“Justina was amazing with our two year old Dachshund! She took him for walks, played his favourite games, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Justina gave us regular photo and message updates, which gave us total peace of mind that he was happy and looked after. Our pup came home happy, tired, and well cared for. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“Carla was absolutely amazing with our two Labs, including my male dog who's wary of strangers. She updated us regularly with adorable pics, looked after our house like it was her own, and gave us peace of mind during our holiday. Our pups loved her!”

“Larissa is a lovely and thoughtful person, always takes good care of Minnie(dog), very attentive to instructions and routine, but most important Minnie always comes back happy and tired.”

“Kayla helped us out immensely with a last minute booking as another sitter we had booked fell through, she was quick to respond, very accommodating, and helped save the day. She was excellent with Pepper, communicated with us clearly to ask questions and share updates on their day, and became fast friends with a rather anxious dog. Would absolutely recommend her to anybody, really great experience.”

“Drew was really lovely and calm. He can early to meet Maggie to ensure that we were OK leaving her with him and sent us regular updates. When we returned he didn’t rush off and gave us a lovely little summary of how Maggie was. Maggie was very calm and loved hanging out with Drew. We found him to be really easy to be around, very knowledgeable about dogs and a really great energy, so we were happy to leave Maggie with him. We will be booking him again.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have my 10 year old Maltese boy, Tucker. I’m not in a position to get a second dog, but would love to help others all whilst Tucker makes some new friends! I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday, so your doggo would have access to me 24/7. I have my own dog, Tucker, a pure-bred Maltese, who would love to make some friends along the way! I live in a one-bedroom flat, and have easy access to outdoor space. Similarly, I can walk ten minutes to reach my local park, so walkies are easy :)
“Lina was fantastic! She kept sending me photos of Bruno and took great care of him. It was my first time leaving my dog alone for a few days but Lina made me feel really comfortable. Thank you so much!”

“Alexandru was a star housesitter. He looked after our very old dog during the heatwave which must have been really challenging. The house was spotless and I will definitely book him again, if he will have us.”

“Megan and her partner Ethan took excellent care of Sophocles and Coco for a weekend stay. We returned to two very happy pets and an immaculate flat. You can really tell they both love animals and take the time to get to know your pets specific needs. Would recommend to any other pet owners in the area :)”

“Arianna was amazing! Responsive, took the time to come over beforehand, sent tons of pictures, followed Pancake's schedule perfectly... she even did some dishes we had left behind! Honestly, can't praise her enough, do not hesitate to book.”

“Joanna was wonderful from start to finish... communicated regularly with video updates and clearly looked after Eddie incredibly well! Hopefully she'll be free to look after him the next time :)”

About: Hi there, I’ve been working as a veterinary nurse for the past 10 years, gaining hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small furries, and reptiles. You can feel confident knowing your pets will be in safe, knowledgeable, and loving hands. As a proud dog and cat mum myself, I completely understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets, even for a short time. That’s why I always go the extra mile to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m more than happy to send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is doing well. I currently work from home and occasionally locum at veterinary clinics, which means I’m able to give plenty of time and attention to your fur babies. I’m generally home during the day, whether it’s for a drop-in visit or a walk. I understand that every animal is different, so the level of interaction will always be tailored to your pet’s needs — whether they prefer quiet companionship, extra cuddles, or engaging toys and puzzles. I always respect their individual personalities and boundaries. My aim is to build a genuine connection with both you and your pets from our very first meeting. I truly look forward to meeting you and giving your pets the love, care, and attention they deserve. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m always happy to chat. Thanks, Neeky Pet care fits naturally into my day as I work from home, meaning I’m around most of the time to give pets plenty of attention, comfort, and care. They’re rarely left alone and I make sure they have regular feeding, playtime, walks, and cuddles. On days when I locum at a veterinary clinic, this is always planned in advance so your pet’s routine is never disrupted. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I follow routines closely, keep environments clean and secure, and ensure pets are supervised at all times. With my experience as a veterinary nurse, I’m comfortable administering medication if needed and monitoring health and behaviour. I respect your home as if it were my own and aim to make pets feel relaxed, secure, and cared for at all times.
“Lesley is great with my Mollie. Mollie settled with her so quickly. She is easy to communicate with and I am grateful I have found a lovely dogsitter like her for days where Mollie needs looking after for longer periods of time.”

About: Hello! My name is Hope, I’m 31 years old, I’m a Youth Worker, and I adore animals. My first cat, TJ, was a rescue. We had him from the age of 16 and he lived to the age of 23. He passed away a few years ago, but I believe he lived a long and happy life because we gave him the love and care he needed. When he was 16, we were told he had only had 6months to live, but he continued to live an extra 6-7 years. I miss him everyday. TJ was on medication for his heart and kidneys, and he was on specialised food. If your cat needs specialised food and/or medication, I am more than happy to provide your cat the care they require. I now have another cat, Ivy. She is 4 years old, and we rescued her from Bahrain. She is a calico, and an absolute drama queen. She is funny, sassy, vocal, ‘spicy’ yet sweet. If you have a calico, I’m sure you know what I mean! I also care for my neighbours cats, including a Bengal. He also has specific requirements (for example, extra playtime to keep him stimulated). I have always been an animal lover. Prior to having cats, I used to own dogs, fish, and rabbits. I also care for my neighbours guinea pigs and dogs when they are away. I regularly care for 4 dogs in my apartment building. This includes regular walks and sleep-overs. If you pick me as your pet-sitter, I will not only provide the basics, but I’ll spend lots of time with them to ensure they are happy and not lonely. You will receive plenty of updates via WhatsApp, including pictures and videos. Please note that I am unable to care for cats/dogs with transmissible viruses or diseases as I don’t want to risk transferring germs and sickness to other animals and to my own cat.
“Had a great chat with Jo in advance of her watching my dog, Archie, which made me feel more secure on having her house sit him for an evening. She showed up earlier than expected so we could leave promptly to our event and even offered to stay late so we could enjoy ourselves. She was so warm and friendly with Archie and while we were gone she sent regular photo updates of him and texts. Would absolutely use her again if we were in need of a pet sitter. She was fab!”

About: I have always loved animals and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I take the time to get to know each pet, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I’m reliable, patient, and will care for your pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I’ll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is in safe hands. I understand the trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I pride myself on providing loving, dependable care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. Looking after animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love being able to fit pet care around my daily routine. Although I work full time, I’m available for morning and evening visits, so your pet will still get plenty of love, attention, and care throughout the day. I’m also available on weekends with a little advance notice. I always treat every pet and home with the same care and respect that I would my own. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so they can feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible while you’re away. Whether it’s feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, cleaning litter trays, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they need.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Croydon
Sophie was absolutely brilliant with Lexi. She suggested a meet and greet before the booking so that Lexi could meet her first. Lexi very quickly relaxed with her. During the booking, Sophie sent a couple of pupdates together with photos of a very happy and chilled Lexi. She even left a little mini Polaroid which was just too cute!! 🥰 I can highly recommend Sophie and will definitely be booking her again.

Desra and Lily were absolutely lovely - we had a 'get to know you' meeting a few days before the sit, and on the day they arrived punctually and well prepared. We got regular updates through the day and the pack were clearly very happy as they settled within 10 minutes (most unlike them!!). Overall could not be happy with Desra & Lily and would definitely recommend...
Jade is a FANTASTIC pet sitter. She looked after our cat for us and she cared for her wonderfully. Even when our cat was a little poorly and being sick. Jade sent us photo updates everyday and would reply to messages quickly. If that was not enough, she left our house in excellent condition. We returned to our house tidier and cleaner then when we left! We will 100% be using Jade again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to look after their furbaby!

Serena is a wonderful cat sitter, we have had her staying in our house twice now and both times, our fur baby has been well looked after and is happy and healthy on our return. Serena goes the extra mile and looks after our home as if it was her own, always left very clean and tidy. If you are looking for somebody reliable and trustworthy, I can thoroughly recommend her. Thankyou Serena xx

You couldn’t ask for a more attentive, intuitive and loving companion for your pet than Jenna. I knew right from meeting her that she was a genuine, kind soul who would take great care of Monty and that’s exactly what she did. Her communication was exceptional, she sent us lots of beautiful pics and updates on our beautiful boy and, importantly, wasn’t afraid to ask for advice or information if needed. It felt like she really appreciated our cat’s unique needs and routines and I felt completely comfortable with her staying in our home. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Jenna again. She is an honest, trustworthy human who is wonderful with animals and feels like a true friend to their owners. Thank you Jenna.
Would highly recommend Justina. She did an excellent job looking after our two longhaired dachshunds and completely understood their needs and personalities straight from the get-go. She was also able to administer daily medication to one of our dogs. We received regular feedback through messages and pictures. She was friendly, professional and left our home spotlessly clean afterwards. Thank you Justina!

Omar and Tatiana (and Chloe!) did a remarkable job looking after our cat and our home. We got very regular updates and pictures. Having them here enabled to us to actually relax on holiday. Bubu has epilepsy and various other issues and they handled all of his medication with ease and care. And they also helped us out with a very last minute visit on the weekend. So grateful for you all and can't wait to have you here again soon.

Justina was brilliant with our three dogs. They all loved her the minute they met her - something really important to us and were all happy and comfortable throughout the day. Would really recommend Justina to anyone and look forward to having her back to babysit for us soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Croydon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croydon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
