“Jasper had a great time on his holiday. We were kept up to date with what he was doing and she posted regular photos for us to see. I would have no problem recommending her services to others.”

“Here’s a polished and corrected version of your review: --- Our puppy Harry is very small and still in training, but Fred kindly offered to look after him for two days. Fred is extremely friendly and flexible. He kept us updated with pictures of Harry, which really put our minds at ease. We never had to worry about our little pup while he was with Fred. Highly recommend!”

“Thank you so much, Amanda, for taking such great care of Miley! We needed a sitter quite urgently, and Amanda was available and incredibly helpful. Miley stayed for one night and truly felt at home. We really appreciated the regular photo and video updates—it gave us so much peace of mind. We’re very happy with the experience and will definitely reach out to Amanda again in the future!”

“Max had a fantastic time staying with Kevin, Denise and their lovely children for the week. He was given all the attention, exercise and time to play that he needed and is used to. We got regular updates, photos and videos that showed us how he was getting on and what he was up to which was really helpful. They were considerate to our instructions and wishes in regards to Max's routine and needs which was highly appreciated. All in all a very successful stay. Would definitely recommend! 😁👍”

“Natalia is amazing, I knew the moment I met her that she was the right person to take care of my dog, you can see she loves animals and she instantly bonded with Rowan. I had regular updates through pictures and when I collected my dog I could tell that she had been looked after. Should the need arise I will be using Natalia again. 🙂”

“We were very happy with the care Suki received while we were away. Petr and his family were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. He greeted us at the door, helped us carry Suki’s things upstairs, and showed us around the house before giving her time to settle in and explore. Throughout her stay, he kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated and gave us peace of mind while we were travelling. It was clear that Suki was well looked after, and we would definitely use his services again. Highly recommended.”

“Laura is absolutely amazing!! I could not fault her at all. The most sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever met who did an outstanding job and looking after Whiskey. She made sure she contacted me and sent me lots of pictures and videos. I will be using her again in the future for sure”

“Andrew was amazing! Our dog is not for everyone due to his hyper love of everyone and high energy levels. But all I got from Andrew was consistent positivity and lovely updates. He followed the same rules we have at home and made sure he knew was to expect. I’d always try him first for future dog sits. Absolutely amazing! Thanks so much!”

“Heather was an amazing support. I know Ivy was in safe hands and she came back tired which means she was busy, had lots of fun and made a fuss of. Heather was easy to communicate with which makes the whole progress so easy. Thank you!”

“I’m so grateful to have found Daria and to have someone I completely trust with my dog, Archie. From the moment we met, she put me at ease, she really understands dogs and knew exactly how to help Archie feel comfortable when he was a little nervous. She kept me updated every day with lovely photos and videos, which meant so much. Archie was so happy with her; he was safe, well cared for, and clearly relaxed and content. I honestly couldn’t recommend Daria more. Thank you so much for looking after Archie—I’ll definitely be booking with you again! xx”

“Liu was fantastic with Juno! She sent plenty of photos and videos throughout the stay, which really put my mind at ease. Juno looked happy and well cared for the entire time. Highly recommend.”

“Luna was nervous arriving (first daycare experience) but by the time we were leaving her she was running around happy and playing with the other dogs. Lots of puppies with good energy. Anke took great care and clearly loves looking after all the dogs. She also sent us some nice photos and videos of Luna having fun. Luna returned tired out and slept solidly for the rest of the evening.”

“Mauricio & his family looked after our two dogs for one night and we couldn’t be happier. We got lots of regular really lovely updates and pictures of them with their dog and kids. We don’t leave our dogs very often so always have to get a good feeling when leaving them and once we had a meeting prior to leaving them we instantly got a really nice feeling of a welcome family home. You and your doggies won’t be disappointed in leaving them with these guys. Really lovely & nice for us to know we have two sitters we’ve found now who can look after our pups :) Thanks again”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“Eliana has a beautiful family home that from the second I arrived, I knew it was the perfect place to leave my puppy, Oscar. Brilliant comms pre during and after and Oscar was extremely well looked after and has come home a very happy pup! 🐶 I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and I’ve been using Rover for some time and I’d say it’s the best sitter I’ve had. Thanks again and look forward to bringing Oscar over again.”

“Ely and his family were a pleasue to deal with from the first email contact and my initial recon visit confirmed my thoughts, that this would be a good safe stopover for our MInature Schnauzer Baily. It was all as expected, excellent. I would not hesitate bringing Bailey back another time and recommending to friends”

“Devon was amazing. He looked after Piper at the drop of a hat as I went into hospital to give birth to our son. Devon continued to keep us updated throughout our time in hospital and was very forgiving for the spontaneity of our requests! We will always continue to book Devon!! Thank you so much for looking after our girl! X”

This was the first time being away from my dog, I was understandably a bit nervous. I’m so glad I picked Mauricio. Max was like a member of the family. He was very well looked after, I truly appreciated the photo and video updates. He came home cleaned and smelling fresh too!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bilqees and her family were absolutely amazing with our dog Muni! From the very first meet and greet, we knew they would be the perfect family and home for him to stay with. Muni stayed with Bilqees and her family for six nights, and we received daily updates and photos, so we always knew how he was doing. It was clear that Muni felt completely at home, and we knew he was being loved and well looked after. 🥰 Bilqees made us feel so at ease and gave us complete confidence that Muni was in the best hands. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and will definitely be returning. 🙂 Bilqees, thank you so much again for taking such wonderful care of Muni. We really appreciate everything you did for him. ❤️ x

Thank you Kevin, Denise and family for looking after Alfie for us for the week. From the photos, he certainly looks like he had fun! He slept most of the day when he returned home and was happy to be home. We would certainly book again. We have nothing planned at the moment. We hope you have a lovely Summer. Best wishes Tina, Paul & Alfie.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
