“Heather was an amazing support. I know Ivy was in safe hands and she came back tired which means she was busy, had lots of fun and made a fuss of. Heather was easy to communicate with which makes the whole progress so easy. Thank you!”

“Left my slightly anxious dog Bailey, with Fernando and Morne for a week while I was on holiday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better care! They were extremely kind and attentive from the start, and their daily updates were not only reassuring but also creative and fun, they really made us smile each day. Bailey was taken on regular walks, practiced his commands, and it was clear that he was being well cared for and loved. When we picked him up, he was happy and healthy. I’m very grateful to Fernando and his family for looking after him so well and would happily leave him with them in the future☺️”

“Thomas and Helena were absolutely fantastic looking after my dog, Cookie, for 3 days and 2 nights. Before the stay, we met to discuss Cookie’s care routine and make sure everyone was a good fit, which immediately gave me confidence. They were incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating of all of Cookie’s little quirks, taking the time to understand her personality and needs. It was clear they genuinely cared about making her feel comfortable and settled. Throughout the stay, I was kept updated & I felt reassured knowing Cookie was in such capable and caring hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Thomas and Helena to anyone looking for reliable, kind, and conscientious sitters, and I’d happily book with them again & hope to soon. Thank you both for taking such great care of Cookie!”

“Paco feels right at home with Andrea! He’s stayed with her multiple times, and she totally gets his needs, giving him amazing care every time. It’s such a relief knowing he’s with someone so caring and attentive. Couldn’t recommend her more to anyone looking for a reliable, loving dog sitter!”

“Malcom is super with our cavapoo cookie. She’s really happy to be there, settles quickly, enjoys long walks and gets plenty of activity and comes home happy. Malcolm also handles her medication needs easily. Really appreciate the communication throughout. Thank you v much !”
“Mayra took fantastic care of my corgi while I was travelling. She was very communciative and sent many updates and photos of how he was doing, and he had a great time with her two pugs, too. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for boarding - thanks again, Mayra!”

“Our dog Daphne had a great time when she stayed overnight at Jazz’s house. Lots of walks and attention, she came home exhausted and happy. Jazz walks Daphne every week and Daphne is always excited to see her.”

“Luisa was amazing with our puppy. He got spoilt rotten with loads of walks and cuddles. She even hand fed him when he was being difficult with his food! He has come happy as ever can be. I would recommend Luisa, so much so that we will be regulars!”

“Gwen stayed with Roxanne for a sleepover and had the best time. It was our first time using an over night service, and Roxanne made it so easy and stress free. We met up first, where Roxanne asked questions and got to know Gwen and her quirks. It was a very hot during her stay, but Gwen was kept cool with ice cubes, and even taken to the beach to cool off on the sand. We received photos and updates throughout and we can’t recommend Roxanne enough ❤️”

“Mollie had such a great time with Ieva, Matteo and their lovely dog Toto, I don't think she wanted to come home! Lots of lovely photos throughout the day and she was very well looked after. I would have given 7 stars if I could!”

“Louis had a great stay with Joel and came back his normal happy self! Joel kept us updated on Louis’ stay and sent photos of him - just chilling as he normally does! Would definitely recommend Joel, and wouldn’t hesitate to re-book. Thank you.”

“It was the first time we parted with our 6-month-old Jack Russell puppy, and Ruth has been nothing but the most wonderful help. They not only took care of Rodger but also have been incredibly understanding and patient with him. They updated us consistently on how he was doing and helped him socialise more with other dogs for the first time. We immediately realised that they are kind people and know what they are doing ❤️⭐️ Our puppy Rodger made many friends and will definitely be back, if only for some more socialisation. Thank you! 🦮🐕🦺”

“Feiran is an amazing sitter and took above and beyond care for my dog! He was showered with love and attention and I was kept fully updated on how he was doing. I’m so pleased I chose her to look after my dog. I’m sure he will be super excited to go back for an additional 9 nights when I go away and I have so much peace of mind that he’ll be given above and beyond care. Thanks so much Feiran!!”

“Kuma stayed at their home for 2 weeks while I traveled away to see family. It was the most lovely experience, and Kuma gets along with their dog Ashford really well. I received many videos and updates every single day, and it made my holiday so much more enjoyable to wake up to many pictures and a story about their day together - they really do go above and beyond, and they took care of Kuma like family, even bathing him when he got dirty and always making sure he was comfortable. Any time they wanted to do something for Kuma like bathe him or take him away on a day trip with everyone, they’d check in with me first and ask if it was okay - I really appreciated this as it shows that they respect my thoughts on his care, and I would say it helped fully earn my trust during his stay! I can see that Kuma’s gotten attached to them, and how happy he looks with Ashford makes me think maybe I need to get a dog for my dog 😂 But in all seriousness, I will be bringing Kuma back whenever everyone’s available as I’ve never seen him so happy away from home before, and I feel like Daniel and Brian are extremely trustworthy and caring sitters! Thank you again for the wonderful experience and for looking after Kuma 🙏🏻”

About: I have my own 5 year old rescue dog Heidi! She loves nothing more than a playmate and has great doggy social skills. As a dog owner myself I know all the skills required to look after one especially nervous dogs. If you have a rescue or nervous dog yourself then I have a lot of experience dealing with those behaviours. I know the local woods very well as we walk there everyday. My dog is small to medium sized but I grew up with golden retrievers so have experience with larger dogs also. I will be at home all day so your dog will not be left alone. I am more than happy to help with training for your puppies! They will be very comfortable as they are allowed on furniture. I’m working from home so can provide company for dogs with a lunchtime walk at my local woodland. I then let the dogs unwind with a chew or lickimat. I have one pet who gets on very well with other dogs. She enjoys company and will happily play. However, she also enjoys her rest which I think is important for our pups! So I will make sure they have down time.
“Short notice sitting and my two pups were cared for extremely well by Jennifer. All tablets given and updated regularly with photographs of walks as well as sleeping plus lots of dialogue. Extremely happy and happy dogs too ?”

“Matt was very warm and loving to my pup. He took great care of him and provided me photos and updates through the day. My dog and I would both recommend Matt and will be using him again.”

“Tuan Anh had hands down been the Best choice I could've made for looking after my Anxious, Fussy & at times Fearful Chihuahua Milo. Milo had an overnight stay for the first time with this particular Sitter & I received regular Photo, video & updates on how Milo was doing/settling in. Although he was initially sad when I left him he soon came out of his shell & I believe that's because of the excellent loving care Milo received. He was without a doubt very comfortable being around this very nice Sitter, his partner & their really cute dog; I'm quite sure Milo had a great time. Since I collected Milo he had been very chilled at home & very happy more so than usual, for all the reasons I pointed out I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this sitter & for Milo's next stay. Thank you🙂🦮”

“Amazing sitter would definitely rebook. I have a very excited Jack Russell mix with a ton of energy. I am always nervous to leave her but Libor provided lots of reassurance and sent daily photos. They went for walks everyday, he kept her cool during the heatwave and administered her daily allergy tablet.”

We cannot praise Pak enough for all he and his partner have done for us. At an incredibly difficult & emotional time healthwise for my husband, we were able to place our baby (Barney) with them initially for 3 weeks then a further month extension due to ongoing hospitalisation/ major surgery. Daily updates inc pics/short vids; good communication & prompt responses. Barney was clearly happy and well looked after and has just returned to us this week, happy as anything. In fact he’s learned to go in the back of the car, travel calmly, walk off the lead and good recall, amazing. Def recommend and def use again. Thank you both for everything.

Devon is always brilliant! My dog actually gets the holiday blues once he leaves Devon! I don’t even worry about Teddy and forget that he is even away from us when we are away because me mind is so at ease! He is definitely home away from home when he goes to Devon. Thanks Devon for always taking such good care of my little fella ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Matilde looked after CoCo for the bank holiday weekend , Matilde was absolutely fantastic! Meeting beforehand really helped ease my anxiety, and she was professional, polite and incredibly reassuring throughout. She asked all the right questions about medication, feeding, and any specific needs, and kept me regularly updated during the stay. A lovely, safe environment where you can leave your dog completely stress-free. Highly recommend, will defo book again x ❤️🐶

It was our first time using Rover so we were a little apprehensive and didn’t know what to expect. However, Olivia made the effort to meet us and our dogs for a walk prior to their stay which we really appreciated. Olivia and Jim were very welcoming and kept us updated daily with photos and messages. They ensured the dogs were stimulated and socialised by taking them on local walks and even took them on the train one day to Brighton! We wouldn’t hesitate to re book with them in the future.

My dog has been staying with Neil for the past few years while we’ve been on holiday. Neil is always responsive and clearly very experienced with dogs. We receive videos and updates on Bourbon who probably has more walkies and fun than he has with us. Thank you Neil!

Nadine was amazing with Whiskey, I’m so happy I found her. She is a caring and kind boarder who took great care of Whiskey making sure he took his medication, went on walks and sent me updates daily with videos and photos. I couldn’t recommend her enough and now feel better about leaving him for a few days to travel. Thank you Nadine!

Francis really helped me out at the last minute after someone else on here let me down. My dog, Creed, was instantly welcomed by Francis and his housemates. After a good sniff round Creed seemed to like the place. Francis is experienced with looking after energetic dogs, which gave me comfort, as this was my first time leaving my dog with a sitter. Francis kept me updated with photos and videos on the two nights Creed stayed with him. When I went to pick Creed up again he appeared happy and well looked after and calm in Francis’ company. Very grateful for Francis helping me out last minute and would definitely use him again.. Would fully recommend Francis to anyone else looking a dog sitter.

This is the second time I’ve had Honki and Alex look after my dog for a whole week, and once again, I couldn’t be happier! They send me photos and videos every day, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m travelling. They also keep me updated straight away if there’s ever anything I need to know. I’m so happy that Hongki and Alex give my dog so much love and attention, she never seems lonely or misses me at all! 🥰 I feel completely relaxed knowing she’s in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with them again for my next trip. Highly recommended! ❤️

Daniel and Brian were amazing! They took such good care of Sunny and he had the absolute best time with them (and little Ashford ❤️)! I was a little nervous at first about leaving him for five nights, but the daily updates, photos, and wonderful evening reports from them both really put my mind at ease and meant I could relax and enjoy my holiday even more.. Thank you so much Daniel and Brian for your care! You are the best!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
