“We can always relax when Thomas is with Kevin and his family. We know he is in good hands and will have lots of fun. The children love him even though he steals their teddies. 😂 on this occasion Thomas stayed overnight and came home a very happy boy. The children had also drawn some lovely pictures which was a lovely surprise when we unpacked his overnight bag. A huge thank you for taking such great care of Thomas. We would highly recommend Kevin to anyone looking for someone to take great care of their furry family members.”

“Natalia and her partner were a very big help with my new puppy. She provided a great service and took very good care of my pup with patience and regular updates and pictures. Thank you!”

“Here’s a polished and corrected version of your review: --- Our puppy Harry is very small and still in training, but Fred kindly offered to look after him for two days. Fred is extremely friendly and flexible. He kept us updated with pictures of Harry, which really put our minds at ease. We never had to worry about our little pup while he was with Fred. Highly recommend!”

“We left our dog, Monty, with Mauricio for a week while we were abroad and we couldn’t have asked for better care. He and the family treated Monty like part of the family and even celebrated his birthday while we were away, which was such a thoughtful touch. They bought him presents and made him a cake (made of chicken) and sent us photos and videos on the day so we didn’t feel like we were missing out too much. We were kept updated with regular messages and photos throughout the week, giving us complete peace of mind. Thank you, Mauricio, for taking such wonderful care of Monty, it looked as though he had a lovely time. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and use you again.”

“Sherlock has stayed with Arpana a few times over the past couple of weeks while we had lots of family visiting for a wedding. We’ve never really felt comfortable leaving Sherlock before, but after seeing Arpana’s profile and how much of a dog lover she is, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did. From the very first meeting, Sherlock took to Arpana and her family straight away. She kindly welcomed him into her home when we dropped him off, and it was clear how dog-friendly and welcoming the environment was. Each time we brought him back, he would pull eagerly on his lead and sniff his way right up to the door, excited to see them again. A big part of that is down to her children, who clearly adore dogs and were wonderful with Sherlock — he had the best time playing, especially with her daughter. He always came home tired out, but in the happiest way. Arpana kept in touch with regular updates, which was really reassuring for us as slightly anxious owners leaving our dog for the first time. She was also very patient with our many questions and flexible with timing, which we really appreciated. Overall, the experience has made us feel so much more comfortable about leaving Sherlock with a sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with her again — I don’t think Sherlock would forgive us if we didn’t!”

“Laura and Kevin are fantastic! This is the second time Huxley has stayed with them and he really enjoys it! Laura is very good and keeping me up to date on how Huxley is doing with plenty of photographs too. Huxley will of course stay with them again!”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“Thank you so much Anke for taking care of Winnie. Anke provided loads of updates and treated Winnie like she was a part of the family. Will definitely bring her back for another stay soon. X”

“It was our first time leaving Bentley, so we were naturally nervous. We met Wayne and he immediately put us at ease. From his lovely clean flat, his knowledge of how to look after dogs, and his cheery personality, we felt much happier. As promised, he sent pics and pupdates, and (thankfully) Bentley behaved himself 😉 We can't recommend Wayne highly enough. Thanks Wayne, much appreciated.”

“Clare looked after our dogs, Rocco and Lenny, for two weeks while we were away, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. From the very beginning, Clare took the time to really understand both dogs, their personalities, routines, and individual needs, which immediately gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear throughout their stay that she genuinely bonded with them and treated them with so much care and attention. We really appreciated her thoughtful approach and the reassurance of knowing they were in such capable hands while we were away. We would absolutely recommend Clare to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and we will definitely be using her services again the next time we travel.”

“Finn was looked after well by Jacqueline. It was easy to keep in touch with her while we were away and before. We received updates and would definitely use Jacqueline again.”

“Jess is lovely, she came and collected Cookie, sent videos and photos of her day with Cookie. Cookie came home very contented, if not a little exhausted by all the fun she had with Jess and her 3 dogs. Highly recommend”

“Ronnie and Lizet were amazing with my 7 month old pup. I had to book at short notice when my son was unwell and we became super busy with a house move. It was my first time boarding my pup as well as using this app so I had to be super brave but I was very lucky in finding this family. They were very reassuring when we met them for the first time and more importantly, my pup who can get quite nervous with new surroundings, took to them immediately( dogs and kids have the best people instinct so that was reassuring!) Ronnie and Lizet sent me regular updates and photos/videos and were receptive, confident understanding and very welcoming, so I knew my pup was in safe hands while I took care of other things. They also instantly agreed to extend by a few hours from our original agreement when I needed the extra time and provided a pick-up and drop off service. My dog came back safe and happy. I recommend them. All wags ✅”

“Lea & Lucas were so good with chocos care througout the stay.Even I made a special request to do a late pickup as my flight was running 1hr late and they were happy to oblidge. Also post stay we had a detailed followup call where again they explained how his stay was, overall health and also they weighed choco before he left their home to check everything was ok. Lucas and lea also provided timely eye drops and a special request administered his flea treatment also. we were always getting wonderful photos and videos throughout chocos stay. I am always looking to find time in their busy calendar to book choco again😅. After the wonderful stay choco had with them Choco will be happy to go again soon . If I can rate his stay it will be 6/5 , unfortunately app doesnt allow me to add bonus stars 🌟”

“What a lovely lady. We arranged a pre stay visit to see if Wilson was compatible with Wendy. He took to her straight away which set my mind at ease. He stayed with her her for three weeks with no problems. I could tell from the regular updates and photos he was enjoying his stay there. She has a great house and garden plus a park in close proximity. I highly recommend Wendy as I will be choosing her again if and when the need arises.”

“Such a lovely guy, looked after my 2 dogs so well, sent lots of updates and they seemed so happy and comfortable with him and enjoyed the company of his dogs too, I think they had a better holiday then me 🤭”

“Jemma was absolutely great with my dog Lola! I struggle leaving Lola but Jemma made Lola feel right at home and really cared for her like her own. Jemma sent regular updates over the weekend which was great for us too. Lola had the best time and really looked like she did not want to come home. I would 100% recommend Jemma to anyone and would definitely trust her with Lola again. Thank you so much! X”

This was the first time being away from my dog, I was understandably a bit nervous. I’m so glad I picked Mauricio. Max was like a member of the family. He was very well looked after, I truly appreciated the photo and video updates. He came home cleaned and smelling fresh too!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bilqees and her family were absolutely amazing with our dog Muni! From the very first meet and greet, we knew they would be the perfect family and home for him to stay with. Muni stayed with Bilqees and her family for six nights, and we received daily updates and photos, so we always knew how he was doing. It was clear that Muni felt completely at home, and we knew he was being loved and well looked after. 🥰 Bilqees made us feel so at ease and gave us complete confidence that Muni was in the best hands. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and will definitely be returning. 🙂 Bilqees, thank you so much again for taking such wonderful care of Muni. We really appreciate everything you did for him. ❤️ x

Thank you Kevin, Denise and family for looking after Alfie for us for the week. From the photos, he certainly looks like he had fun! He slept most of the day when he returned home and was happy to be home. We would certainly book again. We have nothing planned at the moment. We hope you have a lovely Summer. Best wishes Tina, Paul & Alfie.

Thank you so much, Amanda, for taking such great care of Miley! We needed a sitter quite urgently, and Amanda was available and incredibly helpful. Miley stayed for one night and truly felt at home. We really appreciated the regular photo and video updates—it gave us so much peace of mind. We’re very happy with the experience and will definitely reach out to Amanda again in the future!

I cannot thank Natalia enough for taking such good care of our crazy little dachshund Hank. Hank is an incredibly affectionate and needy little pup so it was important for us to find someone who was able to provide that level of care and Natalia was that person & more!!! She was so communicative throughout his stay, sending us pictures and giving us updates which was so so lovely 🥰 We would let Natalia have Hank again in a heartbeat and I know Hank would be most pleased about that too - he had a fabulous time! She also left us a little card containing a picture of Hank which made me and my partner tear up because of how sweet that was. Thank you so much Natalia, you exceeded all of our expectations 🥹🤍

Hannah is absolutely brilliant, she took excellent care boarding our dog Ronnie and could not have been better with updates and videos during that time ,she and her family were very attentive to our dog and played with him constantly and gave him plenty of mental stimulation (he's a very energetic dog ).Ronnie had a brilliant time there and loved his sleepover :D

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
