“Daisy had an absolutely amazing time staying with Dongmei and Thomas. From Dongmei's regular and lovely updates inc photos, we could tell how much attention and love was being given to Daisy. It was also clear how much Dongmei cares about making sure Daisy's needs are met and went above and beyond to understand any routine and to keep her entertained. She was also very patient and understanding when Daisy was a bit unsettled at bedtime with her first night away there. Overall, very happy and know Daisy will love her next stay with them again. Thanks so so much Dongmei and Thomas! 😊”

“Andrea looked after our dog Fir overnight while we attended our daughter's wedding. This was the first time we'd left him overnight, but he bonded with Andrea straight away and she kept us posted with pictures and updates so we weren't worried. Andrea is a top dog sitter and we would definitely use her again.”

“Heather was an amazing support. I know Ivy was in safe hands and she came back tired which means she was busy, had lots of fun and made a fuss of. Heather was easy to communicate with which makes the whole progress so easy. Thank you!”

About: Took care of family lab for 3 years, walking him 3 times a day in the local park. Occasionally house sit family and friends who have cats and dogs. I’m a PhD student living with my partner in our late 20s, currently working from home. Available during weekdays and weekends. We are able to take them on walks at least 2 times a day, and feed them according to their needs. Have access to a park 30 seconds away and 2 minutes away from the riverside. Currently do not have pets of our own but love taking care of our family dogs and cats.
“Simba was extremely well cared for by Anke and her family. We received regular videos and photos, which really reassured us, and it was clear he had a fantastic time with them. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Anke again and highly recommend her.”

“Daniel and Brian were amazing with my Rocket! I really appreciated the updates with photos and videos. I think Rocket enjoyed his vacation with them as he was happy to see them again. Will definitely consider them again. Thanks!”

“Erika and her family were wonderful! My dog settled in straight away and received so much love and attention. I really appreciated the regular picture updates over the couple of days he stayed. I would highly recommend Erika and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

“Rahul and Ash are brilliant. They take the time to really get to know each dog and they made sure my dog Cookie felt comfortable. They are very knowledgeable about dogs and attentive to each dogs needs. They are very friendly and very accommodating with my schedule. I feel at ease leaving Cookie with them.”

“I needed a dog sitter at very short notice and was a little nervous because it was Matty's first time staying somewhere else. He also has separation anxiety and so it was very important for me to find someone who wouldn't leave him alone and I could rely on someone always being with him. Ronnie and her family looked after Matty very lovingly, as if he was their own dog. A big bonus was the garden where Matty could run around and play. I received daily updates with photos and videos.”

“Upasna was amazing with my little Yorkshire Terrier. She took great care of him and send regular updates. I would 100% be happy to leave him with her again and would recommend her to everyone!”

“I can't recommend Jeanett highly enough! She was absolutely amazing with my dog, Lucy. From the moment we met, I could tell she had a genuine love for animals and a professional approach to pet care. Every day, she provided me with detailed updates on how Lucy was doing, including pictures and videos, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. Lucy was happy, well-exercised, and clearly very well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, Jeanett is the best choice.”

“Danzhen took really good care of Toki. Toki was pleased to see me when I went to pick her up but not too pleased! She came back happy, relaxed and had obviously enjoyed her time. I received regular updates and i was confident throughout that Toki was in good hands. I would definitely use Danzhen again.”

“Lola had the best time with Arron! She was so clearly very well looked after. I was provided with regular updates letting me know that Lola was okay. She settled in so quickly which shows how well she was cared for! I would highly recommend Arron to anyone needing a pet sitter ⭐️ communication was easy and quick, very flexible and accommodating. Thanks so much!!!”

“Bertie was well looked after & enjoyed his time with Harini over Christmas. We had regular updates which kept us informed so we could enjoy our holiday. We will definitely book her again.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life - I grew up with a British Shorthair from age 5, and have also had a parrot, hamster, and rabbit over the years. More recently I’ve been the go-to person for friends’ cats (including Maine Coons, Ragdolls) and small dogs when they’re away. I work in finance and am mostly remote, so your pet gets consistent company and attention throughout the day rather than being left alone. I’m in a spacious flat with no other pets or children - calm, clean, and easy to settle into. I’m also an active runner, so if you have an energetic dog, they’ll be well exercised. I provide regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Special rates are available for longer stays. For boarding, I only accept multiple pets when they come from the same household. I work mostly remotely, so your pet gets consistent company throughout the day. I can be quite flexible around pick-ups and drop-offs - just reach out! I live in a spacious, tidy flat with a balcony that stays closed during visits. No kids, no other pets. Your pets are welcome on the sofa - make yourself at home! I do have stainless steel bowls, water fountain, cat litter box and scratching post available but you’re welcome to bring your own if preferred!
“Patricija was absolutely amazing! Sparky our chihuahua, was really well cared for and looked after. We really appreciated the regular updates and pics too! Sparky seemed like he had a lovely few days and I would definitely recommend Patricija if you are looking for someone to care for your fur baby. Thanks again!”

“Barney had the most wonderful stay with Fernando and Morné for just over a week. From the very beginning they made us feel confident that he was in safe, caring hands. They were communicative throughout the stay, sending multiple photo and video updates every day along with thoughtful written messages about how Barney was getting on, which we really appreciated. It was clear from the updates that Barney was having an absolute blast. He spent lots of time on walks and enjoyed running around their safe local dog area, enthusiastically chasing and playing with their lovely young dog Bailey. It was also very sweet to see Kiki patiently tolerating the chaos! The photos they sent were fantastic — some of the best pictures we’ve ever had of Barney — and really showed how happy and relaxed he was. Fernando and Morné were also wonderfully thoughtful and accommodating with routines, feeding, and logistics around drop-off and pick-up, which made the whole experience completely stress-free for us. It’s not easy leaving your dog for over a week, but thanks to their constant updates and the obvious care they gave Barney, we never once worried. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and feel very lucky to have found such kind, attentive sitters. Barney came home happy, tired, and clearly missing his new best friend Bailey — which probably tells you everything you need to know!”

“Irina and her family took care of our Jack Russel puppy, Mooshdy over the weekend. Irina was amazing, kept us up to date with pictures and videos. Moosh had a great stay!”

Michael and his wife were lovely. Made me feel really comfortable with leaving my 3 babies. As they only normally go to friends. We met up before so that they could meet him and they liked him straight away. He had other dogs there when mine arrived all looked very happy. They all got on and seemed happy.Michael sent lots of pics and videos through there stay showing how they were going. We will definitely be using Michael again and can’t recommend enough

Leaving a loved one with a stranger is always nerve wrecking. However, the level of care Brigrid provided made it feel as though my dog had known her for years. Unfortunately, my dog had an allergy flare-up the day before we left and required several medications. Brigrid followed all instructions perfectly, provided daily updates, and even bought her a new toy after she destroyed her own. Her kindness and dedication gave us complete peace of mind, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again 😊

Upasna was brilliant with my toy poodle Coco for a three day stay! She treated him like her own, and I could tell he was very comfortable and happy in her home. He got lots of cuddles, playtime, and sunbathing, and Upasna sent me lots of lovely photos of him and was very welcoming! I would highly recommend her, and would trust her with my dog son any time in the future. Thanks Upasna!

I can barely put into words how grateful i am for the care provided by Lazhen. She was so friendly & accommodating and i immediately felt at ease, even during the booking process. She asked all the necessary questions and kept in contact with me the entire time she had Skylar during the weekend. She sent me loads of pics and gave me updates on how Skylar was doing, eating, drinking, playing and going on the walks. I’m so so happy and grateful. Skylar was well taken care of and we can’t wait to see you again.

Daniel, Brian, and their pup Ashford were wonderful. They are so friendly and caring, and Duke got along with Ashford swimmingly. They sent thoughtful, comprehensive updates along with lots of photos and videos, which made me feel completely reassured while I was away. You can tell they genuinely love animals and I’d wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, attentive, and trustworthy sitters for their pup.

Ruby looked after my King Charles Cavalier spaniel for 7 days. I could have not have been happier with the care that her and her partner provided for him. They treated him like their own, giving him his meds, comfy cushions, cuddles and walks with their own dog. Ruby gave me lots of lovely photo updates which was so reassuring. I hope they will have be able to look after him again another time. I would 100% recommend booking! :)

After using Devon for the first time to board our 4 year old PWD, we will ABSOLUTELY be calling upon him again in the future. Great updates over the stay where clearly lots of fun and attention was had. Our dog came back home calm, chilled and happy - the signs of a fun weekend away. Thank you Devon and all!

Dongmei and Thomas were lovely and very caring. They sent photos through our trip, which reassured us Selkie was having a great time. Selkie has been having problems with allergies and the attentive approach D&T took to understanding her needs reassured me I had picked the right sitters.

Sandra is an absolutely fantastic carer! She watched my dog, Bonny, for a week and I felt so comfortable with him in her hands. I loved receiving her daily updates and all the wonderful pictures she took of him having a blast. She even made sure he got extra-long walks to burn off his energy. Bonny seemed so happy with her, and I will definitely be booking her again. Five stars!
I cannot recommend Jimmy highly enough! Leaving your beloved pet behind while you're on holiday is never easy, but from the moment we dropped our dog off, we knew they were in the best possible hands. Throughout our vacation, we received regular updates, messages, and plenty of photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip. What impressed us most was the genuine love, care, and attention our dog received. It was clear that they weren't just being looked after—they were being completely pampered and treated like part of the family. Every picture showed a happy, relaxed, and content dog enjoying walks, playtime, cuddles, and all the attention they could wish for. The communication was exceptional, with timely updates that reassured us every step of the way. It was obvious that Jimmy genuinely cares about the wellbeing and happiness of every pet he looks after. In fact, I think our dog may have enjoyed their holiday more than we did! Since returning home, they've genuinely seemed to miss all the attention, affection, and fun they had during their stay. Thank you Jimmy for taking such wonderful care of our furry family member. We wouldn't hesitate to book again and would wholeheartedly recommend your services to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and professional dog boarder.

Andrea was brilliant and so lovely and caring with Crumble. He is definitely missing all the attention. Thank you for keeping him cool in the heatwave, and for sending us regular updates whilst we went away on holiday. This was the first time leaving him with a sitter and he loved it! We will he using Andrea again for sure!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
