About: I love all kinds of animals, and have grown up looking after cats. I also have a lot of experience looking after dogs, having helped train a sheepdog and regularly caring for friend’s and family dogs while they go away. I’ve also had many dogs stay at mine on Borrow My Doggy! I work from home and have flexible hours 5 days a week so have all the time in the world to be with your beloved pet! I live in a flat with a balcony, and a park right next to my house. I work from home with a very flexible schedule 5 days a week, so I have lots of time to spend with your beloved pet! I have a secured balcony in my flat and a communal outdoor rooftop space, which I can keep shut if needed or use for outside time. I’m less than 1 minute away from South Norwood park which is super handy.
“Justina was amazing in every way. We had an initial chat followed by a meet and greet to ensure we both felt comfortable with everything. I totally felt like I could trust her with our precious animals and our home while we went on a trip. She was very good at sending lots of updates and photos and I really felt like she cared about them, celebrating their little idiosyncrasies and cuteness. I would have no hesitation in recommending Justina to look after your little fluff balls and I hope we will see her again 😀”

“Carla was absolutely amazing with our two Labs, including my male dog who's wary of strangers. She updated us regularly with adorable pics, looked after our house like it was her own, and gave us peace of mind during our holiday. Our pups loved her!”

“Alexandru was a star housesitter. He looked after our very old dog during the heatwave which must have been really challenging. The house was spotless and I will definitely book him again, if he will have us.”

“Justina was fantastic. Communicated clearly - was on time and super friendly. She looked after our loon dog whilst we got married, in which she walked and fed loon dog. Lots of photos, lots of care and Loons loved her. Will be booking again.”

I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday, so your doggo would have access to me 24/7. I have my own dog, Tucker, a pure-bred Maltese, who would love to make some friends along the way! I live in a one-bedroom flat, and have easy access to outdoor space. Similarly, I can walk ten minutes to reach my local park, so walkies are easy :)
“Drew was great. My dog is pretty anxious and this was his first time staying with someone who wasn't family, and he absolutely loved Drew. Had a great time, lots of walks and Drew was very good at sending updates and pictures. My dog has dog reactivity and Drew managed it very well, and even helped him make some new doggy friends. Would absolutely recommend Drew.”

About: Whilst fairly new to the dog sitting profession, I have fantastic experience raising our family dog Jasper from a puppy. He grew into an adorable large labradoodle, Jasper lived to 14years and I helped train him to behave fantastically with young children, a very calm and gentle demeanour. My first dog sitting experience was very recently after I lost my full time job. A good friend asked if I could look after their family dog in my flat whilst they are away on holiday for a week. My only other commitments in the week is the occasional saxophone gig, otherwise I am readily available to care walk and look after your canine family members. I live in a ground floor flat in Carshalton, very short walking distance from multiple parks, wilderness island (active shallow stream, clean spring water from wandle). I am improving my fitness and have been taking dogs on runs recently on lead. There is vinyl flooring in most of the property, but I put towels and rugs down to make walking easier for older / larger dogs. A pub near me even does doggy ice cream, so your dog can expect at treat once or twice during a holiday sit. I don’t have a driving licence so locality is important to consider and or drop off / pick up from owner will likely be required. I am fine to sit dogs of all sizes but a very large dog might struggle in a small flat. Please don’t hesitate to contact me (including call!) for more information and to get to know me better :). I am currently unemployed, not earning PAYE. I am a musician, meaning Friday and Saturdays nights / evenings are often busy. Some other music commitments may impact my schedule but am not away from flat for more than 3 hours. My flat is ground floor and secure. The block has cctv, and on a safe private road. The flat is surrounded by grass and trees of the shared garden. I have mats and rugs to place on my vinyl flooring and safe place for dog to eat, drink in the kitchen. I don’t enforce rules, if dog wants to lie in bed or on sofa, that’s no problem. Been known to visit the local pub which offers doggy ice cream - your dog can expect a summer treat when staying with me!

About: I absolutely love both dogs and cats. I’ve always had pets in my life — back in Ukraine, I had a dog who was part of my family for 17 years, as well as a cat. I also regularly look after dogs belonging to friends and family, so having a four-legged guest at home feels very natural to me. I am the sole caregiver for all pets in my care — no one else assists me with pet sitting or dog walking services. I have a flexible schedule and can spend plenty of time at home with pets. I can fit pet care easily into my daily routine and make sure they get regular attention, feeding, playtime and company. I’m happy to follow each pet’s usual routine and give them the care and attention they are used to. I want every pet to feel safe, calm and comfortable in my home. I follow their normal routine, make sure they always have fresh water and a clean, comfortable space, and give them plenty of attention and affection. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions from the owner and will always treat each pet with the same care and respect I would give my own

Joanna was absolutely great with Lexi. She came over a couple of days before the booking to meet us and bonded immediately with Lexi. During the actual booking we got some great photos of Lexi totally chilling and having a lovely time. I would definitely book Joanna again and highly recommend her.

We couldn’t be happier with Bel and the care she gave our cat, India, while we were away for five days. She was incredibly thorough, responsible, and attentive, taking the time to understand all of India’s needs and making sure she was comfortable, happy, and well cared for throughout our trip. Bel was also super communicative. She took the initiative to send us regular photos and updates, and she never hesitated to ask questions whenever she needed to. We really appreciated how conscientious she was and how seriously she took the responsibility of looking after India. It gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She also went above and beyond when it came to looking after our home. She stripped the bed and sorted out the kitchen before we returned, which was such a thoughtful surprise. Coming home from a trip already means unpacking and having plenty to do, so having those things taken care of made a real difference. When we came home, India was very happy to see us, but she was also completely relaxed, content, and clearly very well looked after. That really says everything about the care and attention Bel gave her. We honestly can’t say enough about how grateful we are. Bel is thoughtful, communicative, responsible, and clearly takes real pride in making sure both pets and their owners are completely comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with India again. Thank you so much, Bel!

Desra and Lily were absolutely lovely - we had a 'get to know you' meeting a few days before the sit, and on the day they arrived punctually and well prepared. We got regular updates through the day and the pack were clearly very happy as they settled within 10 minutes (most unlike them!!). Overall could not be happy with Desra & Lily and would definitely recommend...
Jade is a FANTASTIC pet sitter. She looked after our cat for us and she cared for her wonderfully. Even when our cat was a little poorly and being sick. Jade sent us photo updates everyday and would reply to messages quickly. If that was not enough, she left our house in excellent condition. We returned to our house tidier and cleaner then when we left! We will 100% be using Jade again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to look after their furbaby!

Serena is a wonderful cat sitter, we have had her staying in our house twice now and both times, our fur baby has been well looked after and is happy and healthy on our return. Serena goes the extra mile and looks after our home as if it was her own, always left very clean and tidy. If you are looking for somebody reliable and trustworthy, I can thoroughly recommend her. Thankyou Serena xx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Croydon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croydon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
