We got regular updates, photos and videos that showed us how he was getting on and what he was up to which was really helpful. “Sherlock has stayed with Arpana a few times over the past couple of weeks while we had lots of family visiting for a wedding. We’ve never really felt comfortable leaving Sherlock before, but after seeing Arpana’s profile and how much of a dog lover she is, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did. From the very first meeting, Sherlock took to Arpana and her family straight away. She kindly welcomed him into her home when we dropped him off, and it was clear how dog-friendly and welcoming the environment was. Each time we brought him back, he would pull eagerly on his lead and sniff his way right up to the door, excited to see them again. A big part of that is down to her children, who clearly adore dogs and were wonderful with Sherlock — he had the best time playing, especially with her daughter. He always came home tired out, but in the happiest way. Arpana kept in touch with regular updates, which was really reassuring for us as slightly anxious owners leaving our dog for the first time. She was also very patient with our many questions and flexible with timing, which we really appreciated. Overall, the experience has made us feel so much more comfortable about leaving Sherlock with a sitter. This was the first time being away from my dog, I was understandably a bit nervous. I’m so glad I picked Mauricio. Max was like a member of the family. He was very well looked after, I truly appreciated the photo and video updates. He came home cleaned and smelling fresh too!

From the very first meet and greet, we knew they would be the perfect family and home for him to stay with. Muni stayed with Bilqees and her family for six nights, and we received daily updates and photos, so we always knew how he was doing. It was clear that Muni felt completely at home, and we knew he was being loved and well looked after. 🥰 Bilqees made us feel so at ease and gave us complete confidence that Muni was in the best hands. I cannot thank Natalia enough for taking such good care of our crazy little dachshund Hank. Hank is an incredibly affectionate and needy little pup so it was important for us to find someone who was able to provide that level of care and Natalia was that person & more!!! She was so communicative throughout his stay, sending us pictures and giving us updates which was so so lovely 🥰 We would let Natalia have Hank again in a heartbeat and I know Hank would be most pleased about that too - he had a fabulous time! If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
