“Couldn't have asked for a more attentive and loving dog sitter. Karine welcomed our dogs over a weekend and by the end of the weekend they looked incredibly comfortable. I appreciated the update videos too. Definitely recommend Karine to others. Thank you 😊”

“Beth is great 😊 We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! They went above and beyond in every way, making sure our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while we were away. We received regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear that our dog was treated with genuine love and attention, not just looked after. We came home to a happy, relaxed tyao. and we couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Thank you for everything!”

“Ale and her family took care of Lando as one of their own. She sent us pictures multiple times a day and provided feedback. A special fact about Alejandra that we appreciate is that she’s bilingual (Spanish/English) and that aspect facilitated our communication and understanding. We are looking forward to working with Alejandra and her family again!”

“Anna is a responsive, reliable and effective dog sitter - we had complete confidence in her over the 10 days we were away. She provided regular updates and attentive care for our dog, that suffers from some separation anxiety. Recommended.”

About: I have always had cats, no dogs as I was working full time. I now own a Cavichon/Beagle as I work part time. I used to volunteer dog socialising up until COVID, but we had to stop then. So I started dog sitting and now sit for 2 Whippets, an Australian Labradoodle, a Boston Terrier and a miniature Dashund. I also walked a Vet students Cockapoo for a year. I am mad about dogs. I lost my two elderly cats. So now I only have my dog, who is very laid back. I am now retired so free to walk and Dog sit Mondays to Fridays, Also some weekend availability. I absolutely love dogs and love walking them. I would take great care of your dog and love playing with them too. I have a secure fenced back garden and access to plenty of parks within 15 minutes walk of my house. I am happy to take dogs in my car if they are used to cars. I just love caring for dogs. I am now retired so I can take bookings Monday to Friday so I will have plenty of time to play and walk your dog. I have a secure back garden and a pet friendly house, pets are allowed on my furniture. If I walk your dog I will keep on a lead, and if I am in your home keep all exits secured.
“Ovgu was absolutely brilliant with our puppy and he had a genuinely brilliant time with her over the five days we were away. She was incredibly communicative, tended to his needs as if he was her dog and took him on lovely walks. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you so much!”

“Dougal recently stayed with Anely and her family for a few days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Anely kept me updated regularly, which I truly appreciated—it was so reassuring to know that Dougal was enjoying his time with her little dog, Brownie, and bonding with Anely's family. It's clear Dougal has grown very attached to her, which is incredibly comforting. Knowing he's comfortable, happy, and in such safe hands allows me to fully relax when he's with her. Highly recommend!”

“Jeyda was the perfect host from the start. She even met me beforehand to meet my puppy to put me at ease. My puppy was looked after so well, taken on daily walks and excursions and on top Jeyda kept me updated through a video and photo diary daily. I fully recommend Jeyda as she very clearly knows how to connect and look after pets!”

“Claudette is very friendly and you can tell she loves dogs. Great communication to keep us aware of what Milo was up to and flexible in changing timings as requirements change. Milo had a great time with Claudette.”

“Julian is just a thoroughly nice guy and has a gift for understanding dogs. He looked after my dog, who is quite an anxious chorkie, and he was so good with her. She loved the long walks, play and treats and he even bathed her (she’s no picnic to bathe!) when she got covered in mud in Hadley Wood. He managed to gain her trust and she ended up absolutely adoring him. I cannot recommend Julian highly enough. He is definitely a dog lover and was very skilled at reassuring my anxious doggie. He was extremely responsible and reliable and sent regular photos and updates which really helped me to relax on hols knowing she was in good hands. If Julian will have her back, I would definitely book him again. Thank you Julian!!”

“Begona looked after my dog Nancy for 5 days, Nancy is an anxious dog but she settled really quickly at Begona's house. Begona is competent and calm making it the perfect environment for her. Her dog, Rango, has a lovely calm personality making him the perfect companion. Thank you!”

Nikoleta looked after my dog Lila while we were away on holiday. I was anxious to leave Lila but she was in good hands! Nikoleta kept in touch with me and sent pictures of Lila too which I really appreciated! Highly recommend Nikoleta, she’s great with dogs and I would definitely book again!😊

My little dog Gnocchi was truly taken care off and enjoyed he’s two night stay with Theresa and her family. I was sent photos and updates throughout he’s stay. When I had come to collect him he was happy, calm and with a waggling tail. I highly recommend for anyone worried to leave there little dogs!

This was my first time using Rover. One I contacted Valeria, who came highly recommended, she was very helpful and guided me through the process. Throughout the time my dog was in her care she sent frequent updates and pictures, putting me at my ease. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you Valeria!

Alejandra and her family took wonderful care of our dog, Nora! She checked in regularly with videos and pictures which made it easy for us to tell that Nora was having a great time and was well taken care of. Their dog is wonderful and it was pretty smooth for her and Nora to get along. We will definitely be boarding Nora with Alejandra again!

We had a wonderful experience with Carmen and Eva while our dog, Poppy, was staying with them. They were incredibly caring and attentive, and it was clear that Poppy was happy and well looked after the entire time. What really stood out was how regularly they kept us updated with photos and messages about what Poppy was up to. This was so reassuring for me, and it also really helped my son, who was missing her a lot. Seeing her enjoying her walks and settling in so well made a huge difference. They always made sure to keep us informed whenever needed and were very responsive and thoughtful throughout. Poppy was taken on lovely walks and clearly received plenty of attention and care. I would highly recommend Carmen and Eva to anyone looking for trustworthy and loving dog sitters.

Andrew is such an amazing find for us and Evie, we were able to enjoy our holiday away knowing our Evie was in superb care. Andrew kept us upto date with lovely photos of Evie's stay, she was well looked after and loved so much so she's missing him while now back home with us lol! Can't recommend Andrew enough. Thank you for caring for our Evie. Amazing!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
