“Another happy sleepover for our Boy Byron. Who loves staying with Owen and Renata and their Dog Pepsi (and any of the other dogs that might also be staying over too) He loves the time spent there socialising with other dogs and receiving such love and care from Owen and Renata. He is always so happy with them, it makes us feel calm knowing he is in such great hands. 5 star couple 5 star dog sitting service.”

“Liu so kindly accepted a last-minute same day booking request to look after Katsu. She provided plenty of updates throughout the stay and it looked like Katsu had a great time. Would recommend!”

“This is one of the many times we’ve left our dogs with Anke, her husband Dennis, and their lovely daughter. We always feel completely at ease when they’re looking after our dogs, and the dogs absolutely adore the whole family. They are so well cared for and truly welcomed as part of the family. They were only meant to stay for a couple of hours, but last-minute travel delays meant Anke kindly allowed Wagyu and Matcha to stay until the morning, which we really appreciated. The regular updates are always a huge plus especially as worried dog owners and Anke and Dennis never fail to keep us informed, so we never have to worry.”

“Tuan was amazing sitter for my little Arlo, loads of pictures and updates everyday. He has come home very happy and looks forward to spending the week at the end of the month.”

“Daniel and Yoojin took wonderful care of coco. It was the first time we’d left him with someone else (in the past we’ve had sitters stay at ours), so we were naturally a little nervous, but they were incredibly patient and caring throughout. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Throughout our trip, we felt completely at ease knowing coco was in such great hands. The regular updates and photos were reassuring, and it was clear that coco was happy and well looked after. Dan and Yoojin went above and beyond and we can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking for incredibly caring pet sitters.”

“Billie had a great time. Sarah Jane was very accommodating and let me know how Billie was getting on during the day. I will definitely ask her to look after Billie again. Thank you”

“Paco feels right at home with Andrea! He’s stayed with her multiple times, and she totally gets his needs, giving him amazing care every time. It’s such a relief knowing he’s with someone so caring and attentive. Couldn’t recommend her more to anyone looking for a reliable, loving dog sitter!”

“Mayra took fantastic care of my corgi while I was travelling. She was very communciative and sent many updates and photos of how he was doing, and he had a great time with her two pugs, too. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for boarding - thanks again, Mayra!”

“This was our second boarding experience with Fernando and Morne and we couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters! They took exceptional care of our Shih Tzu and truly treated him like one of their own. It’s clear they are genuine dog lovers—their own dogs, Kiki and Bailey, are incredibly friendly, and our dog absolutely loved spending time with them, especially in their garden. Communication throughout was spotless and highly organised. We received regular updates and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was so reassuring to know he was happy, comfortable, and being so well looked after in our absence. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitters!”

“Kerry has looked after Barney a few times now, and he always comes back cheerful and tuckered out (due to lots of walks and play time)! Kerry follows our wishes exactly and sends us loads of updates and photos, which we really appreciate ❤️ Barney will definitely be going back!”

“Styx had a fantastic time with Olivia and her partner (and little Babka!). I got plenty of updates about what she was up to, and am really confident that my care instructions were followed and that Styx had a safe, comfortable and fun time during her week away. Highly recommended and I'd definitely ask Olivia again next time I need dogsitting.”

“Jennifer is amazing. This is the second time I have used Jennifer, and she is as lovely and accommodating as the first time. I had regular updates and photos, she took my boy on trips to the park despite having a lovely garden and could see that she made him feel at home. Thank you, would definitely recommend and use in future,”

“Ely and his family were a pleasue to deal with from the first email contact and my initial recon visit confirmed my thoughts, that this would be a good safe stopover for our MInature Schnauzer Baily. Anke and her husband were absolutely wonderful with Roary. From the beginning, communication was excellent and they followed all of his feeding instructions and routine with great care. We received plenty of photos, videos and updates throughout his stay, which really put our minds at ease. Roary looked so happy and comfortable, and it was lovely to see him enjoying himself and socialising with the other dogs. It was clear that he was treated with so much care and affection. Leaving Roary is never easy for us, but Anke and her husband made the whole experience so much easier. We would absolutely trust them with Roary again and wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay. Thank you both so much for taking such wonderful care of Roary! ❤️🐾

Matilde looked after CoCo for the bank holiday weekend , Matilde was absolutely fantastic! Meeting beforehand really helped ease my anxiety, and she was professional, polite and incredibly reassuring throughout. She asked all the right questions about medication, feeding, and any specific needs, and kept me regularly updated during the stay. A lovely, safe environment where you can leave your dog completely stress-free. Highly recommend, will defo book again x ❤️🐶

I Literally can not thank these Ladies enough, My koba loved staying here for week, he settled so well and was looked after amazingly. Adonia kept me informed regularly about how he was doing. You could just tell how much he loved staying with these ladies. Thank you so much 😊

Leunta, is a wonderful kind and caring host who gave Mollie and Mabel a lot of love, care and attention for their weekend stay.. Leunta provided regular updates (pics and videos), made good friends with Leo and went out for walks in the park. I would defintiely use Leunta's services again. Thankyou

Holly was brilliant from the very beginning. She met our dogs in the park before booking, which gave them reassurance straight away and helped them feel comfortable. She was very easy‑going, patient, and answered every question we had. Her communication was excellent — always responding quickly and keeping us updated throughout the stay with daily photos, videos, and messages. She is incredibly reliable, and our dogs came home happy, confident, and clearly very well cared for. She even took extra care of our little one who unexpectedly came into season during her stay, which we really appreciated. Holly went above and beyond by helping us unload and load all the dogs’ belongings — such a thoughtful touch. Her dog Ruby must have been a lovely influence too; our two definitely enjoyed being around her. We would absolutely recommend Holly and will definitely be returning. Thank you again for everything, Holly — you were amazing.

Jeanett has been amazing with Ivy. She looked after her for over two weeks while we were on holiday and kept us updated throughout with lots of photos and videos. It was wonderful to see Ivy having so much fun, especially playing with Jeanett’s dog, Argos, they became great friends! Jeanett took Ivy everywhere she went, and it was clear that Ivy was treated like part of the family. We felt completely at ease knowing she was so well cared for and truly felt at home. We would highly recommend Jeanett to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be leaving Ivy with her again very soon.

Upasna and her partner were both amazing. I’m often very nervous about leaving Luna with strangers but they did everything to help ease my mind while away. Frequent photo and video updates, multiple times a day, and very responsive to messages. Highly recommended, they were great!

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after my dog for 10 days. Oscar was exceptionally well cared for from start to finish. He has an eye condition that requires treatment three times a day, and she followed his medication routine perfectly, giving me complete peace of mind. She also made sure he had plenty of walks, attention, and affection every day. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him as if he were her own. I really appreciated the updates and knowing he was happy and safe while I was away. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Oscar – I will definitely book with you again!🤗

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
