommend.”

“Mica was fantastic from the first message to pick up. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ezra thoroughly enjoyed his time with Mica who took such great care of him and provided regular photos and updates to put our minds at ease. Will definitely be using Mica again and would recommend her to anyone seeking a sitter.”

“Ellie is absolutely amazing. Her communication, understanding, care and kindness is unmatched. She sent me lots of pupdates throughout the day and made me and Barney feel so comfortable about him being away from me for the first time. Will definitely book with Ellie again 🧡”

“All went well. I was very anxious leaving Snoopy with a new person. Robin took charge and all went well. Robin kept me posted. I definitely want to use Robin again....that's if he will take on Snoopy again. Thank you. A great service.”

“Amy and her family took amazing care of our little Yorkie Baxter. It was the first time we had left him with anyone apart from family so we were a bit nervous about leaving him but we were quickly reassured by Amy’s regular updates and pictures. Baxter had a great time and I would highly recommend Amy to anyone. Thanks so much 💕”

“Megan was absolutely amazing with our little lad, Winston! Kept up to date with pictures and her communication was on point! We had a last minute booking as we had a wedding to go to and she was more than happy to accommodate. He was absolutely spoilt rotten with his walks and cuddles and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Megan, her partner and family (special mention to them) were treating him as if he were their own, so much so I think Winston would’ve been happy to stay longer! We would be happy to have them look after him again 😊 thank you so much from us and Winston 🐶”

As always Mabel was deliriously happy to spend time with Wolfie and family, just a day trip today but Mabel, our Cocker, was totally relaxed through the evening when back at home. I haven’t told Mabel she is staying with them next week as she will be far too excited until then 🤣🤣

Kobe had a wonderful stay with Gareth. I would highly recommend him – it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Gareth took the time to learn about Kobe before his stay and cared for him so well throughout the weekend. We received lots of updates and photos, which was really reassuring and lovely to see. Kobe had a great time and was so happy there. We would love to book with Gareth again in the future. He’s such a kind, caring person and clearly has a genuine interest in animals. Thank you, Gareth ☺️

Our miniature schnauzer, Eliza, looked like she had a great time with Abi and Declan. They sent daily videos of her enjoying her walks with the other dog. Long walks across the fields and paddling in a stream! She was absolutely exhausted when she got back to us which is a sign of a good holiday! 🐾 Thank you!

Shishir and Marion took great care of Alfie, from the start they saw I was anxious about leaving him with a strangers and did everything they could help reassure me, allowing me to schedule a few meetings and greets to get to know them and for them to get to know Alfie. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Denise and her family. Murphy stayed with them for the weekend and was so well looked after from start to finish. Denise kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to relax knowing Murphy was happy, comfortable, and having a great time. It was clear that Murphy was treated like one of the family and received plenty of love, attention, and care. The communication was excellent throughout, and Denise went above and beyond to make sure both Murphy and we felt at ease. We are incredibly grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Denise and her family to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter. Murphy can’t wait for his next stay!

Thank you to Robin and Helena for the brilliant care of our girl Hallie for the past 10 days. Through the many texts and videos we could see Hallie was happy and having her very own holiday with love, care and lovely water walks during the cooler hours of the heatwave. When Helena described Hallies obnoxious shedding as Hallie glitter, I knew she was in great hands!!

Olive had a lovely time staying with Roger. He was so welcoming and we had every confidence she would be taken care of in a very professional and thoughtful way. This is the first time I have left Olive with anyone other than family but my fears were allayed - Roger kept us fully informed throughout her stay and sent photo updates. I would highly recommend Roger as a first class dog sitter.

Trina was wonderful while taking care of our nervous Jack Russell and kept us updated the whole time. 😊 She has 3 lovely dogs of her own, and they all got along, making it a fun environment for my pup. I felt completely at ease and wouldn't hesitate to book again! Thank you so much 😊

Gigi was fantastic looking after Freddie. She made sure that everything was tailored to suit his needs. Gigi was full of love and care for Freddie and continually kept me updated with photos. Freddie loved spending time with Gigi and her son. He enjoyed the play, cuddles, walks and entertainment they provided. I felt comforted by the regular updates and Gigi adapting things for Freddie over the hot weather. Freddie enjoyed his 6 day holiday and I will definitely use Gigi again. Many thanks for the wonderful care you provided!

We would recommend Peter to anyone considering a pet sitter - we really appreciated all of the updates and pictures during her stay. Thank you so much for the care and love you gave to Harley! Particularly during the heat, she enjoyed the paddling, she’s had the best time. We will see you again in the summer!

Jennie is so good with my pets. We are in the middle of moving and the house is chaotic as a result the pets have been stressed. Jennie watched my dog and cat for a week and they were so calm and happy when I picked them up. I have a very large dog and she knows how to manage him. I would definitely recommend her to someone looking for a pet sitter.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
