“After a lot of searching I found Maria and I am so glad I did. It was the first time we had left champ and I was very nervous about it. We exchanged lots of messages before his stay, Maria and her husband Vern completely put my mind at rest and I felt at ease as soon as I met them, I just new champ would be in good hands and well looked after. He had a 3 night stay with them, they kept me updated throughout his stay with pictures and messages. Champ had a whale of a time, they kept him in his usual routine with nice walks over the park, lots of lovely cuddles too which he is used to,it really was a home from home experience for him, I can’t thank Maria enough.Champ was so relaxed and I had a very happy dog when I picked him up, I would thoroughly recommend Maria and her husband Vern they was just amazing. I will definitely be using Maria again, I reckon champ will be very pleased to stay again”

“Chanise had my puppy Oreo for 3 days and Oreo absolutely loved every minute of being with her. Chanise went above and beyond to make sure Oreo was happy and comfortable being in a different environment, I really didn’t think he would want to leave! Chanise is such a lovely, caring woman. I would definitely ask her to look after Oreo again as she was so good with him. Highly recommend 🥰🤍”

“Thank you very much Kim for looking after Leo again! Very flexible and accommodating with times and days Plenty of photos and kept us updated the whole time! Highly recommend”

“Siu Yung and her family were absolutely wonderful with Orbit. We had a pre visit beforehand and I knew instantly that she would be well cared for. We were kept so well updated throughout her stay with messages, photos, and little details about walks, meals, and how she was settling in. It genuinely felt like Orbit was part of their family rather than just being looked after. She had lovely walks, lots of attention, and a calm, caring home environment. We came back to a happy, relaxed dog, which says everything. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book with Siu Yung again and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for home Boarding!”

“Gabriella was honestly so lovely with my dog. From the start, she made sure he was comfortable and settled, and I could tell he felt really safe with her. She sent me updates while I was away, which I really appreciated (especially as an anxious dog mum). When I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and even smelled really nice! Which says a lot about how well she looked after him. You can tell she genuinely cares and puts in the effort. I’d 100% book her again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and kind to look after their dog!!”

“Simba was extremely well cared for by Anke and her family. We received regular videos and photos, which really reassured us, and it was clear he had a fantastic time with them. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Anke again and highly recommend her.”

“Amazing sitter!!!!!. Prince came back refreshed and safe! He was in the happiest of moods. Sayo was also more than understanding as we came late due to traffic but was more than easy to watch Prince and make sure he was taken care of. If you can book him you should - kind, goes over every expectation and is some sort of dog whisperer truly.”

“I booked a last minute boarding request with Indy for three days for my large dog. 5 stars doesn’t even cut it! My dog is a rescue and can be nervous at times, but she loved every second. Even though the request was last minute, Indy still accommodated a meet before booking anything, which went well. Layla was so very well looked after and cared for by the family, I had constant updates via text with pictures and videos, she was having the best time. I couldn’t recommend Indy enough, I’ll absolutely be rebooking when the time comes that Layla needs boarding/ dog sitting again”

“We booked Hector in for a two‑week stay and couldn’t be happier with the care he received. He was treated like part of the family from the moment he arrived, with regular updates that kept us completely at ease while on holiday. Hector came home relaxed, happy, and clearly very well looked after. The thoughtful presents he received at the end of his stay were such a lovely surprise and showed how much attention and affection he was given. We highly recommend this sitter for anyone looking for a safe, loving home for their dog.”

Chanice & Toby looked after our very spoilt cockapoo whilst we were away, Gus usually only stays with family so we were a little apprehensive. We could not have had a better experience, from our first meeting Chanice made Gus the centre of attention and he made himself totally at home. We received regular updates & and Gus was his usual happy self upon collection. I would highly recommend Chanice for dog sitting & we will definitely use her again – Thanks so much for taking such good care of Gus.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after our dog while we were away on holiday. She took care of him as if he were her own. He was loved, cared for, spoiled and taken on more walks than we could have ever imagined! Our dog also has a health condition and needs medication twice a day, and we were so reassured knowing that his treatment was given exactly as we instructed, every single time. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in such loving and caring hands. We could truly see how much attention, love and care she gave him. We’re incredibly grateful and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely loving to look after their dog. Thank you so much for everything you did for him!

We’d never used Rovwe before and our dogs have al yas stayed with family, so was a bit anxious when booking a 2 week stay but we are so glad we found d Gabriella. We couldn’t have picked a better sitter for our two boys. From the very moment we started talking, I knew Gabriella was going to be a good fit for them. This was made clear when we visited a week before we left for our holidays. The boys were comfortable straight away and I had no anxiety leaving them. For the whole two weeks, Gabriella sent photos, updated me in detail about their day, their food habits and all the exercise they were getting. This made our holiday very happy because we knew the boys were happy & healthy and enjoying their time with Gabriella and her family in a loving home environment. I couldn’t have wished for a better person to have the boys and I will 100% be using Gabriella again in the future. Thank you so much for everything ❤️

I was quite anxious about leaving our dog as it’s the first time that we have been away and he hasn’t stayed with family. He suffers with separation anxiety and I wasn’t sure how he would cope. We met Natalie the week before we went away and she put our mind at rest and Billy seemed comfortable around her. Natalie and her daughter took great care of Billy, reassuring him and giving him plenty of cuddles. I would recommend Natalie and will definitely be using her again x

Our dog boarded with Owen for 3 weeks. He communicated well both before and during her stay. Owen sent pictures and videos to keep us updated which, put our minds at rest. She was happy going to Owen who was very friendly, and immediately displayed she was in a happy and safe environment. On collection Owen gave us a further update and our dog was happy and looked well care for. We are delighted to have someone we completely trust, we highly recommend Owen for dog boarding.

I cannot thank Eva enough for taking such wonderful care of Milo! From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear just how much love, attention, and dedication she pours into what she does. She genuinely cares for him just as much as we do, and his happy demeanor when we picked him up said it all. Knowing he was in such safe, loving hands gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Eva went above and beyond, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. She sent us multiple photos and videos daily to out our minds at ease. We are so grateful that she is in Milo’s life and will definitely be using her for our next trip away. We honestly cannot give higher recommendations. Eva you are simply fantastic

Trisha W. looked after my dog Tia from 26/06/2026 to 28/06/2026, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. Tia was a bit anxious at first, but Trisha managed her so well and made her feel comfortable and settled. Trisha was kind, responsible, and gave Tia lots of love and attention. I felt very comfortable knowing Tia was in such good hands. Thank you, Trisha, for taking such great care of Tia. I would happily recommend you and would love for Tia to stay with you again in the future

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
