About: I’ve always wanted dogs, but I was never allowed a pet. At 23 years old, I got my first ever dog, a little Yorkshire terrier named Kiko and then shortly after, a French bulldog named Blu Bear. Both dogs are 5 now, and I have learnt so much to ensure I give them the right training, caring home and safe space. I currently work full-time as a Consultant, and work from home Mondays and Fridays, hence why I have opened up my availability to those days. I’m open to drop off from as early as 8AM, with two of my own dogs (&yours), our DITL routine consists of walks first thing in the morning, breakfast and play time. Throughout the day, I will be working, but that’s not to say I won’t be paying attention. My role does not require me to sit there 8 hours straight, and as I work in the living room, I will have full site of your pup. Your pup will also get a toilet break every 2 hours, in our secured terrace garden, this will also give them the chance to get some fresh air and run around time. If you provide a lunch, I will ensure to keep a consistent routine for your pooch so they don’t feel too out of sync and give it at the times you specify. Work will finish at 5PM, and we’ll go for another walk and you’re welcome to let me know your pickup time. You can ensure that our home is a safe environment for your pooch, a water bowl is always left out so that they have access to clean water throughout the day. I am also a clutter-free home, so there is definitely no loose items around for you to worry about your pet getting caught in anything or chewing on anything that they shouldn’t be. You can trust that I will abide by the parameters you set, for example, if there are certain foods and treats that your dog can only eat, that is all I will give them. I have definitely learnt a thing or two since having a Frenchie with a super sensitive stomach, so I will fully respect your wishes on their diet. So long as you provide the meals and the feeding times, I will also ensure to keep consistency in your pup’s routine. I am very conscious of the “dog smell” in my home, I know it can’t be helped…but I do my very best to keep a clean environment for my own sanity and I can assure you that your pooch is being taken care of in a clean home. Im open to pets being allowed on the furniture, they can make themselves feel right at home here, we do have covers on our sofa so that it is protected and the covers are regularly washed. I’m also fully stocked on poop bags, wipes (we do wipe the lil butts if they’ve done a number 2) and lots of toys they can play to keep their brains stimulated. For any dogs boarding, I also provide crates and beds, dependent on what your dog is used to, I’m happy to stick with their usual night routine… even if it means sleeping on my bed

Natalie was a wonderful dog sitter. First time looking after Blues and definitely not the last. She was communicative from the start and so open and friendly when meeting me and Blues for the first time. I could tell she was not only knowledgeable and experienced with dogs but she also really loves them. I was more than happy to leave Blues in her care.

About: Hi! I’m originally from Australia and have had dogs my entire life, growing up with both Boxers and Border Collies. I’ve been living in England for the last three years and really miss having a dog around. Friends and family have often relied on me to look after their pets, and I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, personalities and energy levels. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, happy and loved. I’m a teacher with a flexible schedule outside of school hours and during holidays, giving me plenty of time to dedicate to your pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, drop-ins, or simply keeping your dog company, I’ll work around their usual routine to ensure they feel comfortable and well cared for. I have a secure fenced garden and always prioritise your dog’s safety and comfort. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, medication and crate training if needed. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well looked after. 🐾

It has been four instances, since we availed of Alison's pet sitting services, to look after our Twigz and we are thrilled to say, without a shadow of doubt, that not just Twigz, but Walter and myself are very fortunate to have met Alison and her family on this most amazing site (Rover). Twigz has established a unique bond with Alison's pet dog (Claude) and all on all, this established relationship is growing rapidly each time, not only with Claude, but also with Alison's beautiful dog loving family. We received updates on Twigz, everyday with photos, videos and messages. We would highly recommend this family for dog sitting, as they are way beyond compare. A big thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to Alison and family.❤️❤️

I left my Pip with Justina for 2 weeks. I was nervous and emotional leaving him but Justina put me at ease right away with an update. She would update me throughout the day each day with photos, videos and little cheeky things he’d done. I appreciated this type of continuous communication very much. She is very observant and will let you know any change in the pet’s behaviour (what he is doing/not doing) so they have a great experience. She helped Pip go from a very nervous boy to wanting constant cuddles in a very short space of time. He relaxed into her love and affections. A beautiful thing to see. You will be happy leaving your beloved pet with Justina. She gives top care.

Megan is a beautiful person and was absolutely wonderful and extremely patient and confident with my little old boy, Who is a rescue from BDH. We had a meet and greet and she was brilliant putting Uno and myself at ease. Megan has a lot of love and experience with dogs, as she has had her own for many years. She has a great understanding of what the dogs needs are. Uno takes medication and she was such a professional given him his tablets and she also has an understanding of dogs that have medical needs. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, caring, intuitive, responsible, patient, caring, intuitive, responsible dog sitter. When I dropped him off, Megan already had a bowl of water ready for him. She was so welcoming and with all of my boys special needs and quirks, Megan took them all in, she was not phased at all with him. Uno has separation anxiety and Megan was able to settle him down after I left, and then within a few hours they became buddies. Megan is a very loving , peaceful, caring person and loved Uno. She took the time to get to know him and quickly understood his needs and queues for what he wanted. This is very needed for my boy to get to know him. He was with Megan for a day and I also booked for uno to go for a 4 night holiday stay with her, He loved it! He got lots of cuddles and loving and was resting together in the same room. He loves a peaceful environment and that's what he got being with her. Megan communicate with you on a regular basis. Thank you Megan for taking such good care of my boy and keeping me updated with photos and texts. I would 100% recommend Megan for your pet babies.

Alicia, her own cocker spaniel Enzo and Alicia’s husband took great care about Noah. From the first meet and greet moment I was 100% sure that Noah will stay as in “home away from home” - he could play with Enzo, observe situation in their garden, walk to park, get a nap near cooling fan, sleep in a bed, get his meals on time and be reassured by Alicia’s lovely family that he is in safe hands. Absolutely satisfied with this dog sitter and hope to see her again soon. Highly recommend.

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Croydon

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 16,253 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Croydon. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
