“We felt very at ease leaving Teddy with Dongmei and Thomas. They organised a meet and greet a couple of days before to talk things over. We rescued Teddy 7 years ago and this is the first time he has stayed with someone away from home. We were delighted with the pictures they sent showing us Teddy was at ease and enjoying his vacation away from home. ❤️. Would definitely board again. Caroline.”

“Anke and her husband are both so lovely and really looked after our Frank! We got lots of pictures and videos throughout our trip, showing Frank having a great time. We love that they took him out on walks on his own and with the other dogs and gave him lots of attention”

“Bruno stayed with Ronnie and his family for 14 nights, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They provided outstanding care, keeping us updated with regular messages and photos throughout our time away, which gave us complete peace of mind. I would strongly recommend Ronnie and his family to anyone seeking a caring and reliable home for their pet. Tony”

“Here’s a polished and corrected version of your review: --- Our puppy Harry is very small and still in training, but Fred kindly offered to look after him for two days. Fred is extremely friendly and flexible. He kept us updated with pictures of Harry, which really put our minds at ease. We never had to worry about our little pup while he was with Fred. Highly recommend!”

“As always Thomas had the best time on his sleep over with Kevin and his family. Kevin always sends pictures of their adventures together which always puts a little smile on our faces. We always know that Thomas is safe and very well looked after on every stay. Thank you Kevin to you and your family for always taking such good care of him. ☺️”

“Sherlock has stayed with Arpana a few times over the past couple of weeks while we had lots of family visiting for a wedding. We’ve never really felt comfortable leaving Sherlock before, but after seeing Arpana’s profile and how much of a dog lover she is, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did. From the very first meeting, Sherlock took to Arpana and her family straight away. She kindly welcomed him into her home when we dropped him off, and it was clear how dog-friendly and welcoming the environment was. Each time we brought him back, he would pull eagerly on his lead and sniff his way right up to the door, excited to see them again. A big part of that is down to her children, who clearly adore dogs and were wonderful with Sherlock — he had the best time playing, especially with her daughter. He always came home tired out, but in the happiest way. Arpana kept in touch with regular updates, which was really reassuring for us as slightly anxious owners leaving our dog for the first time. She was also very patient with our many questions and flexible with timing, which we really appreciated. Overall, the experience has made us feel so much more comfortable about leaving Sherlock with a sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with her again — I don’t think Sherlock would forgive us if we didn’t!”

“Jess is lovely, she came and collected Cookie, sent videos and photos of her day with Cookie. Cookie came home very contented, if not a little exhausted by all the fun she had with Jess and her 3 dogs. Highly recommend”

“Thanks Angela and Alex for looking after Gizmo she came home absolutely exhausted and tired. She was looked after very well and thanks for all the pup updates and pictures. Me and my family was very happy to see that Gizmo had lots of fun with you both. X”

About: My partner Josh and I both have family dogs but since moving into our own home we have missed having them around. We both work hybrid and are available for overnights and lots of walkies! I’m working from home on a Monday and Friday. We are also available on weekends and for overnights. We both go on morning and evening walks to get steps in! I have a big fenced garden and we are a short walk away from Danson park. Dogs are allowed on all furniture and beds too
“Sharonjit recently looked after my boy Atticus whilst I was away for 6 nights and I could not be more pleased and grateful for all she and her husband have done. From the initial meet and greet my mind was put instantly at ease after seeing the lovely homely feel Sharonjit has in her home with a spacious garden. She took the time to really get to know Atticus, and provided multiple updates with videos daily. Atticus is moping around now as he wants to go back and misses his new best friend Coco!! I am so lucky to have found Sharonjit at last minute and would never use anyone else now. Sharonjit has also given me lots of advice as a first time dog owner and has just gone above and beyond the whole time. Thank you again for everything!!! 🥰”

“I can’t recommend Andrea enough! She took such great care of my dog during his overnight stay, and he seemed so happy and comfortable with her. Andrea kept us updated the entire time with pictures and videos, which really put us at ease. It was clear he was in great hands, and we’ll absolutely be using her again.”

“Heather was an amazing support. I know Ivy was in safe hands and she came back tired which means she was busy, had lots of fun and made a fuss of. Heather was easy to communicate with which makes the whole progress so easy. Thank you!”

“Heather was lovely with our Kobe and took great care of him. She kept us updated with photos of him too, which was appreciated so we knew he was having a good time and being spoilt!”

“Erika watched our Betsy overnight for an evening and her family were super lovely and made me feel comfortable with leaving Betsy in her care. She sent lots of updates and photos which we loved! Would book with her again x”

“Liu looked after Bailey whilst we were on holiday as a family and he had the best care. Liu provided us with constant updates and photos. Bailey was made to feel so comfortable whilst away from home which meant we did not have to worry at all. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Liu again and highly recommend her services.”

“Jemma and her lovely daughter, took such good care of Zula, we received lots of updates and pictures. Would highly recommend and will definitely ask Jemma to look after Zula again!”

“Neena and Ray are just wonderful! They welcomed us for a visit before we confirmed the booking, gave us a tour of their lovely home and instantly put us at ease. On drop off Bernie recognised where he was and pulled to get inside! He had a great time staying with them, very content in the big garden and having a pick of sofas to snooze on! Neena kept us updated with photos and we were happy knowing Bernie was being looked after so well. We have already booked again!”
“We left our dog, Monty, with Mauricio for a week while we were abroad and we couldn’t have asked for better care. He and the family treated Monty like part of the family and even celebrated his birthday while we were away, which was such a thoughtful touch. They bought him presents and made him a cake (made of chicken) and sent us photos and videos on the day so we didn’t feel like we were missing out too much. We were kept updated with regular messages and photos throughout the week, giving us complete peace of mind. Thank you, Mauricio, for taking such wonderful care of Monty, it looked as though he had a lovely time. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and use you again.”

Really glad to have found Ryah to care for our two small and young dogs for the weekend. She and her partner are very used to dogs and have a calm, caring manner. Thank you both so much for taking care of Ted and Olive and we really appreciated the photos and updates.

Eliana was amazing with Crumble! He was a little nervous initially, but she made him feel so comfortable and welcome. He had a great time playing with another dog she was sitting, Arlow, and it was lovely to see him so happy. She kept us updated throughout with regular messages and photos, which really put our minds at ease. We’d definitely book with Eliana again and highly recommend her!

Archie had a fab time at Matt and Mel’s! He stayed with them and their gorgeous dog, Bill, for a week whilst we were on holiday. We had regular updates and photos so knew Archie was safe, happy and cared for. Archie and Bill got on very well - I think Archie is missing Bills company already! We would definitely book Matt and Mel again. Thank you both for taking such good care of Archie.

This was the first time leaving Poppy with anyone other than family so we were a little apprehensive at first but after meeting Gil we knew she would look after Poppy just as we would. Gil sent us plenty of updates which we loved reading everyday. We would highly recommend Gil and will definitely be using her services again.

Joanne is absolutely incredible. We are so grateful for the brilliant care she took for our kali (a large, excitable 1 and 1/2 year old German shepherd) whilst we were in Greece. From the very start Joanne was a true professional, arranging a meet up walk and home visit for us and kali to help us all to get to know herself and Oz (her lovely husband). She took the time to ask about kali’s routines and likes/dislikes at home, to make the settling in period as easy as possible. We had frequent contact with Joanne and the regular picture and videos updates throughout the holiday were also hugely appreciated. Kali clearly loved her new walks and chance for water play… Now she’s back, we think kali is missing her home from home! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Upasna was brilliant with my toy poodle Coco for a three day stay! She treated him like her own, and I could tell he was very comfortable and happy in her home. He got lots of cuddles, playtime, and sunbathing, and Upasna sent me lots of lovely photos of him and was very welcoming! I would highly recommend her, and would trust her with my dog son any time in the future. Thanks Upasna!

I can barely put into words how grateful i am for the care provided by Lazhen. She was so friendly & accommodating and i immediately felt at ease, even during the booking process. She asked all the necessary questions and kept in contact with me the entire time she had Skylar during the weekend. She sent me loads of pics and gave me updates on how Skylar was doing, eating, drinking, playing and going on the walks. I’m so so happy and grateful. Skylar was well taken care of and we can’t wait to see you again.

Bailey had an absolutely wonderful stay with Douglas and Trina. We received regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind and showed just how much fun he was having. We're fairly certain he was a little sad to leave when it was time to come home! We wouldn't hesitate to book with Douglas again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for excellent care. Bailey is already counting down the days until his next stay!

Leo loves staying with Sophie, she is so calm and caring with him and I don’t think I could ever find anyone better to leave Leo with whenever we need someone to look after him. Thank you Sophie for everything you do. We always appreciate your love and care, hope to book again soon! 🥰🐾

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
