“Ighodalo was excellent with Gofio. He house sat for us for 18 days. He looked very well after Gofio and kept us up to date. From the pictures it looked like they had a lot of fun together. He was very respectful of the house and followed our instructions regarding his medication and care. We'll try to book him again when we next go away!”

“Lina was fantastic! She kept sending me photos of Bruno and took great care of him. It was my first time leaving my dog alone for a few days but Lina made me feel really comfortable. Thank you so much!”

“Alexandru was a star housesitter. He looked after our very old dog during the heatwave which must have been really challenging. The house was spotless and I will definitely book him again, if he will have us.”

About: I’ve been around and adored both cats and dogs from my childhood. I’ve never understood the great divide between cat and dog lovers…why can’t I be both?! I’m a remote freelance designer so have a very flexible schedule that can shift around the needs of your pet. I don’t have pets or family of my own, so your furry friend can be my priority! Without the need to go into an office during the day, I have the ability to care for your pet in the comfort of their own environment.
“Justina is a great pet sitter. Despite our nervous dog, we were able to go away for the night and relax that she was happy to be left. Justina was also very respectful of our home and left it as found. She's communicative too, sending photos during the stay. We have no hesitation in continuing to use Justina.”

“Justina was amazing in every way. We had an initial chat followed by a meet and greet to ensure we both felt comfortable with everything. I totally felt like I could trust her with our precious animals and our home while we went on a trip. She was very good at sending lots of updates and photos and I really felt like she cared about them, celebrating their little idiosyncrasies and cuteness. I would have no hesitation in recommending Justina to look after your little fluff balls and I hope we will see her again 😀”

“Larissa is a lovely and thoughtful person, always takes good care of Minnie(dog), very attentive to instructions and routine, but most important Minnie always comes back happy and tired.”

“Drew was great. My dog is pretty anxious and this was his first time staying with someone who wasn't family, and he absolutely loved Drew. Had a great time, lots of walks and Drew was very good at sending updates and pictures. My dog has dog reactivity and Drew managed it very well, and even helped him make some new doggy friends. Would absolutely recommend Drew.”

“Arianna was amazing! Responsive, took the time to come over beforehand, sent tons of pictures, followed Pancake's schedule perfectly... she even did some dishes we had left behind! Honestly, can't praise her enough, do not hesitate to book.”

About: Hi there, I’ve been working as a veterinary nurse for the past 10 years, gaining hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small furries, and reptiles. You can feel confident knowing your pets will be in safe, knowledgeable, and loving hands. As a proud dog and cat mum myself, I completely understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets, even for a short time. That’s why I always go the extra mile to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m more than happy to send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is doing well. I currently work from home and occasionally locum at veterinary clinics, which means I’m able to give plenty of time and attention to your fur babies. I’m generally home during the day, whether it’s for a drop-in visit or a walk. I understand that every animal is different, so the level of interaction will always be tailored to your pet’s needs — whether they prefer quiet companionship, extra cuddles, or engaging toys and puzzles. I always respect their individual personalities and boundaries. My aim is to build a genuine connection with both you and your pets from our very first meeting. I truly look forward to meeting you and giving your pets the love, care, and attention they deserve. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m always happy to chat. Thanks, Neeky Pet care fits naturally into my day as I work from home, meaning I’m around most of the time to give pets plenty of attention, comfort, and care. They’re rarely left alone and I make sure they have regular feeding, playtime, walks, and cuddles. On days when I locum at a veterinary clinic, this is always planned in advance so your pet’s routine is never disrupted. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I follow routines closely, keep environments clean and secure, and ensure pets are supervised at all times. With my experience as a veterinary nurse, I’m comfortable administering medication if needed and monitoring health and behaviour. I respect your home as if it were my own and aim to make pets feel relaxed, secure, and cared for at all times.
“Sammy is amazing!! She is so kind, and patient. She asks great questions to get to know what our dog needs and was great at communicating. We can't wait to use her again and we'd recommend her to everyone!”

“Lesley is great with my Mollie. Mollie settled with her so quickly. She is easy to communicate with and I am grateful I have found a lovely dogsitter like her for days where Mollie needs looking after for longer periods of time.”

“Kayla helped us out immensely with a last minute booking as another sitter we had booked fell through, she was quick to respond, very accommodating, and helped save the day. She was excellent with Pepper, communicated with us clearly to ask questions and share updates on their day, and became fast friends with a rather anxious dog. Would absolutely recommend her to anybody, really great experience.”

About: I have my own loving Cavapoo, I am looking to spread the love to some more doggos! I’ve taken care of my family German Shepherd for over 7 years while I was living at home. I’ve also lived with house mates in the past who had their own dogs. I work from home Wednesdays and Fridays and are free most weekends! I am quite flexible and looking to do some long weekends with some new doggies! I have a really big enclosed garden with real grass for the doggos to use and I am a 10/15 minutes walk from Tooting Bec park.

About: Hello! My name is Hope, I’m 31 years old, I’m a Youth Worker, and I adore pets. My first cat, TJ, was a rescue. We had him from the age of 16 and he lived to the age of 23. He passed away a few years ago, but I believe he lived a long and happy life because we gave him the love and care he needed. When he was 16, we were told he had only had 6months to live, but he continued to live an extra 6-7 years. I miss him everyday. TJ was on medication for his heart and kidneys, and he was on specialised food. If your cat needs specialised food and/or medication, I am more than happy to provide your cat the care they require. I now have another cat, Ivy. She is 4 years old, and we rescued her from Bahrain. She is a calico, and an absolute drama queen. She is funny, sassy, vocal, ‘spicy’ yet sweet. If you have a calico, I’m sure you know what I mean! I also care for my neighbours cats, including a Bengal. He also has specific requirements (for example, extra playtime to keep him stimulated). I have always been an animal lover. Prior to having cats, I used to own dogs, fish, and rabbits. I also care for my neighbours guinea pigs and dogs when they are away. I regularly care for 4 dogs in my apartment building. This includes regular walks and sleep-overs. If you pick me as your pet-sitter, I will not only provide the basics, but I’ll spend lots of time with them to ensure they are happy and not lonely. You will receive plenty of updates via WhatsApp, including pictures and videos.
“Megan was amazing with Laddu! They got along so well, and it was clear from the start that she truly loves dogs. She took great care of Laddu and made sure she was happy and comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend Megan to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals, flexible schedule, and home environment that’s perfect for dogs. I’m a university student who studies from home, so your dog will never be left alone for long periods. I’ve cared for puppies before and I’m confident handling their energy and needs. I also have a quiet garden space where dogs can safely play and relax. While I don’t have formal training, my background in pharmaceutical science makes me attentive, responsible, and very detail-oriented—your pet’s well-being is always my top priority! Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine because I study from home most of the week and have a flexible schedule. This means I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, regular walks, playtime, and care throughout the day. I enjoy taking breaks from my studies to spend time outdoors with dogs or relaxing with them at home—it keeps both of us happy and active! Weekends and evenings are also usually free, so I can easily adjust to your pet’s specific routine or needs. In my home, I provide a calm and comfortable environment with access to a secure garden for safe outdoor play. I make sure pets feel at ease with a consistent routine that includes regular walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of affection. I always follow any instructions provided by the owner to maintain the pet’s usual habits and routines. Whether it’s boarding or daycare, I keep the atmosphere relaxed, clean, and stress-free, just like a second home. For walks, I choose safe, local routes and adjust the pace to each dog’s needs—whether they’re energetic or prefer a slower stroll.
“Lauren was amazing! ... it was a fairly short notice requirement for our two dogs + housesit, and we managed to communicate with Lauren about everything in advance. We know the dogs had a good time, we could tell by their faces when we returned. We were most impressed with Lauren and would definitely recommend her, and will be using her excellent services again ... thank you Lauren.”

Maria looked after our mini dachshund Diego for a few hours at fairly short notice which was really helpful to us. Diego responded to well to her immediately which was comforting and she provided us with pics and updates which helped out own anxiety about leaving him with someone new as we had only done this once before so are still very new to having someone sit for us. We knew immediately that Diego was in safe hands with Maria and we will definitely be looking to rebook her again soon.

Such a relief to leave my two boys with such a caring and thoughtful sitter. Larissa was wonderful - sending me updates and sleeping with them so they wouldn’t feel too unsettled. They’re both rescues so can be very wary of new people but they took to her immediately! I was so grateful for her coming at such short notice and keeping the boys entertained and feeling safe and loved.

Alice and Brandon just stayed at ours for 2 weeks and looked after our senior cat Pedro who, as well as demanding cuddles and fuss 24/7, most importantly needs daily medicine for his asthma. Alice and Brandon took care of him (and our house) perfectly. We got lots of daily updates and photos which we love, and when we came back the house was spotless and tidy and Pedro was extra soft which means he got lots of brushing time! Thank you so much guys, we couldn't be happier for the service you've provided us. M&D and Pedro xx

Berna was absolutely fantastic with our cat, Monty. He loved her and she sent regular updates and photos throughout her time with him. Berna was very flexible when our plans changed and sat for him for an additional night with very little warning. I couldn’t recommend her enough for your little friends. Thank you again from us and Monty!

Justina is the gold standard of house/pet sitters on Rover. We were totally comfortable with her staying in our home with our two cats and our dog. She asked all the right questions and it was clear that our pets were at ease with her. We really hope that she is available the next time we go away!

Louise was wonderful during our 3 day booking. Our cat seemed happy and relaxed when we returned, no doubt because of all the love and attention she had received from Louise! We received daily photos and updates, which was lovely, and Louise left our home absolutely spotless. We would recommend her to anyone who wants a considerate, cat-loving house sitter.

Sam stayed at ours for 9 nights & days to look after our 13 year old dog Sky with additional care requirements. We felt relaxed and confident the whole time and Sky looked well cared for even in the extreme heat that occurred during that time. Will definitely book again.

Huge thanks to Tristan for looking after our furry baby for the second time. As always, he kept us updated with messages, photos, and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. We’re very grateful for the care and attention he provided, and we’ll definitely be using Tristan again.

Ighodalo was excellent with Gofio. He house sat for us for 18 days. He looked very well after Gofio and kept us up to date. From the pictures it looked like they had a lot of fun together. He was very respectful of the house and followed our instructions regarding his medication and care. We'll try to book him again when we next go away!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Croydon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croydon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
